Connecting Flash with Java inside a mobile phone

Hello,
I'm working on a TBOT project that is running on Java on
mobile phones, and we have been pondering the possibilities of
making the UI with Flash Lite 2.0. Currently we are thinking of
using XML / textfiles to get the data to FL from the java, but
sending data back to the Java client inside the mobile phone is
something I have no experience of, and was wondering if it is
possible even?
Basically can a FL application connect with / contact other
applications / services in the same mobile phone? EG. Sending data
to somewhere in a mobile phone? Or can the Java somehow intercept
stuff Flash lite sends out for example?
Thank you for all your help.
Cheers
Niilo

I think you will be happier if you go about it through Bluetooth. I had a dongle for my Ibook 1.2 and now my Ibook 1.33 is bluetooth enabled.
I use Verizon and have a Motorola V710 (bluetooth) . The connection works perfect everytime! I am disappointed that this new model Verizon phone does not support Isync. To sync data from the computer to the phone. I did find that Verizon was not very helpful as they don't seem to know much about Macs. I had to find out on how to connect via Google. Good luck! Geof

    Hello!
    My question is: can I send short message from Java application on mobile phone to server - with the use of SMS (WMA) or http connection?

    hi,
    SMS API(WMA) is an optional package. It is not a MIDP1.0 or MIDP2.0 api's.
    There are phones which has WMA api with MIDP1.0 support .... Nokia 3650
    Seimens has some phone with their own api's to send sms.Check out seimens site for more info
    BTW, What do you mean buy sending SMS to Server????
    If you want to send message to server you can do it with Http.

    Hi! I'm from Russia and i want to buy the new unlocked iPhone 4S in the U.S. in November, but i need to know, am i need this doc's?
    What to Bring with You
    Your old mobile phone, if you’re replacing it.
    Social Security number of the account holder.
    Valid government-issued photo ID.
    Carrier account password, if you have one.
    Your Apple ID and password.

    http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/
    According to Apple's list (link above) you will probably want to pick up a Sprint or US Cellular model. HOWEVER, as I mentioned above I know that the Verizon iPhones come unlocked from the factory (assuming it will be the same for iPhone 6 and 6+). I DO NOT KNOW if the Sprint and US Cellular models come unlocked. But I am sure some quick internet research will lead you to the answer.
    I think your goal would be to get a Sprint or US Cellular version. Also I believe a law was just recently passed that allows someone to have a phone unlocked by the carrier no questions asked. So even if the Sprint and US Cellular iPhones are locked you can have them unlocked.

  • Adobe flash player can install in mobile phone?

    where can find the adobe flash player that can install in mobile phone???

    It was reported on some of the on line news outs lets  that supposedly apple and adobe were working together to come up with a version for cell phones.
    I find it difficult to even veiw most webpages on my cellphone, a Blackberry 8330, let alone run flash content. I was an Alltel customer which was just taken over by Verizon. To be effective you'll need a 3G or 4 4G phone to take advantage of Flash. Allel and Verizon just has 1EXV.Though Supposedly by end of year the will go to 4G.

  • Connection refused with java, but not javaw

    I have a ServerSocket based program...listening on a port. It is really a very simple program. And I can run it with javaw. Then I can use another problem, for example, telnet to connect to that port, just to prove I can connect to that port. Everything is fine.
    Now if I run the exactly the same ServerSocket program with java, then I got the connection refused error.
    It is weird.
    Do you know why? Do you know a good socket troubleshooting tool on Windows? I am afraid of the viruses, so I haven't downloaded any free tools yet.

    You're right.
    The Norton personal firewall does not handle localhost to localhost correctly. I do all the tests on the same machine. The netstat -an shows the port is listening in either case. But now I know the firewall blocks one of them silently. No rule prompt was triggered. Worse, no logging produced for that particular access.
    Thanks. You've been very helpful.

  • There's a contact with my name and mobile phone wh...

    Hi everyone!
    Over the last days it appeared among my contact a new one with my same full name, a random personal pic and my mobile phone shown for calls. ...but that's not me!
    I didn't add my mobile number to my Skype profile and I have never used Skype to call mobile phones. So how is this possible then? Who's this person? Was my account hacked or what else is it? What shall I do to protect my mobile number from being public?
    Thank you in advance for your support.

     Hi, Lullu, and welcome to the Community!
    First things first: change your account password immediately.  Then, check your profile settings, make the necessary changes, click the "Save" check-marks beside each line item, and check your Skype Options to ensure all settings are on "My Contacts Only;" remember to click Save before you leave each window (sometimes I forget this simple step!).

  • Null connection context with java wrapped wwsec_api

    How can I specify my OID connection information when using the PL/SQL wwsec_api with java wrappers?
    I am getting a null connection context, and I assume that it is looking for the directory connection information (OID host,port,user,password).
    Is this somehow specified in the .properties file?
    The java was created with Jpublisher per the Jdeveloper help instructions. Following is a code snippet using the java classes created.
    String userName = "username";
    WwsecApi anWwsecApi = new WwsecApi();
    WwsecApiRowtypeSql3 userInfo = (WwsecApiRowtypeSql3)anWwsecApi.personInfo(userName);

    out.print("Employee Number" + userInfo.getEmpno());
    else
    out.print("null");

    Oh and the tariff and prices dont apply for a secondary account
    Strange this isnt mentioned in the terms and conditions.
    What a letdown BT !!!, more business for another provider who offered me £10 a month for unlimited texts and no charge for a HTC Touch 2 handset in the end.
    HTC Hero was £25 a month with unlimited texts

    @Dodcobbler - no its not bad for a mobile phone.  How much data usage do you have?
    Interesting sum to do is phone + usage (inluding data) +b b option 3 = ?
    I dont think you can price these phones standing alone from the BB package that has to go with them.  IMHO it is that £ which is the salient point.  We kept ping-ponging that point back week after week last year prior to the news being announced, but the data usage and composite price in the round was never really taken up.  Neither was the second handset.  Neither was the lifting of 'bundling' legislation which now allows BT to offer a 'one stop shop' of BB, TV, landline + mobile.
    They do offer a credit card though, which is very nice indeed.

    Full logs attached, I have imported the CCM cert into the Java keystore and still no luck. The only way I can get this to work by testing is to have CCM in VM and web deployed on actual physical machine and that's only for a single user dev. environment.
    Rob

    By default, the ssl certificate from the ccm is untrusted - so you get a verification error. There are two ways to work around this.. one is importing the certificate to the trusted store (google it), the other is writing your code so that it automatically accepts untrusted certs.
    For the latter, you could have a method like this (which I stole from the axlsql application)
    public void init() throws InitializationException
    X509TrustManager xtm = new MyTrustManager();
    TrustManager[] mytm = { xtm };
    SSLContext ctx;
    try
    ctx = SSLContext.getInstance("SSL");
    ctx.init(null, mytm, null);
    SSLSocketFactory sf = ctx.getSocketFactory();
    HttpsURLConnection.setDefaultSSLSocketFactory(sf);
    HttpsURLConnection.setDefaultHostnameVerifier(new HostnameVerifier()
    public boolean verify(String hostname, SSLSession session)
    return true;
    catch (NoSuchAlgorithmException ex)
    throw new InitializationException("SSL Algorithm not found: " + ex.getMessage());
    catch (KeyManagementException ex)
    throw new InitializationException("Key management exception: " + ex.getMessage());

  • How do I resolve connection error with Java API listener?

    I have created a listener using the new Java API (see How do I implement a listener using new MDM Java API? for background). When I run it, I get this error message
    Mar 19, 2008 3:57:58 PM com.sap.mdm.internal.net.ConnectionImpl finalize
    INFO: Disconnect was not called. Cleaning up connection in finalize.
    This message is triggered whenever I generate a data event that I would otherwise expect to be captured and handled by the listener. I have tried a number of things, including setting the connection to NO_TIMEOUT and trying SimpleConnection versus ConnectionPool, but always with the same result.
    Here is some sample code for the listener:
    public class DataListenerImpl implements DataListener {
         public void recordAdded(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Added Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordCheckedIn(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Checked In Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordCheckedOut(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Checked Out Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
         public void recordModified(RecordEvent evt) {
              System.out.println("===> Record Modified Event");
              System.out.println(evt.getServerName());
    And here is the code for the Event Dispatcher:
    public void execute(Repository repository) {
         DataListener listener = new DataListenerImpl();
         try {
              EventDispatcherManager edm = EventDispatcherManager.getInstance();
              EventDispatcher ed = edm.getEventDispatcher(repository.getServer().getName());
              ed.addListener(listener);
              ed.registerDataNotifications(SystemProperties.getUserName(), SystemProperties.getPassword(),
                        repository.getIdentifier(), repository.getLoginRegion());
              ed.registerRepositoryNotifications(SystemProperties.getUserName(), SystemProperties.getPassword(),
                        repository.getIdentifier());
              ed.registerGlobalNotifications();
              while (true) {
                   Thread.yield();
                   try {
                        Thread.sleep(1500);
                   } catch (InterruptedException ex) {
                        System.out.println("Interrupted Exception: " + ex.getMessage());
         } catch (ConnectionException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         } catch (CommandException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
    Has anyone else encountered this message? Could it be related to a TCP configuration on the server? Or is this a bug in the Java API?
    As I mentioned in the forum posting linked to above, I have not encountered this problem with the MDM4J API.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I resolved it. We are switching over to SP6, Patch 1 and the listener code works fine with this version of the Java API.
    Just one thing to note, though: make sure that you register data notifications through MetadataManager in your initialization code:
    metadataManager.registerDataNotifications(userSessionContext, repositoryPassword);
    For information on the changes to the SP6 Java API, especially with regard to connecting to MDM with the UserSessionContext, please review Richard LeBlanc's [presentation|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20073a91-3e8b-2a10-52ae-e1b4a10add1c].

  • Connect Oracle with Java

    Cause
    Without the Server Hostname field filled in, a FireSIGHT Management Center (also known as Defense Center) tells the JDBC client that it has an address of localhost, or 127.0.0.1, which causes the connection to fail.
    Solution
    Step 1: Log in to your FireSIGHT Management Center where the JDBC is trying to connect to.
    Step 2: Navigate to System > Local > Configuration.
    Step 3: When the page loads, select Database on the left pane.
    Step 4: Ensure that the Server Hostname field is filled out with the Fully Qualified Domain Name, or the IP address of the FireSIGHT Management Center.
