Connection Source

I try to do a program using [Sun One Studio4] this program connect to the DataBase
, I use [ConnectionSource] JDBC tool to connect to the DataBase and it work successfully in the [Sun One Studio4] environment .
The problem is when I try to run the main class using [JAVA.EXE] I see this message:
[Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/netbeans/lib/sql/
ConnectionSource
     at Test.initComponents<Test.java:27>
     at Test.<init><Test.java:18>
     at Test.main<Test.java:67>]
Put when I delete the [ConnectionSuorce] JDBC tool, the program work.
I think the problem in the [ConnectionSuorce] JDBC tool.
Thank you
<Ashraf>

The error message tells you that ConnectionSource couldn't be found on the classpath.
I have never used Netbeans, so I can't tell you which jar-file that contains, but you can probalby find it if you perform a search within files on the disk.

  • DB connect source system creation in BI

    Hi,
I would like to create a DB connect source system to an external MSSQL 2005 database in RSA1.
The external MSSQL 2005 database is setup using Windows Authentication mode.
Question: Which user actually should I specify when creating the source system in RSA1? or which user should I assign the db_ddladmin role in the external MSSQL database?
    Many thanks,
    YJ.

    Hi,
Please note the following with regard to the user:
To avoid problems loading data, proceed as follows:
    1. Create a special login for the extraction. You should add this login to the db_ddladmin database role in the
corresponding database. This generates a similar DB user at database level. The user you use must have the 'CREATE VIEW'
authorization at least.  This is contained in the role mentioned above.
    2. For the extraction, you should only use DB views that were  created under this DB user. (refer also to type conversion, naming
    convention and so on)
    3. Assign the necessary authorizations (SELECT at least) to the  selected user in the source tables, or the columns of these tables.
    4. Use the specially created login in the logon information when you set up the DB source system in BW.
You will find much more detailed information on how to setup the connection and known problems and issues in the
    attached note 512739.

  • Not display views/tables on DB connect source system

    Dear Experts,
After creating a oracle DB connect source system, I want to create data sources based on oracle db. But it is not showing any view/table.
    Connection is up and running.
    Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Thilini

    Hi Thilini,
Are you sure that the DB user on Oracle has sufficient authorizations?
Does the search help support wildcards? Did you try w/o any wildcard or enter a table or a view name supplied by your Oracle DBA?

  • Change a migrated DataSource for DB Connect Source System

    Hi,
I have created a DataSource for a DB connect Source system with transactioncode RSDBC as follows:
    1. select database TableView
    2. choose Edit DataSource
    3. fill in the field Application Component (default stated NODESNOTCONNECTED)
    4. generate datasource
Result: the datasource has been created in the right application component. As I want to migrate to BW 7 I have migrated the datasource (with export) and afterwards activated it. Now we need to add more fields to the database TableView. After the fields have been added I want to make these fields also available in the DataSource created before.
How can I do this ?
When using transaction code RSDBC I found out that the application component is stated again NODESNOTCONNECTED instead of the application component filled before. Is it possible that changes in the TableView will always lead to create the DataSource all over again (new InfoPackage, new Transformation rules, new DTP).
Thank you in advance for your help. Kind regards, Minouschka

    Hello,
We have basically the same problem. An existing data source from a DB-connect client and now need to add a new field but edit mode BW does not provide the ability to add or delete existing fields.
Were you able to complete this and if so how did you do it?
    Thank you,
    Rick

  • Problem in creating DB Connect source system

    Hi All,
Iam creating a DB Connect source system to a legacy ORACLE database.
Since my legacy database is ORACLE, I have given the TNS name as the connection info.
The source system got created successfully. but the problem is, upon clicking on 'datasource overview', the system has to generate an application component hierarchy. But it is showing the same application component hierarchy which is there for flat file source system, and iam not getting the option to "select Database Tables" where i can create and edit the datasource.
    please help me out.
help would be appreciable and carry reward.

    Hi,
    Create source system first.
you have to select the option "Database system (Data and meta data using SAP DB Connect)".
Now enter the database specific information.
    DBMS:
    Username:
    Pwd:
    Conn. Info:
Conn. Info should be the TNS name if it is oracle database.
after giving the relevent information save it, and come back. Source system will be created.
Now right click on source system and select the option " select Database Tables". it will show you the list of tables or views on that database.
select the table/view on which you need to create data source, and click on "edit datasource" there you can generate datasource.
after creating the datasource, replicate it... adn proceed.
    any doubts plz ask me.

  • Error When Extracting the UD Connect Source Objects

    Hi,
I am working on UD Connect to extract data from an external Oracle Database System. I have done all the required configurations from the Visual Admin and BI side.
When I click on F4 help on 'UD Connect Source Object' in the 'Extraction' tab of Application Component, I am getting a message " Extraction of existing UD Connect data source objects". But, the message reamains the same forever. I mean, the source objects(tables) are not displayed.
    Message no. RSDS_ACCESS030
But, this is working fine in the Web.
    1) We have tested the BI JDBC Connector using the URL:
    http://xxxabcdev03:50000/TestJDBC_Web/TestJDBCPage.jsp
We got the list of tables displayed, implies connector is configured properly.
    2) When we are trying to configure the Source system in rsa1->modelling->source systems-> UD connect -> create,
    following are the values given:
    a) RFC: The RFC we have created from BW to Java.
b)Logical System Name: We have manually typed in free text 'UDC_local'. Could you please clarify do we need to type in manually or select the logical system name from the F4 help?
Which logical system name should we enter here exactly.. pls clarify.
Do we have a seperate logical system name for the J2EE server...?
    c) Type of Connector : JDBC
    d) name of connector: SDK_JDBC
    e) Source system name: SDK_JDBC
    f) Type and Release : blank
Please clarify, if we went wrong anywhere.
    Regards,
    Srinivas.

    Hi Srinivas,
even i am facing the same problem, had you resolved it,if so pls help me out in resolving
i have been in the same approach and even i am not clear with the logical system name(i have give a generic name) and even i tried given with the bi logical system name but it shows source system has got the same name as bi.
i got struck there, pls guide me
    thanks in advance.

  • "unable to charge battery with connected source"

About 2 weeks ago I had to do an accessory RMA, since the "prongs" on my cords were almost non-existent. I received the new cords and things seemed to be fine.
Today, though again, my charging cord seems to feel "loose".
Today, while charging my PlayBook I do not see the "lightening bolt" across the battery, a "glow" appears in the upper left corner denoting new updates and I have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it and the message, "unable to charge battery with connected source".
I admit that I am at a loss on this one.
    I am running 1.0.7.2670 OS

Things that might help us help you:
    1. Is this the included charger, which plugs into a wall socket and the USB port (in the middle of the three)?
    2. Which "prongs" are you talking about? Usually the term would be used only, if at all, for the two/three metal prongs that stick into a wall socket. If you're talking about the other end, where it plugs into the USB port, it's hard to imagine what you mean by them being "almost non-existent".
    3. What country are you in? Different chargers are used in different countries, and this may be relevant here.
    4. Do you know anyone else with a PlayBook, so you could compare the behaviour by swapping cables, seeing how theirs fits, etc?

  • Connection Source for .... failed because the environment is not trusted

    I got a message like this -
Connection Source for .... failed because the environment is not trusted
when trying to bind a field to a data connection field. What does this mean? I setup the data connection and it tested out fine.

I am not exactly sure what you are referring to by the see "Note". I didn't find a "Note" that was related. The only thing I did find was the following:
"If you are using external data sources in a form design that you want users to fill in Adobe Reader, you must set usage rights for the form by using Reader Extensions Server."
I am only trying to display back information out of a database. I don't want to write information. Is there any way to get around this?

  • How to create UD Connect Source system and datasources.

I am currently working on BI 7.0 and I need to report on Standard Queries on xPD (Extended Applications Product Defination)
In the BI Cont library it states the data for this application is fetched using UDI rather than Table Extraction. Can anybody please help me with documentation on Steps for creating a UD connect Source system and UD Datasources and how I should proceed.

  • How to I connect Sourcing digital output from My Interface Board to NI USB 6501 channel configured as Digital input

When I connect an input to DI channel of USB 6501 card  from my board which has sourcing Output t, iIn the Off state it is not pulled down properly. The volatge on the port in is 2.1V -2.5V based on the pull down resistor on my board. I suspect that  it acts as a voltage divider.
The state on the card is still show as "HIGH "state, even my sourcing output driver has a pull down  resister.  when I use this interface board for PCI mseries devices it works fine. Do the pull down resister on my sourcing output is not worth. Is this because of pull up resister 4.7k inside USB card 6501.
USB 6501 specifications shows the Digital input accepts both source and sink modes. By default the card is in sourcing digital input mode. How do we can convert this in Sinkind digital input mode.
Could anyone Please give your suggestions to overcome this issue .
    Thanks you.

You really should not have both a pull up and pull down on the same line.  Really weird things can happen.  If you insist on having a pull down on your board, then I highly recommend putting a digital buffer chip between the DAQ and your board.
Some boards with DIO have a pull up, while others have pull down.  You just have to watch the specs.

  • Issue in while connecting Source system

    Hi All,
I mistakenly Ran the function module RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT in BIW, I suppose to run this FM in Source system side,
We observed that Source system in RSA1 (BI) has been deleted), and also one record from the table RSBASIDOC (which is from source connection) has been deleted .
When I try to create he source system in BI, after entering logical system and ALEREMOTE and BWUSER logins, it was asking me to login to source system, after entering the details,
    A pop-up message:
RFC destination already exists in source system
Do you want to use this destination, check, or
    cancel source system connection?
options: USE, CHECK and Cancel, -> We pressed USE
Then it came back to RSA1 screen and a pop-up message
Connection BA is used in the ERQXXXX
source system as a connection BWQXXXX to BW.
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system?
Connection Is Restored After It Has Been Deleted Successfully
    Options: Delete, Do not delete.
When we go for Delete : It is saying that "Error in source system ERQXXXXX"

    Hi,
I am trying to create source system (DB Connect) to extract data from SQL Server to BI.
I had user id/pwd in DB who is authorised to read view created by DB personnel.
n BW Description of Database Connections Screen
    There are two fields
    CONN.INFO and PERMANENT
What is the functionality of those 2 fields and from where can i get CONN.INFO

    Hi,
Please note the following with regard to the user:
