Compiling iTunes Pluging .dll file

Hi,
I'm trying to just test the plugin that came with the visual plugin SDK. The .dll file that was provided works fine in iTunes. When I go to compile it myself using Borland C++ compiler iTunes doesn't recognize my .dll file.
I compile it with the following command : bcc32 -WDR iTunesPlugIn.c iTunesAPI.c
-WDR is the flag that lets me create a .dll file. I noticed that my dll file is only 11 kb and the dll provided is 54 kb.
Anyone know why this could be?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new iTunes but it still will not work. I keep getting the error mesage relating to MSVCR80.dll, the installation error 7 (windows error 126). I have tried moving and removing the dll files including the QTMovie dll

Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
Hey presto!!!
IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
Nuff said.

Itunes update failed on 2 computers, couldn't find msvcr80.dll files.Now have no itunes at all

Everything was working fine on both computers - Consolidated the library on the external drive and did the Change the location of the iTunes Media folder in Preferences on both computers, no problem.

Is there a way to add them to the library listing on the laptop? If yes, is that something I need to do every time I connect the external drive to the laptop if I've added things from the desktop computer (I never add stuff on the laptop).

Updated itunes, error message about mobile popped up during installation, then after installation, tunes will not start. gives error that a dll file is missing.

I downloaded the new Itunes version. During installation, there was an error message that said no Mobile access. After installation, Itunes would not open. Gave an error message that a DLL file was not found. Removed itunes from computer and initiated new download. Same problem with new download. Still does not open. I'm stumped. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:

Just started getting an APS Daemon.exe-System Error saying my MSVCR80.dll file is missing. I tried to reinstall itunes, but got another error message. Anyone having this problem or know how to fix it?

I keep on getting the message "missing .dll file" when I try to install Itunes on Windows 7 what is wrong ?

I am using Windows 7 (64) and keep on getting the message of "missing .dll files" after I attempt to install the latest version of ITunes. I attempted to install an earlier version and had the same results. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes to no avail. I have queried this message on Google and found little to go by.
Can anyone help from here ?

This has just happened to me - again. Can't think what caused it. I uninstalled Quicktime a little while ago, maybe connected? I don't know. Uninstalling iTunes, or repairing, or a fresh iTunes install does not help
Even if you keep downloading and putting the dll files it keeps asking for in the sysWOW64 and/or System 32 folder, Apple Mobile Device Support will not not 'start' from Services.
Anyway, as well as itunes, you need to also un-install Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Bonjour, then reinstall the latest iTunes to get it all working again

Although you're getting a different error message, try the procedure from the following user tip with that one:

Here is a solution that worked for a user who also had a problem with iTunes Software Support. This thread was for a win32 version, but Maybe this is the problem for both of you?:
IT appears that AppleApplicationSupport.msi, is not opening and installing properly.
Download and SAVE iTunesSetup.exe, where you can find it.
Then:
1. Download and install WinRAR.
2. Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe icon and choose "Open with WinRAR".
3. Once the EXE is opened in WinRAR, double-click AppleApplicationSupport.msi and when the installer window is open choose "Repair".
4. Done! You can now run iTunes normally.

And, of course, on startup, a window opens with the error and tells me find QTMovie.dll and delete it because this may be the source of the hangup. Also, in trying to delete iTunes, I get the additional message that I must get approval from the System Administrator to take this action. I am the System Administrator.

The other day I was prompted to update itunes. I started to, and it crashed my itunes. Then I tried to uninstall itunes, so that I could turn around and re-install it again. Now I can not install itunes. I get Runtime Error! message. R6034. For the last two hours I have tried deleting itunes, moving the .dll files to the desktop, restarting the computer (more times than I can count), deleting the temp files, updating my internet explorer, using the fix it program,.....
The two messages that I am getting are:
Runtime Error! Program:c\Program Files (x86)\itunes\Tunes.exe R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the c runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Also: Service to 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Moblie Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priviledges to start system services.

I too was getting the same message regarding R6034. After many frustrating hours I went to the iTunes support page and clicked on "install and update." When that page came up I scrolled on to "removing and reinstalling iTunes......" There they tell you what files need to be removed and what order to do it in so you can reinstall iTunes. My iTunes works now and I didn't lose any music.
About the Apple Mobile Device, well that's one of the files that has to be uninstalled. When you reinstall iTunes the Apple Mobile Device is automatically reinstalled.
Hope this works for you as it did for me. Warning: it takes about an hour to do all this.
