Connected to Wifi - Internet works but not email or BBM

I am currently using my blackberry abroad on a wireless connection to ensure that I do not run up huge data bills.
My Curve 3g is connected to the wi-fi network and allows me to surf the internet with no problems.
However I cannot use my email or BBM, I am unable to send or receive messages with either. This is very strange as I have used this wi-fi connection before when I was last abroad.
To my knowldege I have not altered any settings.
I would be very greateful if somebody could help me unravel this mystery.

HI, I'm facing same problem. I also travel abroad, quate often and I always used my BB Curve 8520 on wifi there. But since last time, it means since this week, it doesn't work. It sais that I'm connected, but only browser works. Email, gtalk, facebook and twitter don't work. I haven't changed any options.
Since I was abroad last time, it stoped work also on my wifi at home.
Pls help as I need my BB for work.

Devices connect to wifi (via airport) but not to internet.

Devices (macbook and iphones) which previously connected via our home wifi are no longer working. They connect to our wfi network fine (or seem to). This is generated via the airport on our imac, OSX version 10.6.8.
None of the devices will actually connect to the internet via the wifi (although the phones do it fine on 4G).
Thee were some messages about allowing various applications access to network sharing (or something) when I started the mac this morning. for some of these I clicked "deny" as I did not know why I was seeing them, what the applications were, or really what they meant. It was out of the blue and seemed a bit odd. This may have caused the problem. All the diagnostics I have run, and network rebuilding has not helped.
Hope someone has some ideas.

Try shutting everything down. Then in order restart your cable/dsl modem, your Airport router and finally your computer. Let each device fully start before powering up the next one.

I bought an I phone 5 in the USA in April. Worked fine until yesterday. will not connect the telephone now. the internet works but not the telephone.

I phone 5 purchased in USA not tied to provider. Brought to Azerbaijan and set up with Elcell - worked good for 3 months - then would not connect the telephone. SIM card OK as it works in other phones.

Warranty and support is only valid in the country of origin. Return the device to the US for evaluation and possible replacement.

OS X 10.7 internet working, but not working on iphone or OS X 10.6

Both my girlfriend and I I have MacBooks. Mine is the unibody one from 2009 running OS X 10.7 and hers is the 2008 (top case) version running OS X 10.6.
The internet for the entire area has been down for the last couple of days. My ISP has apparently fixed the fault and advised us to reset the router, which we did. I can connect fine using OS X 10.7 but my iPhone and my girlfriends MacBook (10.6) aren't connecting properly. Airport says its connected and displays a strong signal in the icon it even says (in system preferences>network) that it is connected to the router and gives the IP address, but when you try and use any browser the screen goes white and in the bottom left says: contacting www.whatever.co.uk.
I have tried everything including creating a new network location and making sure all the details are exact but I still can't get anything to work.
Help...

Thing is this manufacturer is one of the worst i've ever come across. They don't even respond to emails. I'm sure its just a little change to make it compatible for 10.9. Is there a way to find out what major changes apple made between 10.7 and 10.8 to 10.9 so I can have an idea of what might have changed. Unlike incompatible software that apple alerts you are not compatible with the current OS version, this one installs to the end but does not just power on. I installed parallel and loaded Windows 7 and the modem works over there so its certainly the driver for my OS version.

Ipad was working just fine until I updated to version 5.1.1. Now i cant connect to my work router which is a d-link dir655. The odd part of it is that my iPhone and MBP are both connected to the router with no problems. I tried powering down and then back up with both the router and the iPad. I also did a soft reboot on the iPad all ending with no success. The ipad connects fine to my home Fios router but states "unable to join" on the work one. Any thoughts???

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, restart the computer and try again. If there's no change, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Applyand test.
If there's still no connection, and if you have control of the router, compare its settings to Apple's recommendations. Some third-party routers may be incompatible in 802.11b/g/n radio mode. Try setting the mode to 802.11n only.

Call your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and explain them your issue, it could range from having your router configured incorrectly to having a wiring issue. Personally, I have Comcast and they are great, no issues, and awesome customer service.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

On Safari, ipad connects to the internet. But when in applications such as Keynote, I try to e-mail presentattion it doesnt work.

I am a teacher and have my own iPad with a data plan. We also have a router in teh classroom for wifi, and it has a very strong signal. On Safari, the ipads can connect to the internet. Try this. Turn your iPad Off. Then disconnect the power going to the router for 30 seconds or longer. Then replug the power to the router (allow it to initialize) and turn On the iPad. Hopefully everything will connect. If not, see below.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Icloud photo library won't work unless connected to wifi. If I am trying to attach a pic to a message or email, I get the error "photo can't be downloaded from iphoto library, please try later." If I connect to wifi it works just fine.

If it's truly "storing" a low res version on my phone it shouldn't have to download anything. I can understand the uploading of pics to library only being done over wifi, but there are plenty of times I'm going to want to send a pic when I'm not going to be near a network. It does work occasionally, but the norm is that I get the error.

There is issue with Windows 7 when you send the email. It gives the message you specified.
But you can always use Adobe Email client to send your images. In this workflow also you would get the error message but you can ignore it and continue to send the mail.

MacBook Air wifi internet shared network not working on tethered android phone GT B5122
I have created a password protected wifi internet network on my Macbook air. I tethered by Andriod phone onto this network, but the internet connection works intermittently on the phone, and when it stops working the network continues to show as connected to the shared network mostly(other times it keeps renewing the wifi IP address on the Andriod phone).
Also the network the MBA is connected to, is a hardwired one using a SSH login account in a student accomadations.
I am not sure, but all the restarting and refreshing of system, phone and wifi sharing and re-enabling wifi is not reparing the internet connecting on the wifi network for the phone
Really puzzled, if this is one of the Apple, Andriod compatability issues.
