Confirmation requested - I can't have a header which changes per page?

Hi,
Could just do with someone confirming that I am right in this scenario:
- Building a small webapp using Spring, JSF, hibernate ... (isn't everyone!?)
- Trying to be all 'modular' and want to have a header include which contains top graphics, nav etc.
- Top nav needs to be different depending on what page we are currently viewing
For example, making the nav of the page you are currently on appears as bold and is not clickable etc. etc. In other words, the top nav varies depending on the page we are on.
As far as I can see there is no way to do this in plain JSF??
- You can't send params to includes giving 'current page' info
- Can't see any components that will do the trick
I would, of course, be grateful just for someone saying "yes, you're right, you can't do it", but if there is something I'm missing and I should be doing this another way, then please, pretty please, please with sugar on top let me know. Surely it must be possible somehow...
Best,
James.

Also the knowledge that EL supports conditional expressions may help much in this. E.g.
<h:outputLink value="page1" styleClass="#{myBean.page1 ? 'bold' : 'normal'}" />and so on.

  • Can I have a header on the first page only in pages?

I only want to have a header on the first page in Pages, not the other pages my work spills over onto. I have tried checking and unchecking the 'node on first page section' which sort of worked when I selected the headers on the pages i did not want but I have now lost the header on the first page.

    I have just solved it!
When you have entered the header information on the first page you then click on the header on the second page and select 'start new header/footer here' which you can then delete the information and leave blank thus leaving every subsequent page blank.

  • Can you have more than one movie per page?

Hi, I am creating a web site and have some movie content on some of the pages. Can you have more than one quicktime file on each page? Reason I ask is that on one page I have put 3 movie files but only one shows up when I run the site online. I am not using .mac. The website is on grapeape dot co dot uk and if you look at the examples page you should see what I mean. I get one video that works and 2 large "Q"'s where the other videos were. Odd because it works locally. Any ideas? Many thanks.
    Ben

Just noticed something. If you leave it until the first movie caches or preloads - the second one appears. Is there a way round this at all? Thanks. Ben

  • I have just updated to Pages 5.1 and now the templares which I have saved do not displat the header and footer which they were saved with in the previous version.  How can I have the header and footer included when I open a template?

I have just updated to Pages 5.1 and now the templares which I have saved do not displat the header and footer which they were saved with in the previous version.  How can I have the header and footer included when I open a template?

That is becuase Pages 5.1 has numerous unnounced surprises for the unwary user.  Among the surprises:
    - it strips out images from headers and footers without warning
    - it strips out bookmarks without wanring (yes, all those bookamrks you laboriously put into a document: poof! Gone.)
    - it strips out alternating left/right margins, without warning.
There are many more suprises, as you'll see from glancing through these discussions. They fall into two main categories: things that are present in version 4.3 but that are missing in 5.1, things like
    -mail merge
    -meaningful Applescript/Services support
    -non-contiguous text selection
    -ability to set defaul zoom
-ability to see comments while editing
    -ability to print comments
    -ability to read RTF files
-ability to drag in hyperlinked ted from a browser
These about about 90 other features are gone.
Then there are the bugs.  Hyperlinks do not reliably export to a PDF file any longer. There have been multiple problems with printing report. Some fonts place stray characters in the headers.  Many reports of the program crashing, courrupting files, etc.
Fortunately for you, the previous version of Pages is still on your system.  Export any documents you may have created or edited with Pages 5.1 (another great surprise: files created with version 5.1 cannot be read by any previous version of Pages: not just 4.3 but even 5.01!).  Then trash 5.1 and use 4.3 until (unless?) it is stable and has a reasonably robust feature set.

Actually it isn't Alt-Tab on OS X, it's Command-Tab to use the Application Switcher.
Also, Control+ left/right arrow key will switch spaces if that's what's desired.

I have a iPad 3, just over one year, can I have a chance to change a new version iPad? By paying some additional money?

This is something that you'd need to discuss with Apple, I've heard them doing this with iPhones in the US, but not here in the UK or anywhere else and not with iPads either, but as I say, check with Apple directly as a lot of these things are location dependent.

  • How can I have Safari save my opened web pages when I quit so that when I open next time they will be there?

How can I have Safari save my opened web pages when I quit so that when I open next time they will be there? I can do that in Firefox automatically, but can't seem to find how to do it in Safari.  I'm thinking maybe it's just now possible yet?

From your Safari menu bar click History / Reopen All Windows from Last Session.
    Or..
Glims can  re open tabs from a previous session if that helps.

Compatible with Snow Leopard v10.6 and Safari 5+ and it's free.

  • When my desktop (Mac Power 5) starts a folder comes up with 2 heads which changes to a question mark. Does anyone know how to fix this.?

My Husband turned his desktop off without shutting down now When my desktop (Mac Power G5) starts up  a folder comes up with 2 heads which changes to a question mark. Does anyone know how to fix this.?

Step 1- Try booting to Startup Manager by holding Option/Alt key.
Select the boot source and click the right arrow.
Once booted, open System Preferences and select the desired boot volume.
Replacing the PRAM battery is likely wise if the machine keeps forgetting it's boot source.
    If that doesn't work,
Step 2-  Boot holding a mouse click, insert the OS X install disc and hold C to boot to the install disc.
Once booted, open Disk Utility and "Repair Disk" on the boot drive.
    Once done, reboot normally.

  • Good morning, I have an Apple Mac Id, now never receive emails confirming purchases.  Can someone kindly explain how to change my Id.

Good morning,  I have an array of mac products and a very old .mac address which is also an email address.  Since the changeover to iCloud, I no longer get a confirmation email for any purchases.
    Can anyone help please?

Changing your Apple ID or creating a new one can cause problems in iTunes, the App Store, and anywhere you used your old Apple ID. I unfortunately have two Apple ID's (thanks Apple)  and I have to remember which one to use where - pain in the neck.
If you still want to change it, click on the link below and use the Manage tab.

  • Can I have both facing and non-facing pages in a document?

I am trying to assemble a booklet with 11x17 spreads - some of these will be two facing 8.5x11 pages, but others will be a single 11x17 image, and would be better to treat them as a one page spread. We will be producing a hardcopy and an electronic version. The hastily sketched image below shows what I'm looking for. In the PDF version, the pages would be oriented as shown. In the booklet, the large images would be rotated to fit into the 8.5x11 booklet and viewed centerfold style.
Is this a thing I can accomplish in one InDesign document, or will I need to produce separate versions for the digital & print editions?
    Thanks!!

For the print version I would set up as an ordinary 8.5 x 11 facing pages file, and rotate the spread view for the pages that you need to see as 11 x 17 verticals, but you're going to need a second PDF for  the electronic version if you want to export spreads. I'd give exporting as PDF (Interactive) a try -- spreads is the default, and rotate the occasional page in Acrobat before distribution. That will give you spreads for everything, though, so if you want to have individual 8.5 x 11 pages, you'll need to export multiple PDFs, specifying ranges, with spreads selected or deselected, then combine them all into a single PDF in Acrobat for distribution.

  • How can I edit the head section of a page made from a template?

Humm,  I made a page from a template but now I cannot modify the <head> section...  I will need to add some HTML to the head section that will be different for at least this one specific page...

Be aware that you CANNOT use the DW UI to add an editable region to the head. A properly made DW template always contains two editable regions in the head of the template: "doctitle" and "head".  If you do not have those, then as Nancy says, you will need to add them.
To add an editable region to the head of your template page, just copy this and paste it in to some legal place in the head of the page (like immediately above </head>).
    <!--TemplateBeginEditable name="whatever"-->
    <!--TemplateEndEditable-->
    Change the name as needed.

  • Can you display 4 addresses from database per page from Excel?

    ok, to be more specific...
I have a 4.25 x 5.5 postcard that I want to print 4 to a page.  I also have an Excel database with mailing address.  Im well aware how to have addresses print into my document doing a mail merge but Im only aware of this working with one address per page.  What Im doing is 4 different addresses per page.  Is this possible?

Thanks, this will be VERY handy in the future!  Mail merge programs are such a ******* pain but ID makes it a heck of a lot easier!
One more question, I tried a test with a 5.5 x 4.25 card with address fields in the middle.  I dropped it on the top left of an 8.5 x 11 layout and told it in the options to not resize anything.  I ran the merge and it did put 4 different address for each page on about 5 pages.  That is exactly what I wanted.  It was giving me a message when I did it this way or when I was practicing and doing it wrong that I didnt understand what it meant, "No overset text was generated when merging records".  Everything seemed to work properly so what does this mean?

  • How can you have two link styles on one page?

I have one style (formatted link style) for internal links in
my footer but I want a different style for the external links in my
mainContent. Is it possible to have two different "styles" of links
on one page? I tried creating a new set for the mainContent links
and being positioned underneath my footer link's styles, the "new"
mainContent link styles overrode the footer link style. Is there
another way of going about this?

  • Can I have more than one iphone per email account?

When my son got his iphone 4s I used my email address since he didnt have one yet.  I have since gotten an Iphone 4s also, but when I went to activate it I had to put it under another email account, since mine was used for my sons iphone, so I used my husbands.  My husband now has an iphone on order and I was wondering if there was a way of having more than one phone per email account?

I would set up a new email for him.  That will give you a new icloud account.  Also any apps that he downloaded with your ID will forever be linked to that ID and can only be updated with that ID.  If that is a problem then you might delete those apps and download them again with the new ID ( and if they were paid apps you need to pay again)
