I am working on a project where i need to combine many pdf files to create a production file.
I have some small pdf pages that i like to merge on a single pdf page.
Is there any way how to do this with some script?
I am building a webbased application that is working with php.
Thank You.

I've tried  pdftoolkit but pdftoolkit has not the functionality I'm looking for but I'm  looking for something that can be controlled from the command line like pdftoolkit.

  • The function to combine pdf files and the function to add bookmarks stopped working in 10.x

We had VBA scripts in Access 2003 running with Acrobat 7.0 standard version to combine pdf files and to add bookmarks. The scripts worked fine. Now we installed 10.x and the functions stopped working. Does anyone share the same experience?
In the scripts, we just call the OLE object with the code like:
        Set acroOrigPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
        Set acroNewPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Then we have the call "acroOrigPdfDoc.InsertPages" and "acroOrigPdfDoc.Save" to save the combined pdf files. All these functions work fine under 7.x. Under 10.x, they stopped working without any error messages.
    Can anyone help me?

  • Hiding filenames when combining multiple files into a single .pdf

I'm fairly new to this Acrobat X. I'm trying to assemble my portfolio to distribute to employers but I cannot seem to get rid/hide the filenames in the final pdf file. I was using the option to 'combine multiple files into a single pdf' because I was compiling images and documents to a single readable pdf file. I got all that done but once I open it, I'd see that each page would still contain the original file names rather than page numbers - which I prefer not to have employers see for the sake of tidiness (and I refuse to use the Adobe portfolio because it's not really efficient on space or design. I prefer a simple page-by-page pdf). So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to hide my file names, change them into page numbers or getting rid of them all together so the 'Table of Contents' in the pdf preview mode would not show anything, I would really much appreciate it.

Well, when the .pdf is in the final, deliverable form; I open it in Mac preview mode and the sidebar is always extended showing a 'table of contents' rather than having each document in the pdf file have a number designating a page name, it shows each individual filename the pdf is composed of. Not too sure about bookmark, though. Thanks for the reply!
If you want, I can send the file to you.

  • Acrobat XI PRO: Create a Table of Contents (TOC) automatically in top, after I have combined several pdf.files into a single pdf.file

    Hey
I have now tried for hours, but now I give up!
    MY WISH -
Create a Table of Contents (TOC) automatically after I have combined several pdf.files into a single pdf.file.
I have already bookmarks, shown on the screen (see screenshot below) but I want those bookmark to be visualised in a separate TOC in the top of the combined files.
This new TOC (which I have inserted) shall be printable and serve as a cover page in a binder.
I have seen other cheap pdf.programs in the market (e.g. PDF Converter Professional 7.3) which are able to make the above things, easy, fast and nice.

  • How do i combine multiple pdf file into a single pdf file?

how do i combine multiple pdf files into a single pdf file?

The thread was started in early March and it's Mid-April, I know this very well. The OP of this thread posted a very common and simple question or maybe he/she would have resolved this. For an Adobe Acrobat user it's not at all difficult to combine multiple PDF files into one. But to combine PDF files full version of Adobe Acrobat is mainly required, otherwise PDF files can't be combined. For example, I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. These simple steps are mainly required to combine PDF files:
    Open Adobe Acrobat.
Click on Combine and click on Merge files into a single PDF.
A window will be appearing, click on Add Files and select the PDF files you want to combine.
Arrange the selected files in any order with the help of Move Up and Move Down button.
Now click on Combine File and the selected PDF files will be combined within a few seconds.
A new PDF file will be created. Click on Save As and name this new PDF file. Then, click on Save.
A new PDF file will be created and all the selected PDF files are combined in it. The steps shown above might be different in other versions of Adobe Acrobat. Other than this, some third-party PDF merge software are also available. Most of them are available with a demo version for free evaluation. I've heard much about SysInfoTools PDF Merge software on other forums and directories and it's demo version is freely available. One may check its demo version if Adobe Acrobat (full version) is not available.

  • Size of pages in combined pdf files

How can I keep the combined pdf files from changing sizes in the newly created pdf. If the combining tool doesn't allow me to save the original pdf file size, it's of very little use to me. Can someone help me ?

You are saying that the PDF pages change size when combined? Ok, what were the sizes before and after? You can check the exact size by holding the mouse at the extreme bottom left of the page until the size appears.

Not possible with Reader. You need Acrobat or a subscription to something like PDF Pack to do it.

  • I used tag to show PDF file inside my JSP page, It is working properly in IE but nothing shows in Mozilla. What should I do?

I've used to display a PDF file inside my JSP page. It is working fine in IE. However, many of users of this application are using Mozilla and the platform is Ubuntu so it is vital that the file is shown in Mozilla as well. How can I solve this problem.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I run my jsp page

Such conditional code will only work in IE and not in other browsers like Firefox.

  • Can I use Visual Basic to covert form user data from multiple .pdf files to a single .csv file?

Can I use Visual Basic to covert form user data from multiple .pdf files to a single .csv file?  If so, how?

You can automate Acrobat using IAC (InterApplication Communications), as documented in the Acrobat SDK. Your program could loop through a collection of PDFs, load them in Acrobat, extract the form data from each, and generate a CSV file that contains the data.
Acrobat can also do this with its "Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet" function, but this is a manual process.

  • Combine PDF-files using Indesign?

    Hi,
Is it possible to combine, lets say 15, PDF-files using Indesign and some scripting magic?
I know it's easily done in Acrobat Pro, but I'd like to skip that step and make it even easier for my colleagues.
Any hints, tips or links are much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

All you have to do in Acrobat is drag one file after another onto the same window, correct? Then save?
You can combine PDF files with InDesign, but then you'd get an InDesign file, so you have to export as a new PDF again. Sure, a script can do that for you, but it still sounds like it would take more time, and *definitely* not as easy as the straightforward drag-drop-save steps in Acrobat Pro.

  • Open PDF file to a specific page

I need to have an HTML link open a PDF file at a specific page. Are there any commands that can be added to the HTML link that the Reader can use to do this specific action? I have many name index files where the names are linked to the spcific page. I currently have all pages as individual JPG files. I want to combine all these JPG files as a single PDF file. But how do I access those individual pages? Thanks.

THANK YOU !! The article states that the described method does not work using local hard drive destinations. I neglected to mention that using local hard drive destinations is exactly what I need. But the article also states this applies to Reader 7.0. I am using 8.1.2 so I decided to try it and see what happens. The method does indeed work in 8.1.2 !! Again, THANK YOU !!

  • Combine PDF file as package

    Hi All,
How can i combine 5 pdf files in to one pdf as PDF file package using Java Scripting.
    Thanks
    Mohamed Idris

    Hi Lenonard,
Thanks for your reply, I am refering JavaScript for Acrobat API Reference, Version 8 document , but i could not find the right syntax for the above task.
I am sucessfull writing script for page label but not for insertion of page number in the footer section.
Regarding combining PDF files i could merge file and it comes as single PDF file not like assembeling pdf files as package.
Please let me know the syntax and if i am looking at not right documentation, please let me know the document name to refer.
    Thanks again.

  • Merge and Combine PDF files in a numerical order

    Greetings!
I'm using Adobe Acrobat to create a photo LookBook or an eBook. I'm importing and merging straight from .JPEG's and Acrobat work's great. The JPEG's are sorted by capture date, renamed and numbered as such: "10_File.Name.jpg". However, once I attempt to merge over 100 files I noticed that the numerical order of the file names is wrong. You'll notice in the example below that when viewed by name, the three digit numbers begin after 10. Well, in this example it's twelve. This affects to page order of the combined .PDF file. How can I maintain consistent name order to avoid assembling the finished ebook by implementing two workflow steps. Meaning the first step to combine the double digit numbers, then the second step to combine the three digit numbers. What can I do to resolve this issue?
    Greatly appreciated!

    Try it with a leading zero ( 003_, 007_, 008_, 010_, 011_, and 012_ ).
    Be well...

  • How to create one pdf file out of several pages documents?

I have created several seperate pages documents and want to merge them now to one pdf file. Currently if have exported only single pages documents in the pdf format to the documents app from readdle. I would prefer to order them in pages (e.g. in a folder) and convert the whole folder afterwords to a single pdf document.
Maybe there is another and better way to do it. Your help is very welcome.

    In iOS:
Combine the pages files into a single document, (Pages will not batch print)or
Find an app for iOS that will facilitate combining PDF files into a singe file. (To be honest, I have my doubts about finding one).
