Compiling the basic invoke example

Hello everybody!
I need your help :p
Sorry for my english, I'm french...
I just want to call java method from a c++ program. I've read that JNI do that, so I tryed to compile the basic example "invoke" (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jni/html/invoke.html#11202).
I created my java class, and my .c program like indicate, and tryed to compile it.
But there is always error :
[quentin]96% gcc -o invoke -l/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.u11/include/
-L/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.u11/jre/lib/i386/ invoke.c -ljvm

/usr/lib/gcc/i586-suse-linux/4.3/include/jni.h
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.u11/include/jni.hI have already try this :
[quentin]94% gcc -c -l/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.u11/include/
-L/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.u11/jre/lib/i386/ invoke.c -ljvmIt works but :
[quentin]94% gcc -o invoke invoke.o
invoke.o: In function `main':

collect2: ld a retourné 1 code d'état d'exécutionor :

collect2: ld a retourné 1 code d'état d'exécutionI don't know what I did wrong...
Have you any idea ?
Thank you.
Yours.
edit : of course I work with linux (SUZE)

Yeah I think I'm okay with it.
But I have still the same problem : all that I want is calling a java method with an int in parameter, and I can't.
this method :
public class Point
     public static int pointX(int x)
          System.out.println(x);
          return x;
}I tryed this :
#include <jni.h>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
#define PATH_SEPARATOR ';'
#define USER_CLASSPATH "../workspace/test/bin"
main() {
     JNIEnv *env;
     JavaVM *jvm;
     jint res;
     jclass      cls,
          clss;
     jmethodID mid;
     jstring jstr;
     jintArray i;
     jclass stringClass;
     jobjectArray args;
     int zzz[5] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5};
#ifdef JNI_VERSION_1_2
     JavaVMInitArgs vm_args;
     JavaVMOption options[1];
     options[0].optionString =
         "-Djava.class.path=" USER_CLASSPATH;
     vm_args.version = 0x00010002;
     vm_args.options = options;
     vm_args.nOptions = 1;
     vm_args.ignoreUnrecognized = JNI_TRUE;
     /* Create the Java VM */
     res = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, (void**)&env, &vm_args);
#else
     JDK1_1InitArgs vm_args;
     char classpath[1024];
     vm_args.version = 0x00010001;
     JNI_GetDefaultJavaVMInitArgs(&vm_args);
     /* Append USER_CLASSPATH to the default system class path */
     sprintf(classpath, "%s%c%s",
             vm_args.classpath, PATH_SEPARATOR, USER_CLASSPATH);
     vm_args.classpath = classpath;
     /* Create the Java VM */
     res = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, &env, &vm_args);
#endif /* JNI_VERSION_1_2 */
     if (res < 0) {
         fprintf(stderr, "Can't create Java VM\n");
         return(1);
clss = env->FindClass("Point");
     if (clss == NULL) {
         goto destroy;
     mid = env->GetStaticMethodID(clss, "pointX", "(I)I");
     if (mid == NULL) {
         goto destroy;
     stringClass = env->FindClass("java/lang/Integer");
     jstr = env->NewStringUTF("kjis 51");
     i = env->NewIntArray(5);
     env->SetIntArrayRegion(i, (jsize)0, (jsize)1, zzz);
     if (jstr == NULL) {
         goto destroy;
     args = (jobjectArray)env->NewObjectArray(1, stringClass, i);
     if (args == NULL) {
         goto destroy;
     env->CallStaticIntMethod(clss, mid, args);
destroy:
     if (env->ExceptionOccurred()) {
         env->ExceptionDescribe();
     jvm->DestroyJavaVM();
}"It works" but my java methode print 134547664 as results.
Exactly the same result if I change the line
args = (jobjectArray)env->NewObjectArray(1, stringClass, i);for
args = (jobjectArray)env->NewObjectArray(1, stringClass, jstr);I know that is wrong, but I just want to give an int in parameter, and I don't know how to do...
I hope this will be my last question for you...
I'm really sorry.

  • I can't compile the converter tutorial example in J2EE

    Hi,
    I was wondering if someone could help me out with this.
    I followed the instructions from the tutorial, but still can't use ant to compile the convert.
    The following is the error output.
    Many thanks.
    C:\temp\j2ee_examples\j2eetutorial\examples\src>ant converter

    When you compile through J2EE it should give no apache type errors. You must of included apache xml cocoon jar files in the CLASSPATH as well later put the j2ee.jar. However j2ee.jar has XML libraries, no need to include other thrid party xml libaries.
    Other words its picking your thrid party xml jar files first and using that instead of your j2ee.jar xml libaries.

  • Errors compiling the rmi-iiop example.

    Hello,
    I have WebLogic Server 5.1, jdk1.3, Inprise's Visibroker for Java 4.0
    and Visibroker for C++ 4.0 all on Windows NT.
    I am following the steps on the index.html page in the
    examples/rmi_iiop/hello directory in my weblogic directory. The errors
    occur at step 5 of the section "Build the client".
    The errors are output by the java compiler. They are:
    examples\rmi_iiop\hello\_HelloWorld_Stub.java:17:
    examples.rmi_iiop.hello._HelloWorld_Stub should be declared abstract; it
    does not define bind() in examples.rmiiiop.hello._HelloWorld_Stub
    public class HelloWorldStub extends javax.rmi.CORBA.Stub implements
    HelloWorld {
    ^
    examples\rmi_iiop\hello\HelloImpl.java:12:
    examples.rmi_iiop.hello.HelloImpl should be declared abstract; it does
    not define isa(java.lang.String) in examples.rmi_iiop.hello.HelloImpl
    public class HelloImpl implements HelloWorld {
    Are there issues with jdk1.3? Or have I misapplied some steps?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    The problem you are having is that the compiler is picking up another copy of HelloWorld... see if you can run the compiler with verbose turned on and find where it is getting the interface from... or try using javap...So, here is the output when I compile in verbose mode:

  • Re: Errors compiling the rmi-iiop example.

    As I said, apparently, you are trying to compile the IDL client in java using the RMI client classes. THere are two problems with this:
    1-- you must compile the rmi class definitions into a directory that can be easily excluded from the class path at the time you compile the idl definitions.
    2-- the idl definitions and the resulting classes are useless wrt the rmi definitions and wls, so the resulting classes must be compiled into directories other than those used by wls and the rmi clients.
    Another way to look at this is as follows:
    To compile the rmi definitions, you do:
    set ORIGINALCLASSPATH=CLASSPATH
    set CLASSPATH=../fooclasses;$CLASSPATH
    javac -d ../fooclasses rmi/FooImpl.java
    Then,
    -- you compile the jrmp classes as:
    rmic -d ../jrmpclasses rmi.FooImpl
    -- you compile the weblogic classes as:
    java weblogic.rmic -d ../wlsclasses rmi.FooImpl
    that is, you are allowed to compile from the same implementation class so long as it is compliant
    -- you compile the rmi-iiop classes as:
    java weblogic.rmic -iiop -d ../rmiiiopclasses rmi.FooImpl
    that is, as with jrmp and wls, the rmi-iiop classes share the same base type definitions and implementation.
    However, the idl classes are another matter. To compile the idl classes, you must generate the idl, generate the java files and generate the idl class files into another, separate directory, one which does not include any of ../fooclasses, ../jrmpclasses, ../wlsclasses or ../rmiiiopclasses
    directories.
    That is,
    java weblogic.rmic -idlDirtecory ../idl ...
    set CLASSPATH=ORIGINALCLASSPATH
    set CLASSPATH=../idlclasses;CLASSPATH
    cd ../idl
    idl2java rmi/Foo.idl
    javac -d ../idl rmi/*.java
    Hope this helps...

    COMPLETELY different to the directions on the index.html page in the

    Eduardo Ceballos wrote:
    As I said, apparently, you are trying to compile the IDL client in
    java using the RMI client classes. THere are two problems with this:
    1-- you must compile the rmi class definitions into a directory that
    can be easily excluded from the class path at the time you compile the
    idl definitions.
    2-- the idl definitions and the resulting classes are useless wrt the
    rmi definitions and wls, so the resulting classes must be compiled
    into directories other than those used by wls and the rmi clients.
    Another way to look at this is as follows:
    To compile the rmi definitions, you do:
    set ORIGINALCLASSPATH=CLASSPATH
    set CLASSPATH=../fooclasses;$CLASSPATH
    javac -d ../fooclasses rmi/FooImpl.java
    Then,
    -- you compile the jrmp classes as:
    rmic -d ../jrmpclasses rmi.FooImpl
    -- you compile the weblogic classes as:
    java weblogic.rmic -d ../wlsclasses rmi.FooImpl
    that is, you are allowed to compile from the same implementation class
    so long as it is compliant
    -- you compile the rmi-iiop classes as:
    java weblogic.rmic -iiop -d ../rmiiiopclasses rmi.FooImpl
    that is, as with jrmp and wls, the rmi-iiop classes share the same
    base type definitions and implementation.
    However, the idl classes are another matter. To compile the idl
    classes, you must generate the idl, generate the java files and
    generate the idl class files into another, separate directory, one
    which does not include any of ../fooclasses, ../jrmpclasses,
    ../wlsclasses or ../rmiiiopclasses directories.
    That is,
    java weblogic.rmic -idlDirtecory ../idl ...
    set CLASSPATH=ORIGINALCLASSPATH
    set CLASSPATH=../idlclasses;CLASSPATH
    cd ../idl
    idl2java rmi/Foo.idl
    javac -d ../idl rmi/*.java
    Hope this helps...

  • Problems with basic authentication example

    I am trying to run the basic authentication example from the Professional JSP book (Chapter 16) although for some reason I continue to get "AUTHENTICATION MECHANISM NULL" instead of "AUTHENTICATION MECHANISM BASIC". I do not even get the pop-up window with the prompt for Username and Password. I am running Tomcat 4.0-dev and have tried to access the login window by pointing the browser to the appropriate file:
    //localhost:8080/ch16-basic/index.jsp
    Still not login window???
    I have added the extra user and password to the tomcat-users.xml file (username="projsp" password="projsp" roles="superuser")
    Still no luck????
    Could someone please let me know what could possibly be going wrong.
    Thank you!!!!

    The index.jsp is:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Protected Area Page</title>

    <body>
    <%
    out.println("<H2>Authentication Mechanism "+ request.getAuthType() +" </H2>" );
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    The tomcat-users.xml is:
    <!--
    NOTE: By default, no user is included in the "manager" role required
    to operate the "/manager" web application. If you wish to use this app,
    you must define such a user - the username and password are arbitrary.

    <tomcat-users>
    <user name="tomcat" password="tomcat" roles="tomcat" />
    <user name="role1" password="tomcat" roles="role1" />
    <user name="both" password="tomcat" roles="tomcat,role1" />
    <user name="projsp" password="projsp" roles="superuser" />
    </tomcat-users>
    And the web.xml is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN"

    Can you tell me what's problem?

    Hi,
    You need to include the gpib-32.obj in your project settings. The object file is where the API functions are actually implemented.
    Go to Project >> Settings. Then select the Link tab to include the name of the object file on the "Object/library module" field. You might have to add the object file path on the "Additional Library path" field in the same Link tab under the Input category. Refer to the Visual C++ environment documentation.
    Here is a previous discussion on this.

  • Errors in the "Getting Started with the FPGA Module" examples

    We have LabView 8.0, the NI-5640R, and the LabView FPGA module installed on a computer with the IF-RIO board, and we are trying to compile the provided NI examples (NI-5640R documentation), but we receive errors that say "sub VI is not executable" and "you have connected terminals of two different types"  Why are the existing NI VI's not compiling properly?  We are guessing that we have some configuration error, though we aren't sure.

    The run error is broken and gives the option to list and locate errors, though these errors are found everywhere in the files that are provided in the NI-5640R.  Several wires have red x's that say that different types are attempting to be wired, and multiple blocks are highlighted that list errors that say that the blocks cannot be activated.  It seems like there is a problem with how the software and board has been installed.  The group that used the board before us had a functioning project, although they but the IF-RIO in their own computers, so they might not have put everything back together properly.  Their old VI's produce the same errors on our computer.  Do you have any suggestions on what to do?

  • Delphi doesn't compile the examples for DIO32HS

    Delphi doesn't compile the examples for DIO32HS
    Some libraries appear to be required,
    but there are none supplied
    According to the manual, one ActiveX should be sufficient.
    What version is the source provided ?

    The NI CD is Version 6.9.2
    There are examples : \National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\Delphi
    There is no mention which Version of Delphi,
    I have 3,5 and 6. However there should be components
    to be installed into Delphi as DigitalWaveformContinous
    requires TCWNumEdit, TCWDI and so on.
    It also requires the units CWUIControlsLib_TLB,
    CWAnalysisControlsLib_TLB, CWDAQControlsLib_TLB which are not part of Delphi istself but have to be provided
    by NI.
    Today I'm going to try Borland C++Builder, of which
    I have version 4 and 5. This will also require some
    components to be installed in BCB, I couldn't find them
    yet.
    \National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\BorlandC
    BTW: this ActiveX that was talked about couldn't be
    found on the drive either. no *.ocx
    It cannot be that hard. I just want a procedure
    to setup the PCI-DIO-32HS, in terms of what is input
    and output, how the handshaking is done and then
    read/write to the port.

    Thanks for your respond, Eduardo.
    Could you explain me in more detail why the C++ code doesn't compile, and how the
    new target in the make file can help us?
    Thanks!

    There's nothing wrong with what you've done. The C code just doesn't compile.
    Grab WLS 6.0 SP1 when it is available (shortly). There is a new target in
    the make file that narrows the IDL production by method signature.

  • How to use the http binding example?

    Hi all,
    i want to test the http binding example, but i didn't find any documentation to this example. Therefore i need some answers to my questions
    1. How do i deploy the QuoteService to the engine (do i have to compile it in the JDBPEL Designer?)
    2. When i have deployed the HttpBindingExample, how do i use it (which input data to use in the Process Manager?)
    Thanks for replying
    Alli

    Hi Ali,
    The QuoteService is a simple JSP, so you should deploy it as a web application to your local OC4J server which hosts the BPEL server. The context root should be QuoteService as described in the wsdl: <http:operation location="/QuoteService/quotes.jsp" />, or more simply just put under the default application location with a folder named QuoteService.
    The following code in the BPEL process assigns a value to the input variable of the invoke which invokes the service:
    <assign name="assignQuoteRequest">
         <copy>
              <from expression="'ORCL'">
              </from>
              <to variable="quoteRequest" part="symbol"/>
         </copy>
    </assign>
    Hope this helps,
    ~ronen

  • I am having a big problem downloading the basic essentials content

    Basic essentials content, 3 times in a day (This is after doing a clean install of OS X Lion on my Mac and then re-downloading Logic) i have/Logic has, tried to download the basic essentials content and then the download freezes.
    Whats happening?

    When you connect your iPod to iTunes, look on the Device/Photos pane and choose the one folder on your computer (for example "Pictures Set A") that you want to use to Sync with your iPod, by using the Browse button.
    In that folder ("Pictures Set A"), put any folders that you want to Sync with your iPod (such as "Holiday in London" and "Day Trip To Sydney" etc. etc.).  They are known as sub-folders. Sync the iPod to iTunes.
    On the iPod, in the Photos App, you will see a folder named Photo Library which has all your (Synced) photos in it, but without folders. Beneath the Photo Library folder are all the sub-folders, such as "Picture Set A" , "Holiday In London" and "Day Trip To Sydney". Each sub-folder has only the photos that are in that folder on your computer.
    For the photos that did not Sync to your iPod, I suggest you follow the message that you saw, "see iTunes for more information". The most likely explanation is that they are in a format the iPod cannot handle.

  • Receiving an error in Print Report.vi in the Text Report Example.vi

    I am trying to run the "Text Report Example.vi" example under Windows XP Professional, MS Office 2003 and LV 6.1 and I get an error in the "Print Report.vi" saying that there is an unknown error (-2147452567). I have searched through the Knowledgebase and found a couple of things to try but none of them worked (namely this solution). Is there a known problem with Office 2003 and LabVIEW 6.1? I can run the same example on another computer that is running the same setup except that it has MS Office 2002 SP3 and it prints properly.

    There are several reasons why you could get this error. There was a problem with a DLL change that caused either an invoke node or a property node (sorry, I don't remember which) to need to be replaced or relinked. I think that this is the problem that you linked to.
    The other potential problem is that you could be calling a font that you have on one of the computers but not on the other.
    I hope that this helps,

  • How do i use home.html in the first Jboss example

    how do i use home.html in the first Jboss example? i got the example to work through the command line method. i also got the CD example to work.
    the documentation does not tell you how to use the home.html file. the file suggests that i can call the servlet because it has this line:
    <form action="InterestServlet" method="POST" >
    from my knowledge of servlets, i should be able to put the home.html file in the same directory that the servlet is in, and as long as a web browser can access it in that location, then this should work... right?
    can someone tell me specifically what they did to get it to work? i CANNOT FIGURE OUT what the servlet URL is. my first guess would be http://localhost/servlets/InterestServlet . This doesnt work. Does anyone understand where i am coming from??
    I am using ANT, and the normal install of the latest JBoss. i do not have a web server running because the JBoss server says in the console "[INFO,WebService] Starting
    [INFO,WebService] Started webserver with address: null port: 8083
    [INFO,WebService] Codebase set to: http://thor:8083/
    [INFO,WebService] Started" and so i assume there is a web service there?????

    ADDENDUM:
    i still cant figure out my servlet question, so please help, if you can.
    i just figured out that i need to download the JBoss Tomcat/Catalina server. I got it running except that the Catalina web server only is working when i run it standalone, and i cant figure out why. It keeps throwing this exception:

    Kindly help me. I am new and learning Purchasing module and now stuck because of an error while compiling the PO Item Category KFF. This is because a segment is saved in the database incompletely.
