Conectivity between existent SAP Systems and migrated system to MSCS Cluste

Hi
I have an existing SAP NW PI 7.0 (Abap + Java on Windows 2003 - SQLServer 2005) and plan to migrate to a cluster with new hardware (MSCS).
I have to prepare for the installation by creating a homogeneous copy of the database but I'm a little bit confused.
-Can I use backup/restore method or only can use import/export with R3load tools? The target system is windows and sql server same versions.
-If I can use backup/restore... what is the rigth sequence to the installation? Can I use sapinst with mixed high availability options and System copy options?
-I need to use in the target system the same hostname and IP address of the actual system, so in the Follow-Up Activities we do not change the configuration between the actual system (SAP NW PI) and other existent systems in the landscape... but I do not know what is the location in the cluster to this hostname and IP:
*The central instance will be in the local disks in the node 1. Is the node 1 the rigth option to use the hostname and IP of the actual system?
*The SAP Cluster group has a virtual hostname and IP, it has message and enqueu services. Is the sap cluster group he rigth option to use the hostname and IP of the actual system?
How is the communication between the other systemas and the new clustered system?
Thanks for your help

Can I use backup/restore method or only can use import/export with R3load tools? The target system is windows and sql server same versions.
You should follow the SAP guidlines in performing a homogeneous system copy.
I need to use in the target system the same hostname and IP address of the actual system, so in the Follow-Up Activities we do not change the configuration between the actual system (SAP NW PI) and other existent systems in the landscape... but I do not know what is the location in the cluster to this hostname and IP
This is not possible.  If you follow the SAP instructions for installing NW 7.0 in MSCS you will create two cluster groups: DBGroup and SAPGroup.  You will therefore have two virtual IP addresses, one for SAP cluster group and one for DB cluster group.  If you retain the current IP address/hostname for the virtual SAPGroup, you will need to follow the SAP guidelines for performing a SAP system copy to find where to change the database hostname/IP addresses to point to your new DBGroup.
The central instance will be in the local disks in the node 1. Is the node 1 the rigth option to use the hostname and IP of the actual system?
If you are meaning the ASCS then this should be installed on the disks that are part of the SAPGroup in the cluster.
If you mean the dialog instance (or the Central Instance of a Java stack) then this can be on a local disk for node 1, and not in the cluster.
The SAP Cluster group has a virtual hostname and IP, it has message and enqueu services. Is the sap cluster group he rigth option to use the hostname and IP of the actual system
Yes, this will be the message server host for ASCS.

  • Connection Between SAP GTS and Legacy systems

    Hi GTS Experts,
Could you please let me know how to connect between SAP GTS and Legacy systems.
This is for transfer of Customers, Vendors,Materials(Products in GTS),Transaction Data.
Could you please provide any documentation on this and is it PI team will do or functional guy.
    One more question:
Customer created a sales order with sold to and ship to(both contains same address) in legacy system.
Then it will be sent to SPL screening in GTS.
Now he will change ship to address and this should not be passed to SPL screening-- how to do this.
    Regards,
    Murali

    Hi Murali,
Apart from what Dave mentioned as above, although there is no such document available apart from SAP Standard content document but its something that is very standard to other modules as well.
Actually, you need to have a middle ware like SAP PI or any non SAP Product between SAP and Non SAP Legacy system. Also, mapping should be defined well in advance in this. Then it will also involve the EDI at the SAP GTS system end and Web skills( or applicale connection skills) at the Legacy system end to ensure appropriate mapping and interchange of realistic data.
Here, I would like to know if your legacy system had already some SAP system connected to it?.

  • Message flow between advanced adapter engine and messaging system for ICO scenarios

    Dear all,
I'm working on a PI 7.31 AEX box and created an ICO object for one interface with HTTP_AAE2IDoc scenario. The interface works quite well. When I looked in to message log of messages for this interface in PI monitor, I noticed that the internal XI message are put totally 5 times into the send queue and retrieved from send queue. In some steps I only see after retrieving a message from send queue and immediately put it back into send queue. Can someone please kindly explain the message flow between advanced adapter engine and messaging system and what exactly happens after each retrieving a message from send queue?

    Hello All,
Thanks for the prompt responses and with best information, But apart from this,I need how an adapter(File/JDBC) works along
with AAE in PI 7.1. When does the job of File/JDBC adapter is completed and resumed in a synchronous case. That is,
File Location --> file adapter -
    > XI(AAE) --> JDBC adapter --> database.
In file sender, lets suppose we have synchronous settings(Best Effort). Now when File adapter's job is finished and when it
gets back the response back from XI. Please explain step by step from starting(file adapter polling the location) to getting the response coming back to XI.
    Regards,
    Achari.

  • What's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD?

I can enter product(ect.ERP r/3) , components(ect.FI-CO module) to technical system , then enter technical system to busniess system  but ,who can explain  what's different between busniess system and technical system in SLD, exactly?
    THANKS!

Technical Systems are of following types:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
    1.)WEBas java,
    2.)Standalone JAVA
    3.)Third party
    4.)Web as ABAP
    1) Web AS Java
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
    2.)Standalone Java
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon
Web AS java belongs to the NetWeaver Comes with both ABAP and Java, Standalone instread comes separate from the netWeaver.
    3) Third party technical sytem
It can be any of the technical sytem. let us say if you want to send a file to R/3, here the file reside in your local system. for that you can define your local system as a third party technical system.
All those machines that comes under non sap, belongs to the third party.
4.) Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.
    Also refer : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/24/8fa93e08503614e10000000a114084/content.htm
Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.
Depending on the associated technical system, the following types of business systems are defined in the SLD:
    · Web AS ABAP
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP.
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP, can play the role either of an application system or an integration server. An integration server is the central component of XI, which provides a framework for the exchange of information among various internal and external entities of a company. The integration server facilitates the interaction between the different operating systems and applications across internal and external networks.
    · Web AS Java
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS Java.
    · Standalone
A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.
    · Third-party
A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.

  • Is there any dependency between third-party adapter and XI system service?

    Hi Friends,
I'm developing a thrid-party JCA adapter(deployed under sap.com) on SAP XI? In the adapter, it will use "ModuleProcessor" EJB system service.
I found sometimes if the JCA adapter cannot be started correctly, the other system service also not started. And checking the log, I found the reason the JCA adapter not started, is because the "ModuleProcessor" EJB system service is not started.
so just want to know is there any dependency between third-party adapter and XI system service?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jason

    Hi soo.richard,
You say it could be intruders cutting in - same problem/solution as for any network I think. Access can be password protected or access limited via MAC address filtering. I'm not sure how Apple Tv works with a hidden SSID but that would be another option.
Airplay itself can be password protected through the airplay settings.
I'm not sure if Apple TV works with other authentication such as a password but maybe the manual will assist with this?
    Hope this helps.

  • Time difference between the Identity system and Access System: OAM

I was installing OAM. Performed the below steps.
    -installed identity server
    -installed webpass
    -setup of identity system console
    -installed policy manager
    -setup of access system console
The above steps were successfull. Then when i was logging into Access system console, i am getting the below error:
Error:there was a problem obtaining the userid. One possible reason for this is a time difference between the Identity system and Access systems (Policy Manager and Access system console).+
The Identity Server, WebPass and Policy Manager are installed on the same machine.
    Userdata repository: OVD 10.1.4.3
Policy and Config Data Repository: OID 11.1.1.3
    OAM: 10.1.4.3
    Windows2008 - 64bit
Found document in metalink similar to this issue. suggested to change ldapmaxofreties. but didn't help.
Any idea on this error. Please Advise.
    Thanks in advance.

    Try this::
Check Time Difference Between Identity and Access Manager Systems
Check the logfile in the Access Manager install directory. The default location is <$AMinstall_dir>/access/oblix/logs/oblogfile.
If the file exists and it contains following line "skew = slack = " that means the Identity and Access Manager Web Servers are on different machines and have not synchronized time within a minute.
Either synchronize times between the two machines within a minute's accuracy or you can increase the slack by modifying these two files: <$AMinstall_dir>/access/oblix/apps/common/bin/oblixbaseparams.lst: loginslack: <$IMinstall_dir>/identity/oblix/apps/common/bin/oblixbaseparams.xml: loginslack: where numofseconds is more than skew found in the oblogfile.
For example, if you have following line in oblogfile "skew = 121 slack = 60", set numofseconds in the two parameter files to 130. After doing this, Stop the Identity Manager Web Server. Then stop the Identity Server. Start the Identity Server.
Then start the Identity Manager Web Server. Start a new browser session and see if you get the same error.

  • Difference between client Export/Import and a system refresh

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know the diffrence between client Export/Import and System refresh.
Actually i have done client export from our production system and imported it into our quality system, I have asked our functional consultants whether the production data is now available in Quality. They replied me saying whole data of production system is available in Quality system as off date i have copied the export.
The size of the export was around 8GB, How can this have all the data of Production system which is around 600 GB.
In this way what is the use of System refresh which is done by database level ( changing the cntrl file etc... ), As i am getting all the data by doing Client Export/Import.
    Thanks & Regards,

What is system refresh when and why it is done?
The system refersh is nothing but the deletion of the client and replacing the data from other client. For example : you have clients 100, 200 and 300. Suppose when you want to refresh the client 100 you remove the client 100 and replace it with 200 0r 300 as per your reqiurement.
Mostly the refresh of clients will be happen at the time of development stage.
System Refresh is a simplified term to Client Copy. Client Copy means copying the production client on to the quality to test the real data. As recommend by SAP this need to carried out every 3 months.
The process to carry out the same is as follows:
    1. Create a client on quality system using txn scc4
    2. Create a RFC between Production system and Quality System (need to create on quality system)
    3. Login to the newly created client using sap* and pass as a password
    4. Txn sccl to start the client copy.
You can test the client copy by selecting the test run option. (test run will estimate the time taken for the activity).

  • Technical systems and Business systems in SAP XI

can any one tell me ,breifly explain the  diff b/w <b>Technical Systems</b> & Business Systems?
steps to create Techincal system and Business systems?
and also Steps for creating Software Components? For Technical System we can create more than one Business systems ,what it means?can any one explain?

    Hi
First I let u know with analogy and actual definition as below
Any module of SAP like MM, SRM, FICO ets makes a logical system in combination according to business requirements is a business system which is actualy hosted on an application server like ABAP AS or Java AS which is basically a technical system.
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in system landscape (a CRM server, for example). Most systems (Web AS ABAP and Web AS Java systems) automatically report information to the SLD about the elements that they contain by using the SLD data supplier programs. You need to manually register the following types of system only:
    Standalone Java systems
    Third-party systems
Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using SAP XI and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape.
The business systems of business partners are not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use services in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a service in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system service).

  • Communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System

    Hi,
Is it possible to have communication between PC/RM Backend and ERP System by cresting RFCUSER with user type communications data instead of Dialog user.
Because of audit policy , none of DIALOG user should have SAP_ALL profile.
Is there a option to set up communications  between PC/RM Backend and ERP System without a Dialog user setting.
    Pravin

    Hi Pravin,
You are right and the user should be always communication or system. GRC AC allows for the user to be communication or system. Can you try with PC/RM RFC user and see if it works? It should work

  • Adapters to Integrate SAP XI and Siebel system

    Hi,
Can anyone guide as to which Adapters would be useful to integrate SAP XI and Siebel system. Can we use SAP standard adpaters if so which one ..please let me know ?
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
The new Siebel versions includes CORBA and MQ APIs .you could use the JMS Adapter from XI ( which is for free ) and connect to MQ to that.
and as such there are no Siebel adapters for Xi apart from using them from iWay which i agree with Frank.
    Have a great day!

  • Diffebetween Business system and Logical system...

what is the difference between Business system and Logical system...

    Hi
Business system is a logical layer needed for configuration in integration directory. On the other site technical system is physical representation of your technical landscape. In case of SAP technical systems you can have more than one business system relation. In that situation there is relation one client to one business system.
If your technical system changes, then you definitely need to point this new technical system to the existing Business system which has been used to do all the Configurations in the Integration Builder.

  • Logical system and business system

Hi experts, please help me with the below questions---
    1) What is the diff between logical system and business system?
2)what is the difference between logical system(defined in R/3) and business system (defined in SLD) in idoc to file scenario.
    3) Is it require to give the logical system name of the xi server(Which we define in idx1 port) to the 3rd party system(Application system at the FTP side) to carry out file to idoc scerario?

    Hi,
    Business System :
    1. Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems. Depending on the associated technical system.
    2. Business Systems should be mandatory used when dealing with Idoc's and Proxies .
    Business Service:
    1. Business Service requires manual adding on Inbound and Outbound Interfaces, Business Systems do not.
    2. Business Services are maintained across environments and so, their names cannot be changed. Business Systems names can be changed across environments by providing SLD level transport targets.
3.In the Business Services we cannot maintain the Group and Targets in SLD. For Ease in transporting your ID/Configuration objects Groups and Targets are used in SLD for Business Systems.
4.Business Service has no SLD Entries and No Assigned Products and SWCV's
