Concept of Reserve in WIP Config

Hi there,
Pls can somebody expalin me the concept of reserves in WIP config? In t-code OKGA, we give one  cost element of nature 31 for WIP and one cost element for Reserve. I am unable to understand this reserve Cost element. Under what circumstances the WIP will get posted to reserver and not to WIP?
Pls some bosy explain me..
Thanks & Regards

You can maintain reserves for unrealized costs
for example You are producing a production order
You have inured costs for 25 units worth (Rawmaterial activity hours etc), but have an output of 30 quantity of finished product
so you have to maintain a reserve for unrealized costs ie  the costs that you would incur for the extra 5 quantity
For ex: 30 quantity costs should be 30000 $
But you have inured only 25 ie 25000$ only
So the unrealized costs of 5000 has to be maintained in reserve
hoep i am clear.
Revert back for further information
Thanks

  • Problem in WIP Config...

    Dear Experts,
I have few doubt on Costing related config.
    1) For WIP- I am going to assign all my consumption and activity secondary cost element under COP lineid under Assignment of cost element of WIP and Result analysis.
Here i am consfused regarding consumption a/c assignment.Shall i include COGM a/c of FG and SFG also under COP lineid or only include RM/PM/SFG consumption a/c only.
    2) What account need to assign Under SET in Assignment of cost element of WIP and Result analysis.
    3) We have Byproduct and need to deduct cost from RM cost component -Shall i create seperate valuation class for the same and defined the same Gl under RM cost component along with RM consumption A/c in cost component structure or i will use Rm valuation class also.

    Hi Raman
Q1 - No harm if you specify FG Consumption a/c also.. FG Cons is required if the FG can be consumed further in rework scenario or during normal prod scenario
However, COGM account is not required to be assigned... Usually, people use masking like 0041++++ to cover all cost elements starting from 41
Q2 - You assign "Change in WIP account" for SET
Q3 - It is better to use a separate valuation class and consumption account

  • COPC WIP setup

how to do the WIP config for COPC?
can show me step by step and the discription?
please tell me the reason of each step of the config.

    Step 1
Define Results Analysis Key OKG1. Here you just give a name, four letter key with its description.
    Step 2
Create cost elements of type 31 the following minimum
    i. Valuated Actual cost, say for eg. 990001.
    ii. Calculated Costs, say 990002.
    iii. WIP account 990003
    iv. WIP Reserve 990004
    v. WIP Reserve 990005
    Step 3
Define RA version, OKG9, Enable Transfer to Financial Accounting (checkbox)
Under extended control, you may enable checkboxes relating to
    i. Generate line items
    ii. Assignment/RAkey
    iii. Update / RAkey
Enter the cutoff period for actual RA/WIP, the effective date before which any WIP data if existed, will not be altered.
    Step 4
In OKGC, define the valuation method for WIP. Here, you specify that WIP calculation mode is one when the order has the staus REL and the calculated WIP shall be cancelled when the order status changes to DLV or TECO. You maintain this data for CO area, RA version and RA key combination.
    Step 5
    SPRO>Controlling>Product Cost Controlling>Cost Object Controlling>Product cost by order>Period End Closing>Work in process>Define Line IDs.
The line IDs are similar to cost component, that you create during cost estimates of products. This need not be as elaborate like cost component structure, but just minimal like a) 010 for Material b) 020 for Labor and c) 030 for Overhead to say the least. Besides these, create one more line ID say 999 for the Settled Cost, which appear as credit when you make a goods receipt.
Create additional WIP type 31 cost elements and their corresponding Reserve account for the above
    vi. WIP Material 990006
    vii. WIP Material Reserve 990007
    viii. WIP Labor 990008
    ix. WIP Labor Reserve 990009
    x. WIP Overhead 990010
    xi. WIP Overhead Reserve 990011
    Step 6
Now you assign the source cost elements OKGB, that are expected in the production order to various line ID as created above.
You maintain this data for CO area, RA version and RA key combination.
You use masking when you mention which cost element to be assigned to various IDs. You can also direct various cost element, if it comes with a combination of particular cost center and activity type to a particular Line ID. If you need to keep it simple, just enter +++++++++ for cost centers, activity types and Business processes. Cost elements can be masked as follows; for eg. All cost primray cost elements for materials, if they start from 210001 to 219999, the you can mask them like 00021+++++.
Give the line ID in the column Required to Capitailze.
    Step 7
Define the update. OKGA You maintain this data for CO area, RA version and RA key combination. Here you specify which line IDs are to be grouped under which cost elements and their reserve account. You connect the cost elements created in step 5 to the line IDs.
The category for the line IDs for material, labor and overhead shall be K, that stand for cost.
The line ID 999 settled cost shall be maintained as category A, (settled cost). When you assign A, you won’t have to maintain any cost elements for WIP and reserve creation.
    Step 8
Define posting rules for WIP calculation OKG8
You do this for Controlling area, company code, RA version. Maintain this for RA category WIPR (WIP cost, Required to be capitalized) and RUCR (Reserve for unrealized cost)
You maintain the P& L account (changes to stock) and the balance sheet (WIP)account. These G/L accounts are posted in Financial Accounting.
    Step 9
Ensure number range assignment for the WIP transactions under appropriate head OKG6:
    KABG Automat. WIP/results analysis
    KABM Manual WIP/results analysis
KSWP Prim. Target Cost Calc. (WIP)
KSWS Sec. Target Cost Calc. (WIP)

  • Reservations from ASCP

    Hi,
    I have a question on ASCP (11.5.10)funtionality.
We create SO for ATO Model, configure it to create * Item (configured item). We collect data and run unconstrained plan. Checking the workbench we can see that ASCP recommends to create a Discrete Wip Job (Make Item). We release the order from ASCP. This will run the WIP Mass Load and creates a WIP JO in the destinations (Transaction) instance. But, it does not get reserved to the Sales order, is this a bug in ASCP? If this is a functionality what is the logic behind this, why is oracle not reserving the WIP order for the sales order?
What is the best possible workaround to populate the reservatiion automatically?
    Looking forward for a reply.
    Thanks

When you release a job, ASCP creates a record in wip interface table.
Write a d/b trigger on this table.
In the trigger, use the transaction id to find the record in msc_supplies.
Traverse the pegging tree using this to reach the demand_id.
Using the demand id get the sales order number.
Create a temp. table that stores the job# and the sales order number.
    Use that as a link.
If you want, you can then use this table and create reservations between the sales order and the work order.
    Hope this helps

  • MESSAGE ERROR: WIP a target cost only possible with Product Cost by Period

I work with orders assign to WBS Element (Non-valuated stock).
If I enter confirmation to an order created, and then execute KKAX transaction to calculate WIP, the system shows this error message u201Cu2018WIP a target cost only possible with Product Cost by Periodu2019u201D, but actually the result has been calculated ok.
If WIP is executed collectively KKAO the error message is the same but the result is not calculated
Everything suggests that what we want is possible, but the error doesnu2019t disappear
Does anyone know what could be reason for the error?
    Thanks

    Hi
Check your RA key and WIP customizing... WIP at target cost is possible only in Product cost by period
Check your settlement rule in Prod Order.. I guess it would be FUL and not PER.. FUL settlement means you are in product cost by order.. There seems to be a mismatch between your settlement type (FUL/PER) and WIP config
Moreover, if your stock is non valuated, do you at all need to calculate WIP for prod orders? I dont think so

  • Agents Toggle Between Reserved & Ready Status - UCCE 8.0(1a).

    Hello,
In our UCCE 8.0(1a) Progger, we're facing this problem in one especific skill.
The Agent Targeting Rule is configured with a correct range of extensions.
The Routing Plans of our UCM don't conflict with any extension.
The agents are below an Agent Desk Settings with no Auto Answer.
Note: The agents don't hang up the call at Ring.
How can we solve this issue?
    Thanks!

    Joao,
This is looking like CUCM thing - confirm the exact behavior please as I asked in my other 2 questions?
If ICM shortlist an agent and reserves it - ICM config is fine - it send out the Agent Extension as a label to the Routing Client which in-turn should send it to CUCM, so:
    1. 2 question I asked in my above post
    2. You using CVP or IP-IVR - if CVP do we have CUPS or DNP SRV record pointing to CUCM for these extensions?
    3. You using Agent Targeting Rule or Device Targets - if Device Targets do we have labels for these Device Targets in question?
    4. Unassociate and reassociate the extension to pguser in CUCM
    5. Also confirm Phone model and CUCM version please?
    Thanks,

  • Miising part list and its reservation

    Dear All,
While creating a production order system shows the missing part list i.e, it means everything is available to prepare a product but some components are missing. so we need to have thses components at that storage location (shop floor store). So please guide me how can i create reservation of only missing components.
As u know system generates the reservation of all BOM items whic is useless for us as we need to have only missing parts. All other components are there.

You missunderstand the concept of reservation in SAP; reservation is created always, regardless of it's availability. A reservation is like a requirement, and you need requirements for ALL materials/components in a production order.
I guess that you meant that you need to purchase or procure only the missing parts; I don't know how planning (MRP) is done in your place, but normally this work is done by the planner. If the situation is of material staging, then the warehouse or stock coordinator has it's own tools (MF60).

  • Status of the CKEditor integration

The CKEditor component from the Incubator (as per the RAP 2.3 release) feels like a proof of concept and lacks certain features.
config.js is hard-coded in the jar, I'd like to disable some buttons
the UI language is hard-coded in config.js and can't be set from outside, I need it to be localized
most plugins are disabled, I need the link plugin to add links
when I enable the link plugin - the dialogs look different (no relation to RAP themes) and don't seem to work properly as it seems RAP is catching the clicks, I need to turn most parts of the link dialog off, I need the remaining controls to work and I need the look and feel to be halfway similar to the rest of the application
widget.setEnabled doesn't do anything - I'd like a way to turn ckeditor into a viewer, so that the HTML content looks the same
In older conversations I found a number of references to the missing functionality and to plans for the future:
enhancement request for a Modify Listener

Is there a roadmap? Is this component intended to be a full-blown rich text editing solution for RAP at some point in time? Is it just a quick-and-dirty proof-of-concept to show that it's possible, but if I have different requirements - I need to write my own version of that widget and use the one in git as an inspiration, because exposing all the configurability of CKeditor in a generic project-independent Java API would be too complex.
What way forward would you suggest?

    Hi.
So, as you mostly guessed, the CKEditor widget was mainly implemented as
an RAP Custom Widget example. However, it's in productive use also, so
    it's not like it's unusable.
Right now, if you need to customize the CKEditor config you need to
check out the source and manipulate it yourself. The readme has some
hints also[1]. Right now I can't comment on the dialogs.
We just did RAP 3.0 and will need some time to plan ahead for 3.1. Since
there seems to be some interest in the CKEditor there's a chance that it
will part of that, especially now that there is a similar Nebula
widget[2]. We may consider updating to CKEditor 4, make it Nebula
compatible, and/or enable customization. Integration into RAP theming or
Modify listener don't seem very likely for technical reasons.
If you can list some features that would absolutely need (as opposed to
"nice to have"), we might include them in our planning.
So in regard to the question what way forward I would suggest, it
depends on your time frame. We may decide on the fate of the CKEditor in
the next few weeks, but even then we may not commit to any specific
date. So if you need results soon, you may have work on it yourself. We
would certainly welcome contributions to the Incubator repository, if it
    matches the projects coding conventions.
If you can wait a few months, wait until we publish a plan for RAP 3.1
    Greetings,
    Tim

  • SAP Query - material costs split by labour/ingredients

    Hi,
    Is it possible to create a SAP query to show the following;
Material / Lab unit cost / Material lab cost
I'd also like to be able to select r show 1 or 2 cost variants.
I essentially need a list of materials and their costs broken down into their constituent parts.
How can I do this please?
    Thanks

    Hi Commandante
You can not have WIP split in the FI GL accounts.....
However, there is a work around possble which can give you the break up in report
You need to do small tweaking to get WIP by cost component
    1. Define as many LINE IDs as your cost components in OKTZ
    2. For eg: If you have cost components like raw material, packing material, labor, machine cost.... then define similar LINE IDs and do the relevant configuration for WIP as per these line IDs.... Assign the specific cost elements in WIP config instead of masking....
    3. Assign cost comp str in OKN0 and choose product group = Material Group.. Transport it to production
    4. Run KKRV to collect the data
    5. Now run the WIP reports in KKO0
When you execute your KKO0 reports, WIP would be with the same breakup as your cost components
This is a tried and tested approach!!

  • SSIS 2005 and SSIS 2012 Have Different Data Flow Output

    Hi Guys,
I'm currently converting our SSIS 2005 packages to 2012 and I'm finding an odd difference on the Data Flow Output when it imports a txt file to a table.
We have a pipe delimited file ( contains a totals on the bottom row).
    CATNO|Title|Total Stk Avail|Stk on Order|Rank|QOH|Allocated|Reserved|BackOrd|WIP|Cleared|Held
    CATNUM000067|Fast and Furious|9804|0||9804|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000068|Frozen|0|0||0|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000029|Brave|0|0||0|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000029|Brave with Kinect|0|0||0|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000029|Big Hero|0|0||0|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000057|Transformers|27376|0||27376|0|0|0|0|0|0
    CATNUM000013|James Bond|121|0||121|0|0|0|0|0|0
    ,Total Available Stock,524259
And these are the settings for the flat file connection
In SSIS 2005, the total rows are being omitted automatically by the data flow. Basically only 7 rows are inserted whereas in SSIS 2012. 8 rows were inserted including the totals.
if we think about it, SSIS 2012 is correct since we just feed what's ever in the file.
But on the conversion and testing perspective, it's now harder as there's discrepancies between those 2 version.
I just like to check if there's any other discrepancies in terms on results/output between SSIS 2005 and SSIS 2012
    Many thanks.

    Hi Vinxster,
After testing the issue that Flat File Connection Manager cannot handle file with total row in my SQL Server 2005 environment, I can reproduce it.
Based on my research, the issue is caused by the Column Delimiter gets first preference and then Row delimiter. This is by design in SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2.
Good news is that the issue is fixed in SQL Server Data Tools which comes with SQL Server 2012. In SQL Server 2012, by default, the Flat File Connection Manager always checks for a row delimiter in unquoted data, and starts a new row when a row delimiter
is found. This enables the connection manager to correctly parse files with rows that are missing column fields.
If you want to fix the issue in SQL Server 2005, there is a sample component posted to the CodePlex that might help you with this:

I am new to Oracle UCM. I need to know what all is required to setup contributor and consumption instances on same server. I have few queries as below:
    1. do we need to create two different DB users for repository.
    2. should we also install two UCM instance (like Oracle_ECM1 & Oracle_ECM2)
    thx,

  • Customer Hierarchy in Pricing

    Hello,
Please tell me how Customer Hierarchy is used in Pricing? Concept?
What are the config. we have to do?
How do we track it in the pricing?
    Thank you.

    dear emre
    Customer Hierarchies
    Use
With customer hierarchies you can now create flexible hierarchies to reflect the structure of customer organizations. For example, if your customer base includes multi-level buying groups, cooperatives, or chains of retail outlets, you can create hierarchies to reflect the structure of these groups. You use customer hierarchies in order and billing document processing for partner and pricing determination (including rebate determination) and for creating statistics.
You can use customer hierarchies to assign price conditions and rebate agreements to one of the customer’s subordinate levels, to ensure that all subordinate levels are valid for the customer. For each node that you indicate as relevant for pricing, you can create condition records for pricing. If one or more nodes in a hierarchy path for a sales order contain pricing data, this is automatically taken into account in pricing.
    Integration
You can also use customer hierarchies for evaluations in profitability analysis (CO-PA) and in the Sales Information System (SIS):
To evaluate customer hierarchies with the sales information system and in the profitability analysis, you can maintain the field Hierarchy assignment on the Marketing tab page in the customer master record for a hierarchy customer. Here you can maintain 10 features for hierarchy customers (HIEZU01 to HIEZU10). You can use these to evaluate hierarchies statistically with up to 10 levels. (Field catalogue VHIE)
Note that the hierarchy assignment is statistical. If you change the customer hierarchy, you may need to change the hierarchy level manually in the customer master record in the Hierarchy assignment field.
    Features
A customer hierarchy is a flexible structure consisting of customers. Each customer - with the exception of the uppermost customer - refers to another customer at a higher level in the hierarchy (known as a higher-level customer). Customers that are assigned to higher-level customers are known as dependent customers.
To be able to display organizational elements, that are not independent partners, you can assign pure hierarchy nodes (account group 0012) in the hierarchy. Specific data can be assigned to a hierarchy node (for example, address, price conditions, rebate agreements) and this then applies to all subordinate customers.
As all nodes in a hierarchy are time-dependent, you can adapt the customer hierarchy to changes in the structure of a customer at any time.
Customers can be reassigned in a hierarchy When reassigning a customer, all subordinate customers are moved with it
You can add new customers to a hierarchy When you assign a new customer to an existing hierarchy, all pricing data, that applies to the higher-level hierarchy node, is automatically copied from the customer
You can also remove customers from the hierarchy

  • Accrual account,Variance Account is invalid while PO Requsition Import.

    Hi Gurus,
We are working on "How to set up Outside processing - Procure to use in WIP for Standard Costing" concept. While Perform a WIP Move Transaction to the OSP Step we are getting the follwoing errors
    Accrual account is invalid
Cause: The accrual account that you entered or that was derived is invalid.
Action: Enter a valid accrual account.
    Variance account is invalid
Cause: The variance account that you entered or that was derived is invalid.
Action: Enter a valid variance account.
When we checked the "PO_REQUISITIONS_INTERFACE_ALL" table ,there is Null value for "variance_account_id","Accrual_account_id" columns.
We checked the account setups in the "Inventory" level for "Accrual account" and "Variance Account",everything is fine.
Please provide me solution for resolving this issue.
    Thanks
    SR.

I think  the value you are passed for ACCRUAL_ACCOUNT_ID and VARIANCE_ACCOUNT_ID  are Invalid.
    Please check
    SELECT * FROM GL_CODE_COMBINATIONS WHERE CODE_COMBINATION_ID =  < value of Accrual A/c id >
Record should exists in GL_CODE_COMBINATIONS table.
