Concurrent Manager : Specialization Rule : Responsibilty Level

Gurus,
We have new requireent to create seprate manager for executing requests which are comming from specific responsibility, Since the requests comming from specif responsibility will be expected to run long time .
The reson beehind the requirments.
We are maintaing Historical data and to access the report we have created two set of responsibilities for online data and archive data.
Sometime user submiting Archive database request during business hours which is expected to run little long time.
Now we would like to restrict to run such report during business hours , if at all manadatory to run then we are thinking to create seprate manager with mnimal process.
Question:
How to define specialzatio ule for responsibility level ?
Regards,
Raju

This feature is not available yet and we have few enhancement requests created to achieve the same -- ENHANCEMENT : CONCURRENT MANAGER SPECIALISATION RULE ON RESPONSIBILITY
Please see the following docs for a workaround.

    Hello,
Sometimes even we kill the concurrent manager process at os level but that session still exits in the database. So now how can we verify the control code of concurrent managers in the database.Kindly tell me.

Sometimes even we kill the concurrent manager process at os level but that session still exits in the database. So now how can we verify the control code of concurrent managers in the database.Kindly tell me.If you kill the CM process from the OS, you do not need to kill any concurrent manager sessions from the database.
If you terminate a concurrent request, then you can kill the database sessions (if any exist) from the database using (Concurrent Processing - How to Find Database Session & Process Associated with a Concurrent Program Which is Currently Running. [ID 735119.1]).

  • How to assign concurrent program to concurrent manager

    Hi:
How to assign concurrent program to concurrent manager? or the other way around. It was an interview question. for R12 or 11i
    Thanks

All concurrent programs, by default, will be run thru the Standard Manager. If you need to have a specific manager run a program, you need to define specialization rules (in Concurrent > Manager > Define, "Specialization Rules" button) for that manager.

  • No concurrent manager is defined to process this request,so it can't be pro

    Hello Friends
I am facing a serious problem in my production server. After Stop/Start my application I have to run cmclean.sql to active "Output Post Processing" concurrent manager.
I have find out that when I down my application FNDLIBR does not down properly. I have put sleep time 10 minutes and I also wait 5 hours to check is it down or not but After 5 hours the process still running. To down the process I have to execute kill -9 <process id>.
Please see the below Diagnostic message or Shutdown concurrent manger.
No concurrent manager is defined to process this request, so it cannot be processed.
Contact your system administrator to define a concurrent manager to process this request or to verify that existing concurrent managers have the correct specialization rules.
This request may have to wait on one or more of the following requests to complete before it can begin execution:
    Application Version - 12.0.6
    OS - Redhat Linux (x86)
    Thanks

    Hi,
No concurrent manager is defined to process this request, so it cannot be processed. See if (Note: 342932.1 - No Concurrent Manager is Defined to Process This Request on Shutdown of Managers) helps.

  • Con. Req. 'Receiving Transaction Manager' Inactive/No Manager : This request is an unconstrained request. (queue_method_code = I) , No concurrent manager is defined to process this request, so it cannot be processed.

    Hi Gurus,
I need your help on a concurrent request ( Receiving Transaction Manager ) showing as Inactive/No Manager.
    EBS: R12.1.2 on Linux
Database: 11.2.0.3 on HP UX Itanium
A user is submitting the concurrent request - "Receiving Transaction Manager" (It is a concurrent program not a concurrent manager).  The request ends up as Inactive/No Manager. When I click on the diagnostics button this is what it shows -
"No concurrent manager is defined to process this request, so it cannot be processed.
Contact your system administrator to define a concurrent manager to process this request or to verify that existing concurrent managers have the correct specialization rules."
I ran analyzereq.sql and the analysis is
    Analysis:
Request 1427025 is in phase "Pending" with status " Normal".
                               (phase_code = P)   (status_code = I)
This request is an unconstrained request. (queue_method_code = I)
It is in a "Pending/Normal" status, ready
to be run by the next available manager.
Checking managers available to run this request...
There is no manager defined that can run this request
This should show on the form as Inactive/No Manager
Check the specialization rules for each
manager to make sure they are defined correctly.
    Additional information (from apps.FND_CONC.DIAGNOSE):
No concurrent manager is defined to process this request, so it cannot be processed.
Contact your system administrator to define a concurrent manager to process this  request or to verify that existing concurrent managers have the correct specialization rules.
I ran another SQL to find out which manager runs the program :
    select CONTROLLING_MANAGER,request_id
    from fnd_concurrent_requests
    where request_id=1427025;
It returned blank (or) NULL for controlling Manager.
    select b.USER_CONCURRENT_QUEUE_NAME from fnd_concurrent_processes a,
    fnd_concurrent_queues_vl b, fnd_concurrent_requests c
    where  a.CONCURRENT_QUEUE_ID = b.CONCURRENT_QUEUE_ID
    and    a.CONCURRENT_PROCESS_ID = c.controlling_manager
    and    c.request_id = 1427025;
    Returned Nothing.
I thought that for a concurrent program when no specific manager is defined, Standard Manager is the default. Is my understanding wrong ?? Have anyone of you faced this issue? How did you fix it ?
I did check the profile - Concurrent: Conflict Domain for the responsibility and it is blank.
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Cherrish Vaidiyan

Was this working before? If yes, any changes been done recently?
Your understanding is correct, unless this concurrent program is excluded from being processed by standard manager.
If the request was not processed then the no rows output is an expected behavior -- (Doc ID 344011.1)
Have you tried the solution in (Doc ID 1303315.1)?
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Issue when opening a report from concurrent manager

    Hi all,
Our EBS instance worked well and stable. But two days ago, we met a strange issue as below description:
When user clicks "View Output" or "View log" from concurrent manager, they see the error in the pop-up: "Authentication failed" or "File server could not identify source file". The link in the pop-up is in "http://hostname/OA_CGI/FNDWRR.exe?temp_id=<number>" format.
After some attempts to refresh this pop-up page or close pop-up - re-click "View output" our user can see the correct output as normal. Sometimes, they click view output once and get the correct output immediately. The messages we've got is not same during these attempts, it could be authentication failed or "File server could not identify source file" randomly.
We've tried to find the solutions from metalink and from some threads in this forum but nothing can help. It's our production system.
Hope to see the solution from you
Our environment: Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 on RHEL 4.6 32bit, Database Oracle 10.2.0.4 on RHEL 4.6 64bit

When user clicks "View Output" or "View log" from concurrent manager, they see the error in the pop-up: "Authentication failed" or "File server could not identify source file". The link in the pop-up is in "http://hostname/OA_CGI/FNDWRR.exe?temp_id=<number>" format.
Have you checked "File Server Could Not Identify Source File [ID 1073863.1]"?

Can you find any errors in the CM/Database/OS log files?
Can you confirm that the concurrent requests output/log files have been generated successfully at the OS level? Does this issue happen with all concurrent requests or specific ones only?
We've tried to find the solutions from metalink and from some threads in this forum but nothing can help. What solutions have you tried?
    Did you run AutoConfig?

  • Concurrent Manager not processing the requests

    Dear friends,
We are facing a serious issue with our production instance since morning.
The concurrent managers are not processing the requests. As its month closing, a lot of requests are being piled up in the Standard Manager's queue.
The Standard Manager is up. We have verified that by the processes at OS and Concurrent Manager Administer form as well.
The Conc Manager Admin form shows:
    Actual process: 50
    Target Process 50:
    Running Requests: 50
    Pending Requests: 304
However, when we check from Concurrent Requests form by selecting Status=Normal, Phase=Running, its showing only 6 requests as running and rest all in pending phase.
These requests are running for long and no other requests seem to being picked up by the CM.
an urgent help is required as its production environment and all the users are complaining.
    Thanks.

Its R12.1.1 Apps with 11.1.0.7 DB
We have found the issue. In the Concurrent Manager Administer form, when we clicked on the Requests Button, it shows a lot of the following requests:
    Check Event Alert - ALECTC
This request is not shown in Concurrent Requests form.
We found that the Alert mails were not being sent. At OS level, we found 50 ALECTC OS processes were running.
We killed those and immediately Standard Manager started picking up the pending requests.
I am not yet sure of ALECTC processes. Can someone explain ???
    Thanks.

  • Configuring the UWL Manage Substitution Rules

    Hi,
I have a need to be able to add at least one more additional columns/fields to the ‘Manage Substitute Rules/My Substitute Rules’, ‘Search For People/Current Selection’ and the General Data screens of the UWL Manage Substitutions Rules.
Is this a configurable feature/option in that can I add extra fields to the different fields?
The reason for this requirement is that my current client is implementing SAP’s Concurrent Employment in their ECC 6 and SRM 5.0 systems. This decision is causing all sorts of challenges.
If a person wants to define a substitute in the UWL, when they select the ‘Search For People’, we want to display an additional column that displays the position/job description for each person within the organization. This would make it easier to select the correct instance of a person if that person had multiple display entries in the selection list. For example if the system returns Joe Cole – Soccer Player; Joe Cole – Librarian and Joe Cole – Accountant and the person wanted to select Joe Cole – Librarian, they would have the required information to make the selection.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

    hi Walker
you can try to this option also
configure printer at operating system level will avoid this error as i too face the same issue whenever i do fresh installation, concurrent mgr will be working fine but report goes to inactive nomanager phase
a)configure printer at operating system level
b)restart concurrent manager service from service panel

  • Dedicated Concurrent Manager

Can we have a Parent Request and Child Request run under different Concurrent Managers.
If yes then how can we configure this to run for different Concurrent Managers.
I created two Concurrent Managers and have set all the normal rules so that Parent and Child run under different concurrent managers.
But when i run the Parent , child still goes under the same manager from where parent is running.
But when we submit the Child independently , then it goes under correct Manager.
Any help is appreciated in this regard.
    Thanks,
    sunil

    Sunil,
Did you try to exclude your child program from the concurrent manager which processes the parent program?

In the document 294932.1 Section 4 there are no pre-installation patches or update for OS RedHat LinuxAS4.
When I type echo $LD_ASSUME_KERNEL it doesn't display any value so do I need to set the LD_Assume_Kernal value manually.
If yes, please let me know the path and command to set the kernel value.
    Thanks
