Concept of Assortment in Retail

Dear Friends,
Can we use the concept of Assortment in R/3 without Retail functionalities ?
I want to use the assortment concept but do not want to use the Reatil functionalities.
Please advise.
Regards,
Harsh

Hi Harsh,
In my opinion it cannot be possible, because:
- Assortment is for articles, no materials (there are more tables, and the update of articles is different).
- Assortment requires levels of organization that you dont have in R/3, eg: distribution center. Centers in retail use more tables that in R/3, eg: WRF1, WRF6, and so on.
Read this documents, they help you to understand the differences.

  • Is retail-SD Scope

    Hi,
I want to know how SD Consultant will play a role in IS Retail Project.
My basic understanding, the role SD consultant is limited when it comes to industry specific Retail .
    Enterprise Structure
Site-Here sites (individual store) is treated as Plant
    Master Data
    Article Master-Instead of material master
Pricing-I could see mark up pricing, some percentage.
I am very much confused suppose if a SD consultant happens to work in Is Retail project, what all he has to know.
His Basic SD knowledge is sufficient? or Else he should take any extra effort to learn new things relevant to Is Retail,if so what are the topics to be covered.
    Please clarify me..

    Hi Pradeep,
    As an SD/MM consultant with 9+ years experience with IS-Retail projects, I would first recommend you to go through the IS Retail scenarios and check for the processes that you'd possibly have to cover; Below is the link to the IS-R scenario map, I've not taken the latest as I could not make it work However, the solution scope has not really changed in years;
SAP Retail BP V1.605 - Scenario Map
    It is quite difficult to recommend a specific retail functional area but I see the following list of retail SD (or SD related) areas as a must when working on an IS-R project;
Concept of Assortment & Listing (as listing is usually required to sell article in stores)
    Store Connectivity / POS Interface
    Retail Price Calculation
    Promotions & Bonus Buys, Seasons
Article Hierarchy (do not confuse with Merch.Cat.Hierarchy)
Understand Article Master Data (single/generic+variant/sales set/pre-pack)  & Site Master Data structure
However, I'm sure that experience of other consultants might be completely different and the above list much shorter.. or much longer!
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,
    Tomas

  • Consignment control in SAP IS Retail

Could some one explain me concept of 'consignment control' retail and complete flow of configurations required to start consignment business process in retail.

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/c6/af3c415e5dde2be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Consignment processing in SAP Retail gives you flexibility when dealing with vendor consignment goods. If you transfer vendor consignment goods using stock transfers and delivery, you can keep the same stock category, or the system can convert the goods to your own stock, depending on the requirement of the receiving site and the result of stock determination. If you transfer vendor consignment goods and keep the consignment stock category, the goods remain the property of the external vendor until they are sold.
SPRO --> Logistic General --> Retail Consignment Processing --> Activate Retail Consignment Processing
    By default it is inactive.

  • IS-Retail: design error of u0091general assortmentu0092 concept&POS Outbound WPDWGR

    Hello
I have found a design error of ‘general assortment’ concept related to POS Outbound WPDWGR, but may be you could help to understand why system is designed with error.
Both 'Store Business Offline (ePOS)' and 'Assortment Management' are recommended by SAP as 'best practices'.
'Assortment Management' recommends to use assignment of merchandise categories with general assortments, REFSITE and WSOA6. This documentation promotes concept of 'general assortments' and assignment of assortment users.
IDoc WPDWGR 'Download merchandise categories' is recommended in 'Store Business Offline (ePOS)' best practices for Retail. Program that generates this IDoc knows nothing about general assortments, REFSITE, WSOA6. It uses old assignment of merchandise categories to local assortment in WB02 or WB30. It was not updated to be compatable with 'general assortment' concept.
There is no warning in documentation that if customer will use one of 'best practices' for Retail then another will be not applicable.
    Assortment management:

Does anyone has experience of solving long-time 'ping-pong' OSS customer messages with SAP Support?

    hi
An assortment defines which materials a store, a distribution center or a customer can be supplied with at any given time and can therefore be used to check purchase orders and sales orders.
Every retail site is assigned one (and only one) assortment. This assortment is created when the retail site is created, but is not assigned materials until the listing stage, where materials are assigned to assortments using the assortment modules to which these materials belong
    WB70 Create assortment class
    WB71 Change assortment class
    WB72 Display assortment class
    WB73 Delete assortment class
    WB74 Maintain assortments to classes
    WB75 Maintain classes to classes
    WB76 Maintain assortments in class
    WB77 Display assortments to classes
    WB78 Display Class for Classes
    WB79 Display assortments in class
    WSOA2 Change assortments

  • SAP Retail Store - Store Order - Assortment List

    G'day,
In the SAP Retail Store (SRS) when selecting the "Store Order" "Assortment List" option I've got a request to add columns to the assortment list ( I've done this via Badi IF_EX_WSAO_DISP_EXPAND ).
The challenge now is to make fields within the added columns available for user input. (Currently the fields is only displayed).
Example: I've added columns X, Y and Z in the assortment list.
There are twenty lines in the assortment list and for each line the field in column Y must except input from the user. When the Post Order button is pushed a ME22 transaction must be submitted for each item in the assortment list.
I've copied the internet service for WSTA to ZWSTA but don't have sufficient HTML knowledge to change the HTML page to achieve the above.
Can you please help with a solution.
    Thanks, points will be awarded.

    Hi Mohan,
Thanks for the useful link you shared.
But I am looking for specific configuration and master data set up required for store order creation scenario where " Warehouse stock is created if stock exists else third party order is created"
This option is activated in POS interface inbound profile for store order control by selecting document categorydefault as "A - Warehouse order if stock exists, otherwise third-party order"
Just wanted to understand how this option works by requiring what kind of configuration and master data settings.
Any further suggestions will be really helpful.

  • Remove the article from assortment in SAP IS-Retail

    Hi,
i want to remove the articles from the assortment. not from the system. so kindly provide the guidance regarding that issue.
    thanks in advance

    Hi Sune
The thread you are refering to is quite old, there is a solution available now for doing retail master data governance on SAP MDG. This is offered as a consulting solution now.
The data model itself is modelled after the IS Retail data model for Article master and would leverage on the data governance capabilites offered by the MDG framework.
It is not exactly a supplier portal for data exchange but there have been architecture discussions on using a 'lean' version of the data model as a vendor facing portal and seperating this from internal facing MDG for enriching the ERP specific parts of the article master data , before governing and commiting to the ERP system.
If you are interested in talking more about it would be happy to do so.

  • Assorted Free Goods Problems in Sales Order

    Hello All,
The problem is related to Assorted Free Goods Pricing in Sales Order.I have two queries which are provided below with example:-
In the sales order I am giving 2 Line Items. -
Material A & Material B of total quantity 10PC Then 1 PC of the Material C as 3rd line item
in the sales order is populated which is maintained as an assorted free good having Manual Free Item Category for eg. ZFV5.
Similarly line items A & B combined of 10 PC = 1 PC of Material C having Manual Free Item Category for eg. ZFV5.
Again if 10 PC of Material A or B are chosen respectively =  1 PC of Material C having Manual Free Item Category for eg. ZFV5 .
_Now I want to configure the following**_ -
    1) The system will include the cost of the Assorted Free Good Item within the Main Item.
    2) While raising a Sales Return Order for the above mentioned Sales Order it is observed that the manual free item category ZFV5 is changed to the Return Main Item Category whereas I want the item category to be picked up is Return Free Item Category against the Manual Item category .
Now considering the above scenarios please suggest solutions to attain my requirement.
Looking forward to some valuable suggestions.
    Thanks & Regards
    Priyanka

    Hi Priyanka
As far as what i understood from your post your requirement doesnt seem to be possible in standards
If you want the cost to be transferred to the main item then in VTFL at item level there is a check box of cumulative cost
    That has to be ticked
    Constraintsin free goods in R3
Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: u2018With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of chargeu2018 or u2018If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of chargeu2018.
Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.

  • Listing in SAP Retail

    Hello,
We have 5 different distribution chains in our Retail system. The materials that I need to extend and list have already been extended to 3 out of 5 distribution chains in the past. We do not want to extend them to remaining 2 out of 5 existing distribution chains. I need to do listing of existing materials to new 6th distribution chain 4012/01.
Out of the thousands of articles we have, 400 articles have the Listing data (mm43 listing tab) created at client level after they were listed to the 3 distribution chains. When I try to list these materials to the new 4012/01, the system tries to list these materials to all remaining distribution chains (since Listing data is at client level).
Is there any way to get rid of the Listing data created at client level in article master? I believe table MAW1 has the data at client level and simply making the assortment grade, listing procedures, validity dates (i.e. listing specific fields) blank fixes the problem. After doing this, I am able to list only to the distribution chain I provide, i.e. 4012/01.
Is it ok to make changes to MAW1 directly? Will it make the article inconsistent in any way for other existing distribution chains or be detrimental in any way? Or any better way to do this?
    Thanks
    Sagar

    Hello Sagar.
Is not ok to make changes in MAW1 or any other table. This can cause serious inconsistency problems and can put the whole retail system in jeopardy.
On the other hand, you can suspend an article at distribution chain level. This will delete not only the listing data, but all data regarding to the specified distribution chain. Check this at the article master menu.
Assortment grade rules and assortment grades are supplied to automatically list, or not list, articles at distribution chains or sites. Check this functionality, this will help a lot in your listing requirements.

    Hi,
Valuation at retail in SAP Retail corresponds to all aspects of the retail inventory method as used in the trade. Valuation at Retail is transparent and easy to follow. When you use this method, inventory is updated in the article master at retail and at the same time in the Retail Information System (RIS), allowing you to carry out a number of powerful analyses.
Stock margins and inventory valuation in Financial Accounting are always up to date. And thanks to the integration of valuation at retail with Inventory Management and the integration of Inventory Management with Financial Accounting, Controlling and Profitability Analysis, the valuation data is consistent in all areas.
Valuation at retail can be used for both quantity and value-based Inventory Management and Inventory Management on a value-only basis. The following explains how you can best use valuation at retail for your requirements:
In SAP Retail, the valuation area must always correspond to a site.
In retailing it is common practice to record the retail price of inventory (retail method). Since it is extremely time-consuming to determine all the costs associated with the procurement of an article without the use of modern IT systems, it is all the more difficult to determine the delivered cost of merchandise. In view of this, the delivered cost of an article is usually taken as an average price calculated on the basis of the retail value.
    (a) Valuating inventory at delivered prices (cost inventory method)
You can only apply this method if you can ensure that all changes involving an article can be accurately recorded. What is known in the trade as the u201Ccost inventory methodu201D or the u201Ccost methodu201D involves valuating stocks at delivered prices and assigning costs to individual articles.
    (b) Valuating inventory at retail (retail inventory method)
What is known in the trade as the u201Cretail inventory methodu201D or the u201Cretail methodu201D involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level. Stock is updated at retail for every merchandise category and department. For balance sheet valuation purposes on the balance sheet key date, the delivered cost of the stock is worked out based on a gross margin between cost and retail.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
    Bye and all the best,
    Muralidhara

  • Article Deletion in SAP Retail

What is the process for deleting an article and then archiving the article in SAP Retail ECC6.0?  So far what I have is to:
    1.  Go to MM46 and find layouts for article
    2.  Go to WLWBN and Delete Assignments
    3.  Go to Assortment in WSP6 and delist from DC and stores.
    4.  Stop replenishment and procurement using MM42 go to Logistics -- General Control Param -- Article Status -- status block article
    5.  Go to ME15 and Mark Info Recs for deletion
    6.  WRF_DIS_SEL - Put in Article and then click "Client_Wide Article Discontinuation" to get green button.  Select All - discontinue
I need to know what is wrong with the above process, or what do I need to add to the above process?  The issue is that we will go into SARA and try to delete the article and the process ends up not being able to see the article for deletion.  We have no activity against the article and no inventory for that article.  So there must be something I am missing here.

Probably a bit too late, but check this information:
