Computer Crashed, Trying to sync iphone
My computer recently crashed and I had to start from ground zero. I have not put all of my info back onto my computer yet so I don't want to sync it to the new version of my computer but I want to be able to add an app I downloaded on my laptop to my iphone. Everything is grayed out and my only option is to sync. I have authorized this computer to my old account, but there are no backup files of my old itunes on my computer at this point.

If the music on your iPod or iPhone was purchased from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the purchases to your iTunes library.

If you're receiving that message, you data are already gone. If you've been using iCloud and backing up your phone as recommended, you should have no data loss. If you have not, well, hard lesson learned. Good luck.

Restart your computer and the iPhone. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

Trying to sync iPhone to pc but keeps getting internal device error on screen, also showing only 4gb size instead of 32gb. Uninstalled iTunes from pc and reloaded. Powered back up and all songs and info still in place. Anyone had this problem before?
Doublechecking something Emcee. I see you've got Windows 7 x64, so I'm assuming you've got at least 4 GB of RAM. Do you also have an NVIDIA USB EHCI chipset on that PC? If so, see the following Microsoft document:

i am trying to sync iphone 5 to itunes but it says "iTunes could not connect to the iphone as an error occured while reading from the device " and the iphone is not seen on itunes........
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. And then reboot your computer.
See if that fixes your problem. -
backed up my old i-phone 3 to my computer. tried to sync new i-phone 4S to computer to restore info. It is asking for a password. I never assigned one. How do I get to my info????
iTunes will recognize your new phone as a different device from your old phone. Do you have any information on your new phone that you want to save? Restoring to the backup of your old phone will overwrite your data and settings with those of your old phone. If you want to save any data on your new phone, you'll need to do this first. After doing so, connect it to iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and select Restore from Backup, when prompted, selecte the backup of your old phone to restore from.

I bought my iphone 3gs in UK. I moved to Australia and I am now trying to sync iphone. However I keep getting error message "There was a problem downloading software to iphone. A unknown error occurred (9006). I have looked at network settings and everything seems ok. Can anyone help?

Error 9006 on the apple site says "
Error 9006: Following Troubleshooting security software frequently resolves this error. There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your Registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance." -
trying to sync iphone 4 and itunes keeps coming up with "itunes cannot sync apps to the iphone because the apps installed on the iphone could not be determined"?
Same issue. Is this a new bug with iTunes 10.5.1??

You cannot sync an iPhone to an iPad. While you can share or sync some content, there are only selected items that can be done. Your statement is lacking in detail so it is difficult to understand exactly what you are trying to do. It seems as though you want to put your messages and pictures on both devices via Wi-Fi? With Continuity, you can share messages, and pictures could be shared via Photo Stream.

ThanksI suspect the message is referring to you having too many devices associated with the Apple ID you are using for iCloud. You can have a maximum of 10 devices associated with an Apple ID, 5 of which can be computers. This article explains how to remove a device from your Apple ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627.

Everytime I try to sync my new iPhone 4 with iTunes it goes thru the backup and then starts with syncing like 3 or 4 songs then the computer crashes Please help
When this has come up before the most common answer was that it was caused by some driver incompatibility - usually to do with printers. You could try turning off your printer and seeing if that helps.

Any help is appreciated. My PC that I sync my iphone on has crashed and I tried to sync my iphone on my wifes laptop, but she has an iphone as well. I can log into iTunes, but cannot see any of my podcasts, applications or information.
Is there any way to sync two iphones on one computer?The easiest least complicated way to keep your info and her info seperate and not worry about things is to take advantage of user profiles on your computer (in XP)...so each of you log into XP with your own accounts, thus iTunes (and any other software like mail, etc) all have your own settings.
Otherwise, you will have to watch which account is logged into iTunes Store (click store and see what name is up top right in case you both have different accounts)...and make sure you are logged in with the right account before syncing. iTunes does know the difference between your phones so each can setup different settings of what to sync to, but your library on your computer will be mixed unless you do what I said first, use different profiles (user logins) for XP.
