Hi ,
We have a portal system on NW 7.0 we want to implement Composition Environment (CE)7.1 .What needs to be done in this case?
Regards,
Max

Hi ,
   I read some of the guides available but I am unable to find any upgrade guides to upgrade to Netweaver Composite environment 7.1.Do you have a  link or  a place where I can get the documents on this.

  • Query running fine in one environment but failing in other environment

    Hi,
    I have a query which i am trying to execute in two different environments.
    Test :- Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    Prod:- Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
    Now query executes finely in one environment and fails in other environment.
    It gives following error.
    ORA-01861: literal does not match format string
    01861. 00000 - "literal does not match format string"
    The query is too long and contains CHAR-DATE and DATE-CHAR conversions.
    The same query works fine on TEST environment and and fails on PROD environment.
    Any help related to it would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    MaheshThat's called a bug. One caused by the person who developed the code. They relied on implicit conversion between strings and dates when
    production quality code will always use to_char and to_date functions with a format mask.

  • How to put composition's triggers into another composition?

    Hi guys,
    I want to make a dropdown menu which "links" to a certain target of a composition(so 1 composition is not enough, since you cant anchor/link into a certain target).
    I found - why not to do a composition in a composition? But I cant seem to put the triggers into the other composition.
    Any experience with this, or any way to solve it?
    It would be awesome, it would open many possibilities.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi
    Yes, you can insert composition inside target container of composition.
    What happens when you insert ?
    Thanks,

  • How do I use edge commons composition loader to load multiple compositions with a next and back button?

    I am working on an interactive book and have set up each page as a separate composition in edge.
    I am using  the edge commons JS library to load multiple compositions into a main composition.
    You can see how this works here: Edge Commons - Extension Library for Edge Animate and Edge Reflow | EdgeDocks.com
    The way the edge commons tutorial is set up requires a button for each composition i want to load. I am interested in loading multiple compositions with a "next" and "back" button, and a "swipe left, "swipe right" gesture on the content symbol that each composition is loaded into. I also need the swipe features on the content symbol not to interfere with the interactive elements on the loaded composition.
    Please suggest a solution that will work without adding additional scripts beyond edge commons and jquery.

    Sort of. I'm using this code inside an action for a button symbol. But it doesn't work perfectly. Trying to debug it.
    Let me know if you have any luck.
    //Check to see if pageCounter already exists

        EC.pageCounter = 2;
    //check if the page is only 1 digit -- patch for single digit
    if (EC.pageCounter < 9) {
       // it is, so we need to pad a 0 on the front.
      EC.pageCounterString = "0" + EC.pageCounter;
      //e.g.  01 ...09,11,12,13....115,222352,,....
    else {
      EC.pageCounterString = EC.pageCounter;
    EC.loadComposition(EC.pageCounterString + "/publish/web/" + EC.pageCounterString + ".html", sym.$("container"));
    EC.pageCounter = EC.pageCounter + 1;

  • ?? I thought there was a mac-mini, DVI to RCA /S-video adapter. If no, can I get 37.5mhz on display to composite video out?a composite video

    ?? I thought there was a mac-mini, DVI to RCA /S-video adapter. If not can display be set to 37,5 hertz then my crt can accept composite video. Thanks.

    12. Can I output via Mini DisplayPort to an RCA or S-Video connection?
    No. The Mini DIsplayPort connector allows output to Mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort, VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections when using the proper cables and adapters. However, output to RCA, Component, or S-Video connections is not supported.

  • Give swipeleft/right gestures to multiple external compositions that are loaded with composition loader by Edge Commons

    Hello,
    I have multiple external compositions that I load in my Edge project, with the composition loader by Edge Commons.
    I would like to connect these external compositions with swipeleft / right gestures.
    When I give the containers (where the external compositions are loaded in) the swipe gestures, it
    works perfectly. But when the external compositions are loaded, the swipe gestures on the containers doesn't work anymore.
    So is it possible to give the external compositions the swipe gestures. And that when they are loaded in my Edge project, the external compositions can communicate with each other.
    For Example:
    External composition one is loaded and when I swipe to the left, external composition 2 will slide in from right to left.
    I think it must be that the external compositions have a function to control the timeline in the Edge Project.
    I hope that this is possible and can help me with the code. Or have another solution.
    Thanks!

    I think I have the same or a similar issue.
    I am using a modified version of Edge Commons - Extension Library for Edge Animate and Edge Reflow | EdgeDocks.com
    to listen to touch swipe events in an external compositions.
    var promise = EC.loadComposition("publish/comp_01.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
         promise.done(function(comp) {
               var stage = comp.getStage();
           // Listen for events dispatched by the external composition
                    stage.$("bg").swipeleft(function() {
                          EC.loadComposition("publish/comp_02.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
                    stage.$("bg").swiperight(function() {
                          EC.loadComposition("publish/test1.html", sym.getSymbol("content"));
    This works great for the composition loaded by this script, but the comp.getStage function does not pick up on swipe events on anything other than the .$("bg") in this composition.
    For example I have 30 compositions each with a .$("bg") but only the one loaded by this script works with this script. I am looking for a way to universalize the event listener to work with every .$("bg") loaded into my main stage symbol.
    Do you or does anyone else have a solution?

  • Distributed Environment (WIN + AIX) to Full Environment (AIX)

    Hi,
    We have a distributed environment (Windows + AIX). Only CMS runs in Windows Server and the other services in AIX server, these was because we wanted to configure SSO.
    Now, we want to run all services only in the AIX server without Windows Server.
    Is it possible to create the cms in AIX and delete the cms from Windows? What are the correct steps to change the distributed environment for a full one in AIX?
    Any ideas would be helpful...
    Thanks in advance,
    Diana Victorero

    Use the Import Wizard to bring everything over, check the Admin guide for more info.

  • Question is it possible to build a Development environment from my current production environment VMs

    My server admin thinks it is possible to setup a new development environment using copies of the Production VMs.
    He will rename the SQL Server and Sharepoint vms see below:
    SHAREPOINT SERVER
    IP: New IP Address
    FQDN: DEVSharePoint.Local
    SharePoint SQL SERVER
    IP:New IP address
    FQDN: DEVSQLSRV.Local
    Wouldn't I also need to point IIS in the VM to the new DevSharePoint and new DevSQL using the CA, but curently it is looking like the CA points back to the orignal CA and I don't want to remove a server if that is correct?  Also how would I point to
    the Central Admin Site to the new location?
    how can I quickly resolve this?  so I don't impact the current environment with testing new development?

    I think that the best if to create new dev environment.
    Then you can migrate your current SharePoint databases (Content, Services) to the new dev environment.

  • File Adapter vs BPEL interaction issue on high availability environment

    Hi all,
    i would really appreciate your help on a matter i'm facing about a composite (SCA) deployed on a clustered environment configured for high availability. To help you better understand the issue i briefly describe what my composite does. Composite's instances are started by means of an Inbound File Adapter which periodically polls a directory in order to check if any file with a well defined naming convention is available. The adapter is not meant to read the file content but only its properties. Furthermore, the adapter automatically makes a backup copy of the file and doesn't delete the file. Properties read by the adapter are provided to a BPEL process which obtains them using the various "jca.file.xyz" properties (configurable in any BPEL receive activity) and stores them in some of its process variables. How the BPEL process uses these properties is irrilevant to the issue i'd like to pose to your attention.
    The just described interaction between the File Adapter and the BPEL process has always worked in other non-HA environments. The problem i'm facing is that this interaction stops to work when i deploy the composite in a clustered environment configured for high availability: the File Adapter succeeds to read the file but no BPEL process instance gets started and the composite instance gets stuck (that is, it keeps always running until you don't manually abort it!).
    Interesting to say, if I put a Mediator between the File Adapter and the BPEL, the Mediator instance gets started, that is the file's properties read by the adapter are passed to the mediator, but then the composite gets stuck again 'cos even the mediator doesn't seem to be able to initiate the BPEL process instance.
    I think the problem lies in the way i configured either the SOA infrastructure for HA or the File Adapter or BPEL process in my composite. To configure the adapter, i followed the instructions given here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABCBIAH
    but maybe i missed something. Instead, i didn't find anything about BPEL configuration for HA with SOA Suite 11g (all the material i found refers to SOA Suite 10g).
    I've also read in some posts that for using the db as a coordinator between the file adapters deployed on the different nodes of the cluster, the db must be a RAC! Is that true or is possible to use even another type of oracle db?
    Please, let me know if someone of you has already encountered (and solved :)) a problem like this!
    Thanks in advance,
    Bye!

    Hi,
    thanks for your prompt reply. Anyway, i had already read through out that documentation and tried all settings suggested in it without any luck! I'm thinking the problem could be related to the Oracle DB used in the clustered environment, which is not RAC while all documentation i read about high availability configuration always refers to a RAC db. Anyone knows if a RAC Oracle DB is strictly needed for file adapter configuration in HA cluster?
    Thanks, bye!

  • SOA 11g  Composite Deployment across multiple Instances: Best Practice

    Hi,
    We have a requirement where we need to deploy the composite acrocss mutilple instances(DEV,TEST,Production) without JDEV.
    We are using SOA11.1.3.3(cluster) and linux OS.
    Pls suggest me what is the best practice to deploy the SOA composite.
    Thanks,
    AB

    Why there are different ways to deploy the composite in different environment? Depending upon the environment, it's business importance increases and hence access to developers get more restricted and hence there are many ways for deploying. If you are developing an application, you would not like to export a SAR and then login to EM console to deploy it. For a developer it is always very convenient to use IDE itself for deployment and hence JDev is preferably used for Dev instances for deployment.
    Once development finishes, developer will check in the artifacts into version control system and if you want to deploy to a test instance then you have to check out the stable version, compile it and package it and then only you can deploy. Hence for test instances, ANT is the preferable mode for deployment. (Remember that developers may not be able to connect to Test environment directly and hence deployment from JDev is not possible)
    Once a configuration gets tested in Test env, it's SAR should be checked in into version control system, so that it would not be required to recompile and repackaging of it. This will also make sure that any artifact which is not tested on Test instance, must not go to higher instances (like UAT/PROD). Now in Pre-Prod/UAT/Prod, you may simply access the EM console and deploy the SAR which is already tested in Test instance. Remember that there will be very limited access to such critical environments and hence using Role based access of EM it would be very easy to deploy the resources. Moreover, it is more secure mode of deployment because only those users which have appropriate priviledge, will be able to deploy, and it would also be easier to track the changes.
    What is the proc and cons if we use only one way to deploy the composite across the Instances...As such there is no major pros and cons. You may use EM for all environments but it may be a little discomfort for developers/deployers of test environment. You may also use ANT for all the environments but it is not suggested until and unless you have a very good and secure process in place for deployments.

    Anuj

  • Composite with dependency not working after soa server restart

    Hello,
    I have composite application that invokes another composite application. After deploying those work fine. But after restarting soa server the one having dependency does not work any more. To soa server log I get following:

In addition, check that the WSDL associated with the binding namespace is imported and currently reachable (check the import nodes at the top of the composite file). Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server..>
    So POProcessing does not work any more after server restart. validationForCC works fine also after server restart. Url http://...validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL points to wsdl file and is visible by browser.
    I use soa suite 11g patch set 2 (11.1.1.3) running on redhat enterprise linux 5.
    Any idea what is the problem?
    Is it somehow possible to configure which composites are started first during server startup?
    regards, Matti
    Edited by: user10197965 on Jul 1, 2010 2:28 AM

    Yes, I did that. I'm not all that happy about this as a solution either, but it's better than making multiple copies.
    We have since found out that his is a known bug and that it is fixed in some, but not all, deployments.

    Composites With WSDL Dependencies Fail To Deploy Following SOA Server Restart [ID 1272070.1]

    Applies to:
    Oracle SOA Platform - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
    Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Symptoms
    A SOA Project has an external reference to a Web Service or a reference to another Composite.
    When the SOA Server is started, the Composite is trying to access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service in order to load data structures. If SOA can not find the WSDL then the Composite fails to load/deploy.
    Once this happens the Composite can not be started, or shutdown, from Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Application.
    Related Error Messages:
    [ERROR] [SOA-20020] ... Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service ... Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server.]
    javax.wsdl.WSDLException: WSDLException: faultCode=INVALID_WSDL: Error reading import of oramds
    Cause
    When SOA Server is restarting the Composite can not access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service (it is not available).
    In the first scenario there are two Composites on the same server: CompositeA and CompositeB.
    In SOA Suite 11g there is no possibility to specify the load order for the composites. If CompositeA references CompositeB and if CompositeA is firstly loaded then it can not access the WSDL from CompositeB and the issue occurs.
    In the second situation there is one Composite on the server (CompositeA) which references an external WebService (ExternalWS). If the ExternalWS is not available when the SOA Server is starting then this issue occurs.
    Solution
    Solution 1
    Redeploy the affected Composite into the SOA Server.
    You can do that but it is not advisable in a production environment and in a development environment it will take a lot of time to redeploy the composite manually
    Solution 2
    Copy the abstract WSDL locally into the project.
    This is documented in these articles in our Knowledge base:
    •     Document:1155033.1 Node Restart Cause Composites To Become Unavailable. Response: '503: Service Unavailable'
    •     Document:1151973.1 Boot Order Of The Composites Upon Soa Suite Restart
    Steps:
    o     a. Copy and use the WSDL file in the Project
    o     b. Edit the WebService Adapter
    o     c. Change the "WSDL URL" to point to the WSDL copied into the project
    o     d. Redeploy the Project
    o     e. Make this configuration with all the Projects that have a references with other Web Services
    Solution 3
    Use shared artifacts in Metadata Service (MDS). A WSDL used by more than one composite is a shared artifact per definition. If the WSDL structure is changed (that is not happening frequently in a production environment), you will normally deploy a composite with a new version because overwriting it will break your production environment. Moreover, in a development environment you will need a proper process in place where different developers access the same artifacts within MDS. In addition, when you use external WSDLs (owned by third parties), you will have a proper process/agreement in place to be notified about modifications affecting your applications.
    1.     In order to use shared artifacts a MDS connection must be configured in jDeveloper:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85488
    2.     Deploy the shared artifacts:
    o     a. Create a JAR profile and include the artifacts to share
    o     b. Create a SOA bundle that includes the JAR profile
    o     c. Deploy the SOA bundle to the application server
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85472
    If the shared artifacts (WSDLs) needed are from other composites this step can be skipped
    3.     Create a new WebService
    o     a. When completing the "WSDL URL" click on "Find existing WSDL's"
    o     b. Select "Resource Palette"
    o     c. Go to the SOA-MDS
    o     d. Select a WSDL from a Composite or the one deployed at step 2.
    Known Restriction 1
    The port and the location for the WSDL reference is not completed automatically by jDeveloper in the composite.xml file. This information must be inserted manually. In Bug:10287325 is raised this issue and it is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
    Known Restriction 2
    Another issue regarding MDS caching is raised in Bug:10218147 - the MDS cache is not refreshed when an artifact is deployed or deleted.
    In order to refresh this cache the server must be restarted. This Bug resolves the issue but in a production environment the server restart will be the preferred option. The reason for that is because in a production environment you never deploy single composites under the same version after artifacts (WSDLs) have been modified.
    The fix for the Bug:10218147 can be an acceptable solution in development environment where redeployment would be quicker than restarting the server.
    Bug:10218147 is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
    To find out more information about how to use Shared Metadata check the following documentation:

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#CACFEAJJ
    Solution 4
    The last solution is to use an UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration).
    Oracle recommends Oracle Service Registry 11g (OSR). The advantage is that you can use OSR and SOA Suite in a Shared WebLogic Domain.

    Abstract: SOA SUITE COMPOSITE FAILS TO DEPLOY UPON RESTART OF MANAGED SERVER
    *** 03/01/11 08:07 am ***
    Customer has a project consists of two services for interaction with the
    process and one reference to an external service.
    On deployment of the process to an Enterprise Environment, the process works
    as expected. However, upon a restart of the managed server, the process will
    then fail to deploy.
    Workaround used is to redeploy the project again.

    Abstract: WHEN SOA SERVER IS RESTARTED, SOME SOA COMPOSITES COULD NOT LOAD/BE DEPLOYED
    Detailed Problem Description
    ====================
    When a SOA composite get dependencies with other SOA composites located on the same server, if the dependency is still not loaded, the SOA composite will not be loaded, and there is no possibilities for Entreprise Manager console to restart it (EM crash). The only way to make it working is to redeployed the SOA composite from jDeveloper that is not acceptable in a production environment.
    The composite that has the issue cannot be start-up or shut-down, although the Enterprise Manager do not show any errors with it.

  • Regarding how to configurate the sap java server environment

    I've got started to develop java application using webdynpro for java, and the development environment is sap netweaver composition environment 7.1 sr3-trial version java ee only ,   but I have a little trouble about how to configurate the environment for connection with sap and what server configuration is necessary for java development.

    Hi,
    If you want to connect to a SAP back end create a JCo using the NWA. Usage: http://<host>:<port>/nwa
    Once this is done you can import RFC and start accessing bacckend.
    If you need to deploy this application to a SAP J2ee engine, you need to connect to the engine using
    Window->Preferences->SAP AS Java
    Specify the instance host and instance number
    Click on the register SAP instance button.
    Make this as your default SAP System.
