Config for Unlocked Nokia Phones

Has anyone noticed that the configuration page for unlocked Nokia phones has "disappeared".

If you click on the first link you'll get a message telling you that the service is dead. The US is also not a supported country in the "replacement" services. 
Is there a another service that anyone knows for how to get your unlocked Nokia phone (in my case the 2680 slide) to work right on US networks like AT&T medianet?
I've tried various google searches, but have not come up with a complete set of instructions for my model phone.
Any help/advice would be great.

I disagree for these reasons:
1. Nokia could have provided some advanced warning that the service was "going away". That would be good customer service.
2. It is a very similar concept to how broadband providers supply the parameters and "email software providers" can supply how to implement the providers in their packaage. I can get the parameters from AT&T or any carrier, but where do you enter them on the actual phone software? Only Nokia can say this. Nokia shold provide a tech doc and a consistent process for this  - that was the purpose of the website. If they are going to kill off the website then they should provide the instructions for how to enter the parameters from the carrier.
If Nokia is not goig to tell people how to implement the parameters - or even assure people that they can be entered at all - then I think it is false advertising to say teh phones work in the US market.
btw - I agree that AT&T et al probably do not like the unlocked phones on their network, but the botom line is that if I buy a phone from Nokia and it does not work I'm just going to return it so does that help Nokia? I think not.

After much hassle I believe I have found some hidden clues to how to get the 2680 Slide working on AT&T and as soon as I have that confirmed I will post. The menus and configuration are quite different from the 6300, 6085, and 2360.

    No. Apple does not charge. It is entirely up to he carrier to set conditions and fees for unlocking.

    I followed the instructions to unlock our two old iphones after having iPhone 6. I received "unlock" message for one phone and did not receive the message for other phone. I am not sure if the phone has been unlocked. I went to AT&T store at Bridgewater Commons, NJ. and like to know if it Is unlocked. I was told that they can not tell and I need go to T mobile store to find out. I stopped by T mobile and found out the phone is still locked. So I went back to the AT&T store to try getting help. Because I already tried to unlock this phone three times before. There were 10 ATT people in the store and only two or three customers there. I asked one of employees to tell me what I need to do. I was told that they do not have the service to help unlocking and I need to call customer service. I said to her that you have 10 employees here and why can not help, I would like to speak to the store manager. The store manager Dawn was there and she told me the same thing. They can not help and I need to call the customer service. I kept asking but why you can not help. Finally she said that she can help me to call the customer. She called and the phone was not go through. Finally the employee asked me the phone number and I thought that maybe she will help me to unlock. Actually she just made another unlock request online for me and I need to wait the email in 24 hours and redo the unlock process later. I would to know why att store can not help the customers to unlock their old phones after getting the new phones. Why att keeps 10 employees in one store and can not help to solve customer problems.

    AT&T keeps 10 employees at a store in case they need them to assist customers with purchasing items, or with items recently purchased.
    The Store representatives can't help you with the unlock portion because it requires access to systems they are not authorized to access. If store employees could access the unlock system (other than the very same portal you can access) then there would be a high risk that there would be inapropriate unlocks by employees for their friends & relatives.  AT&T's solution is to not allow them access to those systems, and have everyone go through the same process so that everyone gets the same treatment.  If you are having problems with your unlock requests through the portal, try contacting customer support or you can send a private message to the escalation team at ATT Customer Care and someone will get in touch with you in two to three business days to help you get a resolution to your problems.

    I am looking for a way of signing a midlet with a temporary signature for development purposes for a Nokia phone.
    I know that in the Motorola iden SDK there is a function which signs the midlet with a signature that lasts 48 hours and works even on the actual device.
    does anyone know if there something similar for Nokia?

  • A summary of this forum for perspective Nokia buye...

    I have been on this forum for about 2 weeks (not long I admit) ever since the release of "free" navigation for (your) Nokia phone.
    Since then I have observed the following:
    Nokia blatantly refuse to acknowledge or comment on issues which make them look bad, to whit;
    - Nokia maps not working with BlueTooth
    - Nokia Maps failing to update on certain handsets
    - A time/date bug causing phones to crash when using Nokia Maps
    - Nokia voice files failing to install due to an LUA error
    - Nokia's refusal to comment on whether certain phones will be supported
    - Nokia's refusal to answer questions directly either on or off the record
    - Numerous complaints by customers mislead by Nokia's blatant lie that Nokia Maps are     now free for phone.
    - Nokia's license servers failing to work when a license is purchased.
    - Nokia's license servers rolling licenses forward to version 3, and then being unable to work with version 2 when any of the previously mentioned issues arise.
    Nokia have further seen more than 40 users post to say they will never buy another Nokia (myself included) PURELY regarding the dishonesty they have shown with their handling of the maps situation. Nokia have still not commented, nor stated publicly their intentions with regards to these issues.
    Nokia have, in short, angered their (once) loyal customer base and driven numerous people away for the opportunity to (falsly) advertise free navigation on their phones.
    I feel the above is a fairly apt description of the occurences of this board over the last 2 weeks.
    Does anyone else want to point out something I have missed/agree/disagree with me?
    Please post your (reasoned and intelligently ONLY!) oppinions here, and lets see if we might be able to get through to Nokia.

    Err, if you post here, you really shouldnt expect Nokia to reply to you since this is aUSER-TO-USER FORUM. The Nokia hired moderators here arent even technicians who could answer some of the questions. They're just here to enforce forum rules. Some Nokia employees do come around from time to time, but that's so rare as to us not expect them here at any given time. If you want an official Nokia response to your queries, the only way would be to mail them through the contact us button at the top of the page.
    As for shamelessly ignoring questions regarding n95 and n96, lets see. They announced that they were working on the maps to be compatible on other s60v3FP2 phones to be available this year, hopefully within the first half (n96 included). This has been already answered before. Then somebody comes in and posts the same question again. It is answered. A few days later someone else asks it again. Personally, some people here do get tired of answering the same question again and again sometimes at intervals of a few hours of each other. Most of the people here who answer your questions arent Nokia employees and are in no way obligated to answer your questions if they have already answered it like 5 or six times. I've seen here posts regarding the new answer key for the v40 5800 right next to each other asking the same thing, and one of the threads was answered.

    This subject is not covered under any other headings so here goes
    I have ordered standard and advanced settings for various Nokia phones from the the Nokia website
    Why is it that with some phones like the 6230i and the 6101 when the settings are installed, there is automatically a selectable access point to activate as the preferred access point and with other phones like the 6103 and 6233 I have to manually configure a personal access point before I can activate it. I am writing about GPRS / Data packet preferred access point for use by java applications.
    I have tested this for various operators
    This is a settings issue for preferred access point and I know it has nothing to do with web settings or service availability

    madann, newer phones do not have this option anymore. If you create an SMS with your URL and save that to the archives, you are able to start from there. An alternative are PROV files which you sent via Bluetooth. Did that help?

    s60 phones are usually the smartphone family the E and N series all run on s60. 
    6700 new navigator, the 6220c also runs on s60, 5800xm runs on the new gen for touch screens s60
    the lower modesl 1xxxxx,2xxxxx,3xxxx, 5xxxx,6xxx (the 6 family is divided and can either run on s40 or s60 depending on the phone) series usually run on s40 platform.  for every phone you can look up specs and it will tell you which platform or operating system the phone runs on

    The Unlock Code is available from the network the phone is locked to. once you get the code from them, you should be able to unlock the phone using the procedure outlined in the link below.

    Try using a different theme (preferably Nokia default..).. If the problem persisits...a Soft Reset by dialing  *#7370#  followed by security code 12345 (default) or the one you have set.. may resolve the issue.. but take a back-up of your data before doing it as the reset will earase data from your phone..

    Hello. I have an Iphone 5S and have a doubt about the touch id. I want to use it only for getting apps from the apps or itunes store. To unlock the phone i don´t want neither touch id or passcode. Is this possible?
    I´ve tried all the options available.
       - if only select touch id for app store, it keeps asking me the passcode to unlock the phone
        - If i turn the passcode off, it doesn´t allow me of course to use touch id anywhere...

    If you're using Touch ID, it takes no longer to unlock your phone than it does to pick it up. That's the whole point. It certainl doesn't take 5 seconds. Of course, it also doesn't take 5 seconds for me to enter a 4 digit passcode.

    Only the carrier to whom the device is locked can unlock it.
    If you do not meet their requirements or they do not offer unlocking there is no official way to unlock the device.
