  • Embedded WLS and JDev 12.1.2: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

This problem happens after about 10-15 application restarts during development phase. I have read somewhere that this was a known bug in 11g versions of JDev and its integrated WLS (10.3.5 or 10.3.6?). I have then increased memory parameters in configuration file. The only thing I achieved is that this crash now occurs later then sooner. Still very frustrating. When this happens I have to restart WLS and sometimes kill frozen JDeveloper.
    Any other idea/workaround?

  • How to install BPEL on WLS and JDEV 11g/WLS

Can somebody pls point me to a paper "How to install BPEL (Designer, Server, etc.) on WLS" ?!
I downloaded 80 MB BPEL (Orabpel_10133_WebLogic.zip), unzipped it, but it does not container a "read.me"...
I like to install the BPEL part for the JDEV - is that the right one ?
Or do I need to install the whole SOA Suite (incl. BPEL Server) (570 MB) - but this seem to be based on OC4J?
The core question: which (download) components do I need to install BPEL on WLS to make it run and usable ?
    TIA
    Bernhard

Here is the readme you may be after
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10291_01/doc.1013/e12534/toc.htm
This is an old release. There is now 10.1.3.4, but I don't believe the stand alone BPEL is supported. You need to install the full SOA Suite. The doc for this is
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/core.1013/e13058/toc.htm
You need to install the Oracle version first then port it. This is all changing in 11g, hopefully due soon.
I recommend the latter as it provides more functionality around patching.
Also SOA Suite or BPEL is on certified against 9.2 not 10.3 so you cannot use it against JDev 11g. Your JDev version must be in sync with your SOA Suite version.
    cheers

  • Connection to the external WLS from JDev

    Hi,
    I am with Jdev 11.1.1.5
I am getting trouble creating a connection to the admin weblogic server runnig on the same box.
I was trying to do this from within doing from within my tutorial BPM project while creating a new user under Organization node.
Once all names and credentials are supplied upon testing the connection I am getting
    Testing JSR-160 Runtime ... failed.
    Cannot establish connection.
    Testing JSR-160 DomainRuntime ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88 ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88-LOCAL ... skipped.
    Testing JNDI ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-160 Edit ... skipped.
    Testing HTTP ... success.
Testing Server MBeans Model ... skipped.
    Testing HTTP Authentication ... success.
    2 of 9 tests successful.
The admin wls server that I was trying to create connection to is up and running and accessible as I verified.
Could someone please indicate what the problem may be?
I thought I should be able to create application server conneciont through Application Resources / Connections but only options from right-click on Connecitons-->New I am seeing are:
    Database
    BAM
    JMX
    SOA-MDS
    URL
    WebDAV
    WSIL
I am not seeing Application Server option as I think used to be the way in 11.1.1.6 though I may be missing something.
    Thank you

  • Where to set Java system parameter for embedded WLS in JDev 11g?

    Hi,
I am trying to test web service invocation via JAX-WS proxy generation on Jdeveloper 11g.
When I test client code, I got following error message.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Jaxrpc 1.1 method is not supported.
         at weblogic.webservice.core.rpc.ServiceFactoryImpl.loadService(ServiceFactoryImpl.java:65)
From a forum discussion, it was suggested to add following java parameter in the path.
    -Ddebug=true -Djavax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.client.ServiceFactoryImpl -Djavax.xml.soap.SOAPConnectionFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.client.p2p.HttpSOAPConnectionFactory -Djavax.xml.soap.SOAPFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.soap.SOAPFactoryImpl-Dweblogic.log.Log4jLoggingEnabled=true -Djbo.debugoutput=console
I can not find where to set this parameter under "Tools"->"Preferences". Is there any place in IDE that I can set this value?
    Thanks for the help,
    Jim

The parameters are defined in the Run configuration of your application. You find the Run configuration in the project properties under run. Open the 'Default' configuration, there you find the java properties where you put the parameters.

  • Intigrate JSF 2.0 into JDev 11.1.2.1 Application

My WLS 10.3 administrator called with a request. He asked if I could ingetrate the JSF 2.0 library into my JDev 11.1.2.1 application so that he would not have to install JSF 2.0 on the WLS (a new WLS maching that he will soon be setting up). He said that WLS comes with JSF 1.2 and that he would need to install JSF 2.0 and that it is very painful.
Can I integrate JSF 2.0 into my application and avoid having to install JSF 2.0 in the new WLS being set up?
Would it make any since to do so?
Why does WLS come with JSF 1.2 rather than JSF 2.0?
    Thank you, Steve

JSF 2.0 is only one part of the adf framework. You need a lot more. All this is done when you (or your admin) installs the adf runtime needed for your version. Let me say it again:
To run an ADF Application on a wls server without the adf runtime installed will not work!
Putting all adf libs in the ear isn't a solution either! Ear would grow too big and you still have to to some wiring to make it work.
Installing the adf runtime is done with an installer. How hard is it to execute an installer?
In case of 11.1.2.1 your admin first needs to install the adf runtime 11.1.1.6, then you need two patches which you get via support, and install the patches.Installing all this should not take longer than a couple of hours for a simple WebLogic server. IF you are running a whole farm with many servers it takes longer.
Again, if you want to run adf application on a wls you must install the adf runtime on the wls!
Keep in mind that there is a strong relationship between wls version, jdev version and adf runtime version. They must match, otherwise you get errors at some point. For a list of these version refer to my blog http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/jdeveloper-versions-vs-weblogic-server-versions/

  • How do I manage Integrated Web Logic server with JDev?

I need to change admin password on WebLogic Server (for the weblogic admin) and do it from JDev so that start/stop of weblogic server is possible. How do I do it? Continuing, how do I manage WLS from JDev?
Note that I am able to view the application server using view->Application Server Navigator and expand the integrated application server. At this stage, I want I can right click on the application server and launch the admin console. In the authentication tab, the passwords are "grayed" out. I want to reset the password for this weblogic server. The question is how do I do that?
    Edited by: 975250 on Dec 5, 2012 2:50 PM

    Hi,
There is no way to change password from the JDev configuration.
It should be done directly from WLS.
You can change the password @ WLS side and include the WLS into Jdev.
Here is the following way to change current password.
1.- Take the back of the LDAP folder of the admin server as well as managed server (you may rename those folders) and then delete the actual LDAP folder (found at servers\<MyServer>\data\ldap).
    2. Make sure WebLogic instance is down.
    3. Set your environment variables using setDomainEnv.sh.
    4. cd to security directory in your instance.
    (eg: $WL_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/security)
    5. Run:
    java weblogic.security.utils.AdminAccount admin_user admin_pass .
Remember to change “admin_user” and “admin_pass” to your need.
Also, don’t forget the period “.” at the end of the above command, it is required.
    6. After running the command, the file “DefaultAuthenticatorInit.ldift” will get updated.
    7. Delete the following file from “ldap” folder:
    cd WL_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap
    rm DefaultAuthenticatormyrealmInit.initialized
    8. Go to folder DOMAIN_HOME/servers/AdminServer/security
    9. Edit the boot.properties file and change the password to the value already used on step 5. Do this for all the servers in the domain.
    10. Start Weblogic Server (Weblogic Server will encrypt the password for you).
    Regards,
    Kal

  • ADF application deployment to standalone WLS

    Hello everyone,
I developed a small ADF app within JDeveloper (JDev 11g Rel 1-- 11.1.1.3.0) and have been deploying it onto the Integrated WLS with JDev.
I'm now trying to deploy it onto a standalone WLS domain on another machine. This WLS is of the latest release. I packaged my app into an EAR file, added the deployment descriptors, etc.
Within the WLS admin console, when I try to start the deployment (i.e. activate changes) for this EAR, I get this error after activation:
[J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. Unresolved application library references, defined in weblogic-application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].
I understand it's a problem with not recognizing adf.oracle.domain, but JDev's help documents (Section 36.3.3) say to ensure that my weblogic-application.xml file has a reference to adf.oracle.domain.
If anyone has any comments about this error and how to fix it, that would be much appreciated.
Also, if there is a more appropriate forum to ask this in, please let me know.
    Thanks so much,
    Janelle

    Janelle,
Did you create the ADF domain in the WLS server? Also, you can directly deploy from JDeveloper once you have the appropriate deployment descriptors.

  • You are my only hope...

I'm very disappointed of WLS (and JDeveloper). Coming from a SJAS background I find that WLS does not enjoy even half the community support of SJAS, and the worst thing is that even WebLogic isn't making a big deal of documentation.
So in wan to secure a webapp. (Fusion webapp) against a database list of users/groups. I looked into it and found about SQLAuthenticator. I said to my self what a great thing... no more need to write my own LoginModule to do that. So I begun to google it to find anything about it... how to use it ( it is not any good if i know: -'hey I can do this! -how? -... silence), but nothing useful.
I kept on going ... I've done a webapp. I wrote a <realm-name> tag in web.xml, I've made a realm on the embedded WLS on jdev (having as provider SQLAuthenticator) ... and run the app. I tried to access a protected resource ... been redirected to login... then entered credentials ... redirected to error page.
Same stuff with DefautAuthenticator(users/roles configured) .... it works...
I've looked into Diagnostics > Log Files > DomainLog nothing
how can I trace the login process?
I need some example how to use this feature, how to configure JDeveloper (this JPS thing is confusing me). I've noticed ( I think this is correct) that in JDev you make users/roles into a jazn-data.xml(this is no good for me because not the developer should establish the users and their passwords, and second this kind of info should be dynamic) that after deploy it is merged into WLS's default realm.
Help me with any link(or anything) that you think it will help me solve this.
    Thanks,
    Florin POP
I apologize for my inappropriate exposure of things, it must be that for three days I'm dazzling in circles about one thing that's a simple task.

Well what I understood after going through your mail is that you want to develop your own Database Login Module for Weblogic container managed security.
Weblogic's security provider architecture is MBean based, if you are going to develop your own provider it should have a corresponding MBean implementation. Weblogic installation comes with tool that will generate necessary MBean deployment files and implementations for you.
You have to go through the following steps -
    1. First of all you need to create the runtime classes for your Custom Authentication Provider
    - In your case first of all you need to implement JAAS javax.security.auth.spi.LoginModule interface (here inside login() method you have to implement your authentication logic)
    - Implement weblogic.security.spi.AuthenticationProviderV2 interface, please be careful while implementing getLoginModuleConfiguration method and here remember to specify the your custom LoginModule while forming javax.security.auth.login.AppConfigurationEntry and returning it. Also please specify the proper JAAS control flag.
    2. Now create an MBean Definition File (MDF) which is basically an xml file containing the MBean definition. (you didn't specify which version of Weblogic Server you are using, assuming Weblogic 10 you may refer this documentation while developing MDF http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/dvspisec/mdf_ref.html).
Run this MDF through Weblogic MBean maker to generate the MBean implementation and intermediate Java files.
    3. Once this dynamic class generation is over and you have finished editing the MBean implementation file you need to package them in form of a jar file(MJF) using MBeanMaker.
    4. Copy the MJF into the WL_HOME\server\lib\mbeantypes directory and restart the server.
Now you please login to your Weblogic server admin console click on the default realm, you will get this CustomAuthenticator listed as soon as you are trying to configure a new provider for the realm.
And regarding the tracing of login process you may use weblogic.logging.NonCatalogLogger APIs to send messages to the WebLogic server log.
    thanks,
    Subhasis.

  • Help! web.xml security without using WAR files

I'm currently using the RDBMSRealm and URL ACL security for my app. I would like to use the web.xml descriptor for security so that I can specify login pages and such. We currently are not using WAR files. I've been having alot of trouble setting this up. Is there a way to use the RDBMS realm along with the web.xml security? It looks like it should work, but I can't seem to get it to function. How do I specify the regular document root as a webapp? I'm currently running WLS 5.1 with SP4. Thanks.

The RDBMSRealm is just the authentication mechanism underneath WLS versus the
web.xml of the WebApplication which describes all the access control for that WebApp.
the later being scoped only to that WebApp.
you don't need to deploy in a war file, you can expand the archive into an identical
directory structure and then just point us towards the top level of that structure.

I have migrated the website assets ,created on site studio 10 g R4 to 11g R1,but I'm not able to see these assets when I'm trying to connect using site studio 11g and there is no error in the logs as well
Moreover the dynamic listing used doesn't show ant results on the page.
Has any one any similar issue?
    Kindly help me with this.
    TIA

    Hi
What is the userid/password you used ? You should be using weblogic/weblogic1 as the combination if your site is deployed to the internal WLS of JDEV . Try this out and see .
    Thanks

  • Problems during deploy of an EAR with MDS enabled

I am trying to deploy an EAR with MDS enabled (file-repository) to a WLS cluster, but I get this error:
weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/xliffBundles" mapped to metadata-store-usage "MAR_TargetRepos" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration.
Why does it happen? What should I check/do to solve the problem?
Note that the deploy of the same EAR to the integrated WLS in Jdev works without exceptions.
    Thanks

When i tried to deploy the application using Jdeveloper Deployment Wizard, it prompts me a popup for 'Deployment Configuration' where we need to specify Respository Name, Respository Type, Partition Name, path/JNDI Info. I selected proper values and deployed, the applcation is deployed perfectly and works fine.
But when i try to deploy the application using build.xml file, its error out as show below
weblogic.application.ModuleException: :oracle.mds.config.MDSConfigurationException:MDS-01335: namespace "/xliffBundles" mapped to metadata-store-usage "MAR_TargetRepos" but its definition was not found in MDS configuration.

  • Installing Web center suite 11g on Mac OS

    Hi All,
did anybody tried to install Web center suite 11g on Mac Os snow leopard? I have modified runInstaller bash file to run installer on Mac but all in vain. I have tried to put PLATFORMID=Linux and changed CMDDIR, but now it's cant run runInstaller from Linux directory "cannot execute binary file"
May be anybody have any idea to install.
    Thank'x in advance
    Shamim

Inside the owfm_wc_generic_11.1.1.4.0_disk1_1of1/Disk1/install folder there is the "runInstaller" script which builds the appropriate command line options to execute the appropriate "runInstaller" binary stored within platform-specific sub-folders. (eg. owfm_wc_generic_11.1.1.4.0_disk1_1of1/Disk1/install/linux64/runInstaller)
Non of these binaries work on OS X, and I wouldn't expect them to. Too bad the WC installer is a compiled binary instead of java code like the WLS or JDev installs.
As for always using VMs, I normally agree. Exceptions to the "rule" seem appropriate when that service is to be shared across multiple VMs and/or workstation-based development IDEs. This is why I run a DB (Oracle 10g express) and LDAP server (OpenDS) directly on OS X. This way I can really run JDev and WC portal development locally (minus UCM, etc...) without having to spin-up a VM every single time.
