Configuring profile settings Nokia style

I was wondering if there is an app that allows you to configure your profile settings like Nokia has been offering for years now.
What I mean by profile settings is an app that I can use to configure my iPhone to for instance use different ring tones dependent on the selected profile, set whether or not it vibrates etc etc.
This link explains more clearly what it is I want my iPhone to do:
http://www.knowyourmobile.com/nokia/nokian70/nokiann70userguides/264/configureyourprofile.html

Just a "no"?
That's because no app would have access to the private API's necessary to do what you want. Only Apple could implement such, so if you want to see such capability, suggest it here:

  • OSX Mail not recognising Configuration Profile settings

    Hi,
I have a bunch of mail accounts that I created in Profile Manager which have been pushed to my iPhone. I then realised that I could use the same profile to configure Mail on my Mac so everything was nice and consistant. Except it doesn't work. I've installed the profile on my MacBook Pro, and the contents of the profile shows all the Mail accounts, however I was expecting to open Mail and see those account - alas it was not to be.
Is this how it's supposed to work? Should Mail be configured with the accounts showing in the Profile? Or do I need to do somethine more?
    Thanks
    Paul

I dont get any error's on my iphone that the smtp password is wrong or the server is down etc. And on exchange i can see that the mail has been send.
This indicates the mail was successfully sent by the SMTP server. If a message cannot be sent for whatever the reason, it will remain in the Outbox mailbox usually with an error message provided. A message moved to the account's Sent mailbox indicates the message was successfully sent by the SMTP server.
A successfully sent message does not guarantee the message will be accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server. Usually when a message is not accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server, a return email error message from the server is usually provided - but not always. Not with the high level of spam being circulated by low-life spammers.
Ask a recipient that is not receiving your messages sent by the iPhone's Mail client to check with their email account provider. You should be able to provide the recipient the long message headers for a sent message that was not received by the recipient.

  • Wi-Fi settings in iPhone configuration profile not working

    Hi there,
if I apply the exact same iPhone configuration profile by using a USB cable and the iCU it works just fine and the Wi-Fi is starts to work immediately. If I upload the profile to the web and install it via a webpage everything works except the Wi-Fi. Both times it is the exact same profile. Any suggestions? Anyone with the same problem?
    iPhone 4 / iOS 4.1 / iCU 3.1.0.256

Has anybody a better idea how I could avoid the problem? Maybe there is a better way of profile distribution? How are you guys distributing your profiles (no MDM solutions)? I don't know if distribution via email attachment is a good idea cause sometime email isn't already setup so the better way is to go via the browser and a webpage or the profile is going to change the email settings.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions ... Thanks a lot!
Maybe anybody knows a cheap and good MDM solution. We just have 7 iPhones in our company syncing with Exchange.

  • IOS 5.1 or iPhone Configuration Profile 3.5 for Windows has not fixed the issue with apply Proxy Settings

iOS 5.1 or iPhone Configuration Profile 3.5 for Windows has not fixed the issue with apply Proxy Settings via a Configuration Profile. Has anyone else got the same issue? Are Mac users got this issue?

This seems to be working for me now but will keep monitoring it the next couple of times I use it to make sure its not a one time thing

  • HT202577 What Apple TV settings can be managed by pushing configuration profiles?

    Hi everyone,
I'm aware that Apple TVs support configuration profiles installed via Apple Configurator.
I was wondering what Apple TV settings can be managed by those configuration profiles. Does such list with settings exist?
    Thanks,
    Dimitar

One, going from a G5 Quad to this pci access is a dream come true. I don't have an earlier intelamac to compare it with so maybe you're right though. Still I don't see any reason why people would have a problem with this on the new machines.
Two, the storage write performance surprised me too but I'm not upset about it, the numbers for both are still very high, and I'm wondering what software and hardware changes in the future might do about that.
Three, I guess machines and sensitivities differ, but my Mac is virtually silent. The only thing I hear is the fans on the video card when I start up and that goes away in seconds. The noisy ATI card reputation is not being lived up to in this case.
After just shelling out thousands for an 08 Mac Pro I can understand your reasons for not spending thousands more on an 09 model. But overall by most tests I've seen the 09's smoke your machine, and I believe they were not just produced for their capabilities now, but for what's coming in the future.
Like me with my Quad though, you'll just have to wait a few years, with me many years, to see the benefits of getting another machine.
To Leslie... Putting blue ray into the new macs would have highly inflated their already very expensive prices. Windows machines can get by with it because they are so cheap, and cheaply made, to begin with. I'm pretty sure the program Toast can make blue ray disks, and there's a plethora of devices to attach to a mac to do so as well.
And don't be so cynical about offsite reviews of products. I've read many scathing articles about products advertised on their websites. And if you've been reading articles about Macs as long as I have, you'd realize that the toughest articles on Macs come from people who are heads over heels Mac devotees.

  • What Configuration/Profile should use for Nokia 2280 ?

    I got a mobile phone Nokia 2280.
In the box is written "Supports J2ME".
In the Nokia website and java.sun.com, I can't find information about the configuration, profiles or APIs that i could use to write apps for this phone.
Did anyone already write apps for this phone ?? Some tips ??
    I know. I write bad english ;(

From the Nokia forum page for this phone it doesn't look like it support J2ME. It doesn't have the Java APIs section all Java phones have.
But seeing as it's a Series 30 B/W phone, I'd try developing with standard MIDP 1.0 + Nokia extensions, possibly using the 6310i SDK (which is also Series 30 B/W).

  • Configuration Profile Custom Settings in Profile Manager

    Hi All,
I'm a newbie when it comes to OS X configuration profiles. Does anyone have any resources on customizing or editing configuration profiles?
I've been playing around with Profile Manager for a few days and see the "Custom Settings" tab. I'm curious what kind of things I can customize here. Being a newbie I don't know where to start.... If anyone has any documentation or link to online resource or book recommendation on editing mobileconfig files or creating custom settings with payloads in Profile Manager I'd really appreciate it!! There are a lot of tweeks that I'd like to set on our computers and I'd like to see if I can do these tweeks with configuration profiles.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    ~Joe

Thanks for posting Brian  You're 100% right.  It's been noted and the revised article should be published shortly.

  • Sip server settings Nokia E63

Hi, I want sip settings of actionvoip in my Nokia E63 i wanna make new server profile plz help me if every one know this problem... I shall b very thankful to you for that.

I recommend the following steps for setting up your Nokia E63 for VoIP over Wifi (and perhaps for other S60 based phones as well), for Voip.ms, the realm settings were the same as the others:
How to configure SIP profile in Nokia Eseries devices for VoIP calls?
This text is a cut-and-paste from Nokia's FAQ.
The Nokia Eseries mobile devices support SIP VoIP internet calls. This article describes a sample configuration when user authentication is enabled in the SIP proxy and registrar servers. The proxy and registrar servers are located in the same device in this sample.
Before configuring the mobile device, the following information should be obtained from the SIP service provider (some other parameter values may also need to be checked if not using the default values):
SIP proxy and registrar server address ("sip.voipservice.com" in this sample)
SIP proxy realm ("inphone.com" in this sample)
SIP registrar realm ("sip.voiceservice.com" in this sample)
User name ("1234567" in this sample for both the proxy and registrar)
    User password ("1234")
Public user name ("[email protected]" in this sample)
In order to establish a VoIP call, a WLAN access point needs to be defined in the mobile device access point settings and the mobile device must be within the reach of the WLAN network.
Start the mobile device SIP configuration by going to menu Tools > Settings > Connection > Sip Settings and by creating a new SIP profile. The following parameters are defined in the profile:
Profile name: Siptest (can be freely chosen)
    Service profile: IETF
Default access point: WLAN access point used for the VoIP connections
Public user name: [email protected] (note that the public user name must be given in this format, including the domain name)
    Use compression: no
Registration: when needed (set "always on" if you want the registration to occur automatically)
    Use security: no
    Proxy Server:
    Proxy Server Address: sip.voipservice.com
    Realm: inphone.com
    User name: 1234567
    Password: 1234
    Allow loose routing: yes
    Transport type: UDP
    Port: 5060
    Registrar:
    Registrar Server Address: sip.voipservice.com
    Realm: sip.voipservice.com
    User name: 1234567
    Password: 1234
    Allow loose routing: yes
    Transport type: UDP
    Port: 5060
Note that the realm name is often the same for both the proxy and registrar but the name may also be different, as in this sample. If the registrar realm name is not correctly defined, the registration will fail. If the realm name of the proxy is not correct, the registration may succeed but the internet calls will fail.

  • Can I install more than one configurator profile

I want to develop 3 or maybe 4 layers of iPad iOS8 restrictions & Passcode rules.
For example ALL iPads will have enforced Passcode rules, but only SOME iPads ill require content filtering & SOME require Control centre in lock mode.
The actual working groups of iPads require a lot more complicated set of config elements - above is only an example.
I'd like to create & install different profiles & INSTALL MORE THAN ONE PROFILE.
I have tested this on a few iPads & it seems to work.
My question is - Is this the recommended way / is there a problem if i install more that one profile ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Kind Regards
    George kennedy.

We install many configuration profiles on each of our devices. We only use one payload per configuration profile so that we can be very granular with our configurations. What I don't know is what would happen if you installed 2 configuration profiles with conflicting restrictions (i.e. one configuration profile allows Messages, and another does not allow Messages). We just make sure we install only one restrictions configuration profile, and then a bunch of other configuration profiles (mail and calendar settings, web clips, WiFi profiles, etc) on each device.
    Hope this helps!

  • Inherit user profile settings

    Hi
I need some help to save couple of time managing profile settings for every user in our Agency. We use 10.6 Server, 10.6 on the clients and the Adobe Design Standard CS5. To use Adobes CS5 in a good way, many settings need to be stored in the users profile (like GREPs, printer joboptions, color profiles, etc.). Seperate from the huge time amount to configure every user on its own, it is more than possible to forget some important preferences. Is there any way to inherit from a adobe well formed user profile?
Thanks for your suggestions and btw. ... sorry for my bad english

this is not a SAPGUI question.

  • Sharing SLD and Exchange Profile Settings

    Hi
We have a  Development system (DXI and  and the SLD is hosted on DXI.
Now we are trying to install a fresh Development system (UXI) which will use/share the same SLD hosted on DXI.  We did a system copy of DXI and then changing the exchange profile settings of UXI  (Host etc) to point to correct system also changes the Exchange profile parameters of DXI system.
Somehow both the exchange profile settings of two systems are linked and changing one changes the another one with the same settings, thus starting repository, Configuration of DXI actually leads to another UXI system and Vice versa on changing exchange profile settings.
Any inputs how to keep exchange profile settings segeregated will be helpful as both the system have their own box/host and only SLD is shared which is on DXI.
    Best Regards
    Swetank

  • Can't install configuration profile using iPhone Config Utility 3.5 and iPad iOS 5.1

Sorry for the long title, but...
I had a certificate expire in my configuration profile (that allows access to the Enterprise WiFi network). In the past, that means I go fetch a new certificate, install it into the configuration profile, attach the device to the computer via USB, and download that to the device. It's all good.
With iCU 3.5 and iOS 5.1, that all works fine until the last step. I hit the install button - nothing happens. Zilch. Nada, Zero. I happen to be a developer as well, so I have Xcode open and am watching the device console. Absolutely nothing happens on the device console.
What am I doing wrong? I can't believe that this is broken, and if it is broken I'm the first person to trip on it, so what's up?
(I did workaround this problem by exporting and sharing the configuration via email to the device and installing it from the attachment. That part still seems to work, and the profile itself also seems to work. The problem seems to be with iCU and downloading profiles.)
    Thanks for your help.

I ran into same problem. I think ithis might be your problem . This fixed mine I had settings already set and tried to install on new ipad and wouldn't work wouldn't do anything just set there I hit install and never did nothing. What I did was del the settings for configuration and re set them all over again and boom it's worked it works fine for me now. Hope this helps

  • Configuring the default configuration profile for Profile Manager

    Hello folks,
I would like to edit the default configuration profile served by Profile Manger. As far as I understand the only thing I can configure from the Server.app is the name of the profile. The settings for the different services provided by the server (such Mail, Messages, etc.) are automatically chosen by Server.app. When logging as an administrator on the Profile Manager webapp, I can go to "Groups", choose "Everyone", go to "Settings" to review the different payloads. However, almost none of the settings are editable. You can read "This payload is configured using the Server app" on the top of the various panels.
So my question is: How do you use Server to tweek those payloads? Can this be done using the serveradmin command line tool?
Thank you very much for your help.
    Regards

Bump. This is annoying the crap out of me. Every time I try to design a website using Coda, this color picker bug plagues me. I just wish I could turn off color profiles completely as I will never use them.
