Connect R/3 to cProject

Hi,
I want to create a function module in cProject that is called from R/3 side. but I don't know which table to store up the connection information to connect cProject and R/3. I would like to use function module 'SCWB_RFC_PING' in R/3 to check cProject connection.
In addition, what should I set up to connect servers between cProject and R/3? Please give some idea on that.

Hi,
In order to connect cProjects to systems with which connection is allowed, eg - accounting integration, CATS integration, etc or to have object links with R/3 all you need is just a RFC connection. A RFC connection is created using SM59 transaction.
In case you have connect to R/3 and use some custom built functionality, there are two scenarios:
We are assuming both cProjects and R/2 to be different boxes.
1. Connect from R/3 to cProjects
Create RFC connection (SM59) in R/3 system pointing to cProjects system.
If writing a custom function on cProjects server, make sure it is Remote enabled.
To call this custom function in cProjects server from R/3 server use call function '<Function_name>'
destination <RFC_Destination_name>.
If calling a standard cProjects function from R/3, make sure it is a remote enabled function and call function using the destination clause.
2. Connect from cProjects to R/3
Create RFC connection (SM59) in cProjects system pointing to R/3 system.
Calling function remains same.
In case you need to call a standard funtion that is normal (not remote enabled), create a custom wrapper function that is remote enabled and internally calls the normal standard funtion.
Pl note that RFC destination names are always case sensitive.

CProjects object link greyed out in DMS

Hi Everyone,
We have cProjects 4.5 setup in our environment.The RFC connections to SAP DMS have been established. DIR's of all 'Document Types' can be assigned to a project successfully.
Now,in DMS, for a DIR XYZ,'cProjects Elements' object link has been established.However, when we attempt to add a Element in cProject Elements, the netire section gets greyed out and a message is displayed as follows.
" Object link to DPR_OBJLNK cannot be changed in this transaction,Message no. 26321 ". Its understood that linking cannot be performed from CV0*n transactions. In that case,from where would this feature be enabled?

Hi.
we have the same problem.
SAP ECC 6.0 on client 300, cProject on client 400, RFC connection established.
From cProject we can link DMS documents to tasks.
But, in DMS we can't see the link to the cProject task (object DPR_OBJLNK).
Is it possibile to see cProject tasks linked from the DMS documents ?
Is it possible to link cProject tasks directly from DMS documents ?

WebDAV & cProjects/cFolders

I'm having a problem connecting via WebDAV to cProjects 4.0, but I can't find what steps I must have missed. We do not have Enterprise Portals installed.
The URL for cProjects is http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/cprojects
In SICF I've created an alias of default_host/cpr_webdav which refers to default_host/sap/cpro and have activated the service default_host/sap/cpro.
In the cprojects "Settings for webDAV" config I've set URL 1 to http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/cpr_webdav and ticked cProjects & cFolders.
I'm using 'My Network Places' -> 'Add Network Place' to connect to webDAV and I use http://xxx.yyy.zzz:8001/cpr_webdav as the network address. A login is requested and I enter my SAP UserID and Password (which is the same for all 3 clients on this system). I then get an error message 'The folder you have specified does not appear to be valid'.
I've also tried adding "?sap-client=xxx" to the end of the URL to force a specific client with the same result.
Are there any additional authorisation objects required?
Are there any prerequisite services which need to be enabled?
Have I missed any steps?

you do not need the Enterprise Portal to be installed to use the WebDAV functionality.
The name SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a little bit misleading.
It is called Portal drive, since it is the WebDAV client for the Knowledge Management (KM) of the portal also.
When using the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive with cFolders no portal is required as the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive acts also as WebDAV client for cFolders. The SAP NetWeaver Portal drive is a 3rd party WebDAV client from a company called XYTHOS (http://www.xythos.com/home/xythos/company/company.html), which can be used by SAP customers for free.
You can download the Installer for the SAP NetWeaver Portal drive from SAP Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/swdc

Connecting cProjects 4.5 to SAP R/3 4.7 possible ?

we have the challange in an customer project to connect a cProjects 4.5 to a SAP R/3 4.7 system. The installation guide said that the component ECC 5.0 is mandatory for the connection from cProjects 4.x. So this component is not part of R/3 4.7 of course. The question is: is there a official possibility to connect a cProjects 4.5 system to SAP R/3 4.7?

there is no standard solution for this. However we have done this on customer-specific basis and could offer a consulting solution. I do not have the details at hand, but you can drop me an eMail with your business details as short reminder and I will try to get the information for you.
Better - of course :o) - would be to consider an upgrade of the R/3 system or to wait for this upgrade, if it is planned for the near future anyway to avoid efforts for you.

CProjects to DMS connectivity issues

Hi Everyone,
We are currently integrating SAP DMS in cProjects.When we try and open the originals of a DIR, the following error messages are displayed:
Application log contains messages for links to SAP R/3 DMS
Message 1: Create Document Link to a New Folder ( application log - subobject: LNK_2_NEW_FOLD )
Cross checked the RFC connection b/w the systems. Seems fine. Please note that SAP DMS is on ECC5.0 and cProjects4.5 is hosted on CRM 7.0 server on two separate systems. Do let know incase you have resolved issues along similar lines. Thanks.

I have seen this issue many times before and it always turned out to be an issue on the Telco network. It's quite possible either the line itself or some equipment on the provider network mayn't be provisioned for DATA or faulty equipment on their network.

PS GUIDs and how to connect to cProjects

I am trying to transfer fields to my implementation of GCC_PS_PROJECT_LABEL~CHANGE_WBS_ELEMENT. Unfortunately I don't get my own values to be accessible in this method.
To access my cProjects customer fields I would like to do the following in the method GCC_PS_PROJECT_LABEL~CHANGE_WBS_ELEMENT:
- Lookup the BAPI_BUS2172_GET_DETAIL to get my fields. Unfortunately I don't have the project_guid...
And I have no idea how I can get the neccessary project_guid if I have only the "project_definiton" that is of type ps_pspid or the DPR_TV_PROJECT_ID_CO.
Could someone tell me how to connect this data and how to lookup to the cProjects details?

secureid is a small device which displays a number(say a 6 digit number ) this number is keeps on changing for every one minitue.
you need to enter the number which is displaing while you are trying to connect to vpn.
in the middle of connecting to vpn if your secureid number changed , you need to login once again by the same procedure

The following single roles are delivered with cProjects:
SAP_CPR_PROJECT_ADMINISTRATOR     :Create projects (project definitions).
SAP_CPR_TEMPLATE_ADMINISTRATOR     :Create, change, read, and delete all templates in cProjects.
SAP_CPR_USER     :Use cProjects, but no authorization to perform any activities in a particular project. To do this users need project-specific authorizations, which can be distributed either directly or through their assignment to a role.
The following composite roles are delivered with cProjects:
SAP_CPR_DECISON_MAKER     :cProjects decision maker. Contains the role SAP_CPR_USER.
SAP_CPR_INTERESTED     :cProjects interested party. Contains the role SAP_CPR_USER.

Could u please name tables where connection task and it's subproject is recorded in data base?
I'm using multi-project management with subprojects but I haven't found any connection in DPR_TASK table. I wounder where it records how master project task connecteed with subprojects.

You may check the settings by navigating to the following path
IMG --> Collaboration Projects --> Connection to external systems --> Accounting Integration
--> Define Object Links for Accounting Integration.
Check if the RFC destination has been correctly maintained. You may check the correctness of the RFC settings via SM59.

CProjects 4.0 - SAP R/3 4.7 - Accounting Integration problem.

Dear all,
I have performed all steps necesaary for accounting integration in cProjects and SAP R/3 FI System.
I can even see and assign the cost rate that I have created in cProjects to a project role.
System also calculates the cost for the role multiplyin the cost rate with the number of hours the resource has been assigned.
However, it also displays the following warning messages:
1. An error occurred in Accounting (system QASCLNT777)
2. Function module "IAOM_CPRO_MISC_RFC_CPDEF_CHECK" not found.
3. No cost center could be determined for organizational unit 00000000
4. Maintain a revenue element for cost/revenue rate ZZ_000001
5. Error occurred in accounting - check the costing in the ERP system
When I execute the transaction COCPCPR in R/3 system, I cannot see the internal order, but see the project name under "Internal Orders not created"

Hi reema, if we refer to the documentation pertaining to accounting integration for cProjects 4.0, we see that the prerequisities is ECC 6.0

To be able to use the functions of accounting integration, you have to implement the Internal Orders (CO-OM-OPA) application component and Project System (PS) in SAP ECC 6.0.
Prerequisites
You need to make a number of Customizing settings in both the Collaboration Projects and SAP ECC Implementation Guides (IMG):
Settings in the Collaboration Projects IMG
You selected the Controlling in mySAP ERP setting in Customizing for Collaboration Projects under Connection to External Systems ® Accounting Integration ® Activate Integration as the Accounting Integration Scenario.
I feel the error messages are thrown because you are using SAP R/3 4.7. I see from the SAP notes, for CATS integration with cProjects 4.0 and SAP R/3, SAP consulting is available, but nothing is mentioned for accounting integration.

BW,cProjects Reports are not working

Hi Gurus,
we are using EP7 EHP 2 for PPM 5.0. We have activate all BW contents In BW system but when we click on any report link on report tab in PPM portal system ,it is just showing default web template but when we run the same report from BW system ,it is running fine.
When I checked url , it is pointing to BW backend system but not getting web template name.
Do I need to do any configuration in spro (launchpad)?

I have maintained SAP_BW in portal and it's working fine. In PPM backend we have maintained RFC connections.
User is also exist in both the system and we have configured SSO between systems.
Report links are available on wd abap application APB_LAUNCHPAD .
One thing that I can notice that there is no iview available for all those BW /cProjects reports in portal content.
I am sure weather I am missing some configuration on PPM backend or BW backend system.
If you know the configuration step,please let me know.

CProjects - DMS integration:26 036 You are not authorized for with doc.type

Hi Experts,
I need to use cProjects integration with DMS. When I try to create a link to an existing document I find the following error:
26 036 You are not authorized for with document type DRW
My user has authorization to the doc type in the DMS system (linked by RFC to cProjects system). I also have defined the object link in the document type.
Do you know which configuration may be missing?

Hi Niel,
How is the RFC connection established between DMS and cProjects system? Do check the authorizations of the RFC user through which the connection is established.

Synchronizing Business Partners for cProjects

Hi all,
We are on cProjects 4.0, ECC 6. We are trying to create Business Partners of the employees via report HR_SYNC_PERSON. The required settings are made for HR Integration in transaction OO_CENTRAL_PERSON.
On running the report, we are getting the following error:
Internal error in IGS1, GB. RFC: Connection error 00000000CP
Message no. GEOCODING004
Diagnosis:
An internal error occurred during geocoding or in a related geocoding program.
Any suggestions on how to rectify this error?

It may be not the best forum to post this issue, even the cProject is involved.
After my brief investigation, the notes 454042 & 934412.should give you some helps at this issue.
If the problem remains, please the component BC-SRV-GEO (geographic function) is the right one, I donot know, which forum it belongs to.
