Conflict bet. Limiter, Enhancements

Hi
I've been looking for an answer to the Limiter filter not working as I thought it should, not like it does with SoundTrack Pro.
Just applying the limiter filter seems to dampen the audio, including quiet audio, and even before making changes. Very odd.
But in this discussion I'm curious for insight into whether there is a conflict between the Limiter filter and the Audio Enhancements (particularly the Equalization options like Voice Enhance, and on the Audio Analysis page, the Loudness option.
Do they conflict in any way?
Is there an order one should work with the 3? Ex.: 1st—Limiter, 2nd—Equalization options like Voice Enhance and 3rd—Loudness. Or is another order correct.

What I ultimately want to do is somehow default reader x to open pdf files online, then save them and open with acrobat 8 to edit.
I have made progress on this issue. but first a little background. The company im serving uses leedonline.com, the system reqs of the site are adobe 9 or above. What was previously done in the past was to use a virtual pc to download the pdf, then use their acrobat 8 program to edit on their actual computer. The issue is that they have acrobat 8 and do not want to upgrade. In terms of getting reader x and acrobat 8 to coexist I have made a little progress
i have changed the following registry values to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe":
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
I believe that I have missed a few registry values because i am getting the error "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. If it is running, please exit and try again. (1014:1014)." Which in my mind is progress because previously it would default to acrobat.
What to you  guys think?

  • Qt3-enhanced conflicts with qt3 though I have no qt3

    Hi,
I'm trying to install KDEMod, after a clean installation of Arch.

But i searched my system, there is no qt3 or kde related stuff installed:
    # pacman -Q | grep qt
    # pacman -Q | grep kde
    both return nothing.
    How do I solve this?
    Thank you
PS: I previously install opera-static. But nothing changes after i removed it.

  • Qt-enhanced conflicts

I am trying to do a system upgrade, but as I have kdemod rather than kde, i use qt-enhanced. Pacman tries to install qt but complains that qt-enhanced is there. I cant seem to work out what is should do so that i can upgrade. Here is the output from pacman:
    [root@wensleydale ~]# pacman -Syu

    :: qt: conflicts with qt-enhanced
I am rather new to arch linux, so any help would be appreciated.

I am still getting issues, I upgraded pacman today....
    [tyler@hell ~]$ sudo pacman -Sudf
    :: Starting full system upgrade...

    error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
    :: qt-enhanced: conflicts with qt3
    [tyler@hell ~]$
Shouldent using the "d" & "f" options allow me to bypass this (no dependancy checks and force install?) or does the "u" option (sysupgrade) conflict with the "d" & "f" options?
    Thanks.

  • "How to" document for enhancement spots

    Hi,
I am familiar with BADI implementations, but I am not so familiar with enhancement spots, and how "New BADI" instances are created from them.
Does anyone know where i can find more information on this topic so I can understand better how enhancement spots work.
    Thanks

  • Are graphics larger than 300x300 possible in GarageBand enhanced podcasts?

I would like to migrate away from Podcast Maker and start using GarageBand. However, as far as I can tell, GarageBand limits enhanced podcast graphics to 300x300 pixels. This is not even nice on modern iPods. Is there a hack to make larger graphics possible? I am looking for at least 640x480 which is possible with Podcast Maker. The button to not force graphics to 300x300 seems non-functional as graphics end up at this size regardless of the status of that check-box.
    Thank you,
    Roger

I used to have the setting on my iPod set to have the backlit display on during our graphically enhanced podcast too. The only problem, and the reason I switched it back, was that it causes the battery to go down a lot faster. So that is something to consider too. But as far as I know, the user has to change that setting themselves.

    $ ktorrent
ktorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libqt-mt.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Same problem applies for dolphin and k3b.
These apps worked fine just recently. I used dolphin earlier "on this boot". But I'm unable to launch it after this upgrade.
I'm not using kdemod. It seems to me like the qt4 upgrade broke qt3. And thus broke much of kde.
    pacman -S extra/qt community/qt4
    Solved it for me.

  • IMac Late 2006-Upgrading RAM

Hey everyone! This may sound like a really dumb question but I figured I'd ask anyway because I am not sure what to do. I am considering upgrading the RAM on my late 2006 20 inch iMac which I purchased in April 2007 so that I can instal Mac OS X Lion (it is already purchased for my macbook pro so I figured why not). Currently, it has what it came installed with which is 1GB of memory. When I first noticed this I figured I could just install an extra 1GB of memory to make 2GB and I would be good. However, it has come to my attention that the iMac (to the best of my knowledge) has 2 memory slots and that each one is filled with 512MB of RAM. Therefore, I would need to purchase TWO 1GB modules and replace both 512MB modules. So I have a few questions:
First, is this correct so far? I would need to buy 2 1GB modules and replace 2 512MB modules? If I only need to buy one please let me know and correct me.
Second, what can I do with the extra 1GB of RAM? If I have to replace the 512 MB modules what can I do with them once they are replaced? I don't really want to sell them and they are in perfectly good condition so is there anything I can use them for?
Thank you so much for reading.

First, is this correct so far? I would need to buy 2 1GB modules and replace 2 512MB modules? If I only need to buy one please let me know and correct me.
Yes you will need to replace both DIMMs curently installed. If your machine has the ability to go beyond 2GB I would definetely max out the RAM, your machine will run much better therefore enhancing your experience.
Second, what can I do with the extra 1GB of RAM? If I have to replace the 512 MB modules what can I do with them once they are replaced? I don't really want to sell them and they are in perfectly good condition so is there anything I can use them for?
Probably not, you can donate them or take them to your local Best Buy for recycling.

  • AE CS4 on OSX 10.5 Very Slow, Makes System Unresponsive

This is very frustrating, our company has been fighting this problem since we upgraded.  I work for a major broadcaster which uses AE for all our motion graphics work.  Since upgrading to CS4 we've experienced a team wide decrease in productivity.  AE CS4 renders slower than CS3 and in some cases will completely lock up the computer when rendering, making it impossible to do any sort of simple multitasking.  Even switching to the Finder and moving around windows is very slow.  Let alone try to use Safari or type into a TextEdit document.  We've tried everything, but details first.
We're running on last-gen 8-core 3.2GHz Mac Pro's.  Each has 10GB of ram and 1TB of HD space (mostly empty).  NVidia GeForce 8800 GT video card.  Runing AE 9.0.2.42)
We realize that 10GB is not enough ram to use all 8 processors at full speed.  So AE is set to use multiprocessing with a max of 3 cores with 2GB minimum with 2 GB in reserve for other applications.  All the work we do is with HD footage.  All footage is delivered in Apple Prores.  Any comp of medium or greater complexity will completely slow down the system.  When comparing CS3 rendering time to CS4, CS4 seems about 30-40% slower. When rendering CS4 will also completely lock up the system, switching windows is a complete pain.  We've tried turing on and off OpenGL in AE, but no change.  We're tried every combination of settings we can think of.   Rendering without multiprocessing is even slower and still locks up the system. Also in Activity Monitor is will often show only limited CPU useage (see attached screen).  You can see I'm running multiple aeselflink instances, but each one is no where near 100 and the system is still unresponsive!
Outside of rendering CS4 also is much more unresponsive when just working (not rendering).  Moving clips around in the composition window and navigating the timeline are sometimes a chore, with lots of 1-2 second delays before taking the action.  Or slow screen updates.
Any ideas what is happening here?  If is something with the change from 32-bit to 64-bit.  Will more ram fix it or is there something else going on?  This is becoming a very frustrating situations where we have to completely restart the computer and make sure no other apps are running before even trying to render our anything.  CS3 did not seem to have these problems, even with multiprocessing turned on at it's default settings.  We like many of the new features in CS4 and are practically required to use it because we get a lot of projects from vendors, but it's proving very slow to work in.

I don't know how complex your comps are, but our are usually pretty complex.  Simple comps with just text and 1-2 layers of video usually go pretty quick, but as soon as you ramp up complexity it slows way down.  I somehow don't think that our graphics card is the problem.  Most of the plugins we use do not see any benefit from OpenGL and we don't use that many 3D layers.  In general we haven't seen a big boost in AE performance with OpenGL on or off.  All our footage sits on a super fast Terrablock system with at least 300-400mb/s sequential read speeds.  Then again it could be that AE just runs poorly on Macs.
Adolfo - we have done some quite extensive benchmarks with all our machines here.  Configuring both 10GB and 16GB versions (we have not tried higher memory yet).  We tested the same comp in both CS3 and CS$ with various multiprocessor settings.  Our test file's complexity was indicative of the kind of projects we do.  Around 30 layers, a mix of TGA sequences with alpha, QuickTimes with alpha (animation) and ProRes footage.  Many layers with ReelSmart Motion Blur.  A Knoll Light Factory lens flare.  A mix of layers with various blurs and color correction and some transfer modes.
As you can see CS3 was much, much quicker at rendering the project.  In some cases almost twice as fast as CS4.  Also, strangely CS3 ran better limited to 4 processors in both the 10GB and 16GB configurations.

  • Best way to join information from two datasources??? pls help

Guys Please help in understanding the basics of modelling in terms of best practises in SAP-BI
I have two datasources. One is standard Bussiness content datasources 2LIS_02_ITM ( having PO item level data)  and the other is a generic datasource on table EBAN (having PR details). Now all my report requirements are on both PO and PR information. So i need to club these datasources or its corresponding DSO's  or its corresponding cubes.
Please suggest the best of the following solutions:
    solution 1 and 2
    2LIS_02_ITM -
    > DSO1 -
    > PO cube
    Gener Datasourceon EBAN -
    > DSO2----
    > PR Cube
solution one is to go and build multiprovider joining with PR no in either cubes
solution two is to go and build infoset joining with PR no in either cubes
    solution 3
    2LIS_02_ITM -
    > DSO1 -
    > cube
    Gener Datasourceon EBAN -
    > DSO2
while populating data from DSO1 to cube we lookup on to DSO2 and read the PR data , thus consolidating both PR and PO data in the cube
    solution 4
Here i can plan to combine two datasources 2LIS_02_ITM ,Gener Datasourceon EBAN into one infosource.
    (2LIS_02_ITM ,Gener Datasource on EBAN)---->infosource->DSO-->cube
    solution 5
i can club both PO and PR information at the  r/3 side only into a  view and build a  generic datasource on that... then bring the whole data into one DSO and cube and report on that....
Please do help me guys.... i will award points to all who adds some imp information.

    Hello Venkata
    We use approach
1/2 when we have different data comming fromsource and data amount is huge and lot of transformation is there
3 You can use this approach here but lookup in other ODS is also time consuming also any changes which may be done in future wouldd need corresponding changes in the ODS
    4. We should always use infosource even if BI/7 as it provides very much flexibility and scalability...but when u r combining these two DS you need to make sure u r extracting proper record
I dont know if you are talking abt extractor enhancement in this point...i would suggest if no. of field to be enhanced is less than u can go for it...
    5. IOfcourse u can create a view but its better to enhance extractor becuae SAP has already provided DS for 2LIS_02_ITM...
We have done the same thing but we were having only 7-8 PR fields ...so we just enhanced the structure.......
    Thanks

  • Firfox uses too much system resource. When idle it uses around 20% CPU and more than 500 mb each of real and virtual memory. Safarai uses 0% CPU and less than 100mb real and less than 200 mb virtual memory.

It causes my macbook pro 15" to get hot.

the very problematic plugin-cointainer is the cause of all this! i assume you may be open web page that contain flash right? high system resource slowing your browsing capabilities (click, tab, openpage, slowresponse, etc)
it is very common problem in windows. you can read it in here under Known Issues->http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.6.15/releasenotes/
+Some slower machines may see degraded mouse responsiveness when viewing certain Flash videos
This PROBABLY can happen in your macosx too. Im not sure for that.
I also try firefox in Ubuntu, and suprisely it smoothly open flash video and playing FB Poker at the same time wo performance degradation .
i cant give any solution for this unless they came out with better and enhanced performance of firefox for all systems.

  • Edit photo in iPhoto before using in iMovie, or not?

Is it better to enhance a photo in iPhoto (edit mode) before using the photo in iMovie; or would the quality from using "auto" in video adjust in iMovie (on an unedited photo) work just as well?

I did the test with 16 photos (2 different cameras: iPhone and Lumix LX5). I auto-enhanced each photo using iMovie and iPhoto. I exported the movie as an M4V file and played it on my macbook pro using quicktime.
Results: a very mixed bag. In general, the iMovie auto-enhance yields more vivid and contrasty photos with less detail. The iPhoto ones (same photo) sometimes appear a bit washed out, but generally have more detail.  The problem is some look better when done in iMovie and some look better when done in iPhoto.  For most, it does not make a lot of difference, so I guess I will go with iPhoto and add other effects in iMovie.
iPhoto will allow me to straighten a photo, and iMovie won't.  I do not crop photos using iPhoto because the iMovie cropping (with Ken Burns effect as an option) gives me a lot more flexibility.
    For what it's worth.

  • File sharing between macs oddly not working

I'm trying to share folders between two macs running Lion (at work so sharing is important) but the one computer doesn't connect.
    The problem.
Mac1 is set up to share and appears in the shared list on Mac2.
When Mac2 tries to connect to Mac1, I have a Connection Failed with a pop up that reads
"There was a problem connecting to the server " 'Users' iMac".
Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If
you continue to have problems, contact your system administrator."
Mac1 can actually connect to the shared folders on Mac2 so there only seems to be a conflict 1 way..
I don't have any other alerts throughout the system that relates to IP address and Mac1's name is correct.
Really puzzled. My knowledge of IP address and problems with IP conflicts is limited so I'm not sure how to get things to work..
    Hope you can help.

  • Questions (lots!): OS9.2 onto a G4 w/10.3.9

I'm sure what I'm looking for is redundant but I looked through the questions for over an hour and can't quite figure out the best answer to my problem. Please.....take a seat. This is gonna take a while - I have a lot of questions and at this time am very confused. First, I'll begin with some very recent history:
A few weeks ago, while attempting to list an auction on a certain, on-line auction sight, I discovered that the "new & improved" listing page no longer supports OS9 (no "browse" button appears on the "add pictures" page). That issue coupled with the growing inability to view many websites to their maximum, I finally broke down & purchased a good, used G4 with a 10.3.9 operating system already installed (no discs for that system were included). The original G4 three disc package, however, was included, (Power Mac Software Install Disc-SSW version 9.1, Software Restore Disc and Hardware Test Disc).
I just got the machine up & running this evening and have only been using it for a few hours; just long enough to discover that getting all my current software into it is going to be much more challenging than I might have imagined. The manual for the G4 says it can be done via ethernet or firewire (I have no idea what firwire even is!) I need to go about this as cheaply as possible because after buying the new computer, I'm about out of funds.
Some more facts which might be helpful:
**I can't burn a CD of my other operating system because I don't know how (I have an external Sony Spressa CD burner which came with my G3 iMac when I bought it (used) but I've never been able to get it to work. (I can't leave the program file in my extentions folder or it causes really strange things to happen like noises & freezing up!)
**The person I bought my new computer from said the original discs for the G4 would override the OS 10.3.9 Can I install just the 9.1 portion or will I lose everything like she said?
**Some of the Programs I want to install because I can't live without them: Photoshop LE, Quark Xpress, Kodak Camera Software (I have installation discs for all of these). Adobe Illustator & Microsoft word for Mac (no installation discs for these), oh, and how could I forget Simpletext!
**Hundreds of photos & documents created using previously mentioned programs
Could I or should I try to network the two machines? Would that be better because of the shear volume of stuff to transfer?
Could I use the install discs from the old iMac? I think they are only 8.2, though.
If I put everything onto the G4, will I be able to have a separate desktop icon to open OS9 from?
Will I be able to flop back & forth between the two without a lot of trouble? ei: List auction with 10.3.9 using pictures edited & stored in Photoshop in 9.2?
    Some Comments:
I like the new machine so far for internet navigation & speed (and no more "chewing noises"!!!) but a few things I don't like: I hate not having the trash can right on the desktop. Also, I really miss not having the column on the upper right (where your open programs were listed) and how am I going to live without an APPLE MENU ITEMS?!!!! Oh, wo is me!.
I love Mac but I wish they would get some place and stay there. It's getting frustrating (& expensive) with all the changes that have happened. Keeping up with mac is starting to be like keeping up with video game machines. (A new one every couple of years that makes the old one obsolete to the tune of hundreds.) I hope they don't get any more PC-like, either. When their mouse starts to have two buttons, it's all over!!!
It's scary reading the problems some were posting about the new Intel machines and classic programs. I'm already fearing the day when a non-Intel mac becomes obsolete. At the rate I'm going, that might be next year!!!
Well, sorry, this is so long but I wanted to give as much info as I could (oh, and some comments!!). Anyway, thank you for any help and/or best advise in advance and in closing something to make you smile (I hope!)......
Mac is so much better, limitations and all
The idea of going PC makes my skin crawl......

Hi, noopysma. There are, as you've guessed, a lot of things to learn about using OS X that will take some getting used to. You've successfully put off learning any of them for about six years since OS X was introduced (just as I did for about 3-1/2 years), and now you're up against it.
The first thing to understand is that you're using a pirated copy of OS X 10.3.9. Because you didn't get the installation discs for it, you don't have a legal right to use it. You should buy your own retail Panther installer disc set. Doing so will both make you right with the law and enable you to troubleshoot and repair various minor problems that may arise, and to reinstall the OS should that become necessary at any time.
Your G4 can still start up from the OS 9.1 CD that originally came with it, assuming you were given the right original installer discs with the computer. Ignore answers #1 and #3 from julien2992 above; they're incorrect. Start up from the "Power Mac Software Install Disc-SSW version 9.1" (holding down the "c" key as usual to force the CD to be the startup disc). After startup is complete, you should find an "Install OS 9.1" icon on the CD. Double-click that to open the installer. Now: are you able to select the G4's internal hard drive as the target for the installation? If so, wonderful. Select the drive and proceed to install OS 9 using the Clean Install option. Be sure to read this article first. It will be reassuring to you:
Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9: Performing a Clean Installation
The reason to use the Clean Install option is that you probably don't know whether any remnants of a previous OS 9 installation may be present on the hard drive, and you don't want them to be used if they are. The Clean Install option will cause them to be disabled and sequestered, and a pristine new System Folder to be installed.
If you're able to go ahead and perform a Clean Install of OS 9, you'll then be able to select OS 9 as the startup OS in the Startup Disk control panel, before quitting the installer. Restart the Mac from its hard drive in OS 9.1, and you will then be able to apply the downloadable updates to 9.2.1 and 9.2.2.
Once you've done that, you'll be able to start the G4 in either OS 9 or OS X from its hard drive, and you'll also be able to run OS 9-based applications in Classic mode when the computer has been started up in OS X. (The first time you open a Classic application in OS X, OS X will probably inform you that some Classic components need to be downloaded and/or updated. Go ahead and okay that. Afterward, your Classic apps should open up and run in Classic without any further interruptions.
If you can't see the hard drive to select it as the target for the OS 9.1 installation, the hard disk driver for OS 9 was not installed when OS X was installed by the previous owner, and you'll have to use Drive Setup to reformat (erase) the hard drive — wiping out the installed OS X 10.3.9 and everything else on it — to install the OS 9 driver. This may be the first of many occasions when you'll need your own OS X installer discs, because you'll have to reinstall OS X if that's the case.
Any OS 9-based applications for which you have the original installer CDs should be installed from scratch using those CDs, not copied form your old Mac. Applications for which you have no installer CDs may be problematical: if you never had the CDs, your copies of the apps are, like your OS X, pirated and illegal, and it may not be possible to copy them from one drive to another and have them continue to function. If you did have the CDs once but you've lost them, you will at the least need to re-enter your serial/registration/activation number for each app when prompted, after copying the app to the new machine's hard drive.
This should be more than enough to keep you occupied for a while. Post back to let us know how you're progressing.

  • Multiple DAQs in one vi

    Hi.
I want to aquire data from 4 separate DAQs in one.vi (at 0.5 sec)
How can i do this, easier ?
Of course, i tried 4 DAQ asistants, but it is not working ( Error 50103. it says that the specified resource is reserved.)
how can i do 4 separate tasks and read analog voltages from each DAQ ?
    Thanks.

I think using daq mx modules, i avoid conflicts and limited resources when using daqs like in this case. ( Or not ?) This is why  i want use daq mx modules.
Ok, I think you wanna say, instead of using DAQ Assistant, you want to use low level functions using DAQmx VIs... Thats definitely a good idea.
Well the code that you had attached, has issues.
In you code you're trying to.
    1. Use an existing global task.
    2. Add few more physical channels to that task.
    3. Trying to just one sample from one channel... and this will throw an error ( -200523).
    Coming back to same question.

    Well answer two simple questions:
    1. How many DAQ devices & what model are avilable (connected) with your computer.
    2. How many channels from each DAQ device, you're planning to use (for acqusition of various signals)
And if you want to start exploring the DAQmx functions, refer to this link.
