Columns in a Web Template
Hi,
I have designed a layout in WAD which has periods in the columns. When i move from page 1 to 2 of the template the last 4 columns of the first page are rolling over the second and the same is happening from page 2 to 3 and so on. Are there any settings to control so that no columns roll over to the next page and columns in every page are unique

Hi Rashmi,
there are appropriate settings for this issue within WAD. Just chosse you analysis item and go to "properties". Here you can set:
"BLOCK_COLUMNS_SIZE" : specify the number of data columns to be displayed simultaneously
"BLOCK_COLUMNS_STEP_SIZE": specify the number of data columns to be scrolled for each step
As to your requirement you should set the same number for both parameters. However you can do the same thing for the rows.

Sorting the values in a column in a Web Template Report
Hi All,
I have a report build on WAD in which a table is displayed with certain rows and columns and have certain text values in one column and few numeral values in the other few columns. When i right click on the 1st column(having text values) and click on Sort Ascending by Name, the values are sorted in groups.There are other 3 columns next to that column which have text values as well but when i right click on them and try to sort it in some order(ascending by name/descending by name), there are no reorganization of the values in the column. Again, once i go to the other remaining columns having numeral values in it, the values get sorted in ascending/descending order as per the sort selection. Please advise on how i can make the sort possible in the columns in which the rearrangement is not happening. Do i need to change the Query to some settings? Please advise.

In BW reports, the sorting of characteristic values always happens left-to-right. When you choose to sort by columns 2 - 4, you are actually just specifying whether to sort ascending|descending and/or by key or text. This sort happens for each value of the first column, however. Therefore, the sort in column 2 is only noticeable when you have more than one row with the same value in column 1, etc.
This sorting behavior is different than the Excel type of sorting, which may be your confusion here.
If you want to sort first by a column other than column 1, you must swap the columns so that the desired characteristic is in column 1.

I have created a web template which has 3 queries.
I would like to achieve the following
1> Bold the column heading and row headings.
2> Delete the space between the three reports(right now there is some space)
3> Align the columns on top of each other so that it looks like a continuous report.
(I know how to suppress the column headers on the 2 reports which are at the bottom)
Is this possible in 2004s???
With Table interface class gone in 2004s--is stylesheet modification the only way to go????
Please provide me with steps to achieve the above.

However I was only able to see the modules for Column Width, Negative number and Document Content.
Is there any other module as well to change Column heading ?Its not mentioned in the documentation.

How to make keyfigure columns in-/visible dynamically in a web template
Hello,
I want to implement a button into my web template, making a first key figure column invisible, a second key figure column visible. Clicking the button again shall make the first column visible, the second invisible.
How can I achieve this?
1) Using the filter_pane_item it is possible to choose the key figure structure and the a key figure for the analysis_item. Can this action be encoded behind a button?
If this would be clear, create a first button to choose the first key figure, then a second button to choose the second key figure. Finally enhance both buttons making one another visible and we are done.
2) An idea was to define two query views, one with the first key figure visible, one with the second key figure visible. Then again two buttons assigning the analysis item these two data providers. Finally again the trick, making one another invisible.
But this has the drawback, that after navigation, drill down, etc. in one view, then switching to the other cleary looses the navigation status.

Web Template - Freeze Columns & Export to Excel
Hello Gurus,
I have a couple of questions .
Issue:11.I have a input query assigned it to a web template.The query displays the KF's by fiscalperiod/fiscalyear. There are around 10 characteristics and additional KF's by fiscal period.Is it possible to freeze the characteristics like in Bex analyzer or Excel spreadsheet. Is it possible to do it at the template level.
Issue:2:
To do the export to excel, do I have to attach a planning function for export to excel button. I know there is a function to export to PDF file. I don't see a export to excel function.Please advise.

it is quite easy in WAD 7.0; all you have to do is to use command wizard - > export -> excel...
After that you have to choose web items which should be exported. If you don't choose anythink, every web item will be exported.

Display technical name of a query in a web template ?
Hi,
I try to display in a basic web template the technical name of my query with a web item. In this order, I have tried to use the web item 'Text Elements' but how could I configure the latter in order to have only the technical name ?
I have selected 'Display General Text Elements' in properties of the web item.
In the property 'List of Text Elements', what is the couple of values that I have to configure ?

What you need to do is, keep a TEXT Web Item in the template.
Then do not tick any of the options under Specific. Instead, go to List of Text Elements. In the first column, select General Text Symbol. In the next column type REPTNAME.
This will give the technical name of the query in the output.
Common text elements:
u2212 technical name of the query (REPTNAME)
u2212 description of the query (REPTXTLG)
u2212 InfoProvider (INFOCUBE)
u2212 key date for the query (SRDATE)
u2212 accuracy of the data (date and time) (ROLLUPTIME)
u2212 the person who wrote the query (AUTHOR)
u2212 the last time the query was changed (date and time)
(MODTIME)
u2212 the last person to make changes to the query (MODUSER)
u2212 current user (SYUSER)
u2212 the last time the query was refreshed (date and time)
(SYUZEIT)

I have just developed my first set of portal pages displaying the results of Bex queries and query views in the SAP Netweaver portal. I developed the pages using web application designer. Each web template created with W.A.D is using a query or query view. In one template I have that is using a query view I am using a variable in my Bex query. This variable is of type customer exit, is set to variable is ready for input and calls some ABAP code which returns the current fiscal week number and year. When I run the query or query view in isolation through Bex analyzer the variables gets populated correctly. In my web template I have associated my variable from my query view to a drop down list box. However when I run the Iview created from this template the query results get refreshed but my drop down list box does not, it still shows last weeks week number. How do I get the drop down list box to refresh with the latest result from my customer exit variable?

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to filter a calendar based a look up column in SharePoint 2013.
Calendar View not support OOTB filters connection. it is disabled for calendar view, you need to change view(not calendar view) so OOTB filters works and get connected to your view.
You can achieve this using combination of jQuery and SharePoint OOB techniques.

Debugging a web item when executing a web template in BI7
Hi,
I would like some help in the following
1> Class name (or package that contains all the class/methods) when a particular SAP delivered web item get executed in a Web template in SAP BI 7.0
2> whats the class that gets executed for an 'Analysis' WEB item in BI 7.0. Since it has a lot of properties, do we have multiple classes for each of these properties, for example when I remove a certain row or column by drag and drop, what methods gets executed? And how do I figure out the methods for a particular function
3> eventually I would like to debug through this for trouble shooting, How do I go about debugging a web template

Web Template Nav Block issue with a characteristic
Hi folks,
We have an issue with one of our web templates. In one of the navigation blocks there are some characteristics, for example, some are like as below.
G/L Account
Asset
Cost Center
Order
Network
WBS Element
Cost Center (Accoung string -correct object)
Sales document
The second object from bottom supposed to show as 'Account String' since the char is accounting string itself, insted, it is showing as Cost Center which is not correct.
The web template has 'personalization' checked. It is based on a BEx query.
This issue is happening with one user id. For other users (using their logon credentials), it is showing correctly.
I really appreciate any inputs.

However, the same query displays same for other users.

I would like to have an explanation of the following:
My goal is to develop a solution within a dynamic web template that supports calling of query documentation (description and purpose of the certain report). This query documentation will be provided from a textfile(e.g .csv) and presented under the information tab applying a text element web item. This will be done with query technical name acting as key with the following column structure:

Force Variable screen with Web Templates
We are on SP7 and have made the necessary settings based on note 950463, however the variable screen only pops up the first time you click the "New Analysis" button. If you click the button again, and select a query with optional variables, the variable screen does not show up. I've tried setting the default parameters in the IMG and in the portal iview to always pass the parameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X along with making the necessary modifications to our default web template, but none of this has worked. Has anyone else come accross this?

Below is a version of the web analyzer I created with the following changes:
1. Variable screen will always open on subsequent calls to the "New Analysis" button, even for optional variables.
2. A button for refresh. This button basically calls the variable screen. If no variables exist, then this will just refresh, but if variables do exist, this launches the variable screen and then refreshes, similar to the refresh used within the 3.x Bex Analyzer...
3. A button for "Back to Start" which takes you to the inital state of the web application.
4. A button for "Back" which will take you back one navigation state. Hope this code helps!

Order of Input-Variables in Web Template
Hi,
I have a problem with Web Templates. I have prepared Web Templates in BI 7.0 WAD in which I am displaying multiple queries. Some input variables are common to all queries and some are only in the main query. I have set the correct order of the input vars in the main query, but when I run the Web Template, I get the common variables first and then the rest which is not okay for me.
Can anybody suggest how to overcome this problem? And display the variables in the order I want in the Web Template?Hi Mayank
Why dont you insert a table in the WAD template and move the "buttons/variables" into the table rows/columns in the order you want them to appear.

0ANALYZER Web Template - increase number of Rows displayed
Hello All,
Is there a context menu command / popup value that will allow an end-user to increase the *default* number of Rows displayed at a time (25) when we are using the 0ANALYZER Web template?
We have about 100 characteristics anyway, so setting the displayed "chunks" of Rows to say 50 at a time would be quite reasonable.
We do not want to customise 0ANALYZER web template (and therefore any solution to add any extra buttons/JScript won't be acceptable)
Any ideas 0ANALYZER experts?

My suggestion is that you make a copy of 0ANALYZER_PATTERN web template say ZANALYZER_PATTERN and make this your default web template. Now in the properties of your analysis grid of ZANALYZER_PATTERN, you can change the number of displayed columns and rows. But again this will be appplied to all web queries using this template.
If you want to change number of rows and columns dynamically, why not ask SAP netweaver team.
