Completely Horrible Support!

My hold button broke on my 60 gig 5th generation Ipod. It is permanantly suck in the 'off-hold' position no matter if I toggle it back and forth or not. (The lock will not come up on screen no matter what.)
I ship it to Apple only to have it returned with no songs on it. The website says they found no problem. I put some songs on it. YES! The hold button is still broken.
So I call support on the phone. The guy on the phone types out what I'm telling him and says that he is 'posting a detailed note' on what is wrong with it so when they diagnose it I won't get the same unit back. They ship me a new empty box. I ship my Ipod back to them.... again.
Guess what happens? Yeah... they ship it back AGAIN saying there was nothing wrong with it. I am never going to recommend Apple products to anyone ever. Their support is complete garbage. They are wasting my time, I've gone two weeks without music at work now because they can't get their act together. I paid four hundred dollars on this thing and they can't even back it. What a waste.

yea, i must admit that sometimes the first level phone support isnt the best. try to have them elevate you to someone who is higher up. also, if you have an apple store around you id suggest going there. while i was waiting for a genius to checkout my macbook, i saw about 3 people with faulty ipods go in and walk out with brand new ones!

  • Internet connection issues and Horrible support

    I have been using Verizon FIOS at work, home and recommened to all of my clients and friends. Had been using FIOS since it's available to me 6 years ago. It has been great, but I had a huge disappointment and horrible experience today.
    The home FIOS line had been having issues for the past week and half, almost everyday, it will have certain downtime, the ping time will go up to 6000+ ms, the download speed will be around 50K! I picked up the phone called Verizon for help, after 40 minutes of hold, this engineer (Level 2 according to himself) Joe, asked me a bunch of questions and basically refused to help, because he said there's nothing to help and NOTHING he could do from his end. He wanted me to run computer optimizer and not to use WIFI.
    We certainly have an issue, and the issue comes and go, it looks like Verizon support or this enigeer "Joe" thinks that I am lying and want to spend an hour of my weekend time to report a false problem.
    How do I file an complain about an engineer? (He told me i cannot escalate and cannot talk to anyone else).

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board. you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information.
    To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
    If a forum member gives an answer you like, give them the Kudos they deserve. If a member gives you the answer to your question, mark the answer that solved your issue as the accepted solution.

  • Horrible G4, Horrible support!!

    My G4 has lost and crashed so many times. I think its the worst system I have ever used. I had a recalled battery for months and never recieved a notice about having a recall. I have had New logic board, Hard drive, Erase and re install 3x. Bought Office with an ex GF and when it crashed I lost that with no way of getting it again, The bar was NOT helpful or understanding. My F12 and eject keys wouldnt work so i brought it in for a fix and they said it had heavy water damage???
    Shelled out another 150$ for that, On top of having apple care.
    I brought it into MOA apple store for ANOTHER erase and re-Install (SPinning bar load-up) They later called me and said it was fixed. WHen i got home NOTHING was fixed same as it was before!!
    If i had 10$ for every hour Ive sat in that **** store I would be able to buy another MAC, Not only the countless hours of transport from work-school-home to the store. I wasted several hours in commute for the MOA incident and didnt even have my problem resolved.
    The most recent crash I was surfing the web and checking email and social networks the bottom right side was extremely HOT! it kept crashing with the black screen and freezing up. I took the battery out, let it cool off and sure enough the next day it just booted to a ? screen. I think all this is because of those faulty batterys.
    This is getting way to old as much money as this company makes they should either re-imburse me or set me up with a new MAC. The day i purchased my computer (for school) My bill totalled 4,800 with software, ipods, mac, etc.
    I have been trying to get my father to purchase one for home because they CAN be very user friendly (when they work).
    He called customer support a couple crashes ago and he suggested they fix this problem and replace it (like good ALL good companies do!) and the support guy said "oh you want a new one, well just buy it" - Are you effen kidding me!!!??
    If They had any respect for their customers they A- wouldnt have said that! and B- Done whats right, That being a replacement.
    I dont have the time or money to keep up this horrible G4, Its a horrible situation and needs to be fixed. I have never gone to the Genius bar with a problem and left in UNDER 2 hours. One day I was there for 6 HOURS, YES 6 hours!! More staff is all i can say.

  • Has Apple completely dropped support for FCP 7 ?

    My search of the Pro Software "support" already suggests the answer, but maybe I'm just too incredulous to believe it. OK, I get that they really like FCP X and want everyone to migrate to it, but man, have they even been reading their press?? So they are trying to force us to a very poor alpha release of the new world order, but what about the extensive community of users who've faithfully hung in with them through the development of the earlier versions?
    Look, I really don't want to turn this into one of many rants about FCP x (lower case intended). I expect a lot of the problems we're reading about will eventually get fixed and when they do, I for one feel like I'll like it and will make the leap once they do.
    What about all the demos, instructional videos, how-to advise and legacy community blog stuff for the substantial community who are waiting to see before jumping into a yet to be tested and proven new platform. If they wanted to bail on the pro community, they should have just admitted it and done so. I would have respected them for that. But this is just insulting...
    Am I missing the FCP 7 Suite support or have I just encountered a big poke in the eye?

    First, I guess I really did sound like a rant on FCP X - Sorry...
    Second, I'm referring to the community discussions and application tutorials for FCS stuff to get through a basic use of a tool such as Motion, Color and to a much lesser extent, FCP 7. I'll check the link...
    I only do rough cuts on bigger projects that I hand off to a real editor for finish out. I also do a lot of work for non-profits so where there is little budget available, they are stuck with me for cheap editing (lol)

  • Account Disabled - Horrible support, don't know what to do

    So after spending several hundred dollars over the course of being an apple fan, my account was disabled on itunes. I don't know why.. I called only to be laughed at by a guy named Anthony who said just log out and log back in.. not a very helpful guy. Then I called again, and a lady said there is no voice support for itunes issues!! What the heck? So I emailed, and have been waiting, why is this happening to someone who spent so much money on apples products? I have a iMac, 2 x appletvs, 2 x iphones, ipod, mac mini, you name it I have it.. and apple has turned there back on me.
    I have definitely lost my hope in apple, and even more so as a stockholder.

    I don't think that the number of products that you purchase affects the level of service. Hopefully Apple would extend the same services to all Apple customers.
    It seems you may be over reacting just a touch. Sometimes everything does not go smoothly. A little patience can go a long way.

    Presumably that reference means stored procs are supported.
    How are backups done? Last time I looked at Cloudscape one had to take down the database or lock the entire thing.
    How is it licensed/marketed? As a developer I can get MS SQL Server and Oracle for $200 each. If I have to pay $20,000 just to play with it, or can only use it for 15 days before it expires I am never going to touch it.
    Where is your bug list? Will I have access to it?
    How is it installed? Can I deliver it as part of application already set up and ready to run (no dba interaction?) Can it be installed seperately (dba interaction?)

  • Horrible Support on Apple IPad

    I got an iPad for Christmas two years ago. I used it for a year and a half and never dropped it or abused it. However, my Internet doesn't work and NO it has nothing to do with MY Internet connection because we have 3 Iphones, another Ipad, and a Mac and they all connect just fine. The thing is that when we take it to the apple store it works just fine and can connect. I don't understand this and YES I have done a hard re-set and made it so it was like a brand new Ipad.
    I have done everything and been into the Apple store twice. Something is wrong with this Ipad and we spent over $700 on it. We spent a lot of money on it and now they say that they don't know and that I need to pay $20 to even talk to someone! I think this is so messed up. It is beyond words. So then they tell me that I can send it to them and pay $200 plus dollars to get it fixed. I think this is ridiculous. Something is wrong with this Ipad and it isn't my fault. I don't want to pay $200 plus to fix it (plus when I send it in they are going to say it works just fine becuase we can connec to the internet). But everywhere else coffee shops, at school, and home....IT DOESNT pull up or show any internet connections that might be in the area.
    Oh and then there is this. I get told that I could trade it in at the Apple store by an apple store tech and then I try and do it and another apple store tech says they don't do that through the store and that I have to send it in and then see what money I could get and get sent a gift card. To me that is extreme bs. So then I call apple and they say that they don't do that and that I have to trade it in at the store and can pay the difference on a new one.
    So then I look up how much my Ipad is worth and they say $120! I paid over $700 and don't want to pay over $600 for a new one!? That is so stupid. I can't believe how many apple products that me and my family buy and this is the way we get treated when we need help. No one knows and no one is will to be nice.
    So....8 Iphones.... 6 Ipods....2 Ipads....1 computer...and if someone doesn't help me I am done. I will not buy another apple product because no one will help me with an error that seems to be not my fault.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
    Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
    You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them.   • [Rant] T440s - Defective UltraNav, defective keyboard, defective display bezel and horrible support

    Hi! I'll just need to let off some steam and maybe someone even has a suggestion for me what to try.
    1) Apparently, my trackpad is defective. It sometimes fails to recognise clicks and the middle mouse button does not work at all. At frist, I thought this was due to driver issues, but after the firmware upgrade didn't work I came to the conclusion that the hardware is faulty.
    2) My TrackPoint doesn't stay where it should stay. The red rubber thing is mounted on a grey plastic cap which should stick to the keyboard. However, my plastic cap always comes off. The TrackPoint always sticks to my finger and then falls out. Seems to be a defective keyboard, although it was never handled inappropriately.
    3) The display bezel isn't assembled properly. I've read this from many people here in the forums, so it is a known issue. The thin plastic front cover isn't glued to the bezel and comes off in the right bottom of the screen and at the same point, the bezel once detached from the display lid, but at least now holds after I pressed it back on.
    You would think Lenovo would provide some business-class support for a business notebook. After calling and providing pictures, I was told to wait for a further email. I didn't receive one until almost two weeks later because they managed to mistype my address three times. I had already provided pictures, but they wanted more. I sent more, sufficient to see the issues. They still told me to send more pictures. Obviously, I already sent enough and the best quality my camera can shoot, so I sent links to pictures in this forum from people having exactly the same problem. Still, "please send detailed photos".
    I was also told to try installing a Lenovo pre-load in order to see if this fixed the trackpad problem. Guys, I already did four clean installs of Windows 7 and 8.1. With and without Lenovo drivers and with every available driver version. I can tell it's defective and a Lenovo pre-load doesn't change anything. My machine didn't come with a Windows licence, so I couldn't install a Windows with pre-load. Their suggestion was for me to send the notebook to a repair centre so they could wipe my hard disk, install a pre-load and see if the issue is still present (yes, it will be because the hardware is defective and it is your responsibility to fix it!).
    I put the ticket on hold because this is unacceptable for me. I will now ask the vendor to return the machine or get a replacement. Sorry Lenovo, but that's not how you make satisfied customers.

    Well... My organization has just dropped Lenovo ThinkPads from the list of recommended machines. The reasons being dismal ergonomics (the main reason) due to the clickpad and persistent quality problems.
    We were a ThinkPad-only shop for about 15 years. That is over now.
    This is very, very sad. I would pay a reasonable premium to get something like W540 with the best display, but the old keyboard (centralized and not a brain-dead positioning like the new one) and proper buttons for the mouse.
    Lenovo is really, really determined in killing the ThinkPad range.
    Hence, just return the machine. And buy something else.

  • HP not honoring warranty/Horrible Support: OfficeJet 8600

    Always was a fan of HP, especially the printers, but I doubt I will ever buy another one.  Bought a OfficeJet 8600 nearly a year ago.  Recently it stopped working and would not power up.  Went through all the on line troubleshooting without success.  Called HP support and told in the first minute that it wasn't under warranty.  I said that the manuals say it has a one year warranty, so it IS under warranty.  
    Transfer me to manager who apologizes profusely, but in an almost too practiced way.  After nearly a hour on the phone, best offer is that they will send me a refurbished version and will need my credit card number to ensure that I send back the old printer and the original receipt.  Very hestiant about giving my credit card #.
    Manager says they will call me back after I send the receipt to confirm the rest of the details.  Get an email with case#:  3006440375.  After another hour searching for the receipt, find that I had actually ordered the printer from HP.com!
    As instructed, I send a return email with a pdf of the receipt attached to an email including the case #, serial #, and product #.  No phone call.  Recieve email saying that "Please note that HP no longer offers email support for your product." 
    I guess a 1 year warranty means something else in the HP dictionary.  Very disappointed HP!

  • Amazingly horrible support on defective battery... any ideas?

    My MBP battery has started bulging something fierce after less than a year of ownership... I know, nothing new. It bulged so much that it ended up rendering some of the keys non-functional. My initial call with support was very nice, with the rep saying a new battery would be shipped within 2 days and giving me a support number to go to the local store and get the keyboard replaced. So it's a week later now and the online status shows no shipment, so I call. I speak with another support rep and not only does she put me on hold every minute or so for an unknown reason and stay away for about 2 minutes at a time, but first she tells me that the battery hasn't shipped. I ask... when. Another 2 minutes hold. Now the answer is that it DID ship, but the carrier hasn't provided tracking yet. I ask if she's sure... another 2 minutes. Now the battery definitely did NOT ship. I ask if I can swap it out at the store instead since i'll be there anyway, and after another wait, the answer is "we will ship it to your home". I ask again and after another wait the answer is again not really answering the question. Finally she asks me to call back tomorrow for status, after almost 45 minutes of the weirdest, non-helpful support call i've ever experienced with Apple. All this after paying $350 for AppleCare. After a long support call, the LAST thing I want to hear is that I need to call back tomorrow. What is this, AOL?
    So my question is... anybody have any advice to get this battery taken care of asap? I use this MBP every day for work, and having to shut it down between power outlets really *****. Maybe calling back and asking for a manager? Going to my local store? Thanks for your help.

    Oh don't think I'm one of those. I NEVER yell or get belligerent at CS people. It's not their fault, and in my former job as a CS person I learned that you only get special favors by being nice, not by being mean. Just telling the story so people don't think I'm asking for too much - exactly how is relating my story to helpful people like yourself the "absolute worst" thing I could do?
    The symptoms are true - would you like me to email you a video of the keys not working and my beautiful bulgin' battery?
    I don't care about anything but getting this taken care of. Since you say it will help, i'll call back now and see what I get. We'll see

  • Horrible Support - 8 days, 12 Calls & can't even get webmail!

    So I decided to try FIOS again after Comcast jacked my rates as FIOS did 2 years ago at the end of the 2 yr. Agreement.  The set up wizard asked me to choose an ID different than the primary email account ID.  That didn't work as stated and my email was about to be sent out via True Switch to hundreds of friends and colleagues with an unrecognizable prefix.  I asked that the ID be switched back to the [email protected] I had previously used with FIOS and DSL a decade ago.  Now the accounts seem to be terminally confused.  It is even throwing me out to a dead Yahoo webpage associated account that was set up in partnership with Verizon DSL over 10 years ago - but never used.  Eight days and over a dozen calls to tech support , e-support and account support, and a couple of repair tickets and 4 promises that we will get to it within 24-48 hours and I STILL CAN'T EVEN SEND OR RECEIVE WEBMAIL!  This is the worst consumer experience in many years, and is wasting dozens of hours of Verizon support staff time as well as making my life miserable.  I will try one more call, and then it's on to the County's Cable Commission (had to do that a couple of years ago also with FIOS) and probably back to Comcast.  FIOS claims that the .net folk and .com folk cannot work together to resolve this issue due to security protocols.  So how long do I let this madness continue before pulling the plug on FIOS for the last time?

    I am not getting proper response from Redington india, last month I sumitted my playbook to redignton khar mumbai office ,after 10 days i reiceved it . when i check for one day which again i found faulty. I returned  the same. But till date i have not received the replacement from them. Nobody is giving proper answer to my emails.
