Combining PDF's in Adobe Standard Xi

When I combine PDF files with Standard Xi, the new combined PDF is missing text all of the place.
Any suggestions?

Just wanted to say Thank You to Jeffery for his post which solved my Problem!! One thing to note however: The show file result window in this action for some reason is not visible, so allthough the action does work you cant find your File!
After some more looking in the Automator forum I found the answer from
Alan Pearson.
The combined file is hiding in : /private/tmp
Thanks again all

  • Adobe standard to adobe x

I am having a problem with users being able to digitally sign a pdf using a common access card. I have tried to create several pdf files with adobe standard and it works perfectly. I have extended the "forms fill in and save to reader" option and have also checked all of my security settings. When I save the file and try to open with adobe x the digital sign field does nothing and the security properties now say "not allowed" for digital signature. I have verified the settings in both programs. Is there a patch or something obscure that I may be missing?
    Thanks for any help.

Where did you extend this option?

  • Word 2007 to pdf in Adobe Standard 8.1 errors

I have an XP PC with Word 2007 and Adobe Standard 8.1.  I'm having issues converting some
word docs to pdf but not all.  You click on the acrobat tab in Word and run the converter, but it stops midway thru the process and says "Error"  Other documents work fine.  Could it be a template issue or something in the document itself that Adobe doesn't like, ie a symbol, format, font??  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Often it is a document issue, combined with some of the screwy ways that OFFICE 2007 is working. You might try saving parts of the document to another file and delete parts until you find where there is a problem. That might likely point to the issue. Also, try to print to the Adobe PDF printer to check for potential issues. One thing that can crop up with the PDF Maker is that you run out of memory in the TEMP folder. To check that, turn off adding tags to the PDF (really bloats things) and try again. If it works, it is likely a memory issue and cleaning out the TEMP folder might take care of the problem.

  • Adobe Standard 8 as default PDF viewer, except in websites

    Hello
I am trying to get Adobe Standard 8 to deploy as the default application when dealing with PDFs, but have Adobe Reader X as the embedded PDF viewer in Internet Explorer.
I have been successful in getting both applications to install, and X be the default viewer in Internet Explorer, however I can't seem to get 8 to be the default PDF application for opening files on the desktop.  I have played around with a number of different combinations of customization opens through the avaliable tools, but I can't seem to get it to land on the specific configuration I'm looking for.
Is there a "quick" registry fix I can apply to impliment this scenario?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi,
What you're trying to do is unsupported. See http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/874/cpsid_87424.html.
Only X and 9.x have that capability.

  • Adobe Reader does not recognize file name (filename10.5.11.pdf) but does in Adobe Standard 9.  Why?

I post documents to our Intranet site and found out recently that Adobe Reader does not recognize certain file names in PDF files.  For instance,  when trying to open a PDF file with the name
filename10.5.11.pdf  in Adobe Reader, the web browser will not open the PDF and the display is blank.   When I'm using another computer with Adobe Standard 9, I do not have a problem opening the file.
I would like to know if anyone else has had a similar issue and why Reader will not recognize the file name and Standard does.

The version is Adobe Reader 10.1.0    I will request the latest version
and let you know if that fixes the problem
Actually I had changed the name of the file so our associates could access
the file (changed the  .  to a hyphen)  It still made me wonder why Reader
wouldn't open it at that time.
Thanks again for you assistance and I will let you know if this resolves
    the  issue.
    Regards,
    Susan

    Hi Susan,
    Thanks for providing the information.
Could you also let me know what is the exact version of Adobe Reader on
your system. You can check the same y clicking on Help > About Adobe
    Reader X.
In case its not 10.1.1, please try updating to the latest version and see
    if the problem persists.
Also, does any other PDF with a different filename open in Internet
    Explorer correctly?
    Thanks
    Ankit

  • How do you make adobe X open the "combine pdf" window in the foreground?

This may not be the correct forum for this question, but considering that I simply
have not been able to get a reply in any other Adobe forum, I decided
to just post this question to ALL Adobe forums until I get a response.........
How do you make adobe X open the "combine pdf" window in the foreground?
I am using a "Windows 7" computer at work with "Acrobat X Pro" and I'm constantly combining
    pdf's and tiff's in Acrobat.
It would be nice if when I select 30 or 40 files to combine, the *******
"Combine Supported Files in Adobe Acrobat" window would open in the
foreground, not behind the 10 or so windows already open.
I have been researching this for some time now with no solution.
If the answer is that "IT CAN'T BE DONE", then that's fine. At least
I will have an answer and can stop searching. If (as I suspect) it can
be done, then kindly supply me with "step by step" instructions.

    Hi ,
I guess that was a bug in that version .
It does not happen in Acrobat XI and Acrobat DC .The window comes right in front of everything else .
I wonder that was a bug and that was fixed the other versions.
You could upgrade to the latest Acrobat version ,i.e Acrobat DC and you would not experience this anymore .

Hi! I believe you are trying to ask a question about Adobe Acrobat Standard. If that is the case, asking in the Acrobat forums would get it a quicker response. This forum is for Adobe Connect.
Otherwise if I mis-assumed, please rephrase to help us better understand the issue at hand.

  • Adobe Standard 8.1.1 with Multiple PDF's Open Reverts Focus

Currently running Adobe Standard 8.1.1 on a full patched WinXP SP2 computer. When opening multiple PDF's (the source of the documents do not seem to matter - ex. via Outlook attachment, on a local disk, on a network share, etc), the focus will automatically shift to the first opened document.
For example, I open Document1.pdf, and Adobe opens and displays everything properly. I switch back to Windows Explorer and open Document2.pdf, this document will show for a second or two, then Adobe will switch back to showing Document1.pdf in the foreground. Attempting to open Document3.pdf (while 1 & 2 are still open), Adobe will show Document3.pdf for a second, then it will throw Document1.pdf into the front focus.
This seems to happen regardless of the documents (have tried with several random PDF's, and they all generate the same behavior).
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have any suggestions to narrow down why this is occurring?
    Thanks.

I have not found a resolution. This still occurs for me, even after upgrading to 8.1.2 (also on several computers)
    Anyone else have any insight?

  • Acrobat Standard XI - How to edit pdf created and signed with Adobe Standard 6.0 on another computer?

    Hi
Is this even possible? I cant edit PDF-documents because I cannot remove the signature. Can I transfer digital signature from Adobe Standard 6.0?
    Please help me out
    //Anders

Acrobat versions prior to 9 had a bug which allowed you to do what you did. In Acrobat 9 this bug was fixed. In order to do what you want you need to certify (apply special certification digital signature with your certificate -- it is "Certify (Visible/Invisible)" choice in the "Work with Certificates") your document first. In the process of certification you can specify which modification permissions you allow the users of your document to make after signing. Certification signature must be the first signature in the document.

  • I have a E-mail that is pdf I need to correct this letter so how do I get this from Email to adobe standard

How do I get a e-mail letter that was send in a pdf to adobe standard file so I can correct this letter

There's no such thing as "adobe standard file".  The file format is "PDF".
If an email arrived with a PDF attached then save the PDF to the local machine's HDD.
Use Acrobat Standard to open the PDF file.
    Be well...

  • Adobe Standard 9 Freezes when working in PDF File.

System: Dell T3500 Xeon Processor with XP Pro 64-bit.  6Gb Ram. MS Office 2007. Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird. Quickbooks Pro 2009. Adobe Standard 9. Linksys Network Magic software. Hardwired to Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router.
The only program that I am having trouble with is Acrobat.  It will open just fine.  It will open any PDF file ok.  However, as soon as you put the cursor inside the PDF to scroll, open a different page, rescale, ANYTHING, Acrobat freezes.  It remains frozen for up to 30 seconds.  This happens EVERY time you try to do something to the PDF that is loaded.  The file size of the PDF does not matter either.  I have opened very small ones and very large ones.  They all open fine but then freeze as soon as you try to do something with the file. It's not just Adobe that freezes!  It actually locks up the entire computer!

At the advice of my IT guy at work, I checked the Event Viewer.  This is one of the messages I was getting:
The protocol handler Search.Mapi2Handler.1 cannot be loaded. Error description: Class not registered.
I did a search on it and went to
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=The+protocol+handler+Search.Mapi2Handler.1+cannot +be+loaded.+Error+description%3A+Class+not+registered&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&oq=&fp= 7da014c016d00ed9
One of the posts says to go
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/desktopsearch/choose/windowssearch4.ms px?tab=Install%20It
    and install Windows Search 4.0.
Where I am still getting the original error above, Acrobat has started working correctly.
Now.  Something else happened as well.  Actually two things.  First, when I opened Outlook this time, I got a pop-up that said something about RSS feeds - Yes, No, or Ask Me Later.  I think I clicked on NO.
Now, Outlook is opening faster that ever before and Acrobat is working.
