Communicating two webdynpro components within same DC

Hi ,
I m working on webdynpro DC project. I am having several webdynpro components in same DC. webdynpro component WD1 is used by other webdynrpro components in same DC. and depending upong which components is using WD1 , diaplay of WD1 need to be changed. Therefore to identify which webdynpro components is firing plug to WD1 i have created one value attribute in interface controller of WD1 , and mapping tht attribute to views which are going to fire plug for WD1. But when i m firing plug aftr setting value to tht attribute i mfetting unknown context exception error at line which issetting value to tht value attribute. Can anybody tell me how cn i resolve this issue???

Hi Manoj,
1) Go through the following link to check whether you are following all the steps required to be able to communicate between 2 components:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60132577-7801-2b10-c9b1-b13b2f78f23b
2) Check whether there is no change in the model structure at the backend.
3) The problem can also be due to incorrect mapping.
4) Check you have added all  the jars as told here:

  • Webdynpro components within SRM

    Hello all
I want to access the webdynpro components within SRM Portal . How do I do that?
      Regards,
    Sanjeet

    Hi,
    > 1. Is it necessary to deploy webdynpro components SAP
    > ESS 600, SAP MSS 600 and SAP PCUI_GP 600 ?
PCUI_GP is mandatory for both ESS and MSS,..
So , if its ESS .. ESS 600 and PCUI_GP 600 should do.
    > 2. If in case these already deployed where i have to
    > check for thesde components ?
You can check this in SDM. ess~component names..
    > 3. If in case these components are not deployed what
    > are the effects ?
You will only have the webdynpro iviews in portal,, but the actual webdynpro application these iviews use wont be there.. So it wont work.

  • Compare two webdynpro components

    Hi all
there is a webdynpro component with the name ZWDC_ONE.
i copied it by giving a new name ZWDC_TWO.
and I made few changes in the component ZWDC_TWO.
now there are two webdynpro components ZWDC_ONE and ZWDC_TWO.
i want to compare them with each other, to see what are the differences, what are new things added in ZWDC_TWO with respect to ZWDC_ONE.
for abap programs, there is a transaction SE39.
but it provides facility to compare programs, function modules, and classes, but not the web dynpro components.
is there any way we can compare two different webdynpro components.
    thanks,
    Madhu_1980

As far as i know there is no such tool available.

  • Two adf components sharing same VO with different params on same screen

    Hello everybody,
My current problem is that I need to create a screen with multiple graphs sharing the same VO but with different parameters for each one.
Lets suppose that I want to use EmployeesVO to show 2 graphs on the same jspx page.
One graph will show all employee salaries for department "Marketing" and another will show all employee salaries for department "IT".
Remember that I want both on the same screen.
The read-only VO will look like this:
    SELECT First_Name
    , Salary
    FROM employees
    WHERE department_id = :p_dept
To do this I did the following:
For each graph I created one Iterator.
For each Iterator I created one ExecuteWithParams. (one receiving "Marketing Depto" and anther receiving "IT Depto")
For each ExecuteWithParams I created one InvokeAction .
While running the application all graphs show the same information. All of them show only one department (the last InvokeAction in the Executables List).
The question is: How to keep each graph with their own parameter on the same screen?
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1 on Windows 7 x64 SP1.
    Thanks in advance!

Why dont you add 2 instances of the same Vo in the AM. For each instance set the different VC.

  • Create two logical columns with same LTS mapping but diff filter conditions

    Hi,
    Problem:
How to create two logical columns within same logical table mapped to same physical column but different filter conditions?
I have a scenario where in,
    Physical layer columns
         - table1.employee
         - table1.emp_city
I need a columns in logical layer:
Logical layer - lt1.count_emp_delhi (counts distinct employees whose city_name = 'Delhi')
              lt1.count_emp_mumbai(counts distinct employees whose city_name = 'Mumbai')
    My approach:
    For Delhi column
    1. Create a logical column lt1.count_emp_delhi mapped to the physical column table1.employee
    2. Aggregate using countdistinct in aggregate tab.
    3. Edit the mapping condition
3.1. Use the where clause and set table1.emp_city='Delhi'.
    For Mumbai column.
Followed the same approach as above but in 3.1 if I change the condition to 'Mumbai', even the delhi column is populated with mumbai count which is ERRONEOUS
    Could some one please help?

    Hi,
    1. Create two alias tables for table1 in Physical Layer. Lets say TB_Mumbai and TB_Delhi
    2. Create a logical table in BMM layer (D1 Employee Cities )
    3. Drag and drop the employee & emp_city columns from both alias tables (TB_Mumbai and TB_Delhi ) into your newly created logical table.
    4. Now you can see two Logical Table Sources (TB_Mumbai and TB_Delhi )
    5. Now using Where condition, write the condition on each table
NOTE: Don't write any condition on the Physical table Table1.
    Hope it helps you.

  • Release Strategy for inter Storage Loc Material transfer within same Plant

    Hi Guru's
I hope all are doing good. I gota small concern to share with you. Is it possible to apply Release Strategy between two Storage Locations within same Plant for Material Movement?
    Many Thanks
    SONAL

Release Strategy cannot be assigned in material document.
However you can restrict this at authorisation level for T code MIGO_TR.

  • Stock Transfer Between two plants within same company code

    Hello,
We are using scenario-'Stock transfer between two plants within same company code. Scenaro is like Plant A is receving plant and Plant B is delivering Plant.
Plant A release PO for 100 nos to Plant B
Plant B issues 100 nos (via delivery) to Plant A
But Plant A receives only 50 nos physically so they do Goods receipt for 50 nos , but document got generated for 100 nos (when plant B issues material).
Now Plant A do not want to receive remaining 50 nos physically, but wants to reduce material document which got created when goods issue posted by plant B
Now stock in transis (mb5t) is 50 nos.
How to reduce this material document. or any another alternative solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Shailesh

    Hi There
Reversal of partial is not possible ,
But you can use the Mov Type 557 and 558 to do the adjustments in Stock in transit qty
Few more details on STO adjustments
    Hi There
it can be settle in many ways,,,
    1. Receive the goods as 100 and Scrap the 50 nos from the received plant,,- If the receiving plant is responsible
2.Revert the PGI/Transfer movement(Vl09) and send the 50 nos again from the supplying plant- of the Supplying plant is responsible,
3.Also we have the movement type 557 and 558 without doing the above two steps you can correct the qty from stock in transit itself,,
    4. also you can check the below similar thread
STO - material lost during tranfer from plant A to plant B
    5. If above are not ok, then receive the goods as 100, And raise the STO as your plant as supplying plant and receiving plant is (Supplied 50 nos less) plant,, Do the process without sending the material.. in this way that 50 nos can be adjusted,,
    6.Here is some more details
557 Issue from stock in transit (adjustment posting)
Only use this movement type (also the reversal movement type) under the following circumstances:
Using movement type 557, you can correct purchase-order-independent stock in transit if
    - a good receipt cannot be posted to a purchase order without stock in transit, even though there is still stock in transit according to the purchase order history
    - stock in transit still exists, even though there are no open stock transfer orders for the particular material
This movement type may ONLY be used in the cases mentioned above after careful analysis, to correct stock in transit that has rounding errors.
This movement type may not be copied.
    Note!
Before using this movement type, note the following:
    - 392205 Analysis stock in transit / Correction if split valuation
    Possible special stock indicators:
    E, Q
    7. As previous post says if you have the note for this issue you can use that also
You can use any one of the way to solve the issue, Hope it helps
    Cheers

This fixes the problem that if two text components share the same textFlow there is an infinite loop involving updateDisplayList -> damageHandler -> invalidateDisplaylist -> back to updateDisplayList.  The bug file was for TextArea which is RET but the same bug was in RichText as well.
This example with a renderer exposed it because the typicalItem that is composed to figure out sizes and the actual first item in the list share the same textFlow.  It actually has nothing to do with useVirtualDisplay other than it was sharing a textFlow.
It turns out that the TextFlowFactory dispatches damage events every time the textFlow is composed.  Unlike when the flowComposer is used, it always considers the flow damaged.  It was exacerbated by each of the two components having a damage handler for the same textFlow.
The solution is to use the textFlow generation number.  In the damageHandler if the generation is the last known generation number, assume no changes, and return immediately from the damage handler.
QE notes: There are 1 TextArea, 6 TextInput and 2 NumericStepper failuers, with or without my changes.  The common link seems to be DispatchKeyEvent.  Most were testing maxChar, displayAsPassword and restrict.  I tested these and they seem to be working correctly.

  • Can we give same Excise Group to two diff.  Plant within same company code

    Hi,
Can anyone please tell that whether we can assign same Excise Group to two different plants within the same company code in SAP.
    Regards,

Yes you can use but, you shouldn't use same excise group for two different plants in one company code, if their physical location is different.
As many excise report are fetched on the basis of excise group, there it will show combined values for both plants, whcih may not be acceptable to exices authorities.

Well, the question was really meant to see if any change was made to WL to support
this, not because I didn't believe Michael Girdley.

Why do they 'have to be on different ports'? We block requests by URI

block all requests to /youradminapp/* at the firewall. Or you can block
    them at
your Web Server. Or restrict them by user in WL.

    we

  • Using Development Components in WebDynpro components - runtime failures

    Hi folks,
I developed a couple of webdynpro components and those are working fine. As I found out that I had some common functionality ( for example tablesorter class) in there I decided to get that into a common java component that would be "used" by my other webdynpro components.
Also that works fine as I have build a java component with corresponding public interfaces, attached the java component to the webdynpro components, uses the java classes in there, I can build the webdynpro components without any issues, ...
But at runtime I get an exception telling me that basically the common class definitions cannot be found ...
This is what I did :
    (1) Created a JAVA DC with a package with the common classes
    (2) Defined 2 public interfaces - API and Assembly
    (3) Created a J2EE Service Libary, added the JAVA DC Assembly Interface and build/deployed it ... No deployment issues. ( Also tried the same with "An external library" DC when the first one didn't work )
    (4) Added a reference in the WebDynpro DC towards the API public interface ( buildtime ) and to the Assembly public interface ( RunTime ) (-> not sure that one was necessary ).  The DC builds without any issues.
    (5) I run the WD application and get a dump ...
Any ideas what I forgot or suggestions on solving this ?
    Thanks,
    Steven

Thanks for your suggestions guys ...
I deployed the libary JAR seperately with the J2EE Library DC ... that worked fine according to the deployment logs.
And yes I referenced the project as well in the project configuration but that didn't do alot I am afraid ...
I did some reading up about JAVA class loaders within J2EE and it seems that by default each J2EE application ( I assume Webdynpro is one as well ) will have a dedicated class loader which only loads the classes needed within the application ( plus the default ones ).  It seems that my library is not considered to be part of the application ... although by creating the link to the public interfaces I would assume it is ...
Only other thing to remark is that all the components are developed as 'local components' ... I cannot imagine that would have anything to do with it ?

  • CMS two software components with different version

    Hi,
We are going to develop and maintain pararell two software components versions (e.g. SOFTWARE_SAMPLE 1.0 and SOFTWARE_SAMPLE 1.1) and we have got problem during transports (we are not able to create second track in CMS). Is it possible to have two separete tracks for two SWCV? Because I've noticed that we can only create track for one SWC. It looks like that track depends on SWC not SWCV. Am I right or not?

    Hi,
    Plz remember what doc says:
    Oracle Document wrote:
All nodes within the topology must be configured to use the same multicast address and port.
The multicast address must be within the valid address range, which is 224.0.1.0 to 239.255.255.255.
Ideally, multicast address and port assignments should be managed by your systems administration staff to avoid potential conflicts with other applications.
So you can use any from the above range and unique to all nodes in the cluster.

  • Deployoing two FE Servers in same Ent FE Pool across two datacenters

Couple of questions around Enterprise FE Pool, hope to get feedback.
1/Has any one had the experience of deploying two FE Servers in same Ent FE Pool across two datacenters?  Any experience you can share?
2/What is the network requirements among FE Servers in the same FE Pool?  Such as LAN subnet, network latency, jitter, ...
    Thanks
    Albert
    Albert

    Albert,
#1 - officially no for Lync Server 2013 core setup. Site level redundancy is achieved with a multi-server Enterprise Pool setup + SQL Mirroring backend (optionally SQL Witness) whereas Disaster Recovery depends on Pool Pairing of liked
    pools across disparate geographical locations.
Assuming that the 2 datacentres are part of the same campus connected with each other in a high speed LAN (low latency, delays, etc.), it is indeed possible to separate, say a 6 server Enterprise Edition pool, into 2 groups of 3 servers within
the same IPv4 subnet. Depending on whether SQL Mirroring is deployed or not (and how), the reachability and availability of each "server group" may not meet the minimum number of servers required to keep the pool functional (see "Topologies
and components for Front End Servers, instant messaging, and presence in Lync Server 2013"). Hence, it may still be better to consider having 2 separate paired Enterprise or Standard Edition pools located in the 2 datacentres.
Please share with us if this helps.

I'm trying to use home sharing to share content between libraries so some of the combined content in a given library, can be synced to an ipad.   Instad of having mulitple computers, i have multiple libraries on the same computer using two desktops.  How do I share within the same computer?

iTunes must be running for home sharing to work.  There is no way to have home sharing running simultaniously for two users on the same computer.
Simply add the media files using File > Add File/Folder option in iTunes.

  • How can i distinguish two controls with the same name?

I'm recording automated tests with VS 2012 Coded Ui Test for testing a web application.
In that web application it is possible to enter data in something looking like a list.
There is - per example - an Edit control sitting on a ColumnHeader with the name/text "Description".
Below that header is another Edit control for data input - containing the text "Description" too and which lies on a Cell control.
When i playback my recording, Coded UI Test looks for a control with the name "Description" and gets the one, it finds at first.
In that case the Edit on the ColumnHeader, which causes an exception, when the Text will be setted with the data input from the recording.
Unfortunately the controls have no ID.
Is there a way to distinguish controls with the same name?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Patrick Pirzer,
    >>Is there a way to distinguish controls with the same name?
Based on the blog "How does “Coded UI test” finds a control ??", we know that to really find a control, it would be related to the unique properties as the search properties,
so if two controls have the same property, please use other unique property as the search property would be better.
