Connecting my Nokia C5-00 5MP to internet using ov...

First of all sorry to put my problem in this discussion. I was not able to find how to start new discussion. My problem is I have to make several attempts to connect my Nokia C5-00 5MP to internet using ovi suite which should happen in 1st attempt only. Previously internet connection disconnected automatically if kept idle for few minutes which was solved by downloading a fix at microsofts website. Is there any such fix to resolve my current problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi Joker88,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Just to verify, did you follow the same procedures below?
To use your phone as a modem to connect a compatible PC to web.
Install the Nokia Suite to your PC. The latest Nokia Suite includes the compatible drivers.
Connect the data cable and select Connect PC to Web. The confirmation is displayed: Connect PC to web mode activated.
When the necessary Windows software is installed to your PC, accept the installation. If asked, accept the connection as well and the internet browser of your PC will open.
Check the connection settings (Internet Access Point) from your phone for your PC. Select Web > Options > Settings > General > Access point.
Please make sure that you're using a compatible USB cable and your PC has the latest Nokia Suite installed. You may install this software from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/
Hope this helps.

  • Firefox will not connect to websites, it just says "connecting" constantly, but I can access the internet using IE.

For the last 2 days I have had a problem with Firefox. When I start it, one or two pages will open, sometimes 3 or 4, but then if I try to open any more tabs it will just get stuck connecting to it and never go to the page. Once it starts this infinite-connection process, the pages previously opened do not work anymore either. If you try to navigate in them, they will respond the same way. I have tried connecting in IE, and it works. I did upgrade to Firefox 6 yesterday, but I was having the problem before that (which is why I tried upgrading).

I have tried all of the options in that first link you showed and none worked. I also configured my firewall (Windows Firewall) and ensured firefox was in the "Allow" list, which it was. I still have the issue.
I did notice something interesting though. When I first checked the firewall, Mozilla firefox wasn't on the list at all. I had to manually add it and then made sure it was allowed to connect to the internet. Even after I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, I never got one of those windows notifications asking me if I wanted to add a rule for firefox. Checking the firewall settings again, firefox was still absent. I don't think it matters, firefox doesn't work with no rules at all in the firewall, or if I manually add the rule and allow firefox to connect.
    Any other thoughts?
Thanks in advance for your help

(When I enter the password, it will not allow me to connect to the wireless internet because I am not entering the correct password but I am.) My computer recognizes the wireless internet it just won't allow me to connect. I assume there must be some special way to enter the password. Please help.

I would like to be able to connect my mobile (Nokia 5230) to internet without using the GPRS connection.
The only option I can see, is to connect my mobile to my PC (which has an internet connection) via bluetooth or USB and share the pc internet connection with my mobile.
    How can I do that?
I would like to use OVI store but the only option is "Send to Mobile" It seems that it is not possible to download a file on the PC and then send it to the mobile . If I coudl share my PC internet connection with my mobile I will be in a position where I could use OVI store

What you're asking is not possible. There was a piece of software called GNUBox that might have done the trick but it seems to be more or less abandoned.

Could you try to connect to the internet using Nokia Ovi Suite as it has many operator selection which is not that good in pc suite. You can download the latest version from the web www.nokia.com/ovi suite.
Also you can go to My Compuer-Right Click Manage- Device manager-Select Ports-Make sure you uninstall all and everything which says Nokia there. Reboot the computer and then connec the device-wait for all the drivers to be downloaded.
    Hopefully this works

  • Can't connect to internet using Nokia Suite

Hello. I have a Nokia Asha 311. I could connect to internet using my USB cable and Nokia Suite without trouble in another computer similar to the one I'm using now. The difference is that that computer had windows 7 and this one has Windows xp (probably there are more differences, but this is the most noticeable). I have Nokia Suite version 3.8.48, it recognizes my phone, but everytime I tried to connect to the internet using the phone as modem, it says, inmediately (it isn't even trying to connect) "Failed to establish a network connection"
What can I do? If I was able to use my Nokia Asha 311 in the other computer as a modem, I'm sure I can use here too for that. But there is something preventing it from working well. What can it be? I have already read the other posts about similar issues but I haven't found any solution in them.

    Hi overo,
    Welcome to the forum!
Is the OS of your Windows XP PC updated? It's advisable to keep both PC and phone's software up-to-date. Try also to repair Nokia Suite to isolate the issue. Just click the PC's start button, and then go to All Programs > Control Panel > Installed applications. Select Nokia Suite, and then choose Uninstall / Change > Repair. After this step, try to share our phone's connection to your PC and see if it'll work. Make sure that Nokia Suite mode is selected in your Asha 311 when sharing the internet connection to your PC via Nokia Suite.
Let us know how it will go.

  • Nokia N8 Error Scriprt : No internet connection

I have installed moneycontrol application on my nokia N8. it worked fine for few weeks but now whenever i am trying to connect its showing me "Error Script: No internet connection" and then stops working. Although i am able to connect to the net. Applications like snaptu, ovistore are working fine.
Even topapps is not working its showing same error
i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the applications but still the problem remains same
kindly help me to understand why i am facing this issue... and how can i resolve this..

    Hi Rosc363,
If you are behind Corporate Proxy and Firewall then you may have to give Exception to Adobe URL and IP Address along with Port 80 and 443.
If you are at Home then please try this step:
Please rename OOBE folder from this location to OOBE.old
    Win:
    C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Adobe
    Mac:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Once done then try again to Launch and login to CC Desktop App.
if you still get the issue then disable the Software Firewall if any and check.
    Regards,
    Abhijit

  • How to connect my nokia 6120c to my mac laptop?

how to connect my nokia 6120c to my mac laptop? i want to use my phone as my modem

    Hi,
Listed below is the step by step intructions to configure the Nokia device as a modem to a mac. If you receive any cases/questions related to this, please provide the steps mentioned below.
    Steps:
Connecting your Mac to the internet is convenient and easy with your a compatible Nokia S60 device. You'll need a Nokia S60 device that supports a 2G or 3G data connection (such as GPRS or HSDPA), a compatible Mac (with the latest OS X), a USB cable for your Nokia device or a Bluetooth-enabled Mac, and a network subscription with your mobile service provider.
To set up your device you'll need to know your operator's Access Point Name (APN) and have the packet data service enabled. For help with this please contact your operator.
-In the following example, the APN name "Airtel" is used. This name will vary depending on your operator.
-On your device locate and open the Settings application. This is normally in the Tools folder.
-In Settings select and open Connection >Select and open Packet data > Select and open Access point >Type in your operator's Access Point Name
-Exit Settings. Your device is now ready to be used as a modem for your Mac!
-Bluetooth Connection: Pairing between Mac and Device using bluetooth, follow the instruction from here:
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-as-a-modem
Note: Preferred mode is USB as it much faster than Bluetooth.
Connect the device and then go to System preferences- >Network- >Select Device (Nokia XXX)
Click on Advanced Tab > Modem tab
    - Vendor : Nokia
    -Model:GPRS (GSM/3G)
-Telephone Number: *99***1# (contact your operator to get this settings)
-APN: airtelgprs.com (contact your operator to get this settings)
    CID: 1
Once connected it will be highlighted in green.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Cheers

  • Nokia 2730 does not allow to use socket connection

I recently bought a Nokia 2730 Classic, but I am not able to browse internet on this phone through the Socket connection, like how the other Nokia 2330 Classic can do.
For the Nokia 2330 Classic, I need just put the SIM into it and start the phone, then go to the configuration and just select Internet APN as the Access Point and the phone will work fine with Opera Mini and other Java applications like Ebuddy, Bolt Browser etc through “socket” connection”, without the need to request the internet settings from my operator through SMS.
But in the Nokia 2730 Classic when I put the same SIM into this phone and Select the same Internet APN as the Access point, I am not able to browse the internet on Opera Mini and I have to send SMS to my operator to get the settings.
The main problem here is that even after saving the internet Settings of my operator on the Nokia 2730 Classic, the internet does not work on in the Socket Connection, hence Opera Mini 4.2 and 5.1 (and other java applications which need the socket connection) will not install or work. (although the internet will work on the default browser of the phone)
I am also able to connect the Nokia 2730 Classic to the computer and browse the internet through Data Cable / Bluetooth normally.
I tried with another operator using an internet data plan, but got the same results.
Can someone please tell me how to adjust the settings correctly so that the Nokia 2730 will work on the Socket connection so that I can browse on Opera Mini 5.1 and 4.2 and other Java browsers and applications which work only on the Socket connection?
Another strange issue is that after trying to use the internet on the Nokia 2730 (without any positive results), when I put the same SIM back into the Nokia 2330, the internet does not work for some hours on the socket connection and I have to use the http connection till then. Quite strange.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My problem is sounds to be somehow related to this. Actually, I do not have reference if the problem was already on SW version 9.41 (?), but at least after the firmware upgrade (v 10.40) I get the following message "Suojattu yhteys ei käytettävissä" ~ in English "Secure connection not available" when trying to open https links e.g. directly from text message.
Obviously, the same problem happens with I try to download an application from Ovi. I am able to browse the applications in the service, but once trying to download/install the problem occurs.
Opera is capable to open the https connection, but OVI does not support it => there is no way to install any application from Ovi. I have tried both Elisa and Saunalahti SIMs, but it seems not to be a settings releated.
One note still in the firmware upgade: when doing it it first time, there was an error when restoring the backup. I made the firmware upgrade couple of times again and even so that I did not restore the backup.
Could it be that the first time firmware upgrade somehow bricked the phone? I have also been wondering, why there is no settings menu available in Web section?
    Any ideas?
    BR,
    Mika

  • Nokia Lumia 520 problem with internet

    Hey
My girlfriend bought today a nokia lumia 520 from an internet shop.
Now she is installing it and it seems to have a problem.
So our netwerk is 'telenet' where we have an abo wich include 1gb internet.
She installed everything like it has to, APN and stuff all ok.
Now she cannot connect to the 3 or 2g netwerk on her phone, it keeps saying we have to put 'roaming' on.
If we do this, the internet goes, but i dont think that is how its supposed, maybe she will have to pay a lot if she does roaming. While we actually dont need it.
Can you help us with this problem?

  • Tutorial - Connecting an Nokia Phone with an iPaq ...

This Tutorial is as a result of a post by qvodude on 13th January 2008.
Tutorial – Connecting an Nokia Mobile Phone to an HP iPaq Pocket PC
This tutorial has been done using a Nokia 6260 (S60 series 2) and an iPaq 5965 travel companion (windows mobile 5).
Turn on the phone and then go to menu>connections>Bluetooth. When you open Bluetooth you are asked to give your phone a name. (I named mine Nokia 6260). Hit ok. Then highlight Bluetooth and select options>change and switch Bluetooth on. Then scroll down to My phones visibility >options > change > shown to all >ok. Your phone is now set up.
Switch on the iPaq. Start > settings > iPaq Wireless and turn Bluetooth on. Then tap done. On the settings page tap on Bluetooth Manager. When you open Bluetooth Manager it gives you a welcome screen. Just follow the instructions. Luckily my phone is in the list so it was fairly simple. If your phone is not in the list then select Generic Dialer or generic generic. The ipaq will then search for devices in range. In my case it picked up my phone and my laptop. I then selected my phone and was asked if I wanted to pair the devices. I said yes accepted the code that was on the screen and then pressed next. A message then appeared on my phone asking if I wanted to pair with my iPaq. I entered the same code that was used on the iPaq and pressed ok. The ipaq then asked if I wanted to connect to the internet and I said no as I did not want to connect at this time.
On my phone if I highlight Bluetooth and scroll right it shows Paired devices > Pocket PC 5965.
I then tested the setup by tapping tools > connect on the iPaq. My phone then asked if I wanted to Accept connection request from pocket PC. I then selected yes and my Pocket PC showed that I was connected to my network (Optus).
I trust that this helps you. If you have any further problems let me know. I will be going away next Thursday 22nd and will not be back until Wednesday 28th. Whilst I am away I will not be in a position to access these forums so if you could get back to me before then I would appreciate it.
