Configuring remote XE Database from Jdeveloper

Hi
How can I configure a remote Oracle XE from Jdeveloper which is in my maschine.
I am using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4.0

What do you mean "configure a remote Oracle XE"? What do you want to configure? You can certainly create a connection to that database in JDeveloper, and in the SQL Worksheet you can do pretty much anything that you can do in SQL or PL/SQL. You can also use the UML modelling tools against that database.

Need help connecting a remote MySql database from Iphone

Hi, i need to connect to a remote MySql DataBase in windows from IPhone but..... i'm a noob with Xcode and Objective-C.
Can someone help me or explain me the way to do it plz?

I do not think MCPKit will help you on the iPhone. It is just an Objective-C wrapper around the standard mysql libraries which are not available for the iPhone. Your best bet would be to post on the mysql forums and see if you can get any help.
You can try extracting the mysql client library source code into a separate static library project, and see if you can get it to build for the iPhone.

Deploy Java class to database from jDeveloper

In 10g version I could create a deployment profile for deploying java class directly to the database from within jdeveloper. Looks like when you create a deployment profile in 11g that is no longer an option. Has the process changed, or was that functionality flat out removed?

Unable to Connect to Oracle 10gR1 database from JDeveloper 11g using OCI

We are migrating our application from OC4J to Weblogic server. As a part, I am trying to create a database connection in JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.3.0 - Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660) to Oracle 10gR1 database. Previously I had Oracle 10g Client installed in the machine. Created a database connection using OCI driver and when I try to test connect, I got "Test Failed: no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path". I searched through Metalink and forums and one suggestion was to install Oracle 11g Client on the machine where Jdeveloper 11g is installed. I installed 11g R1 client and tried the same test connection using OCI driver. Now I am getting "Test failed: ORA-12705: Cannot access NLS data files or invalid environment specified" error.
The same database connection works good with Thin driver with both Oracle 10g client and 11gR1 client.
Previously I had Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2 and Oracle 10g Client and I was able to connect to database without any errors.
Could you provide me the steps for this or if I missed any steps?
Steps to Replicate:

2) Install Oracle 10g Client on the same machine

I also have PLSql developer installed on my machine and it works well.PL/SQL Developer does not use JDBC drivers, so it is not an relevant example in this case.
My generall recommendation is to use Oracle JDBC Thin drivers. Oracle claimed that OCI drivers had better performance, but this was really true about earlier releases. Current Oracle 11g JDBC Thin drivers offer excellent performance and they offer all the features of the OCI versions (which was not true about earlier releases). In my opinion, the most important disadvantage of Oracle JDBC OCI drivers is that most versions have native memory leaks so all the RAM would get consumed after long application execution. i am trying to configure a standby database from non ASM file system to ASM file system.
my primary database having datafiles in /u02,/u03,/u04 etc, and my Standby database having filesystem in ASM diskgroup DATA.

Insert into remote Oracle DB from Excel spreadsheet

We currently have a Full Oracle database ( PROD ) which I can remotely link to with a version of Oracle Express on my desktop. Also, I can successfully link to an Excel spreadsheet. I am able to insert into a table on the Oracle Express database from the Excel link, and I can also insert to the PROD database from the Oracle Express database.
However, when I try to insert rows into the remote PROD database from Excel, I get the following error.
"Problem ORA-02019 connection discription for remote database not found ORA-02063; preceding line from XE ORA-02063 preceding 2 lines from PROD"
The syntax that I am trying to use is:
"Insert into temp@prod
select * from Sheet1$@excel"
The above syntax works very well to insert rows on the Oracle Express database from Excel, but is creating the error when trying to insert to a remote Oracle database.
Is this solvable? Any advice is appreciated.

After installing the reportservice/database i cannot use the Configuration Manager Console 2012 anymore with my own AD account. (The accounts of my colleagues are stil working)
When i login i get the following message:

the Windows Server Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) Remote Activation permission for the computer running the Configuration Manager site server and the SMS Provider.
I checked the following:
I am a administrative user in SCCM (Full Administrator)
I am a member of the administrator group on the server
Deleted HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ConfigMgr10
I tried to start it on multiple workstations and deleted my roaming profile
Any more suggestions?

DBACockpit Configuration - Remote Database backup of Java Stack.

I am configuring remote database backup of my SAP Java stack system.
I have successfully connected the system in dbacockpit. I have gateway installed also on the remote host system. but Database scheduling on DB13 failed.
On the OS of CEN system, I can connect to the host system of the remote using the OPS$ logon and i.e
sqlplus /@SID as sysdba - (It connected, to confirm i querried the v$instance I was also able to shutdown the remote system)

This is a TNS error. The system is not able to connect TNS by using br*tools.
Firstly, check your environment variables. They should be as same as java system environmnt variables.
Secondly, check the link below;
[BR0301W SQL error -1017;
You need to create a synonym and SAPUSER table for the gateway installation <sid>adm user on Java database. By doing so, br*tools will be able to connect to the java database.

I am trying to connect to oracle database 10.1.0.2.0 from jdeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 to develop an ADF application.
But it is giving me the error
Test failed: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
connection type:oracle(JDBC)
Role :SYSDBA
Driver:thin
Host:localhost
JDBC port:1521
SID:webaid
I am able to connect to the database using SQL*Plus with the same credentials.
Any help is appreciated!

Problem migrating database diagram from JDeveloper 10 to Jdeveloper 11

Hi List,
I have database diagrams created by use of JDeveloper 10 (files *.oxd_db), but (after automatic migration) they are not displayed as diafram in JDeveloper 11 (they are displayed as xml).
If I create new diagrams from JDeveloper 10 I get *.db_diagram files.
Anybody knows how to migrate JDeveloper 10 diagrams to JDeveloper 11?...

Unable to connect to database when running from JDeveloper

When I open a report in Reports Builder , and enter the database connection parameters, everything works fine. When I run my web application from JDeveloper (9.0.5.1), and I tried to run a report, I get this error:
Rep-501 : Unable to connect to the specified database.
I have ran tnsping, and it works fine. My tnsnames.ora file looks like this :

There are several emulators available.
cygwin is an open source (http://x.cygwin.com/) .
microimages (http://www.microimages.com ) is another option. Like I mentioned before, if you know the sequence of steps, creating the database manually is another simple option.
