Configuring Parallel Concurrent Processing with ssh

Happy New Year,
Metalink Note 185489.1 describes setting up PCP so that the applmgr account on each node can rsh into the other apps tier nodes, but has anyone been successful in setting it up with ssh? I see that the last time this document was updated was in 2004, quite some time ago.
Sincerely,
Ted Persky
Sun Microsystems, Inc.

I have configured PCP in 11.5.10.2 having two application server with OS RHEL 4.0 as follows:
a. On node app1 check whether the apps_sid listener is up and if it is down bring it up.
b. Log in to the applications by system administrator responsibility and do the following steps:
1. Check whether both the nodes are registered by navigating to Install > Nodes and verify.
2. Navigate to Concurrent > Manager > Define and query for Internal Manager.
3. In the secondary node box enter the name of <node2> and save the changes.
4. Do the same for some other concurrent managers except Standard.
5. For some concurrent managers do the reverse i.e. enter aap2 as the primary node and app1 as secondary node.
6. Query whether service managers of the name Service Manager (<node2>) and Internal Monitor (<node2>) exists along with its <node1> counterparts.
7. For Service Managers and Internal Monitors of both app1 and app2 define a ‘Standard’ workshift (IMP- The workshifts are not defined by default for IMON/SM since the IMON is a feature exclusively for PCP).
8. Define a new concurrent manager of name Standard Manager2 with definitions same as that of a Standard Manager except that in the specialization rules form include a program, say, Active Users.
9. Exclude the Active User program from the specialization rules of the Standard Manager.
10. Stop and start the concurrent managers by executing the script adcmctl.sh.
11. Check whether the FNDSM and FNDIMON processes have started on both the nodes. It should be, otherwise it is indicative of miss-configuration.
12. Navigate to Concurrent > Manager > Administer form select the Standard Manager 2 and activate it.
13. After it has activated check from the back-end of the second node whether the desired FNDLIBR processes have been started. It should be, otherwise it is indicative of miss-configuration.

Nitesh.

From Note 743716.1 - How to Setup and Test Failover of PCP on Non-RAC Environments
    Concurrent Managers configured :
    ERPCON1
    ERPCON2
    On those 2 Nodes :
    - APPLDCP is 'ON'
    - s_cp_reviver is 'enabled' (See Note 466752.1 - What is FNDREVIVER and How Is It Set?)

  • Oracle 12.1.3 Parallel Concurrent Processing Failover

I have installed / configured PCP on 12.1.3 Ebiz
When I stop the processes on the PRIMARY NODE, the processes on the secondary node stop also
I want the SECOND NODE to automatically take up the processing the the PRIMARY NODE was carrying out
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
I have Primary / Secondary node defined at the Conc Manger level
I have it set for the Conflict Resolution manager also (how ever I only have CRM set for Primary node... do I need to set this for the secondary node also?)
My aim eventually is to LOAD BALANCE between the two nodes and then have the failover automatic
Anyone out there seen any blatant errors with what I have described?

  • How to configure number of concurrent processes in XI?

    Hi experts,
    I have a simple interface:
    FILE -> XI -> FILE
The input file is a huge file containing thousands of records.
XI will split the huge input files, so that each record gets written to one file each.
Owing to the huge number of files being generated, I have many messages in status = "To Be Delivered" in the RWB.
When I do a filter for status = "Delivering", I see 4 messages in that status. (Of course the message IDs will differ from time to time, but at any point in time, I can only see 4 messages with the status = "Delivering").
How can I increase the number of concurrent processes that produces the output files?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Ron

    Ron,
From this perfromance tuning guide , page 12 ,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70ada5ef-0201-0010-1f8b-c935e444b0ad
<i>The Adapter Framework requires a set of fixed application threads within the J2EE Engine for proc-essing different internal messaging queues (AFW queue, BC Adapter, CIDX Adapter, and so on). Ad-ditionally, certain channel configurations also require a fixed set of application threads (for example, RFC sender channel, File adapter channels). This may require a higher number of application threads. Therefore, within the J2EE Engine configuration (configtool or Visual Admin), go to:
Global Configuration -> Server -> Kernel -> ApplicationThreadManager
Set the MaxThreadCount property to 300</i>
Not sure if this is the exact property but this is sure worth giving a shot.

  • BizTalkServer 2010 SFTP Adapter from CodePlex - Configuring send and receive locations with SSH public and private keys

    Hi there,
I am looking for step by step instrcutions on how to configure SFTP Codeplex adapter for both receive and send ports.
Out business partner with whom we push/poll the files from wants us to use SSH encryption/decryption etc.
Just wondering if the following functionality is supported in Codeplex SFTP adatper without having to write any code.
Appreciate if there is manaul to do this for SFTP. BTW I do have all the our public and private keys and business partners Public key for configuring.
For Send port: 1. we would need to encrypt the file with our business partners public key
                          2. sign the file with our private key.
                          3. Send the file through to SSH client which eventually transfers to Remote server.
Receive port:   1. Connect to SSH Server with SSH-2 key and receive the file
                          2. Verify the file's digital signature agaisnt the Business partners PGP public key
                          3. Decrypt the file using our PGP Public key
    Thanks in advance

    Yes it is supported.
You can find its documentation in this link
You can find section X.509 Certificate Identity Keys
You can set public and private key in property SSH Identity thumbprint  of send and receive port
I prefer to test it using client tool like
FileZilla or WinSCP then test it using sftp adapter

  • Parallel process with a queue and file?

Hello, first of all sorry for my bad english^^:
I am working for days on my project where I have to show the parallel process while transfering information by different ways and their problems (like timing and so on).
I chose the transmission of information to a parallel process by (1) a queue, and by (2) a file (.txt). (other ways are welcome, do you have 1-2 other ideas?)
To solve this problem I made three while loops, the first one is the original one, where the original information (as a signal) is created and send by queue and file to the other two while loops, where this information is getting evaluted to create the same signal.
so in the end you can compare all signals, if they are the same - so that you can answer the question with the parallelity of process.
but in my vi file i have some problems:
the version with the queue works pretty fine - it's almost parallel
but the version with file doesn't work parallel, and i have no idea how i can solve it - -
    i'm a newbie^^
can someone correct my file, so both (file and queue version) run parallel with the original one, or tell me what i can or must do?

A queue is technically never parallell, though you can have several if you really need parallellism. Other methods include Events, Action Engines, Notifiers (and why not webservices) for information transfer between processes.
Due to limitations in the disk system you can only read/write one file at a time from one process, so i wouldn't recommend that. If you use a ramdisk it might work.

  • CiscoWorks:Archieve configurations of routers/switches with only ssh/telnet

    Hi,
I want to do the archieve configurations of couple of routers/switches with only ssh/telnet and rest thousands of devices will be via snmp.
Currently I am backing up the configurations of thoudands of  routers/switches via snmp, as snmp is configured on them, but couple of routers/switches are external and snmp is not configured on them so I want to get their configuration via ssh/telnet only.
Please advise me that is it possible to do the archieve configurations of routers/switches with only ssh/telnet?
    I am using the
    LMS: 1.2.0
    RME: 4.3.0
    CS:    3.3.0
    CM:   5.2.1
    DFM: 3.2.0
    Thanks

The config archive protocol order applies to all devices universally.  Since you are using TFTP for most of your devices, I recommend you leave TFTP at the top of the protocol order list.  Add TELNET and SSH below TFTP.  The external devices will be attempted with SNMP/TFTP, but those operations will fail.  RME will then fall back to TELNET then to SSH.  It will eventually fetch the configuration successfully.

  • Single queue: concurrent processing of messages in multiple consumers

    Hi,
I am new to jms . The goal is to  process messages concurrently from a queue in an asynchronous listener's onMessage method  by attaching a listener instance to multiple consumer's with each consumer using its own session and running in a separate thread, that way the messages are passed on to the different consumers for concurrent processing.
    1) Is it ossible to process messsages concurrently from a single queue by creating multiple consumers ?
    2)  I came up with the below code, but would like to get your thoughts on whether the below code looks correct for what I want to accomplish.
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.InputStreamReader;

    Hi Mark,
if the messages are sent with quality of service EO (=exactly once) you can add queues.
    From documentation:
Netweaver XI -> Runtime -> Processing xml messages -> Queues for asynchronous message processing
...For incoming messages you set the parameter EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL from the Tuning category.
If more than one message is sent to the same receiver, use the configuration parameter EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL of the Tuning category to process messages simultaneously in different queues.

  • Cisco 3650 tacacs+ with SSH works, not for http to use wireless GUI

    Hi
Last week I installed a brand new Cisco 3650 switch and the wireless option.
    Everything works fine.
I also configured tacacs+. Login through SSH works fine.
Now I want to manage the wireless part from the GUI bij entering https://ip-address/wireless
Local authentication with priv 15 works fine.
Now I configured tacacs. After entering username password I received a blank screen.
After debugging, I got a SSl failed.

So authentication seems fine to me.
Do I miss something in the ACS server?
    Configuration for ip http login:
    ip http secure-server
ip http authentication aaa login-authentication TACACS
ip http authentication aaa exec-authorization TACACS
ip http authentication aaa command-authorization 15 TACACS
    Thanks!

    hi Erik,
command auth is not supported for GUI for the IOS-XE boxes.
Also can you try dong the following to check if this is a config issue.
I see that you have  used TACACS as a method-list. Can you try using “default”?
To use “default”, you need to maje the following changes.
Aaa authentication login default  group  <server-grp>
Aaa authorization exec default group <server-grp>
On the http front, remove all the commands that you have configured below and only have this
    Ip http authentication aaa
Can you paste the o/p of the folllowing commands?
    sh run | sec http
    sh run | sec aaa
Does http work instead of https?

  • OEM12C BP1 Default preferred credentials with SSH key credentials ?

Is it possible to configure Host Default Preferred Credentials to use a named credential created with SSH Key credentials ?
The drop down list only lists credentials configured with host credential types.

host target type has 2 out of the box credential set HostCredsNormal and HostCredsPriv
And both these are of type HostCreds (Username and password)
And there's code which assumes these to be of type HostCreds and process password.
Hence these are left as is.
What customers can do is, create additional credential set (emcli create_credential_set) and use HostSSHCreds type for it.

  • Oracle spawning parallel 128 processes when queried from Cognos

    Hi,
I am querying a parallel enabled table with DOP set to default. Oracle 11.2 is installed on a 16 core machine while Cognos sits on a 4 core linux system. When querying the same table fromToad, I observe 32 parallel processes. Any thoughts as to why the difference and why that many number of processes get spawned from Cognos?
    Thanks

What and what are you runnng and how are they configured?
I ask this because what you are seeing could be as a reulst of so many factors.
An example is that if you are using Planning Contributor, then you are likely to have more processes reading and writing to the database at the same time. The number of processes will then depend on serveral issues. For instance the number of CPUs on the box, the number of Contributor Applications, the number of Publish Containers and the interval the jobs are configured to run. Using a scenario where you have a single monitorin job on a 2 cpu box for 10 Contributor Applications. Ths may spawn up to 20 processes. To make things worse, if you happen to have some of the previous 20 processes not completing before the next job interval, then it adds more to the number you see.
