  • Configuring Apache httpd.conf for Multiple Web Servers

    After successfully serving a single web site from my MacMini, I'm having trouble configuring httpd.conf to add an additional site. My httpd.conf file looks something like this:
    NameVirtualHost *:80
    <VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerName www.domain1.net
    DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents/Domain1"
    </VirtualHost>
    <VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerName www.domain2.us
    DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents/Domain2"
    </VirtualHost>
    Whichever domain I put first on the list is the one that gets served, as though apache isn't able to match the ServerName and defaults to the first vhost.
    Both domain1.net and domain2.us are registered through no-ip.com. Verizon, my isp, blocks port 80, so I configured AirPort Extreme to map public port 81 to private port 80. Dynamic DNS and port mapping works fine serving a single site.
    Are there other lines in httpd.conf that I need to edit?
    MacMini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    John--
    I handle it slightly differently on my Macs. I have this line:
    NameVirtualHost *:80Then for my virtual hosts, I have the following:
    <VirtualHost *>
    ServerName localhost
    </VirtualHost>And then for the second one:
    <VirtualHost *>
    ServerName www.host2.com
    ServerAlias host2.com
    DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/dir2"
    </VirtualHost>The first server is the default one you get when you put http://localhost into the browser window, or if you were to request it by IP address.
    I don't use the default /Library/WebServer/Documents folder for any of the sites on my machine. For the first web site, I use something like /Library/WebServer/dir1. So I make that change up earlier in the config file.
    In your case, you'd want to add server aliases for the first one:
    <VirtualHost *>
    ServerName domain1.net
    ServerAlias www.domain1.net localhost
    </VirtualHost>Hope this makes sense...

  • Configure Apache httpd.conf for struts requests

    Hi everyone,
    I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but I have been struggeling with this for a number of hours over the past few days and can't get it to work. I have a standard Apache2-Tomcat installation on a solaris machine. I have apache configured to talk to Tomcat to mod_jk.so and it wokrs fine for servlets and jsp. Now I have introduced struts to the picture and Apache does not seem to know what to do with the .do requests. I have configured httpd.conf according to a bunch of articles/posts that I have found on the Internet. Here is what a snippet of it looks like:
    # Load mod_jk module
    # Update this patch to match your modules location
    LoadModule   jk_module   libexec/mod_jk.so
    # Declare the module for <IfModule directive>
    #AddModule    mod_jk.c

    Ok, thanks for clarifying that. But, the poroblem still lies with Apache since that has to handle the incoming HTTP request and then forward that onto something that can handle the processing (in this case the servlet container Tomcat). Just like you have to tell Apache where to send requests to .jsp files, the same has to happen with .do. This piece seems to be working, but after it finds the worker it then doesn't know what to do. Clearly I am missing some setting that I have yet to find.
    Thanks,
    Nik

  • How to configure Apache Virtual Hosts?

    Hi, I was wondering, how does configure Apache virtual hosts for Mac OS X Client 10.4.5? At this time, I have added
    NameVirtualHost *:80
    <VirtualHost *:80>
    ServerAdmin [email protected]
    DocumentRoot /Library/WebServer/Documents/janus
    ServerName janus.php.test
    ErrorLog /private/var/log/httpd/janus.php.com-error_log
    CustomLog /private/var/log/httpd/janus.php.com-access_log common
    </VirtualHost>
    Finally, when I try to use the name in the browser, I get the following error message:
    Safari can’t find the server.
    Safari can’t open the page “http://janus.php.test/” because it can’t find the server “janus.php.test”.
    Well, I must go and thanks in advance.
    Peace,
    -Conrad

    If you want to use the fqdn you defined and can/do not want to register it as a Internet Domain you can add it to the hosts file in /etc/hosts if you are comfortable using terminal and the shell
    open a terminal
    and use the following commands
    cd /etc
    sudo vim hosts
    (you will be prompted for your password here, enter it and hit return)
    in vim scroll to the last line which will look like
    ::1 localhost
    type
    i
    (you are now in insert mode)
    type the following line
    192.168.0.15 janus.php.test
    (replace the ip address with the ip address of the host in question)
    hit Control-C
    type
    :w (vim will confirm in the last line)
    type
    :q
    you are back at the terminal
    test your new hosts file by typing
    ping janus.php.test
    Hope this helps

  • How to configure apache for ssl in windows platform

    hi all,
    can anyone help me expalin how to configure apache for ssl in windows platform.

    George,
    I would take the following 'first steps'
    1)Install Apache20 on your Windows machine following the Apache online documentation
    http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/misc/tutorials.html
    2)Make sure you can 'serve up' static HTML content from your Apache Server
    3)Install Weblogic Server per our online documentation
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/install/index.html
    4)Also, make sure you can 'serve up' both static and dynamic (e.g., JSP) content
    directly from WLS server
    5)Once you have both of the above 'sanity' checks attempt to configure a simple
    proxy by ppath or mime type via our online documentation

  • MOD_WL - Apache 2 frontend stuck when one of Weblogic Servers stuck

    We are using an Apache 2 Web Server as a frontend of our Weblogic Server 10.3.2 installations,
    using mod_wl configured as follow:
    <Location "/csi">
    WebLogicHost jerico.procergs.reders
    WebLogicPort 8012
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    ErrorPage http://www.consultasintegradas.rs.gov.br/FalhaConexao.html
    </Location>
    The Weblogic Server is using a default workmanager.
    When Weblogic Server gets overload by "stuck threads", "out of memory", "connection pool out of
    resources" or similar reasons, the Apache Web server always get stuck with many slots in WAIT
    state. This stops acess to all Weblogic Servers installations, until restart the Weblogic server
    which was stuck.
    Is there another way to configure Apache as a Weblogic frontend without Apache stuck toguether
    with any Weblogic under it ?
    There are timeout parameter to be configured in mod_wl not to stuck Apache when Weblogic stuck ?
    Thanks in advance
    Mauro do Valle

    Hi,
    The best way to get rid of your issue is by try to do the following stuff:
    - Use more WLS servers which are in cluster in different boxes. (i.e. This would help you to load-balancing and fail-over your request )
    - Use "*WebLogicCluster*" instead of "WebLogicHost" as you have to give the host-names of the servers which are in the cluster
    - By default "*Idempotent*" is ON and this is used for fail-over after *300* seconds as that's the default value for "*WLIOTimeoutSecs*" (i.e. if an response is not been sent by one WLS server for any-reason, then the response would be sent to the second server. ) This way if any one of the server has gone down for some reason and was not able to send the repose then second server would server the requests.
    Following is the example:
    <Location "/csi">
    WebLogicCluster  MS1HostName:7003,MS2HostName:7005
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    ErrorPage http://www.consultasintegradas.rs.gov.br/FalhaConexao.html
    </Location>For more information about the parameters have a look at the below link:

  • Setting up the Apache HTTP Plugin for several BEA Servers

    Hey together,
    i would like to setup the apache http plugin for several bea-servers.
    I am running apache 1.x on my hp-ux system. There are 2 bea-server-domains on this box and both should be proxied by the plugin simultaneously.
    As far as i know it isn't possible to run 2 or more instances of the apache webserver. I heard of virtualhosts, maybe i should try this one out.
    Somebody knows how to deal with this problem or does any1 know if virtualhosts could cope with my needs?
    Thanks in advance

    Ok here i am again and i'm stuck. Here my wishes again:
    there are 2 weblogic-instances (domains) running on a machine xxx, instance A listening on port 8041, instance B listening on port 8051. I want to configure apache virtualhosts in combination with weblogic plugins, so that request with /ld will be sent to instance A while requests with /ldd will be sent to instance B. Both are no clusters. Therefore i tried it with the following configuration (httpd.conf):
    <VirtualHost xxx:8080>
         DocumentRoot "/opt/hpws/apache/htdocs"
         ServerName xxx:8080
         <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
         WebLogicHost xxx
         WebLogicPort 8041
         #MatchExpression *
         #PathPrepend=/test2
         </IfModule>
         <Location /ld>
         SetHandler weblogic-handler
         PathTrim /ld
         </Location>
    </VirtualHost>
    # VirtualHost2 = xxx:8090
    <VirtualHost xxx:8090>
         DocumentRoot "/opt/hpws/apache/htdocs"
         ServerName xxx:8090
         <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
         WebLogicHost xxx
         WebLogicPort 8051
         #MatchExpression *
         #PathPrepend=/test2
         </IfModule>
         <Location /ldd>
         SetHandler weblogic-handler
         PathTrim /ldd
         </Location>
    Doesnt really work. Can some1 help please?
    Thanks

  • Possible to switch from Apache to IIS for 9.3.1 BI+ products?

    I need to see if it's possible to 'convert' my 9.3.1 Hyperion BI+ tools to run on IIS instead of Apache, or how hard/tricky it is.
    1) Anyone ever switched web servers? Can it be done without uninstalling & reinstalling all the BI+ products?
    2) what are the pitfalls?
    3) Will SS re-register with it smoothly or would I have to set all security & provisioning up from scratch?
    4) how to connect Tomcat back up to IIS?
    5) The Financial Reporting (reports plus books/batches), Web Analysis and Interactive Reporting documents, scheduled BQY jobs, and Workspace itself would continue to function normally once IIS is in use right? or do things have to be re-imported or something?
    6) The default port would be different right? does that cause any issues given this is an existing production enviro? Do i have to change the port in several places or does some re-register wizard take care of it??
    I've had Tomcat/Apache in production for over a year so before attempting this cutover I'd llike an idea of what I'm up against to make sure it's even possible.
    Thanks!
    Karen

    I'm switching them solely to have a better shot at implementing true single sign-on to where it'll pass the PC user's MS AD login ID to all the Hyperion products. With all my questions above I may have given the impression I was also moving off Tomcat, I am not. Was just being overly cautious to make sure my bases were covered. We're still using Tomcat so as I understand it, Web Analysis should still be okay..right?
    Pleasantly surprised that Support was able to tell me how to switch web servers, it was simple and it worked for Workspace (but I can't get Web Analysis working yet now that I tried to implement SSO at the same time):
    "As long as the IIS is on the same box as where you are using for Apache HTTP, then the simplest thing to do is to shutdown Apache, change the Port of IIS to 19000. Restart IIS, then run the configure Web Server component of the config tool, selecting IIS."
    To change the port of IIS6:
    Microsoft Internet Information Services versions 4.0 to 6.0
    1.     Open Internet Service Manager or Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
    2.     If necessary, expand the Web server that you want, and then expand Web Sites.
    3.     Right-click the Web site that you want to change.
    4.     Click Properties.
    5.     Click the Web Site tab.
    6.     Change the TCP Port Number in the TCP Port edit box (or click Advanced for multiple Port settings).
    7.     Click OK to save the changes.
    I now have Workspace working to where it does NOT prompt for a login ID, it works nicely & transparently running on IIS. Web analysis however literally produces a login popup box, the title of the window is the Web analysis server name. Can't figure it out so I opened an SR to hopefully get some assistance. Unfortunately I forgot to test WA after switching to IIS, I went ahead and configured for transparent login too before trying WA so I'm not sure which is causing the login popup box but since I can't get past the login box WA throws up a "you are not authorized to view this page" page.
    Ever done this? should it work? that is, WA running on IIS/Tomcat; and also WA working after following the IIS/Tomcat Transparent Login instructions provided by Support - they've been floating around for a while so I assume you've seen them...?
    Thanks,
    Karen

  • Error in configuring apache plug in with weblogic 8.1.5

    I tried to configure Apache 2.2 plugin with weblogic 8.1 SP 5 in Linux ES 4.0 . I am getting the following error while loading weblogic_module in httpd.conf file in Apache server (restarting apache server after putting entries in httpd.conf).. The error is httpd: Syntax error on line 414 of /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: API module structure `weblogic_module' in file /usr/local/apache2/modules/mod_wl_20.so is garbled - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO?
    Did anyone got this error before?

    The solution is for BEA to provide the plug-in. Probably a few minutes of a work for BEA developer. Weblogic 9.0 has it.

  • Configuring Apache HTTP as an RPS

    Longback i configured Apache HTTP as an Reverse proxy to weblogic for singlesignon with OAM.

    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/plugins/apache.html
    but after oracle aquiring the oracle i can not able to find the link for Apache plugin .
    can any one please upadte the new url to download APACHE HTTP server plugin

    Hi,
    You can download the latest apache plugins from the below link.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html
    Click on the "see all files" options of the Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3, and you can download the same under the
    Mandatory for 10.3 installers.
    Cheers,

  • Compile Apache plug-in for WL7.1 SP4

    Hi all,
    Several advisories of Apache have been published. We would like to acquire the latest Apache version. According to the information of BEA. Apache plug-in of WL71SP4 is only provided for Apache 2.0.42-2.0.49. As a result, a new plug-in is needed: we would like to compile one.
    We only have compiled Apache plug-in (with WL71SP4). We cannot find the source in WL71SP4.
    Does anyone know how can I compile a Apache plug-in for the latest Apache version? Preferably, we would like to use APXS for the compilation.
    Does anyone know if we can use the existing plug-in in latest Apache version? We have encountered problems before -- the plug-in refuses to start and complains about incorrect magic string of the Apache version.
    Thank you very much.
    Regards.

    I'm using the mod_wl_ssl.so for Apache on Linux from service pack 5. I
              understand that the communication from Apache to WLS will be via http...
              that's not the issue.
              I think what would solve the issue would be if someone from BEA could post
              an httpd.conf file that was configured correctly to use the ssl proxy for
              Apach on Linux. Also, I can't seem to get clarification if openssl is or is
              not supported.
              Can you post a correctly configured httpd.conf file that was used in testing
              the ssl proxy as well as confirm whether or not openssl is supported???

  • Problem in configuring Apache Web Server v2.2

    Hi,
    I am facing problem in configuring apache web server with tomcat 7.0. I want to configure the web server in such a way that I can access the application only using the localhost(without appending the port to it). Ex I want to access the application through "http://localhost" instead of "http://localhost:8080".
    I tried to configure it using the concept of vertical clustering and "load balancer", but failed to do that.
    Can anyone please tell me steps to configure apache web server with tomcat or provide any useful link / urls to do that one.
    Thanks in advance

    The only way you can achieve it is by running the web server to listen on port 80
    Please change the port in your httpd.conf file for the webserver and restart it.
    If any other processes are running/using on port 80 on that machine, then please stop them, otherwise you will not be able to achieve your requirement.

    I have the experience of confiugring the Internet Explorer for Oracle Forms Web-deployment. But I just want to know what are all the changes are required to configure the Netscape Navigator for Oracle Forms Web Deployment. I came to know that it needs some changes in .dlls. Please advice me any techincal refereneces in this regard.

    I've a similar configuration: Sun Sparc Solaris 8, Forms 6i Patch 10 and Apache server which comes with Oracle 9i server.
    Forms 6i is on his own Oracle home. I have Forms Listener Servlet working.
    Take a look in ../Apache/Jserv/etc/jserv.conf Make sure ApJServMount /servlets /root and ApJServMount /servlet /root
    are defined. If you want I could mail you my conf-files. My email-address is [email protected]

    Configuration of Listener Servlet with patch 8 on Sun SPARC Solaris
    I am trying to install and configure Forms6i Application Server for Sun SPARC Solaris 8 with Patch8.
    I am installing application server in /home/oracle/home9iAS, and have set up the development environment in /home/oracle/forms6i.
    1) First i install Forms Server and Reports Server, for that i need to define following env variables
    $ORACLE_HOME is /home/oracle/forms6i
    $ORACLE_BASE is /home/oracle
    i am defining them in .profile file in oracle account.
    2) Apply Patch 8
    3) Install Application Server with Minimal Installation
    4) Configure Forms Listener Servlet using http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/pdf/p8listenerservlet.pdf pdf file, i am following it to the letter.
    When i try to access forms listener server using http://hostname:port/servlet/oracle.forms.servlet.ListenerServlet i get an error:
    "Not Found
    the requested URL /servlet/oracle.form.servlet.ListenerServlet was not found on this server."
    What can be the reason?
