Component for iPhone-like spinner/slot machine list, like picker view ?

Does anyone know of a component or tutorial for implementing a slot machine-like list similar to the interface component on the iPhone (example at http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uipickerview-creating-simple-picker.html)? I did find one commercial component for flex at http://strawberrypixel.com/blog/flexwheel-component-page/, but am not sure how open this would be for modification (looks like it's a compiled SWC file in the example).
Any ideas?

I'm not sure I understand your response. Are you talking about customizing the component referenced in my email? I don't have access to the source code for that, so was looking for a tutorial or source code for a component with this functionality--specifically, creating a control with the same slot machine-style functionality as the iPhone picker. This looks like it would involve customizing the list component to respond to click and swipe mouse inputs, and using some physics (an easing algorithm) to make the wheel "spin" and come to a stop.
As for using the component referenced here, I've tried using this in my flash project, but only see a list of child components in the Components window (no "flex wheel" component, just things like AnimateProperty, ArrayCollect, etc. as in attached).
Can you help me understand your response?

Slot machine or odometer effect creation

Hi AE Community,
I've done some google searches, but I am still having trouble finding a recent tutorial on this effect. I'd like to take the number 150,000,000 and make it spin over my background like a slot machine, before it lands on the correct number. I consider myself an intermediate user in AE, but I'm really having trouble with this one! Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't need necessarily need step by step instructions, but I need to get the animation going and I'm not sure where to start.

There are ways to automated the number progressions but here's how we did it in the olden days (this is not quite as easy as I'm making it sound, there are lots of subtle things that can trip you up):
Create a vertical comp. Place 10 text items, one for each digit, on top of each other.
Bring this comp into another and use two simple position keyframes to move the strip of numbers from top to bottom. Caution: to create a seamless loop, the last frame of the movies must be set one frame back from the last keyframe in the timeline. You can also use the Offset parameter if you know how to do that.
Render the movie without motion blur (a drawback to using this method).
Import the movie, set it to loop, and place it as many times as you need significant digits.Or you can create a different movie for each digit in the main number.
That's about it.
Of course, you need to be able to finesse the movement of the digits, slow them down on command (you can use expression sliders to control the movie loops), make the numbers move at different speeds, maybe some move backwards, add masks and build a frame graphic, add shadows or reflections--the list of enhancements is long.
You can also do the whole thing with expressions and there must be a script someplace (I do not understand scripting in AE, no clue, sorry can't help you there).

Magazines for iPhone 4 through 6+

I'm designing a magazine for iPhone 4 through 6+ and having some questions.
I need the better resolution for each phone so I'm making a folio for each iPhone screen resolution. When I get them published on an iPhone 6, for example, I gonna see all the folios below them or the phone will recognize his screen size and just show the specific folio?
The next question is about the publishing for iPhone 6. I saw that the Content Viewer isn't available for this phone yet, but for the publishing it's gonna be there, right?
The last one is about the little black scrollbar that appears at the right of the Content Viewer and overlaps the design. After publishing, that scrollbar will disappears?

Take a read through Bob's help topic on renditions: Digital Publishing Suite Help | Creating folio renditions. It should answer the bulk of your questions. At the moment you can't create an iPhone 6-specific rendition (the viewer won't show it), but that's ok as the iPhone 5 rendition is so close in size you probably won't ever want to go through the effort of making a rendition just for iPhone 6.
When you build a custom viewer with App Builder you can decide whether the scrollbar auto-hides.

Printing immedietely of Putaway list or Pick list in SAP WM

We have one requirement in WMS rollout is:
For automatic background printing of Putaway list or Pick list in SAP WM, System doesnt recognize Printer name as LOCL (settings in T code- OMLV). In OMLV we must have a network printer name for automatic printing the Putaway List after MIGO transaction and also for automatic printing the Pick List in Background with WMTA out put type - which triggers during delivery creation.
If we configure LOCL in OMLV screen the spool gets generated but it doesnt execute automatically and that needs to be triggered manually using T code SP02 or SP01.
We want to print these putaway or pick list automatically(either thru LOCL or network printer) immediate after generating a spool(without any user interaction).

Hi MM,
Inorder to get automatic put away list after GR you need to define the printer in OMLV settings.
Step 1:
If you are using Ricoh printer (Paper print out of TO) and Zebra Printer (Label printer for printing labels), you need define this combination under the icon "Printer pool/Labels".
Warehouse - Ricoh printer name - Zebra printer name (Pre-condition : Both the Ricoh and Zebra printers needs to be configured in SAP by your Basis team).
Step 2:
Under icon "Warehouse Movement" in the Assignment section, you need to define the condition for printing.
For example
Warehouse no: Source str type Destination str. type Printername
AB1 902 *** Ricoh printer name1
AB1 Q01 *** Ricoh printer name2
The above situation prints all put away list for receiving area to Ricoh printer name 1 & all put away list cleared by QA people to Ricoh printer name 2.
Step 3:
Analyze the condition set under the icon "Analyze" (print control tables).
You can re-check the conditions set by you in the above section. specify the warehouse number, source str type, dest. str type and execute you should be getting the printer name correctly assigned in the earlier section.

Scrolling a list in application published for iPhone

I am creating an application in Flash CS5 which will be published for iPhone. I need to scroll a list of entries, just like we have a list of songs in iPhone. I am not able to get how to make the scrolling of the list possible. I tried using TouchEvent class but it is not firing any method in Device Central.

FWIW - mouse events work on iPhone/iPad exactly like they do for a normal Flash app. So you'dprobably want to test for a CLICK or MOUSE_DOWN instead of a touch event...

You can set it up to not download any message until you click on one in the list to read. This is done in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced by selecting to not keep copies of messages and their attachments, or can limit it to keep with the attachments. However, Search of the entire message depends upon having these temporary copies on board you Mac.

Are you trying to reduce the visual clutter on the phone, save space on the phone, or limit the security exposure if your phone is stolen?
If you are only wanting to reduce the visual clutter and make scrolling through the list faster, you could set up a group on the computer containing only the contacts you want to see on my phone (called, for example, "Show on my Phone") and enable only that group inside Contacts on the phone. You might even have one or more existing groups that you could enable that way (maybe "Family" and "Personal").

HT1349 I do not have an APPLE. But I downloaded ITunes on my HP computer. I also paid for Miss Kitty slot machine and it says it has been downloaded. But when I click on it nothing happens. HELP !!!!!!

The items that you can purchase from iTunes in the form of apps are for either an iOS device (iPhone, iPad, iPod) or for Mac Computers.
The chances are the app you have downloaded is either written for an iPhone or iPad (iOS device -although even then there can be differences) or for a Mac computer (even then it may be OS version specific)
In a search for "Miss Kitty Slot" in iTunes I found this
It says it is an iPhone App.

I've just bought an iPhone 5S in the UK, seems like a big mistake, but luckily by law we can return goods, which is exactly what is going to happen if I cant get this to work. This is my business phone, not having it functional can cost me money.

I'm happy you figured it out and just try to keep in mind that not everyone you talk to at support will give the same advice or have the same knowledge. Just like those who contribute to these forums. Sometimes Google is your best friend.
I agree that Apple could probably make it easier, but as of yet prefer security over freedom. (sound famaliar?)

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account. Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices. You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

I like to manually create lists when I take notes, so is there a way to create a shortcut/hot key for different symbols in the Pages inspector?

Not really a Pages user, but I am trying to make the switch from Word if I can figure out a few ways to customize Pages. I don't want to create a new paragraph style because I rearrange my lists a lot. I think there is a way to automatically create a custom list style, but I like to make lists manually because I frequently change things around. I would like to be able to manually add symbols. I know that Option + 8 will give me a bullet, but I would also like to use different symbols I found in inspector, like a black square and a black triangle. Anyone know if this is possible?

If what you're looking for is a more flexible way of quickly just including any symbol of your preference when you're taking notes (without establishing a more structured list like picas suggestion) there are a number of ways to use keyboard shortcuts to get a variety of symbols.
