Conky output disappears from i3bar

Question

I'm currently using Conky with i3bar, and it seems that output from Conky disappears from the system bar after extended use. I have also noticed that switching tracks in MPD also triggers this. As shown on the example site, I am using a wrapper script to use data from conky:

Restarting i3 seems to fix this issue most of the time, but does anyone know the root cause?

Try setting own_window_type to override. Also, when asking configuration questions, always post the file in question when possible.
