Compa Ratio- Calculation logic query

Everytime I am changing the salary of employee in PS9.2 HCM, I am getting some different Compa-Ratio. Can anyone please explain the logic behind calculation of Compa-Rati0. I have already tried to verify by formula Actual Salary/Sal Mid Point on Grade.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I have not yet configured the matrix. But I want to know the fields and tables from which the values are fetching and compa ratio is calculating.
I believe that compa ratio formula is Compa-ratio = (100/employment level) * (Basic salary or annual salary/midpoint).
Now what I want to know is how the values for the fields in the formula employment level, Basic salary or annual salary and midpoint will populate while calculating the compa ratio.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Srinivas.

  • Doubt in calculating a ratio in a query

    Good afternoon forum,
    I have a question on how to calculate a ratio in a query.
    I have 2 ratios: Actual Cost and Cost Periodificado. And from these two I have to calculate other ratios (WIP).
    So the logic would be the following:
    A) If the actual cost is greater than the cost periodificado, the difference in these two ratios correspond to the ratio WIP (WORK IN PROGRESS).
    B) If the actual cost is <periodificado the cost, the difference in these two ratios correspond to the ratio WIP (PROVISION OF SPENDING)
    To reveal a ratio or the other depending on which of two conditions is met.
    If the condition is fulfilled, will be displayed in the query ratio WORK IN PROGRESS, and if the condition B is displayed on the query ratio
    PROVISION OF SPENDING.
    I do not know if I have explained well. Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    The logic presented by Rakesh seems to be appropriate .
    u need to follow and utilise the Boolean operators...
    go to query designer
    lets say the ratio u need to display is in columns
    now right clik and say new formulae
    from there select the Formulae operator as Boolean operators
    use follwong formulae
    WORK IN PROGRESS =  (actual cost > cost periodificado) * (actual cost - cost periodificado)
    PROVISION IN SPENDING =  (actual cost < cost periodificado) * ( cost periodificado - actual cost)
    Hit okey
    go to actual costs properties
    put the display option as HIDE
    repeat the same for Cost periodificado
    go to query properties
    use the option SUPRESS ZERO VALUES FOR rows and columns....
    this way u will only display the required result

  • How to fetch Quartile and Comp Ratio columns

    Hello all
    How to fetch Quartile and Comp Ratio columns which are present in Enter and maintain -> Assignment screen -> Salary screen.Are they direct columns from any table or calculation columns.
    Someone please suggest me how to fetch those columns
    Thanks in advance

    Can anyone help me in writing a procedure/dynamic SQL to fetch the column where the junk values appears and its value. Eg: If emp table contains ID and Name columns, and ID column contains junk values, the result should be the Id column and the junk value/s. It should be dynamic because next time if the other column contains junk values(like $,%...), the query should display the other column too..1. define "junk" values.
    2. usually it does not matter what values are in ID, because it is used internally by application, to maintain uniqueness or relations, not having any semantical meaning. End users usually should not see IDs, such IDs are generated automatically. There is no need to cleanse them from "junk" values.
    3. If you made a typo, and you are looking for "junk" values in Name column, it is a different story. You can use TRANSLATE to search such values, as already advised, translating all "junk" characters to one "junk" character and searching for the latter.
    select id, name from T where translate(name,'?@#$%^<>','~~~~~~~~~') like '%~%';

  • What is the diff b/w logical query and physical query?

    Thanks In advance

    In OBIEE terms the logical query is how you query the BI Server, the Presentation services sends logical SQL to the BI Server, you can also write your own using JDBC , pull from BI Server using ODI etc.
    The BI Server engine takes this logical query and writes (a number of) phyiscal querie(s) to satisfy the logical request, depeninding on how your BMM and Physical layer is setup. There are a number of rules the BI Server evaluates before deciding the most appropriate Physical query to generate, rules include Physical Joins, Aggregate tales / Hierarchy levels and so on.
    Hope this helps,
    Good luck with interview :-)

  • Datatype : 25 not supported error while saving Logical Query in BIP Dataset

    Hi All,
    I have created a nested logical Query in OBIEE Publisher Datamodel using parameters.
    Here is the simple query :
    Select name, revenue, date from
    select "SubjectAreaName"."TableName"."Name" name,
    case when :Date > date '2012-01-01' then "SubjectAreaName"."TableName"."Revenue" else NULL end Revenue,
    date date
    from
    "SubjectAreaName"
    where
    date = :Date
    ) T1
    Note - :Date is the parameter. When I try saving this dataset as-is, it throws me Datatype : 25 not supported error. But, when i replace the parameter :Date with actual date, then the query works. Also, the inner query works with or without parameters. The issue arises when I use the outer query and the parameters.
    Please let me know if you have come across such a problem ?
    Any help on this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Swarna

    ya i can understand we wont do the sql logic at the data model part as some time performance issue may come when comparaed to sql run in package and sql running in data model . so i have mostly done using package and i will just do select * from table in the data set of data model so i didn't face any issue's like this .
    once check this tutorial may be you already
    i use to create parameters like this i didn't face any issue
    SELECT * from TEST where ID=:p_id

  • Moving average price calculation logic of material with Price Control "S"

    Dear Gurus,
    As you know that there is a Moving price and standard price icon in the material master.
    I want to understand the calculation logic of the moving average price of the materials having price control "S"
    How the system calculates the MAP for standard price materials? The receipt from the process order I suppose is valuated at the process order cost after settlement, but if the issue has hapened for the material does the system recalculate the issue price also?
    Below is the sample process order receipt and issue scenario:
    Receipt from process order 161000000223
    300 kg and GR at standard cost value is Rs 5892
    Issue to process order 162000000294
    250 kg and GI at standard cost value is Rs 4910.
    Thus the balance at period end is 50 kg and balance at standard cost value is Rs 982.
    Here in process order 161000000223 the actual cost is 10 Rs. Then how will the system calculate the MAP?
    Thanking You,
    Amit Dhanurdhari

    Hi
    Try the following calculations,
    One of them will work depending upon your version and support pack
    Expected MAP calculation ( As with price control V)
    = ((Qty before transaction*MAP + Transaction Qty * transaction
    Price)) / quantity after transaction
    New Method ( when price control is S)
    = Old MAP + (Price Variance w.r.t Standard Price/Qty after transaction)

  • Ratio calculation issue

    Hello,
    i am stuck up in building a report thru Report Painter from GRR1.
    The report involves ratio calculation like debt-equity, RONW, etc..
    In the Lead column, i have put various selection parameters like Fiscal Year, Co Code, Period etc which is working fine.
    However, i am not able to build a formula based on the Period parameter as i am not able to access the value entered by user in the Period field. What could be the problem?.
    i want to use the period value to do some additional calculation on the ratios for giving annual effect. i tried putting a new variable, but was not successful. Can anyone please suggest/guide. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rajesh,
    First of all I see syntax error in the provided formula:
    ((([ACCOUNT].[ACCOUNT1],[PRODUCT].CurrentMember)*1000)/([ACCOUNT].[ACCOUNT2],[PRODUCT].[PARENTH2].[]TOTAL_EXCL_C))
    And also, try to remove PARENTH2 reference (and ACCOUNT - not required):
    (([ACCOUNT1]*1000)/([ACCOUNT2],[PRODUCT].[TOTAL_EXCL_C]))

  • Date calculation In query

    I am doing a date difference calculation on two date characteristics, i am doing this at the query level. For each date characteristics i have created a formula variable. I have then created a CKF and i have used these formula variable in that CKF to get the date difference. I am getting the date difference correctly if there are dates in both the Date 1 and Date 2 characteristics, But if either one of the date field is blank i am getting wierd value.
    Date1-------   Date2 -
         Difference
    9/20/2008----   9/15/2008----      5
    #Blank--   9/15/2008--      -733,301
    #Blank--   9/12/2008--      -733,298
    I know this problem can be sorted by writing a ABAP routine in the update rule, but i dont want that solution as i want these CKF to be created by the users.
    Points will be awarded.

    Hi RAO,
    I used your logic and it is working for the blank values but it is giving me a wrong result for the condition in which i have both the dates.
    Condition 1
    9/25/2008 - 9/12/2008 = -13
    It should be 13.
    Condition 2
    Blank - 9/12/2008 = 0
    I want the result for this to be blank.

  • Calculation result query

    Hi all,
    I have a query with the following key figure:
    ZCOUNT    Counter of the order items
    X = Y/Z   global calculated key figure
    A = X/ZCOUNT
    I need the following result in my query:
             X  ZCOUNT A
             50       10    5
             30        5     6
    result 80       15    5,33
    but the real result is not as above in the example because in the result row the system don't use the formula A = X/ZCOUNT
    Why?
    How can I do please?
    Gianmarco

    Hi Gianmarco,
    I hope that key figure A you have created is a local one.
    Ususallly whatever formula we specify's in a key figure that's also applicable to result row as well untill unless we dont specify anything in 'Calculate result as ' in calculation tab of calculated key figure.
    So please check this that you are not having total or any other option selected in Calculate result as option.
    We need not to do anything extra for ur above requirement as the same thing is a very normal thing expected by customer's and logically correct as well. We also have done for many of our customers by creating local key figures and choosing 'Nothing defined' in calculation tab and that worked absolutely fine.
    Thanks

  • Key Figure Calculation in Query

    Gurus,
    How do i calcculate below  in query  basically i have 3 KF as dates below and want a CKF or formula variable
    which calculates A - (IF B Not Empty then take B  or else take C.)
    Z = A - if (B != " '', B, C)
    A = Key Figure
    B = Key Figure
    C = Key Figure
    thanks

    HI Zuben,
    To acheive this
    calculates A - (IF B Not Empty then take B or else take C.)
    Z = A - if (B != " '', B, C)
    A = Key Figure
    B = Key Figure
    C = Key Figure
    Try this !!!!!!!
    If u create a  CKF,u will have operators in it,in that choose Boolean Operators,again in that chose
    1)is not equal to
    and
    2)Equal to.
    for ur calculations.
    Z= Calculated Key Figure.
    Z= A - (B NE 0)B + ( B EQ 0)C
    Case One -- B NE 0
    Z= A-(1 * B)+0
    Z = A-B
    Case Two -- B EQ 0
    Z= A-(0 * B)+(1*C)
    Z = A-C
    I guess this is your requirement.

  • Help needed in creating a calculated keyfigure/query exit

    Hi Reporting Gurus
    Please someone give me a solution for my issue.
    I have two keyfigures
    Plan Finish Date(PFD)
    Actual Finish Date(AFD)
    I have one calculated keyfigure
    Delivery Status = (AFD<=PFD) .  When this condition is met it returns ‘1’ else ‘0’.
    But Delivery Status = (AFD<=PFD)  returns ‘1’  if AFD and PFD both exists and if the condition is met and also works (returns ‘1’) for the scenarios mentioned  below.
    1.     if AFD is blank and PFD is filled
    2.     if AFD and PFD both is blank.
    So I need  a solution for my issue in such a way that
    Delivery Status = (AFD<=PFD)  should return ‘1’ only if AFD and PFD both exists and only if AFD<=PFD.
    For rest of all the scenarios my calculated keyfigure should return ‘0’ , i.e.,
    1.if AFD is blank and PFD is filled
    2.if AFD and PFD both is blank.
    3.if AFD is filled and PFD is blank.
    How to achieve this?
    Should I have to write a customer exit variable and incorporate ABAP codes or should I have to write VB macros or can we have a calculated keyfigure with a necessary logic or is there any other way to achieve it.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Have a nice day
    Regards
    Sam

    You can create a new calculated key figure which calculates the result which looks as follows...
    =  ((AFD<>0) AND (PFD<>0) AND (AFD<=PFD)) * 1 + 0
        Please check the syntax when done. You can refer to the below link for more info abt using IF ELSE operations in calculated keyfigures. Please let me know if you come across any issues.

  • Percentage Calculation in Query

    Hi Gurus,
      Hope you are all doing good! I have an issue in my query. I have calculated the summation of Profit for 05 and 06 . In the properties these are the specification i have given :
    1.Scaling Factor : 1,000,000
    2.Number of Decimal Place : 0.0
    3.Calculate Result As : Summation
        I get the summation for both 05 and 06 correctly. I computed the percentage for
    both and seems to be fine.
    Formula used for computing percentage : ' / Profit 06' / ' / Profit 05' * 100
    My issue being the Over all percentage seems to be high.
    Any idea Gurus?
    Points would be surely assigned.
    Regards,
    Sunitha.R

    Hi Norris Silva,
    As per your scenario total questions = 11
    persons (c1, c2, c3, c4, c5) = 5
    c1 answered questions = 5
    c2  "          "      = 5
    c3  "          "      = 1
    here to calculate the percentage of answered questions
    for each person. This can be calculated as below with use of
    calculated key figure
    c1's % ---> ci1 answered questions/total questions * 100
             5/(551)*100= 45.45%
    like write formula in calculated key figure for each person.
    Hope it helps you...
