Connecting XI to MSSQL Server

Hi,
I want to connect to Mssql Server from XI, I have downloaded and JDBC driver of MSSql server. Is this enough to connect to XI server or else i have to do any other configuration in XI server. How to know that JDBC Adapter is enabled in XI Server. I was directed that i have to configure aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda with jar file JDBC driver,is that necessary, if so where to find that jar file and what are the configuration steps.

Best way to get the exact JDBC drivers is to check Vendor website for details.
For deploying these drivers to your XI server so that your adapter can connect to MSSQL you can use the tool "drivertool". Check details on service marketplace

If you are getting connection refused, either the server isn't listening on the port you have specified or there is a firewall intervening.
Can you connect to the database using any other MSSQL client tools (query analyzer for instance?) If so, make sure the setting you have there are the same in sqldeveloper.

Where can i get Inzoom driver.I presume it is downloadable from the net.
My application is using J2EE arthitecture(jsp/java/Struts and Frameworks/EJB/Sevelets with database as sql server).The application is deployed and running successfully on J2EE Sun Server.I want to shift this whole application to WSAD 5.0 as the Studio helps a lot in reducing the development time.
I read on the site that one can use "WebSphere Connect JDBC Driver" for connection.The WebSphere Connect JDBC Driver is the WebSphere branded DataDirect Connect JDBC Driver that is shipped with WebSphere Application Server.
But the driver "com.ibm.websphere.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" is not present in the licsensed wsad that we have here in the company.
Mostly it is downloadable from the ibm site.
Please suggest that which driver will suit my application and how to go about it.Atleast I want to run a sample application from WSAD which will connect to the SQL Server.

The two files you're interested in are server.xml and web.xml. You just need to look at the MYSQL and Oracle examples and "tweak" it ...

Problem creating a connection pool for mssql server

i downloaded the microsoft type 4 driver for JDBC and i have installed it. now i am trying to create a connection pool for MS Sql server but each time i ping i keep getting an error telling me
Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Error establishing socket

I assume that you installed the driver correctly. You did go into the app sever admin and set the JVM path? You do this by going to Application Server | JVM Settings | Path Settings and putting in an entry for Classpath Prefix.
If that is done and it's not something basic like your database isn't turned on, then it must be your settings. To to Sun's site and search for dbping. http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/appserver/utilities/dbping/dbping_overview.html
Deploy this program and run it. It is a very simple tool that lets you test different property settings. Play around with different settings until you get a ping.
If that doesn't work post your connect pool settings.

Hi, SDN fellows.
I finished applying SPs for Solman Manager 7.0 (updated to Solman 7.1 EHP1 - just the Java Stack with JSPM). Then, I decided to start install SAP ECC 6.0 IDES in D drive (solman currently installed in C drive). When I ran the SAP ECC installer till the screen where it require Solution Key, I stopped the process due to invalid solution key provided.
After that, my Solman system became not able to connect to MS SQL server anymore. Here is the trans messages I got from "R3Trans -d".
Not sure what isthe root cause, but I found couple messages maybe the leads to root cause.
I wonder why the DBNAME become empty on this line: 2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = MSSQL                            --- SERVER = 'MYSERVER101' DBNAME = ''".

Not able to get the connection to mssql server thro native sql

Dear Experts,
I have created a database connection to mssql server thro DBCO t.code.Am not able to get the connection when i am executing Native SQl for geting connection of mssql server.
DATA: CON_NAME LIKE DBCON-CON_NAME VALUE 'BIW'.
EXEC SQL.
CONNECT TO :con_name AS 'C1'
ENDEXEC.
Am always getting sy-subrc = 4. The user name and password i have given in dbcon table having full authorization to access mssql database. I am working SAP ecc 5.0. Also both servers are running in windows.
could anyone hlep me on this issue.

This error indicates that the syntax of a Transact-SQL statement is incorrect and that the syntax error was detected near the keyword specified in the error message. The most frequent causes for syntax errors are misspellings of Transact-SQL keywords or operators, and specifying the syntax of a Transact-SQL statement in the wrong order.
One of the more complicated causes for this error may be a compatibility level mismatch for the current database. If the current database has a compatibility level other than 70, Microsoft® SQL Serveru2122 will not recognize any of the keywords that a database with a compatibility level of 70 would recognize.
Action
First, check the Transact-SQL statement syntax near the keyword specified in the error message. Because Transact-SQL language syntax can be very complex, SQL Server may incorrectly report the position of the syntax error as later in the Transact-SQL statement than it actually occurred. Second, reexamine the entire Transact-SQL statement that generated the error. Verify the syntax order of the statement.
Ensure that the database does not have a compatibility level of 65 and has a compatibility level of 70.

ODBC connectivity between Oracle 11G and MSSQL Server on Solaris 10

When we were running in 10G, I was able to successfully configure hsodbc using unixODBC and freeTDS to allow for an ODBC connection between Oracle and MSSQL Server.
A few weeks ago we upgraded to 11G and I've been struggling to get the connectivity (dg4odbc) working.
In our 10g environment unixODBC and freeTDS were compiled as 32-bit. I have recompiled them as 64-bit and switched over to an 11G listener and I am getting the following error:

I modified the envs LD_LIBRARY_PATH parameter in my SID_LIST_LISTENERODBC to be:

and bounced the listener, but I'm still getting the same error.
I do not have a lib64 directory in my Freetds installation, but all the files in the lib directory are 64-bit.

Issue with MSSQL server connectivity from ODI 10.1.3

Hi,
In one of the interface we are populating data to target table in MSSQL server version 2005.
The physical topology connection results successful.
Since so long there is no problem and it is running successful. But suddenly I'm facing issues with this.
I cannot see teh datastores under the model created for this table. When expanding the model, when trying to reverse the model or when I am trying to save any changes in the package I am getting the below error.

I have verified below:
The SQL server version is: MSSQL server 2005
the "sqljdbc.jar" file is there in place "<ORACLE_HOME>/oracledi/drivers"
Java version: jdk1.5.0
There is no change in source or target db. Please help me to fix this issue

"The JDK version is 1.5 and JRE version is 1.4.2."
But, this was working fine till last week. I am worried, if the issue is due to version compatability why we were not facing this issue before. There is no changes in the environment since go live of this interface.

Suddenly the mSSQL-server has stopped working, and the application doesn't have any connection to it.
Also, I cant connect locally via SQL Server Management Studio.
Any ideas on where to start?

Password Change on MSSQL Server, now no Connection to Workspace

Hello,
our IT-Department changed the password to login to the MSSQL Server. Now i cant login to Workspace or Financial Reporting. The Error message says the the GSM Service on Port 1800 cant be reached. The Services are marked as started.
I have already used the Configuration Utility and the Service Configurator, there is a tab called database where you can change the login credentials. But i still cant login.
There is a note below which says:
Note: Database properties are tied to some startup scripts and configuration files. If you make any changes on these properties you should change those related files per hand.
Which Files are meant ?
Where else is the password stored ?
What else can i do to check if the GSM Service is running ?

i talked to support an they gave me the advise to restore the old password to get services running and then do the following steps:
Changing the Services Repository Database Password
When you change the password that the services use to access the repository database, the order
of steps is critical. Carefully read all instructions before performing them.
Caution!
Make sure to change the password in Workspace before changing it in the database. If you
perform the steps in the wrong order, you may lose the ability to run Workspace.
➤ To change the repository database password:
1 From RSC, select Name Service, Repository Service, or Event Service.
2 Click Show item properties, and select the Storage tab.
3 Change the password and click OK.
4 Repeat step 1 through step 3 for all Name Services, Repository Services, and Event Services with the same
database account, making certain to enter the same password for each one.
If these services use different database accounts, perform this step only for those that use the
account whose password you are changing.
5 Close RSC.
6 In LSC, click Show host properties, and select the Database tab.
7 Change the password and click OK.
This password property (like the other properties on the Database tab) applies to all LSC services
on the local host, all of which use one database account.
For more information about LSC, see Chapter 8, “Configuring LSC Services.”
8 Repeat step 6 and step 7 on every host that contains LSC services, making certain to enter the password
the same way each time.
9 If you are using the same database for row-level security, change the password for row-level security from
the Administer module.
10 Stop the Reporting and Analysis services.
11 Change the password in the database, making certain it matches the password entered for Reporting and
Analysis services.
12 Restart the services.
This procedure can also be found in the file hsadmin.pdf which is the Workspace Administration Guide.
My Problem is the IT-Department cant restore the old password, so i fear i have to reinstall the services :(.

To install the driver to J2ee follow the below given steps:
In the instatallation directory there is default.properties file. Edit that file and change the JDBC data source according to the driver you have.
Then in the BIN directory there is a file called Userconfig.bat. Set J2ee classpath to the path of your Driver.
This will enable you to install the driver to J2ee.
To set j2ee connected to MS SQl Server run the j2ee.bat file in the bin directory.

Trying to move EP 7.0 from one MSSQL server to a different one

We have created a distributed instance installation of NW2004s/EP7.0.
We need to move the database instance from one windows server to a second server. We do not need to move any other portions.
We shutdown the MSSQL server and copied the files, and brought the database up. To test I connected to the database using query analyzer, and the user which is defined as SAP<SID>DB (in our case SAPSPPDB) and this worked fine.
When I adjust the default profile parameter, and the config tool parameter - in the secure store: jdbc/pool/<SID>/URL. The changes were done after teh database was shutdown and copied. I get errors afterwards jcontrol fails, online and offline config tool do not open, etc'
What is the process for moving a MSSQL database from a portal?

I did it a few times succesfull and this is (my) procedure:
1. stop the SAP system
2. detach th DB on the Source server
3. copy db+log files to the Target server
4. attach the db on the Target server
5. repair login/db user account following the steps:

6. update/change the file usr\sap\<sid>\sys\profile\default.prf
7. start the configtool and within the keystore change the jdbc connection parameters so that it points to the new DB Server
8. save this action!!!!
9. exit and restart the configtool and look if its connecting to the new DB Server
10. exit the confconfigtool.
11. start your SAP System

MSSQL Server 2012. Error accessing reporting website. Not Found The requested URL /ReportServer1 was not found on this server. Unable to uninstall MSSQL 2008

Hi all. I have recently installed MSSQL Server 2008, and was not able to access the URL when I clicked on it. It gave me a 404.
When I installed 2012, I tried the same thing and it also throws me a 404 error. How should I go about solving this? What are the log files that you may need to help me solve this?
At the same time, I have also tried to uninstall my 2008, but am always stuck at not being able to remove Client Connectivity Tools and some other components. Please let me know what log files you need and I will be happy to provide them. Thanks!
