Concurrency in communication channel

Hi,
in the file receiver adapter there is a field called "maximum concurrency", which specifies how many messages that comm channel will attempt to process at the same time (concurrently).
However, there is also a field in the NWA. From SAP documentation:
...a new parameter messaging.system.queueParallelism.maxReceivers was
introduced which can be set in NWA in service XPI Service: Messaging System. With this
parameter you can restrict the maximum number of receiver consumer threads that can be
used by one interface. Note: This is a global parameter at the moment that affects all
adapters. It should therefore not be set too restrictively. We recommend that you set it to 5
(so that each interface can use 5 consumer threads for each server node) and increase the
overall number of threads on the receive queue for the adapter in question (for example,
JDBC) to 20. With this configuration it will be possible for four interfaces to get resources in
parallel.
So global parameter affects the hole messaging system, the other just the comm channel.
QUESTION: What does it mean that the global parameter is set to 0 in my system? I can't find information. Does it mean the parameter is deactivated (I guess so) so there's no global limit? Or it means that it's not possible any paralelism possible in the receiver side?

Here are an explanation regarding the different values for this paramenter:
Maximum Concurrency = 1. This is the default value of Maximum Concurrency. This means a
single receiver File/FTP channel can acquire only one FTP
connection. This case does not offer any parallel processing of
messaging by single channel.
Maximum Concurrency > 1. This ensures that resource pool size (FTP conneciton size) is
limited to specified value per single File/FTP receiver channel. For
instance, setting this parameter to 2 will ensure that a single
receiver File/FTP channel can acquire 2 FTP connections in
parallel(if needed).

In Receiver Communication Channel which is connected to oracle data base ..while updating records Status from N to C . i am getting following errors :

Hi Jagannath
you can specify the maximum concurrency for receiver adapters. This defines the number of messages an adapter can process in parallel on a cluster node.
Enter the number of messages to be processed in parallel by the receiver channel. For example, if you enter the value 2, then two messages are processed in parallel. Default value is 1 and this means only one message can be processed at a time by the receiver channel.

Error in JDBC receiver Communication Channel

Hi,
I am facing a problem at receiver communication channel of JDBC adapter. I am gettting the error as,
"com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Channel has reached maximum concurrency(5,000 concurrent Messages) and no free resourse found within 5,000 milliseconds; Increase the maximum Concurrency Level."
I am having the configuration on 4 different nodes. but suddenly only 1 out of 4 is working fine but remaining 3 are throwing this exception. It says to increase Maximum Concurrency level but i want to send only one message through one channel.
Is there a way to rectify this error. I am in deep trouble.
can anyone help me out in solving this issue, Its very greatfull if you do the needy.

These are concerned to MS only but not at JDBC adpater.
We have to look at JDBC prospective but not at the MS prospective.
So can you please look into the issue as JDBC adapter perspective.
Its like this that, there are 5000 messages are waiting for the free resource with in the next 5secs and as it is reached maximum concurrency of 1.
So my question here is,
Is there only one option to increase this value to 2 or more?
Or else do we have any other option to overcome this problem.

Error in Receiver JDBC communication channel

Hi friends,
I am getting an error in communication channel while inserting xml data into ORACLE database. Error is like
"Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SUB_ORDER_HEADER' (structure 'STATEMENT_SUB_ORDER_HEADER'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00936: missing expression ".
In the above error 'SUB_ORDER_HEADER' is table and 'STATEMENT_SUB_ORDER_HEADER' is a statement tag of XML SQL.
Please help me to solve the issue.

Hi,
Since oracle database has all fields in Caps, and also it is case sensitive. So check whether you have the database table name and the field name specified in the datatype are concurrent with the fields and the table name in oracle table.

Orphan sessions - end of communication channel

Dear Colleagues,
We are facing with a server crash or are forced to shutdown and restart the db server on monthly basis approx. and we believe that this problem is related to orphan sessions created by users connected through application servers (remote desktop connection - RDC) and when our off-site link drops these sessions exists on the db and when the connection re-establishes new connections are formed and this kept on going untill a crash occurs or we are forced to shutdown the db - which also ends in a crash after giving a message 'End of communication channel' - to control the extra sessions from being created we tried setting the retention time of a connection to 5 minutes but this seems to be adding on to the problem as well. Before proceeding any further let me apprise you on our environment:
Windows 2000 Advanced server running on ML-570 dual processor
Oracle 9.0.1.1.1
DB Users: 350-300 approx. concurrent sessions
Front end application s/w are developed in VB 6 and are deployed on "Unisys ES 7000 Orion 230" on 3-4 partitions each of 4-6 processors - These is used as our application servers.
We believe this started roughly after we gave access to our off-site offices because we have 1 GB LAN access at the main site and the users are given thin clients (HP thin clients) and this problem existed nevertheless, restart of db server once in a while - which is something every windows user does and we all know.
Can any body please tell us is this a orphan session problem and its remedy? or its something else - do we need an application server to manage the transactions or any thing which can help in the resolution of the problem.

Try tracing the drop user statement. Then you'll see exactly what's happening very near the point where the socket is closed. Repeating the test with varying input parameters--I know there are many of them and that's precisely the point--for a few iterations will produce enough trace data that you'll be better equipped to decide on a reasonable course of action.

drop user hard_to_kill;
The resulting trace data will tell you if you have to go so far as admin level sql net tracing.

Configuration Communication Channel Using FTPS

We have installed the certificat in the Visual Administrator in Key Storage (Part SSL & Trsuted Ca) and in SSL Provider
We have created the communication but when we try to send the file we have a mesage in the workbench
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: ConnectException: Connection timed out (errno:238)
We have implemented the last patch level for ABAP

Using a variable in communication channel

Hi,
I have a lot of Communication Channels looking for files in the same directory. This directory's path will be changed soon and so I assume I'll have to change all my Communication Channels.
I was wondering whether there was a means of using a variable for the Source Directory in order to just have to change its value where it is defined and not every where it is used...

Is this a sender file adapter? or a receiver file adapter?
You can make a change / make the receiver file adapter's directory dynamic by setting the value during runtime in the mapping.

Error in the SOAP Receiver communication channel

My scenario is RFC - to -SOAP (synchronous ) i have specified the TARGET URL inthe SOAP receiver comminication chanel.. but while testing the interface by providing the test data from R/3 .. I'm not getting any Respose.. ..
If I check in the SXMB_MONI in i'm getting the following message .. but the URL whicjh i provided that is fine.. but my doubt is through XI may be it's not able to connect the Target System... .. so, please suggest me...

By default, the SOAP adapter sends the SOAP message with the content type text/xml.
When you check "Do not use SOAP envelope", the default contnet type is application/xml.
You can change the content type like this: Go to the SOAP receiver communication channel module tab. Add the module "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" before the standard module. Add the parameter name Transform.ContentType and value text/xml.

How to set up the communication channel for third party idoc

Hello,
I am trying to send an idoc from an sap 4.6c system to an third party system. The third party system is supporting idcos with trfc.
My problem is to set up the communication channel in the integration builder (configuration) for the third party system. The idoc is waitung in XI to transport.
My settings are:
adapter type: idoc
transport protocol: idoc
message protocol: idoc
adapter engine: integration engine
rfc destination: xyz (is working fine)
interface version: sap release 4.0 or higher
port: ??
sap release 46c
My problem is the port. should i set up a port in idx1? But the third party is not an sap system and so i dont have a client.
On the xi i have defined a port in transaction we21 (transactional rfc) for the third party with my rfc destination xyz. But if i enter that port in communication channel i got error messages.

Hi Christian,
yes, you have to mainztain that port in idx1.
First ypi load the rfc-metadata from an SAP referenzsystem and afterwards copy this metadata to the third party port.

Convrtd to Invterval Part- ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

I had a table as Interval Partitioned. In order to create XML- Xpath indexes on it, I converted it to Range Partitioned table.
I am able to create the XPATH indexes but I get the error: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
- When I revert the code to Interval Partitioned without the XMLIndex, it works fine(although takes time as no XML Index)
- When I convert table to non partitioned table, create the XML Index, it works fine.
But I need the partitons, so when I create the partitioned table I get the error.

I think it's time you give a clear (and working) test case so that we can safely try to reproduce the issue.
What you've given so far has syntax error and name mismatch.
So please :
- database version (SELECT * FROM v$version)
- complete sequence of DLLs
- some sample XML documents (it doesn't have to be the real ones, but at least something realistic)

Error in Receiver Communication Channel in FCC

I have a simple scenario of Proxy to File. I have to just one field in complete row. So my structure is as below : MT_RecordIB -> Records. So my XSD looks like this :

But I am getting following error in Receiver Communication Channel :

Reason: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure 'ns0:MT_RecordIB' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)' (Software version: 3.0.21)

Need to use only one sender and receiver communication channel.

Hello Experts.
I have a scenario where in I have to use only one sender and receiver communication channel to push files from different source directories to different receiver directories.
For Eg;
Sender
D://dir1/file1 --->                  E://dir1/File1
F://dir2/file2 ---->                 G://dir2/file2
H://dir3/file3----->                 I://dir3/file3.
Can this be achieved by using pass through scenario?
Please let me know if the requirement is not clear.

Hi Advit,
I think it is possible. You have to use the Advanced Selection for Source file in the sender channel to define multiple files to be picked up. Also, the Dynamic configuration must also be enabled and used in the mapping so you can manipulate the target directory and target file name based on your source files.

One communication channel with 2 cluster node functioning at the same time

Hi Gurus,
We have PI 7.1 installed in a HA environment, which includes two servers.
server A: ASCSSCSDBERSAAS
server B: ERS + PAS
and we can see a jdbc channel in the communication channel monitoring, and along with the CC there are two cluster ID available,both of which are showing green -- functioning.
now the issue is the process is actually not started because there is no processing details, and when we stop the CC and then start, nothing happens, but there are still 2 green nights, seems very strange.
does any one have such experience and how can make these two nodes work well?

Probably they use an older version of alsa that doesn't have dmix enabled by default.

i register one Communication Channel to recieve two different XML-Structure and when i sent second structure there was a Mapping error, because XI waiting for first XML-Structure.
