Communication Channal

Hi All,
I am creating the IDOC to FILE scenerio. Business system is ready but in ID I am not able to create the communication Channel. Can anybody please help me in creating it.

Hi,
For Idoc--File scenario , you dont require any Sender CC and Sender agreement at all.
Just create the Receiver File CC with the Receiver Business system OR Business Service

  • Sender MDM PI Adapter Communication Channal Problem

    Hi All,
I am doing (MDM >PI>R/3) Material Master Outbound scenario; while doing syndication process xml file is generated in MDM ready folder.
But, in ths PI system RWB  Communitation channel monitoring  each time (wheneve new file placed in Ready folder) the MDM PI Adapter Communication Channel has to stop and start it then only the latest file is picking up.
How to solve this problem without doing start and stop the Communication Channel?
Plaase, help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks in Advance
    Best Regards
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
communication channel is controlled in 3 different methods Manual, Automatic and External (HTTP request)
so looking at your channel behaviour i suspect it's set to 'Manual'. If so please chage the control to 'Automatic'.
Manual - You control the communication channel by choosing Start or Stop.
Automatic - The communication channel is controlled by scheduled availability times.
    I hope this hleps you.
    Regards
    Sekhar

  • What is path that is given while configuring communication channels

I had recently installed xi on my desktop, i'm unable to write path for communication channel....
while practicing in my institute I had used "//ECCserver/SAPMNT" as path for both sender and reciever communication channels...
now i'm unable to write the path for both
    please help me out

    hi narssimha
just identify  the application server path. like in ur system some part it work like server . just identify.
its MENU-RUN- application sever path. then only its work.
and when ur downloading the business system we will create the communication channal . thats different

  • Receive Data from SOAP

    Hi All,
This is another question regarding SOAP again. The requirement is our customer will send the asynchronous text messages in one tag of XML like
    <header>
    <Field> Text message</field>
    </header>
I need to have the webservice in XI to receive this field message and save it in the folder.
Can any one help me to achive this in XI ?
    Laks

    Abhishiek,
The requirement is like customer will be sending the text content in a single tag of xml though the webservice i create.
I planned to create the webservice like
    <Header>
    <field>Text content</field>
    </header>
So the customer can access this webservice and send their data in Field tag.
I created the datatype with the structure as mentioned above, and related message type and message interface.
I can create the sender service and its communication channal as SOAP .
Receive service and its communication channal as file.
Now my question is , Do I need any interface mapping for that or not as there is no target structure..  I just need to process that request and save that content in file.
Hope u understand the requirement. I am new to SOAP to XI scenario .
    Laks

  • Can we Receive Response back to IDOC's

    Hi,
I want to receive the Response back to IDOC.
Can IDOC handle with the Response from the Receiver Applications?? Not From XI System using ALEAUDIT.
    Regards
    Suman

    hi suman,
no need for BPM ,u have to configure the SOAP as synchronous mode.
we r using SOAP ->xi->rcf  scenario in synchronous mode.
here for the sender side we have created to 2 data type
    1) one for SOAP Request (structure with requers will come )
2)second for SOAP responce (structure with responce  have to send
create 2 message type but only one message interface
    create 2 message mapping
one for sender request and one for the responce message .
    create only one interface mapping.
only one communication channal can be used for both sender and receiver messages.
for your scenario, ie IDOC -xi-SOAP create ur idoc having both sender as well as responce message type .
and create 2 data type  message type for SOAP request.
    thanks

  • Alerts in ID

    Hi ,
    1. Is it possible to send an error from ID..If so,How is it possible.
    2. Consider a file to file scenarion ...A file has been put in the source directory and is noy being picked up by XI .....as it is not an error...how can we send a mail  ?

    HiRaghavesh,
IF the Communication Channal doesnt pick the file then u need to see that error, then u hva eto go with Alerts,For creating the Alerts first u have to create the Alert category and then u have to create the Alert rules for that.
If u have any error then u can see error in ur Alertinbox or u can get mail to ur mailid.
Here some links for Alerts,in my project Alertcategory was done my onsite i have done Alert rules.i can helpu u in creating Alert rules.

  • 9ir2 on mandrake 8.2

I installed 9ir2 on a mandrake 8.2 box, with 512M RAM, everything is Ok until the step database conf assist. it gave a message:
ora-03113 end-of-file on communication channal, when press the ok button, is closed.
the same thing happed when I use the dbca to create a database.
    who can help?

You are on the bleeding edge in both Mandrake version and Oracle 9i version. Good luck from the rest of us who will be following you in the near future. One thing I can say is that Mandrake appears to be very similar to RedHat in the installation process. Most (but not all) solutions to Redhat problems apply to Mandrake as well.
I have not gotten the rev quite down but I believe that
Mandrake 8.2 is similar to Redhat 7.3
Mandrake 8.1 is similar to Redhat 7.2
    etc.
I have been keeping track of my installation notes for Mandrake versions and Oracle versions but I have not had the opportunity to try this combo yet. Please keep this thread going until you get a solution. I will be doing this install soon probably and will include my complete notes at http://mywebpages.comcast.net/joseph.flynn/oracle.htm . So far, I have Oracle 8.1.6/7 on mandrake 8.0, Oracle 9i on Mandrake 8.0 and Oracle 9i on Mandrake 8.1
    Good luck again.

  • Handling Italian Character ( any other Special Character)

    Hi Experts,
We have the scenaria of IDoc to EDI conversion and in my EDI i get some Special characters like Italian or Russian character.
So in the Receiver Communication Channal , I have given the File encoding as ISO8859_5 . But it is still not working.
Can any one help me reading these characters in my CC.
    Thanks
    Lakshmi S

    Hi Rajesh,
Thanks for your answers... but i tried all that option and also tried using XSLT mapping as well ..nothing worked out..
It seems to be Russian characters...
in the Payload i see the actual character but when it passess the CC it is writing something else instead of that characters..
    Laks

    Hi,
Seems to me that you have configured Static NAT from "inside" to "dmz" so that the "inside" servers are visible to the "dmz" with the IP address belonging to the "dmz"
Is this something that you absolutely need? Is there something preventing you from using the IP address ranges on both "inside" and "dmz" and not doing NAT for them at all between those interfaces?
IF you want to keep the current setup intact regarding NAT, change the DMZ ACL to use the actual 10.1.184.x IP addresses as the destination IP address in the ACL.
In other words, always use the Real IP address of the host in the ACL configuration, NOT the NAT IP address. After doing that change I suppose it should also work for "dmz" to "inside". (NAT IP was used in the ACL in the ASA versions 8.2 and below, the Real IP address is used in software 8.3 and above)
    Change
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 host 192.168.30.116 eq smtp
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit icmp host 192.168.30.4 any
    access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit ip host 192.168.30.4 host 192.168.30.134
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 host 192.168.30.134 eq sqlnet
    To
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 host 10.1.184.116 eq smtp
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit icmp host 192.168.30.4 any
    access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit ip host 192.168.30.4 host 10.1.184.134
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 host 10.1.184.134 eq sqlnet
You can also use the "object" names in the ACL.
    Which would be
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 object MailServer eq smtp
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit icmp host 192.168.30.4 any
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit ip host 192.168.30.4 object DatabaseServer
access-list DMZ_access_in extended permit tcp host 192.168.30.4 object DatabaseServer eq sqlnet
Hope the above helps Please ask more if needed.

  • Open and close communication channel in one link

    Hello,
I implement with successful the scenario that described in this blog:
Control Communication Channels Externally without using RWB
Right now I use with this link to start the CC
    http://aaaa:50000/AdapterFramework/ChannelAdminServlet?party=*&service=Open_Friday_Service_Sender&channel=Open_Friday_Sender&action=start
And with this link to stop the CC
    http://aaaa:50000/AdapterFramework/ChannelAdminServlet?party=*&service=Open_Friday_Service_Sender&channel=Open_Friday_Sender&action=stop
I looking for the way to start and stop the communication channel in one link.
    Elad

    hi elan
i think you need to write an abap program and schedule it..
abap program will call this HTTP link as The URL has no dependency on where it is called.

  • Communication between multiple JVMs

We have a Java toolkit that is shipped as a JAR file. The toolkit is ported from a C++ DLL running on Windows. Therefore, in both instances (Java and C++), we can't control who loads us or when.
I need to communicate between different JVMs running on the same machine. The communication is very simple: "Is this user logged on in your JVM?" I send a string to the other JVM and I get back a boolean. I don't need to worry about crossing machine boundaries. Also, I'm not expecting to have a huge number of JVMs running. Maybe 3 or 4 could be likely. However, the solution does need to scale in case there are more than that. I'm not setting a limit on the number of JVMs either.
The C++ code handled this situation very easily and elegantly. It created a named system semaphore (mutex) whenever a user logged on. The name of the mutex was the username. So, if there were multiple instances of the DLL running in separate processes (EXEs), we could easily tell if this user was logged on in another instance. We'd try to create the system semaphore - it would fail saying the name already exists. Therefore, we'd know the user was already logged on. The named system semaphore provided the means for a machine-global list - which is exactly what we wanted. It also had this extra benefit: if the process terminates normally or abnormally, the system semaphore is removed from memory. This means: the application is terminated, the user is no longer logged on, and we can relog this user on.
    Therefore, I have 2 requirements:
    1) A machine-global list where we can place a string. Keep in mind, it doesn't absolutely have to be a machine-global list. A suitable means to talk to other JVMs is acceptable too.
    2) If the process exits normally or abnormally, the string(s) get removed (for this JVM) from the list. Abnormal termination is the more important one to focus on because lots of people of varying skill levels use our toolkit. Abnormal terminations can be common.
The first thought is to store these in a file. That solves #1, but not #2. I've seen the JIPC package. However, I'm not too crazy about requiring 3rd party developers to start up another program (JIPC) before they start up their application. As I said, we're just a toolkit so we can't control when or who loads us. It's not totally out of the question, but I'd prefer something else.
I have a fairly involved solution that involves sockets. The first JVM creates a ServerSocket on a specific port and becomes the server. Subsequent JVMs also try to create the ServerSocket on the same port. They get a BindException because the ServerSocket already exists, so they know they're clients. Then, they create a client socket and talk to the server that way. This gets a little hairy when the server goes away. The clients will scramble to become the server and then all the other clients need to reconnect to the new server.
This proposed solution sounds like it will address both requirements. However, I'm looking for something simpler. I'm asking this forum for help in case there's an easier way to do this. I don't have the breadth of experience with Java yet to know if there's a simpler way to fix this. If I have to go with the socket solution, I will. I just didn't want to overlook something simple that is already built into Java.
Thanks for any tips or suggestions

    Thanks for the response.
FileLock. We still have to target JDK 1.3 so we can't use FileLocks (at this point)
JNI: That's an interesting idea. I suspect many people are using our software on Windows. Therefore, we could probably fix it in Windows the same as in the C++ code. If they're not on Windows, we could use the Sockets approach.
I also had another idea: how about hashing the username string into some integer (or long) value. Then use the hashed value to lock some other resource: like the port number passed to ServerSocket. I know ServerSocket only accepts 0 - 0xFFFF so this obviously won't work. But is there some other system-wide thing we could lock given an integral value?

  • A message to Creative from the Linux and geek users commun

Please pardon the possible misspellings/syntax errors in this post, as English is not my nati've language. I am still confident that you will grasp the essence of my message. Thank you.
I have been following the downfall of Creative in the last few days, and all I can say is : You had it coming. I am another customer who was decei'ved by buying one of your expensi've product. I spent 450$ on your X-Fi Elite pro, only to wait endlessly for stable vista drivers, which are still unstable and crippled. Yes, I know you had problems with how Microsoft changed completely its audio API a few months before launching, but the fact is that this is stuff that can happen, and you had to allocate more budget in order to develop drivers quickly to satisfy your customers. Instead, you just ignored us. And now you're paying for it.
It's kind of sad that your stock price is falling, but at the same time, it's about time the consumers could unite and get their revenge, and you are actually paying for laughing in our faces for so long. I have been waiting and waiting for a driver for Linux, since you would not provide stable drivers for Vista. Your website dedicated to open source drivers looks like it was coded in 995, with crappy graphics, just to show us that you don't care. And after waiting for over a year for drivers, you gave us a non-working driver, and you won't post any updates at all. ?
I shell out 450$ for an X-FI Elite Pro, and you laugh into my face, not once (with sub-par drivers for Vista and a long wait), but twice with your non-working Linux drivers ? I'm disgusted.
I wish your corporate people would understand what just happened, and listen to us, the geeky consumers, who buy, recommend, and install your products for themselves, customers, friends, and family. ? But I know that it does not work that way. Your marketing people, your legal department, your finance departement and all your corporate structure don't CARE about the end-user, but you have made a big mistake by ignoring us all these years. If you want to save your company, you really, really need to open up and develop a totally different relationship with your customer base. But knowing how this works, I'm sure that :?
    . Nobody important in the company structure will take time to read this thread, hoping it will go away, and thinking that the new product lines will make us forget all of this;
    2. You will not take this Public Relations Disaster seriously and think it will simply disapear
Well let me tell you what's gonna happen : Don't underestimate us, your customers. We will remember what happened in the past few days, but also how you treated us in the past few years. Unless you radically change your practices, and really show good faith, you are certainly going down. I, for one, am considering selling my X-Fi Elite Pro and rely only on onboard sound because at least the drivers work on all available platforms. But if you only knew how I wished to have decent support under Linux or Vista ! But you don't even talk with us, you provide crappy drivers and then forget us !? That's not the way to treat us !? So, unless you provide more than your little PR stunt of april st, where you don't even apologize and recognize your lack of support, I will never buy any of your products again, and I will tell everybody I know to stay away from your products.
Be aware : This is not a feeling that will go away in a few weeks/few months. I have been using Creative Cards since 996, and have always been a loyal customer, but I implore you to change, and to do it fast. I really hope you do.
Thank you for your time. ?

Thank you Igor, your article is very interesting indeed, and thanks for the other responses as well, it is really appreciated.
I recently tried OSS on Linux, which offers partial support for the X-FI, but with no success. I fear that without any proper documentation provided to ALSA, the complexity of the X-Fi hardware won't allow the development of acceptable drivers for Linux anytime soon. As for Creative development for Linux, well, just go and check out their support page : http://opensource.creative.com/soundcard.html.
It is beyond my comprehension as to why Creative simply refuses to document its hardware. I mean, I know about IP considerations and such, but the reality is that Creative has a very large part of the market for high-end audio products, and they do not have yet any serious competitors for the gaming/music enthusiast market who don't want to rely on onboard audio. (I know about M-Audio and a few others, but they mainly appeal to profesionals). So, to document their hardware for the open source community has more benefits than risks, since they don't have to pay for driver development, and since they almost sued daniel_K, I'm not afraid that their legal department would track anyone who would try to breach any IP rights by developing some hardware with the documentation they would release. So WHY ? WHY Creative, won't you release proper documentation? Why won't you help us help you ? Is it just by ideology ? That opening your code is bad ? Well, you're wrong. ?
But it may not be too late, should you *AT LEAST* provide us communication about what's going on at Creative regarding open source. Is it that hard for a Multinational Firm to hire a few developers to develop a driver for Linux ? Why won't you put up a blog for your developer, who can talk about what they're doing, what are the limitations, the hurdles, but at least show a little transparency and stop pretending you really care. ?

  • Using a variable in communication channel

    Hi,
I have a lot of Communication Channels looking for files in the same directory. This directory's path will be changed soon and so I assume I'll have to change all my Communication Channels.
I was wondering whether there was a means of using a variable for the Source Directory in order to just have to change its value where it is defined and not every where it is used...

    Yann

    Hi,
Is this a sender file adapter? or a receiver file adapter?
You can make a change / make the receiver file adapter's directory dynamic by setting the value during runtime in the mapping.
Use  this blog and the code in the blog to acheive this,
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
Sender File adapter, I dont think this is possible.
