ConcurrentModificationException when using jcifs.smb.SmbSession.logon

We recently migrated our intranet from Apache to the WAS 640 environment (SP14).  We are getting the following intermittent error when users initially navigate to the intranet:

If the user presses refresh or navigates to the url again, the problem disappears.  It happens to one particular user every morning, the first time he tries to open the intranet.  Other user's it only happens to every once in a while.  Has anyone experienced this error before and if so, is there a fix for it?

The error "jcifs.smb.SmbException: Connection refused: connect" is the root cause here, looks like for some reason your jcifs client can't connect to the server and that is causing the app server to show an 500 internal server error message.

  • Error when using Application Designer to logon

    Good day experts,
I have just installed PeopleSoft 8.51 on the server, and have just configured the PSADMIN. When I tried to logon using Application Designer in 3-tier mode, I got an error as follows
"An error occurred on the application server within Tuxedo while returning the service GetCertificate. Cancel the current operation and retry. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator"
I have retraced my steps and it was installed as per the installation guide, and I cannot find any cases that address this issue.
Can someone shine some lights on this error?
Thank you very much in advance. Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Mark

I have solved this issue. What's happened was that I was using Oracle Tuxedo 11gR1 which is not supported by PT8.51. Uninstalled 11gR1 and installed 10gR3, and everything is working fine now.

  • Use Windows Account to logon to WAS (ICM) ...

    Hi All !
is it possible to use a windows Domain Account to logon to WAS Applications ( BSP or Webdypro in ICM ) ?
possible with Kerberos or Certificates ?
    How to implement ?
    need help !
    Thanks
    Oliver

    Wolfgang,
Yes, I hope that Oliver finds this chat/info useful, and not too confusing.
I am sorry, but the question asked in this post was related to using the Windows Account to logon to WAS. For me that means something like :
    1. The user is currently logging onto Windows using an account, and is authenticating with Active Directory using this account. e.g. via password or smart card, two-factor token etc.
    2. The user wants to use this same Windows account to logon to WAS ABAP. This implies the same authentication method used to logon to Windows (e.g. password, smart card, two-factor token etc.) should be used to logon to SAP WAS. This relates to the question being asked by Oliver.
So, if we first consider x.509. How are you proposing that the user authenticates using their certificate, and determines their Windows account from this certificate when they  log onto SAP ? The Active Directory approach is to use PKINIT (a Kerberos pre authentication mechanism) to determine the Windows account name from the certificate based authentication, so SAP WAS would have to use PKINIT and/or share the same certificate that Active Directory uses for this to be possible. I am not aware of a method of making this work with SAP software, and if it is possible, it certainly would not be easy. Also, I am not convinced this gives Oliver what he is asking for. The only method I am aware of is to use client certificates to authenticate to SAP, and these certificates would normally be issued by SAP or via an external CA which is trusted by SAP. When using this method to logon to SAP there is no way to relate the certificate to the account name the user is aware of in Windows since the certificate authentication used by SAP is completely separate from the Windows account authentication. Hence, I would say that x.509 cannot be used to meet Olivers requirements.
Regarding SPNEGO. There was no question asked about SPNEGO - you introduced this technical term in your response, and I answered the question referring to Kerberos since this is what Oliver asked about. Also, this is not supposed to be a discussion about standards, it is a discussion about the methods available to logon to SAP WAS using a Windows account. This is the question I have answered.
I didn't say that the ABAP systems supported SPNEGO. I simply explained how it is possible to use Kerberos to authenticate to ABAP apps, either via Integrated Windows Authentication or via a logon screen that asks for Active Directory account name and password. This answers the question from Oliver clearly and without confusing him with technology - basically, what he wants to do is possible, very easy and quite commonly implemented by SAP customers, so surely these things are more important than introducing technology and standards in to the discussion when they are not relavent, and certainly better than giving the impression that x.509 is the way to go !
I don't want this post/discussion to be taken the wrong way. I wanted to make sure that Oliver gets the answer he asked for, and when you responded implying that x.509 was the best option and Kerberos was not possible I felt I had to correct you on this, in the context of the question being asked and my knowledge of the solutions available on the market to address the requirements that Oliver has asked about.

    Tim

  • How to use jcifs to access SMB share via webdynpro app ?

  • Crystal 2011 getting Logon failed IM004 error when using ODBC (RDO)

I just installed Crystal Reports 2011 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.  Sporadically, but way too often (I would estimate about 60% of the time), when I go to set up an ODBC (RDO) connection or refresh an existing report and enter the password, I get the following error:
    Logon failed.
Details: IM004:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_Handle_ENV failed
Other times, it just works, with no changed made.  It seems to work slightly more often when using the SQL Server driver (the one for SQL 2000) as opposed to the SQL Native Client or SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drivers.  But not often enough for that to be the solution.
I have tested this with a locally installed SQL Server (on the same machine as Crystal Reports) and remote SQL Servers, with SQL 2000, 2005 and 2008.  Same results.
I have Crystal Reports 2008 installed on the same machine and have not once had this problem.  I have tried using the same ODBC connections I already had from Crystal 2008 with Crystal 2011 and also to create new ones, same results either way.
Is this a known issue, or is there a switch/setting I need to change to make this work consistently?  I am especially puzzled by the fact that it seems random, I have not been able to find any pattern at all.

    Hi Victoria,
MS SQL Server 2008 has a client install now, the MDAC/WDAC doesn't install it as MS used to do with all of their OS's. CR also had to update the use of SQL Server 2008 to include the SQLNCLI10 client engine.
I suggest, if you have not already, install the Native 10 client from either the SQL Server CD or you can download the MSI from MS's site and only use the Native 10 driver.
MS kind of dropped ODBC and moved to OLE DB. The native client actually uses the OLE DB driver so using ODBC just puts another layer on top of OLE DB anyways. It's more convenient to use ODBC for deploying applications but it can affect performance.
Anyways, as noted, CR 2011 is still in Ramp up mode so this issue may have been tracked. If not though you can purchase a support case, if it's a bug then you'll get a refund, if it's a limitation in MS then no refund.
    There is [SP 1 for CR 2011|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007683092011E/cr2011sp1.exe] - http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
Seems to be a problem with that page right now so try again later... and apply SP 1 or wait until it goes GA and test again. If it's still an issue then you can log a case.
Firefox just got updated and it's failing, IE works though...
    Thanks again
    Don

    Any suggestions?
    Kind regards,
    Christof

The installation of BPC server was done with a domain user or with a local user?
Your windows user is a domain user or a local user?
I'm asking because it is strange that Windows authentication is not working. It can be or bvecause Windows user is not the same with BPC user. (you can have the same name for user but actually one is local the other one is domain which means different users).
Also I tsuggest to check into application server of test and prod environment f osoft virtual directory has enable Windows Authentication.

  • I have a Finger Print Reader on my Laptop and when I go to a logon screen it says this is not a logon screen and will not allow me to use my Finger Print Reader to logon. When I use IE it works fine.

I have a Finger Print Reader on my Laptop and when I go to a logon screen it says this not a logon screen and will not allow me to use my Finger Print Reader to logon. When I use IE it works fine. Can u please help me with this its the only negative I fined with Firefox everything else is AWESOME!! Thanks, Anthony

The driver I have is the most recent version. This is a Firefox problem....fix it!
It works perfectly on Internet Explorer and worked on Firefox before the last update so it's your problem.

  • How do I use an SMB to store my videos?

SUNY Downstate wants to move the videos in iTunes U to an SMB machine, how would we change the iTunes U .XML files to reflect it? TIA

If you want to delete content from iTunes and keep it on the iPod you need to change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". Your iPod will not sync with iTunes in this mode so it can have different content, you can get details here:
    Managing content manually on iPod
    iPod 101: Fill 'er Up
One major word of caution. If you delete songs or videos from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up anything you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD: How to back up your media in iTunes
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • How to add image in virtual dir / i/ 11g when using the embedded gateway

    Hi,
Does somebody knows how to 'simple' import a file or directory
into the /images/ or /i/ directory created by APEX without tricks like in How I added a  new image to APEX in 11g when using the embedded gateway.
when using Database 11g with the embedded gateway. with webdav of ftp.
When I use the url http://localhost/images
    I need to logon.
There is not 1 username/password that I can use. I tried all.
When I try http://localhost/i/16admin.gif then the gif is shown.
I must be something with ACL's or DBMS_EPG or maybe the default port 80 that I use?

    Hi Jules,
You need a user with XDBADMIN rights to access the WebDav. Once you have access, you can open the URL as webfolder (in IE).

    Hello,
    I did what you told:
    - the mysql Jar version was already the  mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar (may be due to update SP2),
    - I changed to adobe-ds.xml file,
    - I tried to launch the workbench with -Xmx512m in the command line.
    Here is the result:
1- the launch of the workbench isa bit faster.
2- when I try to login with the administrator account, it takes a long while. Then I get an error: I can not logon to the livecycle ES server from the workbench. The message is "Authentication for user administrator on server ... failed, please retry".
In my log file, I get the following.
    eclipse.buildId=unknown
    java.version=1.5.0_12
    java.vendor=Sun Microsystems Inc.
    BootLoader constants: OS=win32, ARCH=x86, WS=win32, NL=fr_CH

I also got another error message - with another configuration when triying to launch the workbench with JRE 1.6.0.12 (I hoped for better performance when replacing the JRE folder) :

On the whole, I still get so errors and I can not logon.
Do you have any suggestion ?
Thank you for taking some time to reply.
What I am tried to do is to added a HelloComponent.jar fronm a tutorial:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/articles/dsc_development.html
My final  goal is to developp a ECM Connector.
    Thank you

  • When using working apple ID keep getting message cookies are disabled but they are enabled for visited and also tried always

I gave an ipod touch 4 to my youngest son for his birthday.
Installed iTunes and updated firmware to 4.3.5 (8L1); all OK
Created Apple ID and can logon to this using computer.
When using the working apple ID on the iPod however, keep getting message cookies are disabled. This after it directs to review the new accoutn info.
But cookies are enabled for 'visted'. Also tried 'always'
    Also tried hard reset.
Spent a whole day trying to get an apple dev working; still can't use any app.
Needless to say my son is very disappinted (and so am I) :-(
Is there any way to get this working, or should I simply ask for a refund?

Head to Settings -> Safari and tap Clear History, Clear Cookies, and Clear Cache and see if that does any good.
What happens when you rewiew the account info?  Do you verify the provided information?

See my other reply concerning "user must change password" and the chicken & egg problem.
In addition when using the LDAP Fast Bind control, it is only used to authenticate a user (verify credentials).
If the user has the "user must change password" setting enabled, then the LDAP Fast Bind Connection Control will always fail the authentication attempt.
Furthermore, the LDAP Fast Bind control does not create a Windows token, and even of the user had successfully authenticated, it does not permit the user to perform other operations againts the directory such as modify attribute values or change passwords.
You must perform a full LDAP bind in order to allow a user to change their password or to modify other attribute values.

  • JDBC Connection Reset when using many processes on 64 bit system

    Hi,
we've a annoying JDBC connection problem since we migrated our Java server to a 64 bit operating system. Here our environment.
    Database Machine:
    Oracle 10g
Linux 32 Bit (but same problem on 64 Bit)
    Application Servers Machine:
    JDBC driver 11.1.0.6
    SUN Java 1.6.0_06 64bit
    Linux 64 bit (SLES 10 SP2)
We have 6 different Java server processes (but with the same code) which all create some connections to the same database (running on a different Hardware). All 6 Java server processes starting at the same time (via scripts).
Everything was fine, until we migrated the application server machine from 32 bit Linux to 64 bit Linux. From this day on, the half (or one more or less) of our application server processes can't longer connect to the database. The application server processes which have the problem product the following stack trace:

It looks like a network problem with the system but all other network stuff works without problems, between the two machines.
    - We use the thin JDBC driver (no OCI)
    - No firewalls are active on both systems
    - Both systems are in the same subnet connected to the same switch
    - The DNS configuration on both systems are ok (forward and reverse)
    - We've found the same problem on different application-server/database-server pairs with 64 bit application server hardware - but not all of our 64 bit server systems have this problem.
    - When running application server process and database on the same system (connecting via localhost) the problem does not longer appear.
    - The same database machine connected from a 32 bit application server (with 6 different java processes starting at the same time) works without a problem.
We've tried a lot of things to isolate the problem - but with no success.
    - Same problem with SUN Java 1.6.0_06 32 bit (on 64 bit Linux)
    - Same problem with SUN Java 1.6.0_15 (32 and 64 bit)
    - Played with some JDBC connection properties (oracle.jdbc.TcpNoDelay, oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout, oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT, oracle.net.disableOob, oracle.jdbc.RetainV9LongBindBehavior, oracle.jdbc.StreamChunkSize) without a positive result.
    - We've updated Linux network driver
    - We've changed to an completeky other NIC
    - We've tried an other Linux 64 distribution
    - We've increased the PROCESSES parameter in the init.ora
    - We've tried the JDBC driver 11.1.0.6
    - We've tried the _g version of the JDBC driver, but the debugging output simply tell us "Connection Reset" without a hint why.
    - We've tried a more complex JDBC connect string (
    "jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=" +
    "(ADDRESS_LIST=" +
    "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)" +
    "(HOST=host)" + =
    "(PORT=port)" +
    ")" +
    ")" +
    "(CONNECT_DATA=" +
    "(SERVICE_NAME=sid)" +
    "(SERVER=DEDICATED)" +
    ")" +
Nothing of this things helped us to isolate the problem.
When we start our application server processes with a long pause (>1 min) between every process start. The problem does not occure. When we start only one application server with the same number of connections as the 6 different application server processes, everything works fine.
We have absolute no idea why
    - this only occures on 64 bit Linux
    - independent if it's a 32 bit or 64 bit JVM
    - does not occure on all 64 bit application server machines / database machine pairs
    - never occure on the same 64 bit app server hardware when using a 32 bit Linux
    - using the Oracle JDBC 10g driver (10.xxx) there is no problem (but because of other issues, we need to use the JDBC 11g driver)
Does anybody has an idea what our problem is?
    Thanks in advance,
    greetings

I was recently struggling with this exact same problem. I opened a ticket with Oracle and this is what they told me.
java.security.SecureRandom is a standard API provided by sun. Among various methods offered by this class void
    nextBytes(byte[])
is one. This method is used for generating random bytes. Oracle 11g JDBC drivers use this API to generate random number during
login. Users using Linux have been encountering SQLException("Io exception: Connection
    reset").
    The problem is two fold
    1. The JVM tries to list all the files in the /tmp (or alternate tmp directory set by -Djava.io.tmpdir) when
SecureRandom.nextBytes(byte[]) is invoked. If the number of files is large the
    method takes a long time
to respond and hence cause the server to timeout
    2. The method void nextBytes(byte[]) uses /dev/random on Linux and on some machines which lack the random
number generating hardware the operation slows down to the extent of bringing the whole login process to
a halt. Ultimately the the user encounters SQLException("Io exception:
    Connection reset")
Users upgrading to 11g can encounter this issue if the underlying OS is Linux which is running on a faulty hardware.
    Cause
The cause of this has not yet been determined exactly. It could either be a problem in
    your hardware or the fact
that for some reason the software cannot read from dev/random
    Solution
Change the setup for your application, so you add the next parameter to the java command:
    -Djava.security.egd=file:/dev/../dev/urandom
We made this change in our java.security file and it has gotten rid of the error.
