Configure "Start Video Call" as the only option?

Bit of a strange request I know!
Is it possible to configure Lync 2013, to only display/enable the "Start a Video Call" option? i.e. remove the "Call" option, so that every 'call' is video based?
I've looked at policies and adm templates but cannot solve this.
Any thoughts or ideas welcome.
Many thanks.
Mark.

Hi,
Agree with Thamara.Wijesinghe.
It is impossible to achieve with Lync client naturally. You may need to custom your own Lync client, you can post the question on MSDN Lync SDK forum. Thank you for your understanding.

Sounds like an activation issue. Quite Premiere Pro. Sign out of Creative Cloud. Restart Premiere Pro. Sign back in: http://bit.ly/CC-sign-out
    Hope that works for you.

help! imovie media browser only has one option, "Mobile". other videos had option for medium and small. mobile option wont import into iDVD. other videos gave me the Medium option, why not this one? need answers ASAP!

    That is your answer then.
    Large is 960x540
    Medium is 640x480 (or 720x480)
    Mobile is probably 480x272.
It is offering you the sizes that make sense given the size of your source material.
As a trick, you might try this. In your project, put a short 640x480 clip in the project as the first clip of the project. Then keep the rest of the project as is. See if it will let you share now in Medium. It will not look as good, because there are not enough pixels to cover the Medium size, but it might work.

After I do this, the "Convert To" box goes "gray" and I am unable to convert the document I have selected.  It was working great for the first week that I used it, but now it doesn't give me the converting option.  I am very frustrated as I have done nothing to change anything, and I was thinking this was so great...now I am just pulling out my hair and do not have the option of calling anyone since no phone numbers are listed. I am VERY busy and do not have time to sit and wait over a half an hour to "chat", which I tried to do yesterday.  All I want to do is very simply, convert pdfs to Word.  I have paid for this and am not getting any help. I am not very savvy when it comes to Adobe this program and Adobe that program...I feel I am being scammed as I do not get simple answers for something that appeared was going to be simple. You can't even call customer service to talk to someone live to help walk you through.

    Hello Kathie,
Sorry for the inconvenience that has caused to you.
Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.
Let me know if this converts fine.
    Hope to hear from you.

  • Tried installing latest iTunes (10.5.3.3). During installation received error message asking to verify access to "C:\Config.Msi\187e500.rbf". The only option it gives is "try again" or "cancel". No choice but to cancel installation. Any suggestions?

The problem started when my current iTunes kept popping up a window stating that my Auto Run was turned off. (which means iTunes will not be able to recognize when a CD is inserted or ejected). It asked if I wanted iTunes to run  Auto Run and I select Yes every time (this window pops up every time I open my iTunes), but a second window pops up stating iTunes cannot turn on my Auto Run setting (but it will still be able to recognize CDs) to which I choose okay. A third window pops up after stating that iTunes was not properly installed and if I wish to import or burn CDs I need to re-install iTunes, except that I can import CDs since I did this only yesterday and this problem has been going on at least a month.
To add to this, I cannot cannot automatically update to version 10.5.3. (I don't recall which problem came first, my Auto Run problem or the fact that my iTunes can't update). iTunes suggested that I manually install the update, so I went to the apple site and tried manually installing the latest iTunes (10.5.3). However, during the installation process I received an error message. It asked me to verify access to "C:\Config.Msi\187e500.rbf". The only option it gives is "try again" or "cancel". I tried hitting Try again a few times but the same error message popped up, so I had no choice but to cancel the installation. Afterwards, I tried searching in my C drive but could not find "C:\Config.Msi\187e500.rbf"
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can update my iTunes?

I should have posted this earlier, but anyway. I restored my laptop to factory version after backing up any useful data, and the first thing I the laptop was restored was connect to the internet, download and install the latest version of iTunes. And Bingo! It worked.

    Hi,
I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
    I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the  Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number  is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
    On the Mac restart Messages
    Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

When I plug in my external LaCie drive I get an error message "the disc you inserted was not readable by this computer."

Disk Utility sees the disc but does not give a repair option.
    What can I do?

The good thing about mac-centric resellers such as OWC, is they have people on staff that can answer questions without you buying things first. They also have how-to information, and instructions are included in many of their products. I saw a link to watch a DIY video in one of their pages; an example of a RAID (with its own power supply) is shown on their drives page. Also a few in there, with no power supplies, for less money.
If I were looking to backup and perhaps also have a partition for a system clone, I'd consider something like one of these: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB
Some ideas on the RAID backup methods appear in google search, some of the pages are ideas and concepts; and the better ones also warn about using RAID for the only backup plan.
Oh, OWC has live chat. Haven't tried it, nor have I bought anything from them. I have what appears to be two products from them, but have not used either. One is in a box as-new, but has only USB2.0 ports & my Macs needed FW400/800. It has been said their RAM is a good way to upgrade, too. But I can't confirm!
A 'RAID-ready' unit for backup may be more versatile for just that, but I have not checked into these details. I use single HDDs in powered enclosures, and usually manually make backup clones to FW drives, of bootable OS X systems. Some of the OWC raid-ready use eSATA ports so that may not be viable for a computer without them.
The unused in-box external drive I have is like the base model in the link above. However mine is USB2.0 (maybe) and won't boot my older Macs due to hardware variance; and my preference would be for FireWire options, these models do offer that. But the one I have does not. Dual 500GB HDDs, and they could be used in tandem as a RAID. That would be a choice set up in software. I'm not sure and not interested enough to read up just now.
    My backup method is not automatic, or a moving backup plan, if I don't get a move-on and make full system clones. I do make copies of photos and documents the manual way, to USB external drives; and occasionally backup to DVD or CD media. And USB flash, that helps to move files between computers without need to use file sharing via wi-fi. {Like Why fly? Walking is better exercise unless one is a bird. Squawk!}
    https://www.google.com/#q=raid+backup+mac
Depending on the ports in your Mac, you may be able to use other cables to attach between a backup or externally enclosed hard disk drive with multiple partition and bootable clone in one of them. Not sure about the Thunderbolt, and where that is the main port, adapters are required to access other devices, as allowed.
Anyway, I am going on and on, yet not really saying anything.
My ideas would not be all that interesting to follow as a backup
plan when matching available newer hardware to task, but you
can get some into better ideas if you are not in a rush. Get a
good setup and then look into more an betterer stuff.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My iphone took all of my pics off of my computer. this is making it very slow. How do I remove them if the only options are places or albums?

    Hello,
I accidently hit restore on my phone and erased everything. When I called Apple they helped me retrieve everything from my computer and more. I now have over 4,000
pics on my phone  that were on my computer, which is making it very slow. How do I get these off when the only options the phone is giving me are places and albums

  • Trying to reinstall OS X Lion but the only option is to reinstall OS X mountain lion is there a way around this?

I recently formatted my hard drive so that I could give my computer to my brother but when I was trying to reinstall OS X Lion (10.7) the only option that showed up was to reinstall OS X mountain lion which I do not have, so now I can't get past the menu that comes up when you hold command + C. How do I reinstall to OS X Lion when it isn't even an option that shows up

Ok, well, having had Snow leopard on it originally solves the question: the license for Lion (or Mountain Lion for that matter) is not transferable. You are required to erase the drive and reinstall the original OS (Snow Leopard). Giving or selling it with Lion (or ML) on it will not be helpful for the recipient because the machine ID and their Apple ID will no longer match so they will not be able to get updates.
Have you checked your Purchases section at the app store? Here is what shows on mine:
If you are using the recovery mode and Mountain Lion comes up, then I can only assume that this is what you purchased. I don't know why it would show up otherwise.
As far as selling your Mac, the above is irrelevant since you will need to reinstall Snow Leopard and the recipient will need to purchase Lion (or Mountain Lion) using their own Apple ID.
However, you need to check on this since you may want to download Lion again for another machine of yours. So, if you are sure you purchased Lion and nothing shows under your Purchases at MAS, I would either call Apple or make an appointment with your nearest Genius Bar to get it sorted.

  • Macbook pro freezes when I perform a soft reset. The only option is for me to hard restart it to get it working again.

Hey everyone, I've been searching for quite awhile for an answer to this issue, and I haven't found it - so I figured I would post a question about it. To give some details, whenever I soft restart my Macbook Pro (By resetting it through the "restart" option at the top left) it will shut down to a gray screen and just sit there forever. The only thing I can do, as far as I know, is a hard restart - by holding down the power button and shutting it down - I know this isn't good for it, but again, it's about the only option I've got.
I've tried to verify/repair my disk permissions, and that hasn't helped.
I've also not installed any software since before that started happening. I'm also using OS 10.8.2 - I don't remember what was installed prior to that though - but it's an early 2011 model...the problem actually started happening well before I updated to Mountain Lion, and it's still happening now.
    Thanks!

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • I can't import Seamonkey bookmarks because the only option shown on the "Import" screen in Firefox is for Internet Explorer.

On my XP computer the "import" option screen shows both IE and Netscape/Mozilla as choices; on this Windows 7 machine the only option is IE. Re-start doesn't help, and the installation of Firefox went smoothly.

You can export the bookmarks in SeaMonkey to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.<br />
Which SeaMonkey version are you referring to?
    * Export the favorites in SeaMonkey to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):
Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > Tools > Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • Is rss the only option?

so i was reading about all of the random shut downs, i have that problem too about once a day.
but i was wondering if the heat thing is the only option.
but if that is the only thing and i have to take it in for repairs i jsut want to know for sure.

Nobody on here is going to be able to tell you "why else" you may have to take your machine in for repair.
Nobody on here can definitively tell you why the random shutdowns are truly happening because Apple hasn't outlined the problem. There is some decent speculation, which is seemingly pretty accurate. But who knows? At least it appears to be "over" as of late.
If you're having random shutdowns, just call Applecare or take it into an Apple store and they'll get you squared away with what to do. They'll also (surely) run a diagnostic check on the machine to make sure everything else is fine as well.
    Good luck.

  • IWork the only option?

Is iWork the only option MAC users have for importing/editing/exporting Word Docs?

Like everything else, it depends on what you're going to be using it for.
As Peggy says, TextEdit is great for working with text documents, but if you're working with complex files with photos/graphics and advanced formatting (headers, text boxes, columns, etc.), it won't be of any use.
I've just started playing with NeoOffice/J, which is Java-based. I don't know how new your iBook is, but on my iBook (700 MHz G3, 384MB RAM), NeoOffice is slow. Also, although it does interpret Word's advanced formatting, text boxes and graphics don't always line up, and its rendering of photos is hit-and-miss. When I tried converting a Word file into NeoOffice format, the conversion engine (I think it's a Java version of Visual Basic) hit a road block and froze. If you're sharing documents at work, and you need something to work on them at home, I'd recommend thorough testing before going ahead with NeoOffice.
AppleWorks 6 works great with text, but it's dicey on bringing in graphics, and it doesn't convert headers/footers at all. On the plus side, being a native Apple product, it's much faster than NeoOffice.
So much for the free applications. I haven't used iWork yet, but on the principle that it is an Apple product, and is the next better version of AppleWorks, I have high expectations for it.
Another alternative is ThinkFree. I don't know how it compares in price to iWork, but it does a pretty good job of importing/exporting basic Word files. It's been a while since I used it, and I don't recall importing anything with graphics or headers, but there must be others out there who have tried more advanced formatting with it.
    Hope this helps.

  • My hard drive failed. I was able to restore my files from an external hard drive. I have my bookmarks saved but am not able to import them into Firefox as the only option is to import them from another browser. Any suggestions?

    -My hard drive failed.
-I was able to restore my files from an external hard drive.
-My bookmarks are saved to a folder on my new hard drive.
-I am not able to import them from this folder on my hard drive into Firefox.
    - the only option Firefox offers for importing bookmarks is to import them from another browser...is there another way?

In Firefox the bookmarks are saved in a database file called places.sqlite in the profile folder. If you have got this file from the external hard drive you can restore the bookmarks by copying this file to your current profile folder. For details of the location of the profile folder see either https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles or http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
