Configure Datasource for ejb problem!

Hi,i have a ejb application,to run it,i have to config a datasource,the ejb will look it up with the jndi name "java:comp/env/jdbc/myDB".I need to create the datasource on the server console(i use weblogic) and bind it to the JNDI tree with a proper JNDI name.I tried "jdbc/myDB","env/jdbc/myDB" and "java:comp/env/jdbc/myDB" out,but none of them works correctly,a error message shown below is always printed out by the ejb:
No "java:comp/env/jdbc/myDB" DataSource located();
DB Connection was not acquired!(null)
I've got a headache about it for 2 days,please HELP!
best reguards!

    I doubt that Oracle 7 DB is not supported. You may consider raising a SR with support.

  • What driver and DataSource for EJB transactional semantics?

    Hi people.
    Joe Weinstein clarified a point that should be much clearer in the online docs:
    "If you want EJB transactional semantics, you must use a TxDataSource."
    I'm not clear about the relationship between TxDataSource and XA-drivers. I want
    transactional EJB semantics.
    So I must use TxDataSource.
    Must I use XA-enabled drivers too?
    What drivers can I use for Oracle?
    Thanks, Alex

    Hi Alexander,
    You need to use XA driver in case you need truly distributed
    transactions (spanning multiple databases instances).
    Otherwise you could use non-XA driver with TxDataSource.
    weblogic will simulate XA behavior. It will work for single
    db instance.

  • Problems importing a datasource for a Data Merge? It might be one word...

    For the life of me, I could not figure out why this one CSV file was not importing correctly into InDesign CS6. I could see the datasource in the Links panel but nothing showed up in the Data Merge panel.
    Through trial and error, I figured it out.
    In the CSV file, one of the column headers used the word table. It's what the client gave me, so I never thought much about it. Once I changed the word table to seating, the CSV imported properly into my InDesign file and all was right with the world.
    One word, I couldn't believe it...
    Hopefully this will save you from all the trouble I went through.
    Cheers!

  • Prefences API for EJB's

    Is the new Preferences class an appropriate place to put configuration information for EJBs?
    Does that mean that the Windows registry (or Unix equivalent) would need to be modified when an EJB is deployed to an application server?
    What is the recommended approach for configuration information for an EJB?
    Thanks

    Can you give a bit more information on which Preferences class you're referring to? You shouldn't need to put any ejb configuration information in the Windows registry. The best place to put ejb configuration information when using the J2EE 1.4 SDK is in the sun-ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor that is packaged in the META-INF directory of your ejb-jar. You can
    find the DTD in the <S1AS_HOME>/lib/dtds directory.

  • Studio Creator and configurable datasources problem

    At design time we've binded components to a creator-configured datasource. As a result the Studio Creators generates in a '_init' method of a session bean code like
    'rowSet.setDataSourceName("java:comp/env/jdbc/mydb");'
    (where 'rowSet' is a 'CachedRowSetXImpl').
    So far so good.
    In the next step we tried to make the datasource jndi name configurable to use this code to connect to different databases. It works fine in a web/app-server environment at run time.
    But unfortunately the Studio Creator doesn't accept this code. Using something other than the shown hard-coded jndi string in a statement like the example above results in a component error...
    This means that we've to use different code at design time and build/runtime? At the moment after working at the design every time we change the code (substitution using ant, e.g.: "java:comp/env/jdbc/mydb" --> getDatasourceName() ) and build the archive.
    Is there is any other way to avoid this problem? We dislike such one code patching...

  • Configure security-role and method permission for EJB 3.0 using Jdev 11g

    The EJB 3.0 session bean created by Jdev 11g EJB wizard does not have ejb-jar.xml. Where and how can security-role and method permission for the EJB be configured?
    For example,
    <assembly-descriptor>
    <security-role>
    <role-name>managers</role-name>
    </security-role>
    <method-permission>
    <role-name>managers</role-name>
    <method>
    <ejb-name>Employees</ejb-name>
    <method-name>setSalary</method-name>
    <method-params>
    <method-param>java.lang.Long</method-param>
    </method-params>
    </method>
    </method-permission>
    </assembly-descriptor>

    user516954,
    By default annotations are used. However, you can create a new descriptor and that will take presidence over any declared annotation.

  • Configure webservices as datasource for coherence

    Is it possible to directly configure webservices as datasource for coherence. So that after a preconfigured period of time, the cache refreshes itself. If yes samples/ documentation for the same.

    Hi Tally,
    you can do almost that, but not exactly that with out-of-the-box features only.
    You can use the refresh-ahead feature of the read-write backing map with which a get to a key will cause the refresh of the entry value from the cache loader which will be seen by the subsequent get to the same key.
    Alternatively you can schedule your own periodic processing with some timer which fetches data from the backing storage and it puts it into the cache.
    A mix of the two would be to have the periodic processing issue the get requests which trigger the refresh-ahead behaviour.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Error using SAP datasource for OmniPortlet

    I have installed and configured PDK 9.0.4.0.2 on my iAS 10g system. Also installed and configured the SAP datasource for OmniPortlet. After I put an OmniPortlet portlet on a portal page then I begin to define the defaults for the portlet instance, I select "SAP - Use SAP R/3 system as a source of data" and press the Next button. I get the following error message: "Error: The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error".
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rick Wright

    AIX/5.3 - OAS10g ( Portal version Default 9.0.4.0, won´t work!!! )
    Hi there...
    I did got some problems when I was installing a SAP OMNIPORTLET...but now , it´s working just fine ...
    Please ,
    1 - First , pay closely attention on the documentation and installation guide :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/point_downloads.html#SAPDS
    2 - Make sure that you are using a CORRECT version. For PDK , must be 9.0.4.1;
    3 - Sapjco.jar version 2.0.2 isn´t available anymore, at SAP website. I have used sapjco.jar version 2.0.10, and please, follow ALL instructions, that´s include do the examples;
    4 - Make sure that all steps (Installing the OracleAS Data Source Plugin,Installing the JCo lib´s,Testing the Deployment, etc) describe on the installation guide, be complete successfully;
    5 - On my case, ´cause we have Infra and Middle , at same host ( hold on...it´s just a developed enviroment...), a did specify a CLASSPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH , at ..EMC > Middle > OC4J_Portal > Server properties > enviroment ..
    6 - My question now is... That plugin it´s just able to see a default BAPI´s? It´s possible to work with "Z" functions ?

  • "Datasource" or "Tx Datasource" for Local Transactions

    I am wondering whether I should use a "Normal DataSource" or "Transactional DataSource"
    Object in my EJB deployment.
    According to the docs, Tx Datasources are needed only for distributed transactions.
    For local transactions Datasource is recommended. I need only local transactions
    and
    initially used a non-transactional datasource.
    The problem I came across is that WL6.1 doesn't set the ISOLATION LEVEL as specified
    in the deployment descriptors when a normal Datasource object is used.
    When I switch to Tx Datasource - isolation is set properly.
    Has anyone encountered this and is it a bug or am I not understanding the
    documentation correctly.
    Thanks, Samuel Kounev

    and combine LO DS with AP/AR and GL through infoset or mutiprovider...
    You need to look for these KPIs in different datasources...and then link them.

    Ashish

  • Add gridlink datasource to Multi Datasource for failover in weblogic

    We have a RAC installation for which I have configured a Gridlink datasource. Also we have a single node DB which is used as a failover database in case RAC is down.
    Now I want to configure a Multi Datasource so that I can add the Gridlink datasource as well as the Generic Datasource in the Multi Datasource and configure it for failover. But when I create the Multi Datasource, I do not see the option to add Gridlink datasource to Multidatasource.
    Can you please suggest what can be done to add the gridlink datasource to multidatasource? If this is not possible, then how can the Generic single node data source be configured as a failover datasource in case the Gridlink Datasource is down.
    Thanks in advance

    What is the problem you are trying to address? Is the issue the availability/non-availability of your RAC database? It may make sense to focus on this first.
    The normal use case for Multi Data Source is failover or load balancing between nodes of a highly available database, such as RAC which keeps data synchronised.
    I am not sure if using a Multi Data Source across Oracle RAC and a non RAC database is supported. If the intention is to provide a HA solution, you will need to have a data synchronisation solution as well. As this is what Oracle RAC does, we come back to my opening question.........
    I assume that Multi Data Sources cannot include Gridlink and non-Gridlink sources for these reasons and also because Gridlink is intended as a replacement for Multi Data Sources, providing better failover, load balancing and performance.
    Hope this is helpful
