Compensation Workbench Combination Plan

Hi All,
We are trying to setup the combination plan. And we are stuck at budgets and rates.
We have two options Merit and Bonus. Requirement is to deduct the budget for both
options from same single budget. So do we need to create distribution and worksheet
budgets on plan level or option in plan level. Found something for component plan setup.
Compensation Workbench Rate and Budget Overview [ID 369711.1].
But could not find something similar for Combination plan.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Regards

Unfortunately I can't help you on questions 1-3, but for question #4 I believe you are on the right track. See below.
4. While setting up Plan enrollment Requirements > Timing, the dates are really confusing
a. Availablity Period - Plan will be available during this period? - Yes this is the period of time you want the plan to be accessible (update or read only) in MSS.
b. Assigned Life Event date - life event will evaluating the eligibilty and rates as of this date? - this is the "as of" date that the data is pulled (title, salary etc as of that date).
c. Year Period - ? - For us this is just a display field - it will show the managers what year they are doing the evaluation for. It doesn't factor into any of the calculations.
d. Self Service update period - Avalibility of the plan for changes through self-service? - this is the period you want the plan to be open for updates. This only controls the dates, you need to handle the individual managers access via the Employee Administration function in CWB. Managers will still be able to view the data as read only after this date, depending on what dates you used for the Availability Period.
e. Assignment change become effective dates - Increase and bonus will be effective as of this date? - Yes, assuming you have the post process set up to pull that field for the effective date. We fill it in but it is ignored because we have another custom post process that we can fill in the effective date as a parameter when we submit the process.
The Availability Period and Self Service Update Period dates can be altered after you run the plan.

  • How to add more summary data in the MIP of Compensation workbench

    Hi all,
In the MIP (incentive plan) of the compensation workbench, we need to add more summary data in the summary section. I checked that all the summary data in that section are stored in the table 'ben_cwb_summary'.
Even we can change the VIEW object for that page (using extension), we can't retrieve it because the new summary data/information we need to add are not stored in the table 'ben_cwb_summary'. We need to write our query to summerize data.
    How to implement it?
    Thanks in advanced!

  • Strange XMLP implementation on HRMS Compensation Workbench

We are looking to create reports off the Compensation Workbench (CWB). As it follows from the viewlet found in the Metalink Note 311702.1, XMLP is implemented for the CWB in some pretty strange fashion not described anywhere in the XMLP documentation.
User is shown to create an rtf template. The tags' names, however, are not related to any XML file, but can be picked as the user likes. Upon uploading the template, the user is presented a screen on which he has to match his tags with the available data fields. Something resembling the process with PDF templates, but it is not.
The underlying XML file is created somehow behind the screen, and only for a single employee, so we can not create any reports, say, with the list of employees. So the questions:
    What is this XMLP impementation?
Where is that XML file to which the tags are referred?
How can we change the file?
If not, is there other ways to run reports from the CWB?
    Thanks a lot.

In step -1 Ensure you have the following infrastructure pre-reqs installed and you are a FULL Legislative HRMS customer
    ·         Oracle HR (PER) product installation status: Full
    ·         Release 12.1.3 or later
    What it is mean ?
    License E-Business Suite:Add-ons page i am seeing
    Self-service Human Resources
    Advanced Benefits
    Compensation Workbench
    iRecruitment
    Payroll
    Performance Management
    Time & Labor
    HR Intelligence
    Succession Planning
Already selected.  Do i need to change any thing here ?
If these modules are selected, then you are good. Nothing else needs to be done (assuming you are licensed to use all of these modules).
And i want to install legislation for Singapore. Which patch i have to apply the pre requisites before applying the hrglobal.drv.
Depends on what your current HR patch level is - run the script in MOS Doc 453632.1 to determine this. Choose the column for your patch level in the table and check the key beneath the table for any patches you may need to apply.
And also i am using external tier for (iReqruitment). So do I need to apply this HRMS Legislative Data Patch and prerequisites in both tiers ?

  • Restricted Access in Compensation Workbench based on Security Profile

Customer does not want the HR Professional to access at other team's data even when using Switch Manager in the below scenario.
    1) 2 CWB Plans (CWB Plan for A, CWB Plan for B) are built based on Supervisor Hierarchy. Each of the CWB plan is for a set of organisations for e.g a plan for Organisation 'A' and another for Organisation 'B'.
    2) HR Professionals have a security Profile which restricts them to view employees in either 'A or 'B' organisation.
    3) Switch Manager is enabled for the 'Compensation Workbench Administrator'
    4) There exists a common manager who manages people from 'A' and from 'B'
    5) When HR Professional (who is in the A organisation) switches as the Manager in point (4), he gets to see the details of the 'CWB Plan for B' along with the 'CWB Plan for A' even though the people in the B plan are not part of the HR Professional's security Profile

    Hi,
    Thanks alot. its working fine
Can we configure DCL Relation two times in one information filed ??? i should not create not more than fields to this requirement.
Type -> subtype = DCL already existed
Now, i want to Create DCL to
    Subtype ---> Security group
As per my requirement, if i change the security group in checkin form, values should be change in the SubType drop down list.
Created checkin profile there was DCL relation to " Type and "Sub Type" . now i want to map Relation ( DCL ) for subtype to security group.
i was trying do for DCL for subtype and security group. but there was already existing DCL created for subtype information field (Relation configuration done for content type). even though i was trying to do for DCL in Security group information field. but, i could not find security group information field in configuration manager.
Now what should i do ?? how to create DCL to subtype and security group ??

  • Setting Global Budget in compensation workbench

    Hi
I have configured CWB R12. I need to know how to set a global company budget for distribution to all managers.
I have configured and assigned a Budget Manager and a Compensation manager role.
Eg. The company has awarded 8% of total salaries to salary increases. I need to cascade 8% default to all managers to distribute to their directs.
    regards
    Mahomed Adam

    Debojyoty:
Are you set up, or do you have managers who are set up with direct reports who are eligible for your compensation plans? Have you run the Participation Process: Compensation Workbench? You will need to have met both of those requirements before this will work for you. (I'm assuming you set up your tasks as part of your overall setup, per this Metalink Note.)
You will also need to go through and set the budget as the Highest-Level Manager, then you can use the Switch Manager functionality to begin allocating your budgets to your managers. After that, switch to a manager and then do your allocations.
Let me know if any of this helps. Best of luck to you!
    Take care,
    Mark

  • Need to stop Email Notification only from Compensation workbench

    Hi All,
I Need to stop Email Notification only from Compensation workbench, if is there any possiblility kindly guide me guys as I am stuck up due to this.
    Regards,

    Hi,
I can see two CWB workflows - bencwbfy.wft and benssenrtfyi.wft. These are available under $BEN_TOP. You can open these workflows through the Oracle Workflow Builder and note down their workflow names. Thereafter, you can download the definitions of these workflows (most current workflows from the database) from the database through the concurrent program - Workflow Definitions Loader - which should result in the wft files on the destination you've provided running the concurrent program.
Copy those files from the server, and edit them locally using Workflow Definitions Loader to remove or redirect workflow notifications appropriately. Please be aware that this amounts to a customization so you should evaluate the impacts of doing this on your installation. Also, for CWB to support custom workflow, my understanding is that you need to be at Family Pack J or above (you may wish to validate this through Support, though).

  • CWB Issue - Compensation Workbench

    Issue in brief:
We are able to do the compensation allocations once in the period....But how to do MULTIPLE compensation allocations in the same period (after the 'post compenstion process is run..)
    Eg.
    Availability period- 01-OCT-2008- 30-SEP-2009
Manager has assigned done the compensation review for 5 employees out of his 7 employees on 01-oct-2008. Now the 'Post Compensation Process' is run on 02-oct-2008. The changes are posted to the 5 employee records.
Now in middle of the availability period, say on 01-mar-2009, manager requires to give compensation awards to the remaining 2 employees.
    Issue 1:
After running the 'Participation Process: Compensation Workbench' as Effective date of 01-mar-2009, the manager cannot make any updates to the 2 employees who were left out on 01-oct-2008. The manager has Full Access!Still he cannot make any assignment changes or the salary increase
Issue 2: Manager also thinks of giving compensation award to 3 employees on say on 01-JUN-2009 out of those 5 employees who were already given compensation award on 01-oct-2008. So how this functionality could be achieved.
Here we CANNOT use the multiple availability period because the BUDGET is allocated for the entire period from 01-oct-2008 to 30-sep-2009.
Please let me know if I need to clarify the issue.
    Appreciate your help..

Are all these updates happening to Salary ? In a typical implementation, post process is run after all the salary updates are done and no further updates are required. Your case seems to be a little different in this aspect. Please post a little more detail on the requirement.
    Answer:
There are two updates that the compensation manager does: 1) Assignment Changes (Usually changing the grade) 2) Salary.
    Issue is
    1) Once the compensation manager has done its changes and completed the 1st review...How can he do the review again with the remaining budget FOR THE LEFT OUT EMPLOYEES
    2) Once the compensation manager has done its changes and completed the 1st review...How can he do the review again with the remaining budget FOR THE EMPLOOYES WHO WERE GIVEN COMPENSATION IN THE FIRST CYCLE.
Do let me know if i need to explain...

  • CWB Component and Combination Plan

    Hi All,
I am going through user guide for CWB. I could not understand what is component and combination plan.If any one can explain with an example on usage that would be really great. Also how to decide for a client, in which scenario we should define cwb plan to update ratings at the same time and in which scenario we should create a separate plan only for rating. I mean how to decide.

An oversimplified definition would be as follows :
Component Plan - Mainly used for salary reviews where the salary has multiple components (or any other case where there are similar things being awarded)
Combination Plan - Used for multiple awards of different types at once Ex: Salary Increase, Stock Options (shares) and cash bonus at the same time.
Usually all components of a Component plan feed off the same budget. In combination plan, each has a different budget.
There are many other similarities and differences. Oracle's own documents on combination and component plans are very good. Please refer to the same.
As for ratings being posted along with the plan results, it is up to the business what updates are applied along with the CWB plans. As a thumb rule, if the award and rating activities are to be done together, they would be in the same plan.

Has anyone been able to successfully add a custom Discoverer CWB report that managers can run through Compensation Workbench?
If so, do you have any instructions on how to accomplish this?

  • Compensation Workbench Setup and Test Script document....

    Hi,
    For single system landscape..
Go 000, DDIC ... STMS--> here it will ask for domain controller -- give self domain --->   Domain controller has been assigned .
Now again  goto STMS> System overview>SAP SYSTEM >Create ->Virtual system- give name V<SID>
till this point your domain controller is created and virtual system is created .Next our aim is to setup STMS
again goto STMS>transport routes> change > configuration>statndard configuration ---> select second option (development and productino System ) because here your dev system will your own system and virtual system would be production  system .
---> pop up will come -> give DEV - SID and Productino SID- it willl  automatically create the route .
    Save this and exit.
This way We can set single system landscape.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Can AME use Role/Responsibility as approver for Compensation Workbench?

    Hi,
I would like to use AME to setup the Manager Hierarchy for Compensation Workbench.
Can AME return the approver group as Responsibility or Role? (currently AME return person id of the approver)
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    SC

AME Can return a User ID as opposed to a person Id but it cannot return a responsibility or role id (others on the forum can correct me if I'm wrong).
This restriction is not imposed by AME so much as Workflow which captures approval at the User level (and users can be linked to employees of course).

  • Effective start and end dates for a compensation workbench plan

    Hi all,
We are having a requirement where we want to get the data respective to current plan for reporting purposes. What i have noticed is there is no such thing as effective_start_date and effective_end_date directly in all the cwb tables.
The different dates we are looking at to capture the data are
    enrt_perd_start_dt and enrt_perd_end_dt
    upd_strt_dt and upd_end_dt
    within_yr_strt_dt and within_yr_end_dt
But we have same plan with different enrollment period and start dates. We are planning to use max(data_freeze_date or lf_evt_occrd_dt) to get
    the records.
    select max(nvl(bcpdx.data_freeze_date, bcpdx.lf_evt_ocrd_dt))
    from ben_cwb_pl_dsgn bcpdx
    where bcpdx.pl_id = p_pl_id)
Catch with this is, We have 62 business groups off which only 50 might run the plan next year and ohters might not. in that case it will also return data for all the BG's including the 12 BG's where plan has not been run for that year.
Any suggestions or help will greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Ankush,
I am also of the same opinion. Start and end dates can probably be enforced by a policy condition in AM but would lead to proliferation of policies as we would end up creating policies per role entitlement duration for a user.
Any thoughts on whether the sunrise/sunset concept of Identity Manager can be used for this requirement.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Compensation Workbench - how to delete plans

We've created a bunch of plans in CWB in the wrong country and are trying to remove them, however, we cannot seem to remove all the elements to eliminate the plans, does anyone know the proper sequence and how to do this?

I think, it is not possible to 'purge' plans. You can close them by changing the status. However, my advise would be to make them inactive for now and use them when a new plan is required (Rename/ change configuration etc. as required).
