Conditional formatting on total cells in pivot table

Hi, i have a pivot table with some values and percentages.
The percentages are in red if less then 0.
I have 1 row and 1 column of total values, but this cell aren't red if percentage is less then 0.
Does anybody know a solution for my problem?
Thanks

This is the example i create:
DIM A:
- Total A
- Value A
DIM B:
- Total B
- Value B
FACT:
- Value A (DIM A)
- Value B (DIM B)
- Actual
- LY
- Delta % (Calculated: 100*(Actual - LY)/LY)
Then i create the pivot table with B on rows (Σ on Total B), A on cols (Σ on Total A) and measures Actual, LY and Delta %. The last one has a conditional format on Delta % < 0.
This is the xml that i have:

    For measure1;
I want to make "dif" green if year1 is < 100 and want to make "dif" red if year2 = 100 and etc...
Is it possible, I tried but could not achive conditional formatting when I use different column then dif...

  • Oracle BI EE (10.1.3.2): Maximum total number of cells in Pivot Table excee

I'm trying to build a pivot table report from about source 1.3M rows.
When I'm setting CubeMaxPopulatedCells to a small values (10'000 and less) I'm getting error:
"Governor limit exceeded in cube generation (Maximum number of populated cells exceeded.)"
Increasing of this parameter to 100'000 and more (I've tried up to 10'000'000) causes another error:
"Maximum total number of cells in Pivot Table exceeded (Configured Limit: 200000). Try moving one or more attributes to the page axis."
Is it possible to solve this problem?

In the instanceconfig.xml add a <PivotView> element under <ServerInstance> if one does not exist already. Within the <PivotView> element add an entry that looks like:
    <MaxCells>nnnnnn</MaxCells>
where nnnnnn is your desired limit for the maximum total number of cells allowed in a pivot. Warning: an excessively large number will cause more memory consumption and slower browser performance.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.? I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not cell content.

Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.?
I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not the content, of the target cell(s).

    Hi Tom,
Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).
Please explain what you are trying to do.

    Ian.

  • Conditional format of one cell based on contents of another cell

Preparing list of appointments for visitors with time for each. There are four possible status categories for visitors based on projected activity and whether they have shown up or not. (A Group Scheduled, A Group Showed, B Group Scheduled, B Group Showed). I've created the calendar in iCal with different calendars, then accessed that through Bento iCal Events. Bento adds the column with name of calendar from iCal. Info is now in Numbers. (iWorks 09)
It shows Title, Start Date, Location, Calendar. I'm adding more fields using Lookup in Numbers drawing on entire data base brought over from Bento. I'm trying to get what info I need, but none that I don't, so the form isn't too crowded and busy.
I would like to be able to conditionally format the Time column based on the contents of the Calendar column. If successful, the color of the Time column would tell me all I need to know about visitor status, and I could hide the Calendar column and clean up the form.
I hope I've described it adequately. Can this be done, and if so, how?
    Thanks! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Does it work to format two cells based on contents of one of them?
Conditional formatting of a cell depends on the contents of that individual cell, compared with another value, so no.
But you could use a two-table approach.
In general terms, the technique is to:
    • make the original table's cell fill transparent,
    • Add a second table to the sheet,
    • Set the second table to copy the control values into a column of cells,
    • Select the cells in that column of Table 2,
    • Apply conditional formatting rules for each possible control value (see below)
    • Set the text opacity for these cells to 0 (full transparency),
    • Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then use (shift and) the arrow keys to slide Table 2 behind Table 1 to align the highlighted cells with the cells to appear highlighted in Table 1.
    • Set the colour of the cell borders on table 2 to none.
Using the information you gave regarding the calendar column, you'll need four rules for conditional formatting of this column. All are of the same format:
    Text contains: A Group Scheduled
With the text changed to match each possible entry.
    Regards,
    Barry
BTW: by changing the width of the formatted column on table 2, you can appear to highlight as many columns as you wish on Table 1.

  • Entire row conditional formatting based on cell value

What is the best way to apply conditional formatting to an entire row based on the value of one of the columns on that row? For example, I just want to highlight the entire row (make it red color) if the value of one of the columns is greater than 0. The method described in the past discussions is just way to difficult to apply in real life scenarios. I think it should work without any tricks as it's just a very basic functionality of spreadsheets.

The other idea is to make a second table, which has a single column and is as wide as the first table.  This second table will reference the value in the first table which indicates how to shade and is formatted with conditional formatting.  The second table is slid behind the first, AND the first is made transparent.
    - Bottom table refers to original (top) table
bottom table contains conditional formatting as:
Now make the original table transparent by selecting the table and changing the background fill to none.
Now send the second table to the back by selecting the table then the menu item "Arrange > Send to Back"
Now slide the second table under the original

  • How to Display a Detailed Grand Total Column in Pivot Table

I have a pivot table that looks something like this:
I would like to display the 'Grand Total' column at the end so that it is separated by year, like this:
Is there a pivot table setting that would allow it to display this way? I've searched high and low but haven't found anything. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

You can add a calculated item to the pivot table to display grand totals by year:
    1.  First, turn off grand totals for rows and columns (PIVOTTABLE TOOLS > DESIGN tab > Layout group > Grand Totals > Off for Rows and Columns)
    2.  Click on the Price List (Invoice) field in the pivot table (hidden above the
Member field?).  You must click on the pivot table cell containing the field name for the entries "Member" and "Non-Member".
    3.  Add the calculated item (PIVOTTABLE TOOLS > ANALYZE tab > Calculations group > Fields, Items & Sets > Calculated item...
    4.  In the "Name:" box, type: Grand Totals
    5.  In the "Formula:" box, type: = Member + 'Non-Member'
    6.  Click the "Add" button, and then click "OK"

  • End total in a pivot table

    Hi,
Is it possible (in Oracle BI 10g !) to split up the total line of a pivot table ?
In the attached example there is only 1 line for the end total and that's the total for 2013 and 2014 together.
I would like to have 2 lines in the total :
    - 1 line with the total of 2013
    - 1 line with the total of 2014
I know there are some work-around solutions such as putting the year in the column part but that can't be used because :
    - we will have more columns as result
    - the end user really would like to see 2014 below 2013 and NOT next to each other.
Thanks for any help or suggestion

    Hi,
A pivot table view of this data would look something like this by default:
Now switch back to the criteria tab and edit the ‘column properties’ associated with your fact measure. Choose the ‘Data Format’ tab, tick to override the default format and choose ‘Custom’.
It seems that the syntax for this custom format is positive-value-mask (semi colon) negative-value-mask (semi colon) null-mask. So this means we have a few options.
E.g. if you want zeros (0) instead of null then enter:
    *#,##0;-#,##0;0*
If you want a dash/strike (-) then you could enter:
    #,##0;-#,##0;-
Or if you want to add a custom message then something like this would work:
    #,##0;-#,##0;no data

if it's not working above method use BIN in report

  • Conditional Formatting in one cell with a dates in another cell

I have a simple spreadsheet that will gauge a project's progress.  I wish to have individual cells change color based on another cell.  I can't get the right syntax in order - groan
    E2 has today's date, =NOW()
G2 (not started) would change from a color to no color when the start date, F27,  has arrived then
H2 (started) would change to a color when the date is met, F27, (may be change color as the completed date arrives) then no color when the completed date arrives, F28.
I2 (completed) would change to a color when the date is met, F28
When the spread sheet is opened or if I need to change the dates in either of the cells the cells with color gauges will update.
I am using conditional formating through the ribbon.
    Please help!

  • Conditional formating if the cell contains any date

    Hi,
In my excel sheet i have one column containing only date (US format) or else they are blank. I want to format the cells containing date to Red color. How do i do it
    Please help

If you mean the font colour, just format the cells to have red font.
So I guess you mean interior colour.
You haven't said which version of Excel - it always helps.
For Excel 2003, for example, select the cells then
Format > Conditional Formatting > Cell Value Is > Greater Than: 0 > Format > Patterns > Red
For Excel 2007 or 2010, Home > Conditional Formatting > Highlight Cells Rules  > Greater Than > 0 with Light red fill

  • Average of the Grand Total in the Pivot Table

    all,
I have calculated a Grand Total of sum 3 days trade in the pivot table using the Totals after in the Pivot table. I wanted to obtain the average of this Grand total. How can i achecive this in OBIEE 10g.? Please help urgent

I did not understand your scenario exactly. Did you try using the 'newly calculated column' option from 'More options' of the particular column for which you want the average?.
    for example
    segment brand 1 value
    brand 2 value
    brand 3 value
    brand 4 value
    Avg brand per segment <value>
notice that the 'Avg brand per segment' is a 'newly calculated item' where the average brand has been calculated. hope this helps.

thanks in advance for any hints.Try this:
    1) Grab another instance of your headcount column in your Criteria.
    2) Click on the fx and enter SUM(table.headcount by table.Region, table.country)
    3) Put this column after the Region column (if you have a duplicate layer in your Rows Section. If Region is in the Sections area of the pivot table, then this column should be farthest left).
    4) Sort this column and hide it.
