Hi,
I have created many reports using SQL Server Data Tool 2010 and at my work, we are using active batch to ran reports every month.
Now question is, my boss want me to set up reports such a way that when active batch is ran, reports should be exported into excel sheet automatically with the default values given for parameters at some specific folder location. How can I export report
into excel sheet automatically when active batch is executed?

How to Export SSRS report into Excel format using query string

Hello all,
I am new to SSRS world.
Last night i was trying to add a hyperlink on the SSRS report (.rdl) file, by clicking which we can export the report into "Excel" format, but with no luck.
Can anybody tell me how to form the hyperlink, so that we can export the report with its current content ( I mean the report content generated by selecting some parameter values)

Based on your scenario, you want to add a link on the SSRS report file, and then click it you can export the report into “Excel” format.
Just as kishan1901 said , you can add a textbox to your report and type in the words “Click here and export the report
to excel” .Then right-click the textbox and select Properties. Switch to Navigation tab, click the radiobutton of ‘Jump to URL’ and type in the expression ,here is just a example:
="http://vyof1884200/ReportServer$youhoo?/My+Adventure+Works/Product+Sales+and+Profitability+by+Month&rs:Command=Render&rs:Format=excel"
Then preview the report ,you will see
Click here and export the report to excel
when you move the mouse to it ,the mouse will become a hand ,then left-click, it will jump out a dialog box to indicate user whether the excel file should be saved , opened or canceled.
I think this is what you want, if you have any further requirement, could you please describe it in more detail? We would give you some resolution or workaround.

Reg: Download report into Excel file

Hi All,
While downloading the ALV report into excel file(System -> List -> Save -> Local file) or (List -> Export -> Local file), i cannot download full report in to excel. Even though the report contains just 200 rows(I can able to download about 90 lines).
Some reports can able to download all the data, even the report is very big. Currently I am blind to solve, anyone can help me to solve this issue.

The most elegant way of downloading ALV display data to EXCEL is displaying the excel in the SAP GUI screen itself. Select "Excel in Place" and then save it from there. Before that you need to let the VB script of SAP know as trusted macro. This is done by opening a blank excel file then go to Tools > options > Security > Macro Security > Trusted Publishers (tab) > (check) Trust access to Visual Basic Project. This activation is one time activation. Once you do this you can see ALV display exactly like in normal ALV with all the colors fields etc.

I need to create a dashboard. How do you bring Crystal Reports into Excel?

I need to create a dashboard. My boss wants a spreadsheet to show multiple reports and charts about the business. I know you can insert multiple charts in Excel. However, I need to be able to insert a report next to one of the charts.
I am thinking of using the RDC and bring in a Crystal Report. The problem is that I see with Crystal Reports 2008, you can't use RDC.
Is there an upgrade to RDC? How do I bring the Crystal Report into Excel next to the imbeddged charts. I know I can export a Crystal Report to Excel. But that Exports to a entire spreadsheet. I just want to embed a Crystal Report into Excel. The last time I did a project like this, I used to use the RDC with the same code as in VB6. Worked great.

I don't have .NET. However, if that is the only way, then I can buy .NET.
I just need someone that knows how to do it to point me in the right direction. To embed something in Excel, I hadn't thought of using .NET.

Formatting problem in download report into EXCEL Sheet

I have requirement that the Column in the report have values as 1.50,1.5,3.50,when i'm downloading the report into Excel sheet,The values are rounded and appearing as 1.5,1.5,3.5.
Can anyone please let me know how to resolve this requirement

1) Excel will not take zero's after decimal(1.50) it will roundup(1.5) the values.
2) you can do like in formula section use CAST(column_name as CHAR) and download it to excel then u will get the zero i think...i didn't tried
or Column properties--->Data format --> Select Number--->use 1000's Seperator for 1 decimal and save the report and download it
but it should work!

If you want to download the displayed list in the Excel file,then at the time when the list is displayed on the screen, you can go to System option on the menu bar,from there go to List and then Save.You will get a pop up which shows you all the formats of download available.Select the one you want to and mention the target path of the file on the Presentation server.
Secondly,you can use the T-codes "CG3Y" to download the data from the Application Server to the Presentation Server and T-code "CG3Z" for vice-versa.
Or else you can use any of the FMs to first download the ABAP list to the ASCII or the BIN format and then convert it to excel using the FM "SAP_CONVERT_TO_XLS_FORMAT" or "TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP

Oracle crashes when trying to pull reports into Excel

We are using Oracle 806 with Designer 2000 to pull reports into excel (office 2003).
Here is the issue, when we try to pull the report into Excel the report pulls and it puts it in the tmapps/files folder, but excel does not open and oracle crashes.
We also tested it with office 07 with the same results.
What could be causing this?
Let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help you help me.

If by "oracle crashes" you mean the DB, then there are trace/dump files that the DBA can find that will help to identify the cause of the crash. If you mean Designer, I have no experience there.
Regardless, consider newer versions/alternatives to both since they are both very dated (10 years at least) by this point.

ALV Report into excel

Hi All,
I have developed an ALV Report and its having 58 columns.
While converting report into excel sheet (on ALV Report screen), i can save the excel sheet.
But in excel sheet, i am not getting the exact report in correct columns.
Few columns are getting into next line inthe excel sheet.
How to avoid this problem...???
Is it due to more number of columns in ALV (58 columns)...?????

Go through the code and Execute it on your system, I think this will do for you.
In this code I used 3 radio buttons in my selection screen:
If u selects the first radio button your out put shows into to the Excel sheet.
If u selects the second radio button your out put shows the in the Editor screen.

How to Convert Report into Excel Sheet when Sending Mail.

i want to send mail to HOD of Product with an Excel Sheet .
i want to send Pending Issue details to HOD in Excel Sheet attachment .
here i have pending issue report now i need to send it in Excel Sheet attachment .
i have table where i have manage Product ID and HOD OF PRODUCT.

Need Spool file 255 characters for background HR Reports into Excel

We have been looking for a solution for problem this for more than 2 years now.
Problem:
1.     Requirement is to run large HR reports either standard or with Ad Hoc Query in background mode in a company with more than 50,000 employees.
2.     Nobody wants printed reports these days. We want to save the forests. Customers prefer to be emailed an Excel file so they can do further data analysis, filtering, pivot tables etc.
3.     Reports are running OK in foreground for smaller sections of the organisation, where you send the output to Excel from ALV, or save as a local file in spreadsheet format.
4.     But large reports for entire company are awkward, tie up your PCs resources, and complex reports accessing many tables can timeout before completion.
5.     So scheduling these reports to run in background would be the ideal solution.
6.     However when we access the report output from SP02, we find that most reports (say with more than 13 or so fields) have an output wider than 255 characters and the output of the spool file wraps to the next line in Excel. It is very tricky to then parse the data back into one row for each employee. And you have a problem if you output is for 50,000 or so employees, because then you file is 100,000 rows and will not load completely into Excel limit problem of 65,536 characters.
7.     We simply want a spool file that does not wrap the data to the next line after 255 characters.
8.     But how to explain this simple requirement to some technical people. It seems a lot of posts on SDN think we always want to print a spool file. NO remember the forests!
Possible Solutions:
I see a lot of posts here that refer to OSS note 186603, but they dont mention the target for the output of the spool is to import into an Excel File (i.e. spreadsheet format). Just search for 186603 or Spool request with more than 255 columns. There is also a reference to OSS note 313566. I am not sure if these will work?
I have also seen the suggestions that you need to define a customer printer format that does not wrap the output after 255 characters (create a new format type in transaction SPAD).

Converting Report into excel file

i want to convert report output into excel format(in csv format) without using
delimeted feature of Reports 6i. how can i do it.I have done it in Forms 6i using
text_io package, but i'm unable to find exact query after running report.

Can a summary of responses be exported into Excel?

You can also save the Summary Report as a PDF file. That might be better for exec mgmt.
