Configuring ccms to monitor a remote system

Hi.
Im trying to configure my ccms system to monitor a remote epp 6.0.
As it is now, the epp has a ccms agent installed.
Question is:
how and where do I change the agent to send data to my ccms and not to the currently configured system.
and.
when I click "agent working dir" on the ccms system. (under agents for remote SAP system tab) I get this:
Cannot display information due to older age
I know this is sparse info, but what Im looking for are pointers to help me on the way...maybe someone has "the link" im looking for.
I have created an rfc to the remote system. A type T to program ID: host.sapccmsr.99 this hos is the reciepient of the agent data as it is configured now... this host now, collects all ccms data..what I want is, my system to get this info

Hi
I'm getting exactly the same error message when playing back the script I've recorded. Albeit in our SAP system (not BW system)
I'm in our Development System at the moment and want to reply back into the same System that I have created the eCATT in and created the recording to run the eCATT in.
Did you manage to resolve this?
If so could you share
Thanks
Steve

  • Monitoring of remote system's Transactional RFC and Queued RFC

    Hello,
    In our production system, in rz20- CCMS monitor templates- Communication-Transactional RFC and Queued RFc- outbound queues- Queues otherwise not monitored we can see blocked queues for each client.
    System is connected to solution manager and we wish the central auto reaction is implemented in solution manager
    However i am unable to find Transactional RFC and Queued RFC for the remote system, they exist only for solution manager itself
    Tell me how can i do the central monitoring

    Hello,
    First you need to check with your Landscape in solman in order to monitor any kind of activities to do so pls follow these steps.
    Go to SMSY in solman under Landscape components>Product systemsselect you satellite system example SAP ECC.
    On the main screen you will find client for which you have generated RFC connection. Please check though connection are working fine, Go to edit mode and try to click on generate button there will be a pop-up, which gives a clear picture of RFC connection which already exists, and you can also re-generate this RFC connection by clean it up when you re-generate pls select under Actions after generation assign RFC dest for system monitoring.
    But make sure there is no project impact on this RFC, like they are not using any logical components and already have some projects running on this RFC connection.
    I would advise you to first you the option of assign and check RFC button which is next to generate icon.

  • Reg CCMS Availability Monitoring

    Hi ,
    I am in the process of configuring CCMs availability monitoring for my Systems.
    I have the following scenario
    1. System A is the CEN System and the CCMSPING Server is running in this System.
    2. System A should monitor System B and send a mail if the Server B gets shut down
    I have done the following until now
    1. CCMS Agents are running and i am getting CCMS  Alerts of System B from System A
    2. In Rz21--> CCMS PING Monitoring. I have added the systems
    When i select the system B in Configuration Overview and Performance Availability and select Ping Test it is failing
    Please let me know the following information
    1. Does CCMSPING installed in System B also?
    2. Do i need to create a SM59 connection in System B(as i have in system A) with name CCMS_SYSTEM_PING_DEST.  If so what are the parameters for that

    Hai,
    Check your inputs for the System, such as Message server port, Message server host, CS Message server host/port.
    or try re installing the CCMSPING utility.
    Check the below link for further details.

  • CCMS - issue configuring new IDoc monitor template

    Hi,
    we wan´t to create a new CCMS IDoc monitortemplate in our central ALE configuration system and define all relevant remote SAP System and transport the complete template to the Solution Manager System.
    We wan´t to customize the template in the ALE configuration System, "not" in SolMan.
    These are the steps i´ve already done.
    1. create new MTE´s by transaction BDMONIC2
    2. customize the new MTE´s by tr. BDMONIC
    3. create a new Template in RZ20
    4. create a new Monitor for the new TEMPLATE in RZ20
    5. after some minutes (the new created MTE´s are available for configuration)
    First question. Why i have to wait some minutes to see the new MTE´s in the new monitor ?
    anyway,
    the monitortemplate for my own system(template creation system) is working fine.
    6. Now i´ve created new entries to monitor remote SAP Systems in RZ21
    7. I can see the new SAP Systems in my new TEMPLATE in RZ20
    8. I would like to use my created MTE´s for every SAP System. Transport all MTE´s and configuration to the relevant SAP Systems.
    9. I can see all entries in BDMONIC2 and BDMONIC in the remote System ...
    ... but I can´t see the new MTE´s in RZ20 in the remote System and
    I can´t see the the new MTE´s (for the remote system) in my new TEMPLATE in the ALE configuration System (where the remote system is assigned).
    note: I saw that a new MTE creates a new alert class in RZ21.
    This class is filled in the template creation system(ALE configuration) but not in the remote system.
    Any ideas what is going wrong here ?
    thx,
    Gordon

  • CCMS IDOC Monitoring

    HI All,
    I've configured CCMS alert monitoring for IDOCs and Batch job failures. In case of any IDOC failures, in CCMS tree it just shows that there is an alert with description "Outbound: Error in IDoc interface". But it doesn't shows the details of the IDOC failure means complete Status record of the IDOC. Is it possible to display detail level IDOC display in CCMS.
    with Regards

    Check it via BDMO - usually Computing Center Management System (CCMS)  will have Test option which may give you the detailed view of IDOC(error).
    Thanks!

  • Remote system CCMS segment not in local segments

    Hi,
    I have configured CCMS agents before but this one is puzzling.
    - downloaded latest CCMS agents sar file for PI systems
    - I have created the csmconf file and placed in the right locations.
    - i started the CCMS agent for PI systems from Visual Admin and it found the csmconf file, i provided the passwords and it  started but the segment name is not in "local segments" in RZ21 in SOlMan (Monitoring: Display technical topology) and therefore i am limited to what i can see in RZ20.
    - i unregistered the agent and started it at OS level with the -j2ee option and gave the passwords and it still did not come under "local segments".
    - the PI systems have remote Databases from which i started the CCMS agents and they do appear under "local segments" and can see them in RZ20.
    - their respective CCMS agent are visible under the PI system's RZ21 "local segments" but as far as i remember from the OS level i did not configure it to register itself with PI itself but only with the CEN which is SolMan.
    in my other solman systems the remote PI CCMS agents and amongst others are all under "local segments" and they all visible in RZ20.
    I want to register the agents for the PI systems so that they appear under the "local segments" tab in solman and i can carry out my monitoring but they do not.
    has anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks,
    Mani

  • CCMS alert monitoring data for ORACLE is not visible in Central system

    Hello,
    I have installed sapccm4x agents in the CI of the Satellite System and it shows in the Central System as sucessfully registered under Agents for remote System and the RFC Connection test is also successfull. When i check in RZ20 in Central System not all the predefined monitors are visible of the Satellite System in the Central System and mainly the MTE element ORACLE. The database,CI and other instances on the Satellite System are installed on separate hardware. As said the database is installed not with the CI but a standalone.
    Please let us know what needs to be configured in order to get the MTE element of ORACLE to show in the Central System.
    Thanks,
    Vinod Meno

    Bhudev,
    Thanks for the quick respose..
    1.Sapccmsr agent is installed on Java standalone server and it has been sucessfully registered and running and we can grep the process to see its state as well as in the Central System i can see under ccms agents for remote systems it shows and the RFC connection test is also sucessfull.
    2.Yes we are sending the data from the DB to CI first,but we also want the data visible in the Central System mainly for the MTE element Oracle.The filesystem of the Satellite Systems shows up in the Central System but i am intrested to capture the MTE element Oracle since we plan to monitor the tablespaces threhold .
    I am thinking of opening an SAP message but i am trying to see if i can get some info that can give me the result.

  • Solution manager and CCMS monitoring of remote database

    I have Solution Manager 7 SP Basis 6 installed. I have oracle remote databases connected successfully. Under DBCockpit I see the instances I want to monitor. I can see the backup, tablespaces, etc. These remote instances are SAP Portal JAVA only version 7 but under the dbcockpit alerts only shows alert monitor. The database check and check conditions are in white. Is there a way to see these and be able to report on them? The CCMS tree under the local solution manager also shows these connected remote instances but they are also white in color as if inactive. All CCMS agents and saposcol are running perfectly on the remote systems. The stats tables have been built, the synonyms for the solution manager are in place. What am I missing?

    Hi,
    Please download that attachment "scripts_1139623.sar" provided in SAP Note 1139623 - Using transaction RZ20 to monitor remote Oracle databases.
    Upon extraction of scripts_1139623.sar the following files you will get.
    rz20_nonabap.sql
    dbcheckora10_oltp.sql
    dbcheckora.sql
    Then Perform the below mentioned Steps to resolve your issue.
    Step 1: Create tables DBCHECKORA and DBMSGORA:
      sqlplus SAPSR3DB/<pwd>
      SQL> @rz20_nonabap.sql
    Step 2: Fill the table DBCHECKORA:
      sqlplus SAPSR3DB/<pwd>
      SQL> @dbcheckora10_oltp
    Step 3: Create the synonyms (as user ora<sid>):
    brconnect -u / -c -f crsyn -o SAPSR3DB
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBSTATC FOR SAPSR3DB.DBSTATC;
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBCHECKORA FOR SAPSR3DB.DBCHECKORA;
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM SAP_DBMSGORA FOR SAPSR3DB.DBMSGORA;
    Step 4: Grant Privileges for OPS$<SID>ADM User for the above created Tables
    sqlplus "/as sysdba"
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATC to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBCHECKORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBMSGORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTAIHORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATHORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATIORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    grant all on SAPSR3DB.DBSTATTORA to OPS$<SID>ADM;
    commit;
    Step 5:
    Now after successful execution of above mentioned Steps , in DBACOCKPIT (system configuration), try to save the Remote DB entry with "Collect Alert Data".  It will be saved without any error.
    If you find any errors, post the error contents as a reply of this thread message.

  • Remote system monitoring entry- data not relayed to Central system

    Hello Folks,
                        I am trying to establish a central monitoring system for our client. I am trying to test it in the DEV environment first.
    The central system is a Solution manager system (Dual stack- ABAPJAVA). I am trying to bring in monitoring data from the ECC development environment (ABAPJAVA).
    First of, i created to RFC connections in Solution manager system, one for data collection and the other for analysis. I have maintained the host address of the ECC system as target.
    Then i have created a remote system entry in Transaction RZ21--> technical infrastructure entered the 2 RFC names and have executed the function.
    At this point i am only trying to bring in ABAP stack monitoring data form the ECC system so i have not generated the CSNCONF file.
    Now when i look in Solution manager RZ20-->CCMS monitoring templates, i can't see any data for the the ECC system.
    I guess i am doing something wrong. Am i looking in the wrong monitor set?
    As additional information: Solution manager (SMD) and ECC (ECD) use different transport domains / transport groups. I dont know if this makes a difference.
    Can some one please help.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
    if I understand correctly your system shows only MTEs from R/3 Stack, not from the OS side, pls check your SAPOSCOL. Are the data in OS06 in your remote system correct and do you see the current data, refredhed all 10 seconds?
    To check your environment, pls do the following:
    in th efirst step check in RZ21 > in the Topology part the System Overview for your system connection to your back end system. Are the Read Destination Data RFC and the Destination Analysis RFC correct and works the authority chek fine?
    In the second step pls check in RZ21 > in the Agents for Remotey SAP Systems part; are there registered your remote ccms agents correctly and works the connection test.
    Stop the agents and in your RZ20 monitor pls enter STAT in your command field. Are there displayed for your MTE nodes the read RFC destinations?
    Start the agents and and in your RZ20 monitor pls enter STAT in your command field. Are there displayed for your MTE nodes the CCMS Agent RFC destinations?
    To rebuild the Monitor in the CEN system you could try to reset the node of your remote system in the warm up status > go in the remote system to RZ1 > go to local segments  > change to edit > select your segments > reset segment in "WARMUP" status.
    In the CEN system you coul try to go to the edit mode for the Agents for Remot SAP Systems > select your remote system and push the button Reinitialize Agents
    In the back end system you can try to delete all MTEs in RZ21 > menu Technical Infrastructure > Reorgenize Segment Table > select the options with "ALL" in the CEN and the remote system to reorgenize all data.
    Could you pls post for the missing MTEs a screenshot on the one side from the CEN system and on the other side from the remote system...
    and last but not least you could try the following for missing OS MTEs
    delete  ALALERTS, ALMTTREE and ALPERFHI in /usr/sap/ccms/<SID>_<SNR> and check in the agents folder all trace and log files for errors.

  • CCMS Alert Monitor (edit monitor-configuration.xml. ?)

    Hi Friends
    I'm trying to change the default polling time for the CCMS Alert Monitor, 5 minutes instead of 30 minutes.
    In http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/e5/5d1741b393f26fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm you can read:
    Accuracy
    The default polling period for the monitor is 30 minutes. If you want to have shorter polling periods, you can change them in the SAP NetWeaver Administrator as follows:
    1. Choose Availability and Performance Management ® Resource Monitoring ® Java System Reports (alias: /nwa/java-sys-reports).
    2. Select an arbitrary Number of errors entry in the monitoring tree of the Adapter Engine (leaf node).
    3. Choose Configuration in the right-hand pane.
    4. Choose Edit in the dialog box that appears.
    5. Change the polling period to 5 minutes, for instance.
    6. Choose Save and wait until saving is finished (be patient, since this may take a while).
    7. Choose Configuration Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Java Configuration Browser.
    8. Choose apps ® sap.com ® com.sap.aii.af.app ® Monitoring Configurator ® monitor-configuration.xml.
    9. In the xml file, change the polled-by-template period to the same value as above, for example, 5 minutes.
    10. Save the modified xml file.
    11. Choose Operations Management ® Infrastructure Management ® Start & Stop ® Java EE Services to restart the Monitoring service to apply the changes.
    But in step 9, the xml file I've found in my PI 7.1 (SP6) is this:
    <monitor-configuration>
    <monitor-semantics />
    <monitor-tree />
    </monitor-configuration>
    Also, there is no way to modify that file, you can only display it or download it.
    can anyone tell me how to edit the file.
    regards
    raja

    Hi Raja,
    This is the same as doing the following:
    You can locate the monitor-configuration.xml file in the SDA com.sap.aii.af.app.sda (inside META-INF folder). You can find this SDA in the install directory of PI installation. In this XML file please locate and edit the following tag:
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="30" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    Change the above to the following *************
    <template-info template-name="SAP_XIJ2EE_RCRDS">
                            <polled-by-template period="5" unit="MINUTE">
                                <generating-resource
                                    name="com.sap.aii.utilxi.rtcheck.mx.standard.XIJ2EEComponentMBean" type="APPLICATION"/>
                                <template-attribute-mapping>
                                    <invoked-resource-method name="getMonitoringRecords"/>
                                </template-attribute-mapping>
                            </polled-by-template>
                        </template-info>
    The main change is the polled-by-template value from 30 mins to 5 mins as per your req ******
    Construct back the SDA (you can search SDN for that) with this edited XML and then redeploy this SDA with the help of JSPM tool.
    This will re-start the PI Server for the changes to come into effect.
    I hope this helps.
    PS: You can consult your BASIS consultant to locate this sda and re-deploy it on PI Server.
    Regards, Gaurav.

  • Configuring CCMS alerts for Availablity Monitoring

    Hi All,
    We are in the process of configuring availablity monitoring in central system (solution Manager 7.0 with SP stack 23) to monitor all systems (ABAP,Java,Dual Stack, Trex,DMS,etc) in landscape.
    As a first step, we have registered CCMS agents in monitored (ABAP) system and connected to central system (Solman)
    All the required RFCu2019s have been defined for data transfer between monitored and central system
    In RZ20,i could see the availablity as 100% for the defined moniored system under  SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors>All Contexts on Local Application Server>CCMS self monitoring >CCMS agents>CCMSPING.hostname
    Not sure whether above path is the place where in we look for alerts
    Please clarify the below points
    i) how to configure the email alerts (in RZ20) from the central system when monitored system is down
    ii) the path in which I can find the alerts in RZ20 for that monitored system or how to add the monitored system incase if that  doesnt exists
    iii) MTE class under which analysis, auto reaction method to be assigned ?
    iv). data collection method and frequency
    v). Which MTE class to be used to assign the Autoreaction method (CCMS_test_mail alredy defined)
    Appreciate your quick response on this
    Thanks,
    vadi

    Hi All,
    Thanks a lot for your reply.
    Still i m having an issue in handling the  RZ20 alerts managemnent
    In RZ20,
    i) i able to see the added monitoried system id under the node CCMS Monitor templates>Availablity & performance overview>Availablity-->monitored sys id
    ii) When i click on open staus for the above node turns to green color
    ii) when i click on current status the node turns to grey color
    I am not sure whether the data collection is being passed since it doesnt turn red when the system is down
    However the dispatching jobs are active in both CEN and monitored (000 client) systems
    Appreciate your response
    Thanks,

  • How to configure CCMS alert to monitor Authorization failures?

    Dear All,
    How to configure CCMS alert to monitor Authorization failures?
    Thanks
    Ashok

    Hello,
    in case you have not yet set up your monitoring infrastructure, the following link will provide you with the information needed:
    http://service.sap.com/monitoring
    If everything is set up (Agents are installed and connected to your central monitoring system, ...) you can go to transaction RZ21, select Technical Infrastructure - Configure Central System - Assign Central Autoreactions to set up your alerts.
    For the Update errors use the MTE CLass AbapErrorInUpdate. For the Lock please use the search Option.

  • How to add other SAP systems in CCMS ALE Monitoring

    Hi all, how do I add other SAP systems to be ALE monitored centrally in the PI system?
    I want to monitor the Idocs in the SAP R/3 system centrally in PI with CCMS. Default is only ALE for the PI system itself.

    You can add additional systems to CCMS quite easily.
    I would recommend this to be done in Solution Manager though!
