COM Interface Error Propagation from C++ to LV

I have found that only error codes that are <0 (msb bit
set) will propagate up to a LV error cluster from my automation interface.
Is it possible, in accordance with the COM spec, to be able to pass error
codes with a positive value up to LV?

Good question. All LabVIEW errors are negative, so it may be carrying over this generalization when dealing with your COM server. I'm not sure if this would be the case. This is really a question for LabVIEW experts though, so I would post the question to the LabVIEW section of Developer's Exchange here so LabVIEW users can respond.

I'm downloading from Itunes and have come across error = 404 and 403. Anyone know what this is? Corrupted file maybe?

It means that iTunes looked for something on the iTunes Store servers and either it wasn't there(404) or the iTunes Store servers denied access to it(403). These can't be resolved at your end.

  • ACCESS_VIOLATION at AdobeOwl.dll when call Indesign com interface from windows service

ACCESS_VIOLATION at AdobeOwl.dll when call Indesign CS3 COM interface from windows service application.
Does anyone know how to workaround this issue ?

As AdobeOwl.dll file is missing or corrupted, you need to get a new dll file. Here are the steps to replace setup.dll file
Step 1. You can download missing AdobeOwl.dll here:
    http://dllcentral.com/AdobeOwl.dll/1.0.92/download/
Step 2. Paste this file into your system32 or SyWOW64 folder.
Step 3. Navigate to your System32(32Bit OS) or SyWOW64(64Bit OS) Folder.
Note: The location of System32 and SyWOW64 is
C:Windows\System32 (If you are using 32Bit Windows)
C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (if you are using 64Bit Windows)
Step 4. Paste the AdobeOwl.dll file into this folder.
Step 5. Try to run it. It might work now. If not, restart your computer to restore it effectively.

  • Open DeviceNet interface error when TestStand call VIs of NI PCI-8532

    Hello,
We use NI PCI-8532 was used as DeviceNet master to do functionality test with a slave (AC Drive).
But when open DeviceNet interface, it happen the error.
We can't find the solution and hope to find help from you.
The basic sequence in TestStand is:
1). Call "Open DeviceNet Interface.vi" to open interface and creat interface object.
         Interface(master) setting: interface name=dnet0, MAC ID=0, baudrate=125000bps
2). Call "Open DeviceNet IO.vi" to creat DeviceNet IO object.
         Device(slave) setting: MAC ID=63
3). Call "Operate DeviceNet Interface.vi" and operation code=start
    4). Call "Wait For State.vi"
5). Call "Read DeviceNet IO.vi" to read data from IO object
6). Call "Close Object.vi" to close IO object handle
7). Call "Close Object.vi" to close interface object handle
Remark, these DeviceNet VIs locates at "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\vi.lib\DeviceNet\VIAPI".
First time to run sequece in TestStand, it can pass to run step 1) to open DeviceNet interface.
But once there is some error with these steps, and it will happen "Open DeviceNet Interface" error (error code=0xBFF62006) when run these steps again.
Then even use LabVIEW DeviceNet example to test, and it happen the same error except restart computer.
    The DeviceNet example locates at "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\examples\NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet\Basic Examples\PXI & PCI\MixedCommunication.vi".
    Some information more:
PC operate system: Windows XP SP3
    LabVIEW version: 2012 SP1
    TestStand version: 2012 SP1
    PCI 8532 driver version: 2.3.0
Other installed PCI board: PCI 8531 CANOpen

The following errors may be resolved by resetting the CAN, DeviceNET or LIN device:

  • Error propagating servlet user to peer?

    Hello,
We currently have a Windows 2003 Server 32bit running ColdFusion 8.01 with 3 instances named: cfusion, Instance1 and Instance2. Instance 1 and Instance 2 are clustered together and serving all our sites in IIS. We're hosting just over 200 sites with approx. 6-7 hits a second.
ColdFusion is running with all the latest hot fixes and patches. The JVM is version 1.6_24.
For a while now one of the instances in the cluster randomly  locks up a few times a month, fails to return pages and has high cpu usage. We'd normally just restart the instance and things would return to normal. It's bad to ignore things but it's only recently I've had a chance to look into the cause of these lock ups.
Last night both the instances appeared to fail. We have an external monitor that hits our sites every 5 minutes to ensure they are still running.
Scanning through the JRun logs at about the time we received our first monitor warning there are a bunch of what appear to be propagation errors on both instances.
    Logs from Instance1:

I suspect it's a JVM memory issue, however I have no way of extracting or creating memory logs without bringing all our sites down again.
I only know the basics of how the JVM heap space works but my guess is that one of the instances can't create any more threads because the PermGen space has run out and it's killing the cluster.
    Here's our current JVM settings: java.args=-server -Xmx768m -Xms768m -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -XX:+UseParallelGC -Dcoldfusion.fckupload=true -Dcoldfusion.rootDir={application.home}/
Has anyone come across this issue before or has any ideas on how to better debug the issue with minimal impact on uptime?

Well the classes should be in WEB-INF/classes, but I don't think that's your problem.
Getting an applet to connect to a db is notoriously difficult (so I've heard - I've never tried it), so having the applet talk to the servlet with the servlet in turn talking to the db is a good idea.
"i cant see the error message because it wont print in the VM,"
That doesn't sound right. What does your error handling code look like?
" MySQL it also has access permissions for some weird reason."
MySQL is set up so that user credentials are only valid from a specific host unless you explicitly tell it that a user can connect from anywhere. This is native to MySQL and has nothing to do with java or JDBC.
Most of the code you posted throws Exceptions. Are you catching them, and if so what did they say?

  • Reg:Getting error text from a channel into a file or into a variable

    Hi,
Can we get the error text such as u201Cjava.lang.NegativeArraySizeExceptionu201D  from a communication channel into a variable or in the form of an xml message so that based on kind of error further processing can be done.
    Regards,
    Rahul

You can decide further processing based on the data available in the mapping. If the value comes in the source field for a list element as you expected do UDF and return error as string and decide the mapping as per business need. I talk about something like enhanced interface determination. That's one way. Reading the error message from the communication channel and decide does not seem to be better option.

    vikas

    Hi Vikas,
I am assuming that you have maintained the Realignment table properly meaning you have only the necessary entries and removed all unwanted entries. Having assumed that the other reason why this error can come up is when you try to realign more than 1 Characteristic Value in the same table entry.
    For Example.
Let us you have 3 Characterstics viz, product, location, customer.
If for Product P1, you are trying to change the location from L1 to L2 and customer from C1 to C2 then there is a possibility such an error might occure.
In such cases we need to create 2 entries as follows
    1) P1 L1 C1 to P1 L2 C1
    2) P1 L2 C1 to P1 L2 C2.
It is better to avoid Multiple characteristic changes in a single step.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Mani

  • Can't burn CD's - "Interface error 5"

Hello, I haven't used my old firewire LaCie CD burner (LaCie 1394, blue front with the slide out tray) in a while but recently I needed to put some graphics files on a CD. The sw I'm using is Toast 6. No matter what I tyry to do I get the following message: "Interface Error: 5 The connection is not stable"
I tried different CD brands, no effect.
    This is the setup.
Machine Name: Power Mac G4 Cube
    Machine Model: PowerMac5,1
    CPU Type: PowerPC 60? (1.1)
    CPU Speed: 1.3 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB
    Memory: 1.25 GB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.1.9f1
    System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.2 (8C46)
    Kernel Version: Darwin 8.2.0
Looking for answers I found an (unanswered) message on a macosx.com forum. I'm reposting it because it provides more info about the same problem:
    [quote]
"Burning the disc failed because communication to the disc drive failed. (Error code 0x80020022)" -- Is the error code when I attempt to burn any disc using the Finder or Disk Utility.
"Interface Error: 5 The connection is not stable.
    The drive reported an error:
    Sense Key = Illegal Request
    Sense Code = 0x210x02
    BUFFER UNDERRUN" --
Are the errors when I attempt to use Toast Titanium v6.x and v7.x.
I'm using an iMac G5 running 10.4.2. I have two burners, both of which give me the errors and will no longer burn to CD's or DVD's (cheap or expensive media, I've tried many different types). The burners i have are an internal superdrive that came with the mac (MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-825) and an external LaCie Firewire DL drive (_NEC DVD_RW ND-3500AG). Both drives started giving this error at the same time and I can't think of anything that I installed that could effect these. I don't have any speed tools installed.
I have tried all that Apple suggests in the articles http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25750.
I've experienced the same errors twice before, though not both drives at the same time. What fixed it the first time was simply upgrading the firmware on the burner. Second time, there were problems on the hard drive that I was burning from (directory issues if i remember) and running a combination of Tech Tool and Disk Utilitity fixed that.
But this time, I'm at my wits end and can't find anything helpful online. I'm hoping to find an answer before I end up trying a complete system reinstall.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Cube, 2 ibooks   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

I'm having the same problem using Toast 7 to burn a Video TS movie I made. I'm using an external Lacie 16X DVD-R DL drive and an iMac G5 2.0, and Mac OS 10.4.3
After several failures with Interface Error 5, I tried copying a DVD movie I made from another DVD. This was created with the same Lacie drive using Mac OS 10.3 and my old iMac FP 15 inch. I got the same failure message.
I then switched my Lacie Drive to the USB port and everything is working fine. I switched it back to FireWire and I get the same error message again.
I can play DVD's on the Lacie with either the USB or FireWire port without any problem, I just can't record using the FireWire port. The FireWire ports on the computer work fine with all my other FireWire devices.
It must be a combination of 10.4.3, Toast 7 and Lacie FireWire. I'm going to recheck Lacie's site to make sure I have all of the updates.

Please!!!Some body help me solve this problem(except format my computer),i really really need your advice.

    Hi huydaibang,
The older version SQL Server 2005 could be installed with SQL Server 2008 R2 side-by-side.  It could not be the problem.
The reason that we get this error message is the client stack could not receive SSRP response UDP packet from SQL Browser.
    Here are the steps:
    1) Make sure your server name is correct, e.g., no typo on the name.
    2) Make sure your instance name is correct and there is actually such an instance on your target machine.
    3) Make sure the server machine is reachable, e.g, DNS can be resolve correctly, you are able to ping the server (not always true).
    4) Make sure SQL Browser service is running on the server.
    5) If firewall is enabled on the server, you need to put sqlbrowser.exe and/or UDP port 1434 into exception.

  • IDOC Interface Error

    Hi Experts,
I am getting the same error: and from the forums I came to know that we need to use the IDOC name in the Interface mapping.
I used the modified IDOC structure(External Definition) in mapping, but when I select the original interface in Interface mapping I am not able to get the message mapping name.

    Hi Sri,
I used the modified IDOC structure(External Definition) in mapping,
but when I select the original interface in Interface mapping I am not able
to get the message mapping name
Are you following the steps as mentioned in the blog /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/04/xi-idoc-bundling--the-trick-with-the-occurance-change or SAP note 814393
Are you creating any separate  Message interface after creating the External Definition?Pls don't create any separate interface.
just export the XSD of the IDOC and change the occurrence (dont save ED with any other name ,keep the same IDOC name)
now in message mapping import the XSD you save earlier. and do the mapping.
In Interface mapping and in the ID configuration use the imported IDOC name only
