Compressor creates artifacts at the beginning of clip. Then they go away...
So I make calculus videos and I having the file sizes small is important to me but when I compress my videos they have large artifacts in the beginning which then go away after about a minute. Any idea how to prevent this? If I raise the bit rate more they will go away but I would like to keep it low and i don't know why the artifacts go away after a while and it looks fine. Here is an example clip that shows what I'm talking about. Doing a multi-pass also helps a little but not completely.

Is there a way to do an adaptive compression that compresses the beginning at a slightly higher rate or is this just something I have to live with...

Rendering from ProRes HD to DVD m2v compressor creates pulsing blurry images on some clips every 15 frames! i had had this happen twice on 2 different clip since the last update to 6.0.3 most of the movie is fine but when I get to a certain clip in the movie every 15 frames it becomes very blocky!
Anyone have this issue?
Thanks, markI also have the same pulsating pixelation/blur problem. It used to happen occaisionally in the passed, but recently it's been happening a lot. I used to be able to eliminate the problem by (reluctantly) doing a 1-pass, but even that doesn't work anymore. The same pulsating result seems to be there whatever m2v output settings I set. My company has wasted days trying to sort this out.
I never was 100% happy with Compressor - now it's right in the heap for me. I wouldn't recommend it.

the photos that I add to address book will only be there for a few seconds after I close the edit button. Either they go away completely or they are very small portion of the actual photo
Frank, thanks for your note. I wrote "COMPLETED" because I had gone to a lot of effort to get the content of the book precisely as I wanted it. I would fully expect to see my level of effort and care matched by functional competence in Aperture 3 to render the book the way I created it. Too much to ask?
And yes, I upgraded the Aperture 2 Library first. [Not ALL my tens of 000s of pix, because I use Lightroom selectively for photo editing. But Yes to the Aperture 2 Library.] That step took a number of minutes, but seemed to work fine (no error messages of any kind).
Then I opened the existing book project in Aperture 3, which followed some "magic-box" process that took a minute or so. As I said, when that step was done, by all appearances the book was ready to submit for printing - until I examined the photos a little more closely. You did see the blurry example I included, didn't you? That is what each and every photo looks like.
Text-box content appears to have been rendered pertectly, for the record (including captions).
So, ... is this result something you have heard of before? Do you know of a one-step solution? Or am I looking at an extended picture-by-picture fix? -

If they aren't on icloud.com they are no longer in iCloud. If you don't have another backup, I'm afraid they're gone.

For some reason when I plug my phone up to charge it just keeps showing me the apple logo and then it goes away shows the battery sign is low and that its charging. So I'm wondering why it wont turn on would I have t get a new one, and would it be free
If you've tried the basic troubleshooting steps (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new), and you've tried charging from a wall socket and these all fail, then you have a hardware problem.
If your unit is still in warranty, you will be eligible for a replacement with a refurbished unit free of charge. If you are out of your warranty period, you will be eligible for an out of warranty exchange which will cost the equivalent of 200 US dollars. -
Why do my exports have artifacts at the beginning?
I'm a bit stumped on this issue, mostly because it's very subtle and doesn't stay consistent. I export mp4 videos from Premiere CS5 at least once a week, and a lot of times (though not every time, which is odd), the video will have some digital artifacting at the very beginning and very end. It only shows up for a second or so before fading away, and then everything is fine. It's only visible after exporting - the footage in the timeline is perfectly fine. Any suggestions on what to check would be most appreciated.

Try this:
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo. -

Why is Pages, Keynote and Imovie showing up in the free apps area but they show that they are 14.99 and 19.99? Are they free or not?
They are free with a new machine purchase or if you already have the most current previous version installed.
To get iMovie version 10 you must be currently running iMovie version 9. The same with all the other apps. -

Yes, you can download iTunes for Windows using Parallels. If planning on making purchases here and/or authorizing already purchased tracks (from your Mac iTunes library), you are permitted to authorize five (5) computers as per iTunes Store terms of use, regardless of computing platform. No need to create a separate new iTunes Store account.
However, judging from what you would like to do, your best bet would be to convert the WMAs to AAC/MP3 in iTunes-Windows (iTunes-Mac cannot import WMA files), and drag the files from the Parallels window to your desktop to add to the iTunes-Mac library. (as the iPod itself is currently linked to your iTunes-Mac library)

Well first you need to sync your iPhone 4 with your Mac/PC so that it will transfer all your music, apps, podcasts, etc. Then sync your iPod Touch and the media you selected during the sync should be there on your iPhone. If you have difficulty in transferring media from iPhone to your computer, try softwares like TransCopy. They will help in transferring data from your iphone to your computer. Dont forget to check that all the transferred data is in the iTunes media folder so that the iTunes can locate the files. Link to Transcopy software :

My iPod will not charge and I need it to charge. My charger is one that I got from wal mart and its not the original. My computer will say its not a reconizable device and that it's malfunctioned. Is there a way to create folders in the pictures app?
Since I got my Playbook I've been very impressed with the camera quality, way better than my phones 1.3. So I've been taking a lot of pictures. I have taken a lot of my car because I'm making a website for it and want a lot of pictures of it, I take some random ones just for the fun of it, and in school my friends take pictures of themselves with it (it blows the ipad 2's camera quality away) I'd like to put them in separate folders in the pictiures app so that way I don't have to go through all of them and if people want to see the pics they took in school they don't have to go through all of the ones of my stuff on there. I know there is automatically a folder for downloaded pictures, and another for wallpaper like if you got a wallpaper app and download pictures from it. All of my pictures I've taken are in the "camera pictures" folder, so is there a way I can create folders in the app and organize them?

Go to Solution.If you create the folders as a child within the main pictures folder, then they will show up in the app separately. I have many folders with pictures in.
You will need to move the photos manually - they will automatically go in the Camera folder.

CE Flash files always start at the beginning?
I have had an online Continuing education course designed,
which has the main contents embedded into .asp pages.
The problem is that when customers "log-out", then return and
"log in" again whithout closing thier browser, the fllash file
always starts at the beginning, rather than where my database
indicates.
I "think" this is caused by the flashplayer plugin "keeping"
the flash file in memory, and starting the "movie" again at the
beginning? Thus if they close thier browser, deleting the flash
file from memory, and re-starting the browser again, and "logging
in" again, it functions correctly, beginning the flash file on the
correct page (which is indicated in the database)
If this IS what is happening, can this be corrected, so that
upon "Log out" the flash file will be automatically removed,
without the need to re-start the browser?I believe this will work for you. Does for me. Go to SysPref/Speech/Text to Speech. Check box of: Speak selected text when the key is press. Set key. Open the pdf and highlight what you want to hear. Hit key you set. When it's done with it's spiel highlight more text and hit key. It auto erases previous highlight. You'll see. It's not very ideal, but it's what is dealt.
