Confused about Apple IDs used at the store

For the last several years I have been a MobileMe paid subscriber.  When I upgraded to Lion, I migrated my @me.com email to iCloud.  My current iTunes store account uses a @bellsouth.net email address.  I will soon be losing that because I am swapping to Charter Cable.  When I go to appleid.apple.com to try and change my id, I get the following error:
I'm confused.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot change the Apple ID name from your me.com address; that just doesn't work. You can still use it, though; I've used my mac.com ID all along though I haven't had a .Mac account in years. Just change the email address to which receipts etc. are sent and continue to use the me.com address as your ID name.
Regards.

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

  • Can you have 2 Apple IDs using the one credit card?

I'm just wondering if you're able to have 2 Apple IDs using the same credit card number? Trying to set up App Store on a new purchase with another Apple ID and whenever I put in the card number it just says for assistance contact Apple Support and it won't let me finish or go onto the next step after billing information.

  • ITUNES - Are there disadvantages to using different Apple IDs for inistalling the .app?

ITUNES - Are there disadvantages to using different Apple IDs for inistalling the .app file not overwrite the previous one at itunes?

In my opinion it is best to use one Apple ID on your computer and iPad. Using multiple IDs causes confusion.
I also suggest that each person with their own iOS device have their own unique Apple ID. On the computer create different accounts for each user so that iTunes on each account can be associated with the correct Apple ID.

  • How to find the Apple IDs used on a device?

I travel extresnively and have created muiltiple Apple IDs in order to be able to download apps that are only available in specific Apple Stores. For instance my US Apple ID won't let me download NFL Game Pass so I have an Apple ID for Singapore that I've used for that. Besides Apple IDs in a few countries I also have some apps that my sons purchased. Now I have a new app that I need for work from a European Apple Store. I downloaded it to my computer but I can't install it on my iPhone becasue it has already been authorized for 5 different Apple IDs.
    1) How can I find out which AppleIDs are authorized on a specific iPhone?
    2) How can I see a list of which apps are associated with which Apple IDs either on the iPhone or on the computer in iTunes?
    3) How can I unauthorize a specific AppleID on the phone to regain a free slot?

  • Can i have 2 Apple IDs using the same playlist from the same pc?

can i have 2 Apple IDs using the same playlist from the same pc?

Easiest way is to create separate computer logins with all your own info including your own iTunes library.
I recommend each individual not have more than one AppleID because you will have purchases on multiple accounts
You can use more than one AppleID in an iTunes library.
    AppleID/iTunes =used for purchases.
iTunes library = iTunes and all media on your computer.

How can a digital copy be used in a household with multiple apple ids, synced on the same computer?  I want to put a digital copy on my device, and on my wife's device.
    Please help.

    you're welcome.
actually, unless you take an extra step, the first opened swf will close.  if you want the 2nd to close, the initial receiving lc will send a message to sender that causes the sender to close.

  • Confused about synching multiple phones to the same computer with different content: itunes wants to erase everything??

I have had an i5 for some time, but my partner just bought one to replace her 3GS. We both synch to my itunes, and have been doing so for as long as I can recall. When we got her i5, we backed up her 3GS and reloaded the content into her i5. So far so good. Now, this couple of weeks later, I decided I wanted to put some of the movies, music, etc. that I have on my itunes library on her phone. I had previous installed some of the apps that I have there without trouble. However, when I tell my itunes to put movies (etc) onto her phone, it warns me (upon apply) that this phone has been sync'ed to another itunes, and that I can do what I am asking, but it will erase everything on the phone now! I cancelled this op at this point.
As far as I know neither of us has sync'ed her phone to any other itunes, although she has probably downloaded stuff directly into the phone using the onboard itunes. Is that what it's warning me about? Is there any way to either pull the content off the phone, or merge the content with what she had locally downloaded? If not, I'm willing to sacrifice the few things that she had locally loaded as long as it's not going to, for example, erase all her photos, and contacts, and everything else as well at the same time!
This is all rather confusing to me. It's actually rather confusing that one can synch multiple devices with different settings at all, and I'm extremely surprised that it works at all. Can someone clarify what's going on here? What I should/shouldn't do? What I can/can't do?
    Thanks in advance!

First make sure you have authorised the iTunes computer you are using for all of the associated apple ID's via the Store Menu>Authorise this computer and enter the apple ID and password used on the phone (repeat for as many apple ID's are in use on the phone).
Then right-click (or Control Click) on the name of the phone and select Transfer Purchases (this can also be found under File>Device>Transfer purchases). This will back up all of the purchases on the device to your computer, then when you sync with the phone it will put them back on even though it has just removed them.
Its a round about way of doing it but she shouldn't loose anything as long as the computer is authorised for all of the apple ID's used on the phone

  • Well, I created a new Apple ID and I put money on it, I wanted to sign into ICloud and it wouldn't let me sign in due to the usage of too many Apple IDs created. The point for logging into the ICloud was to save my photos before I reset my phone.

Well, I created a new Apple ID and I put money on it, I wanted to sign into ICloud and it wouldn't let me sign in due to making too many Apple IDs created. The point for logging into the ICloud was to save my photos before I reset my phone. Is there any way I could fix this? I also want to transfer my money because I think it's a waste to just forget about the $13.75 on my account. Thanks.

I recently created a new apple ID
    Bad idea.
Content bought with an Apple ID is forever associated with that Apple ID. Apple will not transfer content from one Apple ID to another and Apple will not merge Apple IDs. Unless you are prepared to forfeit all the previously purchased content and buy it all again with the new Apple ID, you will need to maintain the old ID to update and redownload your content.

All apps and purchases are linked to your apple ID, so you can't share them across 2 devices that are using different apple id's, it won't work. the purchases that are on your mac at the moment will only work with the apple id they were brought with.
the only thing thats possible to share is purchased music. you have to first covert it to mp3 within itunes, then your bf can import it into his own itunes library and sync with his phone.

  • HT202667 How do I combine 2 separate Apple IDs and all the iTune/iCloud purchases/data/access under one Apple ID, preferably my current one?

How do I combine everything from my deceased husband's one or more Apple IDs into my own 1 Apple ID ( preferably my current Apple ID)?  I want to maintain it all under 1 Apple ID; the data and access includes iTunes/Apps store purchases and major OS upgrade purchases, iCloud access and storage, and multiple email addresses. (I want to be able to reflect these references to his previous email addresses in my own Apple ID, if at all possible!).  Going back and forth between 2 different login/accesses on the same MacBook Pro is frustrating and confusing.
[I also need to do the same with all access to his files that he created and that are maintained on the hard drive and back up; Any suggestions are welcomed! ]
Could someone let me know if this is possible and if so, how best to initiate this migration?

    Apple ID's can't be merged.

  • One library; multiple Apple IDs (used to purchase)

I am sure this has been answered in the forums, but I have looked and looked and can't seem to find a definitive answer, so I thought I would ask.
To simplify (as it's a little more complex than this, but for this question, it doesn't matter), we have one iTunes library which is shared between me, my wife and my two sons (four Apple IDs total), all on one account on a machine. We each purchase things on our iOS devices and sync them to the one library. We are all authorized to use everything across our devices from the library.
My question revolves around adding iTunes Match. I am interested in adding this to my Apple ID so I can have access to my music wherever I am. The others don't really need this.
If I were to subscribe, would it affect their abilities to sync with and use the music and media already in the library? What other pitfalls may I find?
    Thanks in advance!

  • About Apple ID and Mac App Store Purchases...

    Hi,
I was wondering if someone could give me some assistance for this question. Ok here's the situation, I want to use iCloud in my Mac however, I can't use it because it requires my Apple ID to be in an e-mail format (i.e. "[email protected]"), and my ID is in user name format (i.e. "deltaforce"). I know that you can change your ID into email format by logging into appleid.apple.com. the problem that I have is that I have made multiple Mac App Stores purchases and I don't want to lose them if I update the ID. I was wondering if the Mac App Store will still recognize me as the owner of my apps under the new ID.
Thanks for any assistance on this matter...
    Happy Holidays!

I have now spent many hours on this APPLE ID issue and still no luck from apple.   I paid for an Apple ID for 10 Years with my .mac account which did not have the  email address format.   So now I bought an IPAD and had to convert to the email address format - OK no problem except all the APPS and Music purchased under my original ID ar NO LONGER linked to my @mac.com  address.   Where did they go?  I have 3 other macs trying to sync and now nothing works!   Type  " apple ID issues" into Google ( Google - not the apple support search window) and the first thing that comes up is many people with the same issue -  click on the "Apple ID verification problem" and you will see over 6000 people have used this trail to figure out what happened to their Apple ID.   Come on APPLE - Read you own posts and help us.   I did not change my account you did.   I am a loyal 30 year apple fan and this is the most PC thing you have ever done.  The apple Experts at the store are telling me I have to pay for tech support help to fix your server issues - - Come on!!!  That would not work anyway - - Just read all the people who have tried at this link and you will see that many people have this issue and the tech support does not know how to fix it.
