Conditional Mapping with script using BlOCKPROC to access the HFM API

Hello,
following problem. During the mapping/validation I need to map certain custom1 members to None if the Top Member is None and let it be if not None. This allocation depends on the account. Reading through the documentation I stumbled across conditional mapping.
So in the Custom1 map type Like I defined following:
Rule Name: C1_Script
Rule Definition: CXXX*
TargetCustom1: #Script
In the script I try to achieve to get the Custom1 Top member for the account! The HFM API offers this function(fGetCustomTopMember) and with varValue(14) I get my TargetAccount. So everything I need seems to be there.
Only problem is I need to use the BlOCKPROC to access the HFM API provided through the adapter, but either way won't work.
Trying "Set API.IntBlockMgr.IntegrationMgr.PobjIntegrate = BlOCKPROC.ActConnect("LookUP")" throws an object required error.

Dim BLOCKPROC
Set BLOCKPROC = CreateObject("upsWBlockProcessorDM.clsBlockProcessor")
BLOCKPROC.Initialize API, SCRIPTENG
throws me a type mismatch for "BLOCKPROC.Initialize".
I am kinda at my wits end. Any help/clue is much appreciated.

Have you tried contacting that web site's support department for help with that issue? <br />
If that web site can't find the add-on it says is needed, they need to fix that problem with their servers.
Or you can try using IE Tab2 to run IE in a Firefox tab. <br />

Accessing the photoshop api from flash.. within a photoshop window?

I should maybe ask this in scripting.. but it's some ways related to the SDK. I dont want to crosspost.. if the feature exist, it's very likely that SDK developpers are aware of this (ps: i havent downloaded the sdk since the beta)
I had the opportunity to show a bit our project to Mike Downey from Adobe at FITC/Toronto as it's related in some way to Apollo. We use realbasic for this application (flash/html/css/javascript) and we also use Realbasic, even with all the imperfections the software has, to create visual tools to call some Applescript.
That's how i implemented the fake palette i mentionned here or in scripting forum. To me, there was a huge benefit compared to implementing a dialog with the SDK (wich doesnt support developping a palette anyway).
What i would be really happy to see is an integration like it has been done with jsfl in flash (extensibility). Kind of a way for us to really have a common language for intranet, production tools and final release (web or cd). (leverage the skills like Adobe say to sell Apollo)
So in extensibility in case some of you are not aware of the feature, you can create a window that has a flash content in it and there is a mecanism to call the javascript api of flash (authoring environnement). By exemple, you can have a window in flash authoring environnement that behave like other windows (ie. dockable and all)... that has a flash interface and communicated with a database.. so you can have a script that connect to a database and then create shapes in the authoring environnement... It's a very great tool for integrated production environnement..
So, Mike Downey mentionned to me that i was present in CS3!? (when i told him that i would have been great to have Apollo/Flash being able to access the Photoshop Api) Is it true? Where is it documented? I remember seing it mentioned in the SDK survey... Or maybe it's just possible to do it via external command..so it's not integrated in a window of photoshop)?
Sorry if it's not clear... but i would be really happy to hear more about that... It would be great to have this even if it's not Applescript compatible (i could use xml tools in the api of flash)...

Well.. i finally have found the feature in the sample folder of javascript scripting of cs3. You really can have a flash interface to call you scripts.
That will be a HUGE improvement for javascript scripter and i would not be surprised that it will encourage people to develop more tools.
The big minus for me, unless it's something i havent found yet, it looks like the dialog is only available from calling the script.. so the dialog is modal... really not as cool as Flash extensibility integration, but that's a start. :(

I still have hope for something more advanced... the "KnowHow" thing (wich i havent tried yet) http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/knowhow/) is really a good exemple of palette/feature integration that i wish was possible in photoshop...

This could come when the midlet is not signed and gets installed as untrusted application.
Try signing the midlet using verising java object signing class 3 RSA certificate. Do not use DSA cert as it is not supported by wtk.

I am unable to add hotmail account into my ipad 2. Hotmail says the problem is with apple since I can access the account in all other devices except my ipad. I need to get pass, "unable to verify my account information" Apple personnel appear helpless

I see you have resolved this problem but for anyone else trying to sort out their Hotmail account on their iPad try the following:
Try deleting your Hotmail account from your iPad/iPhone (making sure you can access your emails from your PC or other device as all your email history will also be deleted). Then under Settings go to 'Add an account' and click 'Other'(don't use the Hotmail heading). Fill in the required details for your Hotmail account and wait for account to be verified. This has just worked for me. Good luck!

Just like if you built this in the UI where you would have to configure the flat file operator and define a target data file name and possibly the location these properties should be set in scripting.
Set the property TARGET_DATA_FILE_NAME to the name of the data file.
Something like....
OMBALTER MAPPING 'M1' \
MODIFY FLAT_FILE OPERATOR 'NEW_FILE' SET PROPERTIES (TARGET_DATA_FILE_NAME) VALUES ('my_datafile.csv')

Sft soundfonts with multiple voices; can only access the default.

Does anyone have any idea how I can access anything but the first instrument in a sf2 soundfont in GB? My midi controller (m-audio 61-es) can't seem to do, When I use the standard procedure for changing voices, anything past the first voice gives me nada.
Any help would be much appreciated!

I believe the demo version will only allow you to access a few octaves of any particular soundfont. The full paid version will access all octaves of a soundfont set. As far as volume is concerned I do not believe that is a function of Soundfont Synth in any way. Volume changes are more than likely to be the individual characteristic of whatever soundfont set you have accessed. The quality of soundfont vary from really bad to really good.
With soundfont synth you can access a particular soundfont set and then make that instrument a new saved preset. Name it and it will appear in your instrument list.
Hopefully GB3 will have a feature that does what Soundfont Synth does.

I could solve the issue. PAN ist not working if my pre2 is connected to the internet with Wifi. My laptop can access the internit using PAN with the pre2 if the pre is using 2/3G and not wifi for the dataconnection

Thanks so much for addressing my question. Note that the site (www.xula.edu) was working with Safari this morning, but not this afternoon. I also have now been able to access it with Chrome (remember I could not access the site with Chrome initially). Essentially one time while the site was loading on Chrome I clicked another link on the site and opened a new tab for the link- the original page then loaded and now continues to load. I've been trying to do the same with Safari but the page loads and "goes to white" to quickly.
Other notes: I've powered off my iPad (did not help) and restarted my iPad (also did not help). I can also access all other links (to other www.xula.edu related pages on the site using Safari - I find them via a google search)- it's just the home page that loads then goes to "white screen" very quickly. Thanks again for your reply - any help/advice provided is greatly appreciated.

How can I retrieve/compute an X509 certificate's thumbprint in Python?

Is there a similar approach to do it in Python?

Problems with environments and transactional mode in the Python API

I have been having problems with the Python API, and I wonder if anyone can comment? I am using DB XML version 2.2.13, with python 2.3 (RedHat linux WS 4.0) and python 2.4 (SuSE 10.1) with identical results. I started with a simple example:

Segmentation faultA bit odd - I can't find anything in the docs about the required arguments to XmlManager.createContainer being different if an environment has been used explicitly.
Anyway, I persevered (my aim being to use transactional mode in Python). Changing the environment and container flags like so:
    envFlags = DB_CREATE | DB_INIT_LOCK | DB_INIT_LOG | DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_INIT_TXN | DB_PRIVATE
    conFlags = DB_CREATE | DB_EXCL | DBXML_TRANSACTIONAL | DB_NOMMAPThis change allowed the script to run, outputting the single classic line:
Segmentation fault(the C++ API docs at http://www.sleepycat.com/xmldocs/gsg_xml/cxx/transaction.html#initializetransaction are incorrect by the way - there is no flag DB_TRANSACTIONAL).
In spite of the segfault, the file "books.dbxml" was produced and could be queried by another application. A transaction log file "log.0000000001" was also written (10485760 bytes long).
Running this last example again with "python -v" showed that the segfault was being produced during the python's cleanup phase:

Segmentation faultCan anyone clarify what is going on? I had been hoping to deploy DB XML as an alternative to something more admin-heavy, but with this behaviour that would be hard to justify. A dirty exit from Python means that no-one will consider trusting their data to this engine (or am I doing something wrong?).

Your first failure -- invalid argument -- was due to an invalid combination of
flags to DBEnv.open(). Along with DB_CREATE you need at least DB_INIT_MPOOL.
As you can see, it worked once you added more flags.
The second, cleanup problem (segmentation fault) is the result of out of order
destruction of objects. This is fixed in the next release (later this year), but
you can work around it by ensuring that your XmlContainer and XmlManager
objects are deleted/cleaned up before the DBEnv object.
Python will cleanup in reverse order of creation, unless you perform explicit
deletions, which is also fine (e.g. del container, del myMgr).
Explicit deletion is always safe.

Using object tags is the correct way and only way to download the plugin and let the client decide whether he can download it r not. There is no way to install automatically
I dont think there is a way to install automatically without a user intervention coz, it can open the floodgates for potential hackers.
Can u cite an example about which programs can be installed automatically and why do u want the plugin to be installed automatically?

Accessing the Admin API via Linux (and hopefully Python)

I have been looking through the available documentation and past forum
entries but I see nothing really on point.
It is possible to have a complete GW system on Linux, from server to
client. So if it is possible to administer a GW system from Linux using
Console One, it should be possible to access the API from Linux.
Can anyone point me towards the appropriate documentaion? Thanks

All a matter of resources, Bob. They've had an admin api under
development for years, just didn't have time to make it ready for Bonsai.
You are correct, however you must have a win32 box (or try wine, but I
doubt that's worth it). One friend of mine then wrappered the whole
thing in a SOAP service, so he could mostly avoid thinking about windows.
