Conditional region display

I am trying to add what I think is a simple condition to a region display with no luck.
Trying to use the
Value of item in Expression 1 = Expression 2
with no luck.
I have a text item P312_TABLE_NAME with the value SERVER.
Yet, it does not display when the text item is SERVER
What am I doing wrong?
TIA

Hi TIA,
I had same issue and it was taking time. I tried your resolution. It worked pretty good. Thanks for posting your resolution to help others.

  • Best practice for conditional region display

I feel like I'm missing something here...
What's the easiest way to control display of a region only if the user has submitted that same page via a button?
For example, I only want to display a search results region if the user has entered search criteria and pressed a "Search" button.
Currently, I'm setting a hidden item value on page submission, and only displaying the region if the hidden item value = "SEARCH".
    Is there a better way?

After click the Search button (Item Name = SEARCH),
debug mode shows the following at the start of the SHOW:When you submit the page by clicking the button, the REQUEST will be set to the button name during accept procesing, not during the subsequent show processing (the request value for the latter can be passed in via the same-page branch you have defined)
To verify this, create a dummy after-submit PL/SQL process with NULL; and a Success Message of "Fired", make it conditional upon REQUEST=SEARCH and make sure your branch has the 'Show process success message' checkbox checked.
Now when you click the Search button, the page should re-display with the Fired success message.

  • Conditionally Hide/Display fields in a region

How can I conditionally hide/display fields in a region. Based on a user selection whether they want to 'Enter' or 'Select', I want to dispaly the appropriate field .i.e. if the user selects 'Enter' then I want to display a Text field and if they opt for 'Select', then I want to display a Select list.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Halil,
I've been trying to reproduce what the linked site does.
    Here's my solution:
1 - Add all items to the page whether or not they are going to be displayed
2 - Ensure that all items that could be shown/hidden are on lines on their own (ie, set New Line to Yes)
3 - In the region's Region Footer (or in a new HTML region in the Before Footer position), add in this bit of javascript:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    html_HideItemRow('NameOfFieldToHide');
-- repeat for each item to be hidden when the page first loads
    </script>
4 - On the radio button's definition, add the following in the HTML Form Element Attributes setting:
    onclick="html_ToggleItemRow('NameOfDisplayedItem');html_ToggleItemRow('NameOfHiddenItem');"
Now when the page is loaded, one field is automatically hidden then clicking any of the radio button options will toggle the hidden/displayed fields and their labels.
As stated before, if you do a View Source on the linked application's page, you will see either more methods that are used to show/hide items/regions, but the above should be a starting point for you.

  • Multiple pages vs conditional regions

What are opinions and suggestions about:
using several regions on a page, with a navigation list, and the regions only appear conditionally
    vs
    separate pages?
    Marion

For example, we have Files Load report. This page has 3 regions (hourly load summary, daily load summary and monthly load summary). There is a dropdown for the user to pick which region/report to display. If the user selects "Hourly", then Hourly Load Summary region is displayed. As you can see, these 3 regions display different summaries of the same report group called "File Load Summary". You can split this into 3 different pages, and each page can display one summary (i.e. first page to show hourly, second page to show daily, and the third one to show monthly load summary). This means you have to duplicate various validations and branches, which are pretty much going to remain the same across these 3 pages.
    Just my thought.

  • Can you create more region display points??

There are a number of region display ponts ie Page Template Region Position 1, Page Template Region Position 2.........> Page Template Region Position 8. Is it possible to create another ie Page Template Region Position 9 which is directly below 8??? If so.. how?? I am building a application and am using alot of conditional displays and i have run out of regions!
    thanks Roddy

    Hello,
No you can not create more region display points.
But each display point can have N number of regions in it and conditions are at a region level not a region display point level.

  • Conditional region - multiple conditions

    Hello,
I need to display a region only if 1) the page is in Printer Friendly mode AND 2) the value of a page item = 1. I tried using :P100_ITEM = 1 AND :PRINTER_FRIENDLY = 'YES', but that didn't work. Any ideas how to do this? Thanks.
    Lisa

    Hi Varad,
I'm sure your response is the correct answer, but I can't make it work. I've put an example here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=23292:8]. I'm probably missing one little piece somewhere. I put the different things I've tried (in addition to your suggestion) in the HTML region. The HTML region should be the conditional region. I can only get #1 (no conditions) and #4 v('PRINTER_FRIENDLY') = 'YES' to work. If you have a minute, would you take a look at the page and see if you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. It seems like the value in P8_ITEM is not being recognized. I appreciate your help.

  • (FM8p277) Crashes when saving first doc in book after changing conditional text display

    That was a mouthful :-)
Okay, this happens with any of the books that I work on --- it never happened with Frame 7.
I have a book containing several documents.
The documents contain several conditional text segments.
Start new Framemaker session, open book, open all documents.
Change conditional text display (from Show All to Show Selected, or vice-versa).
From the book, choose Save All (or from the *first* document, choose Save). The following text appears in a 'FrameMaker dialog': "File <filename of first document>.fm has changed on the disk since you last opened or saved it. Someone else has probably modified the file. Do you want to save it anyway?
Click OK. All of the files save properly. (If I had clicked Cancel, the first file would be skipped and all other files would save.)
Change conditional text display again (note: this could even be for a different book at this point, I believe, but will have to verify).
(Repeat step 3): The same text appears again in the dialog.
Click OK. FrameMaker crashes while trying to save the first file. (If I had clicked Cancel, the first file would be skipped and all other files would save. However, if I attempt to save the first file afterward, FrameMaker still crashes.)
Anybody have any insight into this? Am I the only one this happens to? Argh :-)
    Thanks.

Sorry, the only answers I got were on the forum and nothing worked
That being said, at least now I know I'm not crazy! (Sorry it had to
    happen to you, though.)
As it stands, I've been training myself to make sure that after the
first time I toggle the settings, I do the save, and then make sure to
save all, quit, and restart FrameMaker before I attempt another toggle.
On the odd occasion that I don't do that and get the warning message, I
select Cancel (which lets the rest of the files save), quit, restart,
and then make sure I update the first document appropriately.
All the while cursing and swearing, of course
As an aside... if you find a solution, please let me know about it if
    you remember.
    Thanks.

  • Default condition types displayed

    hi,
when i create a contract, i double click the item then go to conditions tab.  in there, are already displayed condition types based on the pricing procedure.
however, some conditions, i want to be automatically displayed(not manually added).
what are the parameters that control whether a condition type will be displayed automatically or not?
i am having some difficulty with this since in different systems i have exactly the same settings for pricing procedure, condition type, access sequence, requirements, condition record, customer master, material master, but in one system the condition is displayed automatically and in other system it is not.
    hope someone could help/give suggestions.
    thanks.

    Hi Rajesh,
    You got the point.
As per my understanding, The Tax rel classification is not there thats the reason the access is not triggering.
1st observe it that Tax rel classification coming from customer master or material master.
Then in the current order or billing document fill up Tax rel classification manually and try to update the pricing. I think it will get updated.
Then go to the master data, filled up the feild Tax rel classification.
So next time when you will create the order, it will flow from master record and record will determine in the order.
    Hope it helps,
Please try and revert back with your findings.

  • Placing buttons in a region displaying an Interactive Report

    Hi,
I have a page on which I am displaying an interactive report.I would like to place buttons on this region where the report is displayed-
    - The first button right of the search bar of the interactive report
    - The second button right of the first button.
    - The third (exactly ) below the second button (still right of the search bar)
I am aware that if this where an HTML region, then I would have had the flexibility to place the third button in a new line without a problem, but can I achieve this in a region displaying an interactive report?
Is there any way to do this?
    Regards,
    Priya Jetley

Create the buttons as region buttons in the IR region, with the following properties:
Button Position: Right of Interactive Report Search Bar
    Button Alignment: Left Right
Enter *style="display: block; float: right;"* in the Button Attributes of the third button.

Changed back as the slight glitch in FF2 is preferable to not working in FF3 and Safari

  • Conditional column display in report using column substitution string

    Hi everone,
I was wondering if it's possible to display a column conditionally, based on a values in another column of the same report.
Can you use the column substitution strings or does the condition strictly require SQL, PL/SQL
    or page item values?
    kind regards,
    Cleo

I dont think we can add a condition to display the column in a report based on the other column of the same report,
Just add a (CASE WHEN <your condition satisfies> THEN column ELSE null END) in your report source for the column you want to display conditionally.

  • Numbering of headlines with conditional regions

    Hi
Its my first post, so i want to apologize if some informations are missing.
I want to number headlines in MS WORD 2007 for a BI Publisher 11.1.5 report, which has some conditional regions included.
My problem is that invisible regoins also increment the number.
    e.g.:
    1.1 first headline
    1.2 second headline
    1.3 third headline
If I make the second headline/region invisible the output is:
    1.1 first headline
    1.3 third headline
If anyone can give me some advice on how to get the numbering right, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Norbert

Okay I solved this problem by creating XSL:FO variables and calculatedbefore the table of content.

  • Region Display Selector: Don't show the "show all" option

Is there a way to hide the "show all" option in the Region Display Selector ?
I want to have the user select 1 of several regions.

Does Someone know how do I use the new "Region Display Selector" Region Type in APEX 4.0... and where an I find any example ???

I have posted a non-solid solution on the following thread. Maybe it gets you started on solving the issue:

    Hi,

  • Region Display Selector - 2nd tab selected

    Hello
I have implemented the Region Display Selector plugin and modified my APEX 4.02 page so that the 2nd tab is selected on page load (i.e. not the Show All tab). The code I used to achieve this is:
$('div.apex-rds-container li:eq(1) a').click()this is done on page load.
This works fine when the page is run on its own - but the page in my application is part of a jquery accordion. When the page is part of the accordion, the 2nd tab gets selected, but I still get all regions displayed initially - clicking on each tab works so that I only get the single region displayed, but I need to have it so only one region is displayed initially (i.e. the region for the second tab which is highlighted).
Can anyone help with this issue please - or suggest other resources that may help.
    Many thanks
    Paul

I spoke to soon.... The reason the code appeared to working is because I had an alert in the on load code of the parent page:
    alert("wait");
    $("OTHER").load(function (){
       $('OTHER').contents().find('div.apex-rds-container li:eq(1) a').click();
});and I was waiting for the accordion to render before clicking ok to the alert. This was then giving me the desired result.
However, with the alert removed, all tabs are still displayed in the iframe page - so it like the code is firing before the accordion has rendered?
Any ideas on how to work-around this without the alert?
    Many thanks
    Paul
