Connection steps for SAP BW and R/3

Hi Every Body,
Can you please explain me detail about the connectivity between R/3 and BW.
General steps which am aware is as follws;-
SAP R/3 steps to be performed
1.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
2.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
3.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
SAP BW Steps:-
4.     Define Logical system---->(e.g ABC100)
5.     Assign client to logical system -->(100)
6.     Define RFC Destination.(Here I assume I have to give Destination user name and password should be the user which have SAP_ALL authorization) Am I right.
Then in BW Environment in RSA1->Source Systems->right click and choose Create
There are two options available for R/3 system one is Manual and one is Automatic.
For Manual  creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.
Is there any other steps am missing. What about the inbound and outbound Idoc Parameters.
I feel this will help while transferring data to BW.am I right.
Please clearly explain the steps for R/3 and BW connectivity.
Regards,
VJ

Hi,
<i>For Manual creation we give RFC Destination should be BW system and Logical system should be R/3 and Source system name is xyz.</i>
RFC Destination should be R/3 system. NOT BW system.
<i>should i make connection with only R/3 200(Data Client) to BW</i>
Yes you have to connect to 200 only. Not to 100.Other wise you will not get data from R/3 to BW.
<i>What is the Use of Transport Button in RSA6.Post Processing data sources.</i>
It will be used to create Trasnport requests on DS .
<i>Suppose if i activate data source from Customizing client(100)and click on Transport button in RSA6 if there is connection with this client to BW. What is the Impact.</i>
It will not give any impact on BW. Actually it ask you to create a Transport requset by Prompting the message box. After click on create button and entering the description, it will create a transport request.
<i>Clearly explain me in detail what happen when i choose Transport Button in RSA6 for BC data sources.</i>
It is must and should process. Because you will not activate(using of RSA5) the DS in quality R/3 system. So to use this DS in QA system, you will import the Transport request creatd in DEV r/3.
In your case, you will use client 100 for activating the DS and creating Transport reuests. And then these DS are automatically available in client 200, because DS are Client independent.

  • Give me the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party s

    Hi Gurus,
Give me  the Configuration steps  for intercompany billing and third party sales and give me a brief description with examples.
    Regards,
    YSR

    Dear YSR
    Check the links
    [Cross Company Configuration|http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/Documentation/J62_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc]
    [Third Party Without Shipping Notification|http://help.sap.com/bestpractices/BBLibrary/html/J55_ThirdPartyWOSN_EN_US.htm]
Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
    Method 1)
After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created  with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z  will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X  is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted  then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always followwing a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procument type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurment ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to confugure the item category determination
ord type + item cat grp + usge + Hiv level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM +      +       = TAN . + TAS
    OR + BANS +       +       = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS  you need to mark relevnat for billing indicator as F
    Step 4)
The schedule line cateogry for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark  subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition  in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requision order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requiesion.
    thanks

  • What are the config steps for contract hierarchies and vendor hierarchies?

    Hi friends
what are the config steps for contract hierarchies and vendor hierarchies?
    Regards
    Raj Kumar

    Contract hierarchies
A function that enables users authorized to create a purchasing contract to define relationships between super- and subordinate contracts.
A contract hierarchy consists of one or multiple contracts and is subject to the following rules:
The top node of the hierarchy cannot have a superordinate contract
Every contract except for the top node has exactly one superordinate contract
Every contract can have none, one, or multiple subordinate contract(s)
A contract can be part of no hierarchy or exactly one hierarchy
Note:Contract hierarchies are only available for purchasing contracts. They are not available for global outline agreements.
You can activate this from SRM Server> Cross application settings>Activate Hierarchies for Product Categories, Vendors, and Contracts.
    Note:
These hierarchy functions should not be reset once they have been activated.
Similiarly you can do this for Vendor Hirerachies.

Thanks very much for taking the time to post the info Florian. I will update this thread as well if I run into any new information.
Do we have any idea on SAP's direction for Product Definition? PD is still version 2.0 and I heard that PD functionality will be incorporated into PPM 5.0 which does make a lot of sense. I very briefly went through the notes and config doc in this post and did not get the impression that PPM has any idea and concept management capabilities.

  • Hi All,Can any provide an example for SAP MEMORY AND ABAP memory

    Hi All,
Can any provide me an example for SAP MEMORY AND ABAP memory.
    thanks&regards.
    Bharat.

    HI Bharat
A simple example of ABAP memory is using the EXPORT/IMPORT statements.
Here in this program, I get the data, export it to memory,
clear out the internal table in my progam, then reimport the data into it and write out the data.
You probably wounldn't do this in a normal program,
but this is how you can pass data from program a to program b when A Submits program B.
    report zxy_0002 .
data: it001 type table of t001 with header line.
    select * into table it001 from t001.
    export it001 = it001 to memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.
    clear it001. refresh it001.
    import it001 = it001 from memory id 'ZXY_TEST'.
    loop at it001.
    write:/ it001-bukrs, it001-butxt.
    endloop.
    SAP Memory
SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access.
You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session,
or to pass data from one session to another.
Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters).
These parameters can be set either for a particular user
or for a particular program using the SET PARAMETER statement.
Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement.
The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens
    ABAP/4 Memory
ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access
using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements.
Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data
to a program which you are calling,
the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made.
The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program.
The program called can then read from the ABAP memory.
If control is then returned to the program which made the initial call, the same process operates in reverse.
    SAP memory
The SAP memory, otherwise known as the global memory,
is available to a user during the entire duration of a terminal session.
Its contents are retained across transaction boundaries as well as external and internal sessions.
The SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements allow you to write to, or read from, the SAP memory.
    ABAP/4 memory
The contents of the ABAP/4 memory are retained only during the lifetime of an external session
(see also Organization of Modularization Units).
You can retain or pass data across internal sessions.
The EXPORT TO MEMORY and IMPORT FROM MEMORY statements allow you to write data to, or read data from, the ABAP memory.

  • POST Installation steps for SAP XI 7.0 SP06

    Hi Experts ,
We are trying to install XI 7.0 SP06.We are suppose to carry out  post installation
steps but we are not able to locate a proper post installation guide for the same.
We have succesfully installed XI 3.0 earlier .However XI 7.0 post installation steps in the guide that we have "SAP NetWeaver 2004s SR1 ABAP+Java on Windows: Oracle" , are relatively less...
Nevertheless, we have carried out the following steps
5.21.1 Performing PI-Specific Steps for SLD Configuration
Local and Central System Landscape Directory (SLD)
    Mapping Security Role to User
    1. Log on to the Visual Administrator of the J2EE engine of the SLD host.
    2. Choose Cluster® Server® Services® Security Provider.
    3. In the Runtime tab, choose Policy Configurations and then the column Components, and select the component
    sap.com/com.sap.lcr*sld.
    4. Switch to the Security Roles tab to display the assigned roles.
    5. Select role LcrInstanceWriterLD.
The user SLDAPIUSER already exists with its security role LcrInstanceWriterLD.
    6. Switch to edit mode and add user PIAPPLUSER with the same role LcrInstanceWriterLD.
    Note
For a central SLD, the user PIAPPLUSER must be created in the central SLD ABAP system first and be
assigned to ABAP role SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER. The password must be same as in the XI Exchange
Profile on the XI Integration Server.
    Note
For information on the UME actions, see the Post-Installation Guide - SLD of SAP NetWeaver 2004s, section
Configuring SLD Security, at service.sap.com/sld® Media Library.
Maintaining SLD Connection Parameters (ABAP API)
    1. Log on to the SAP XI Integration Server System as user DDIC and call transaction SLDAPICUST. The screen
Maintain SLD Access Data is displayed.
    2. Choose Display <-> Change and proceed as follows:
    a) Replace the existing SLDAPIUSER with PIAPPLUSER user.
    Note
For a central SLD, make sure you use the user with security role LcrInstanceWriterLD.
    b) Make sure your entry is marked as Primary.
    Note
Only the entry marked as Primary is active.
    c) Save your settings.
    April 10, 2006 PUBLIC 97
Now we don't know wether the sld configuration is over or not ...or for that matter in RWB we see only J2se based adapter engine and  not J2ee based adapter engine...
    Kindly help

    Hi..
Instaed doing this, please try out template based configuration which has been mentioned in the installation guide or else do as follows
    1.Login into NWA (netweaver administrator)
    as
    http://<host.<domain>.<com>:<port>/nwa
2.Use J2ee_admin user id and password
    3.go to deploy and change
4.select template based configuration for PI
    5.execute the template
    6.install it
you can find the list of other templates which are clear and easy to do the post installation step..i found it useful ..
Apart from these, as per sandro, you can check the data transfer in visual administrator or go the abap engine, transaction RZ70, press accept proposal button
then execute button , check the data supply without any error
    Thanks
    Gopal

  • Remote Connectivity Addon for SAP B1

can anyone send me information for remote connectivity
for 5 user is there any addon available

    Manish,
A cost effective and most commonly used remote access methos is to use Terminal Services.
    Read more about this..http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755399.aspx
Ther terminal services server has to be setup which would connect to the SAP Server.  Each user would connect to the terminal services server which will have the SAP Client installed on it.  Using this client they would connect to the SAP application.
    Advantages:
Even if they lose the connection between their system and the terminal services server the session is still running and there is not loss of data.  It is also more secured.
    Faster than VPN

Requesting your help in finding some of the information as given below.
    1. Process followed to store and share engineering data such as CAD drawings (2D & 3D) from SAP PLM/DMS in cFolders (Need step by step screen shots)
I think you must be clear on what do you want to do?
SAP PLM/DMS use itself to store and share information with large users of the system by managing changes effectively. So no doubt about this functionality. According to user authentication the access is given to the user of the system either for PLM/DMS. Whether he is a supplier or customer.
    2. Process followed to store and share non - engineering data such as requirements docs from SAP ERP/DMS in cFolders (Need step by step screen shots)
The above answer is applicable for this point also.
    3. Providing access to suppliers (If we provide access to one user, can we define that it will expire after some period of time. I mean, authorization is provided from date - To date basis)
This is possible for all the users. Apart from that you can control acess for each document also.
    4. If you have any real time case study on Collboration with suppliers using cFolders
Collaboration is the term used by all the industies like Automobile, Aerospace, Heavy engineering and many more. You can get examples from these industries. But i have not worked in this scenario. The reason being many OEM's in INDIA are not willing to share their data with Tier I suppliers.
    5. What will be the process for point 1 & 2 , if we use other PLM software (not SAP PLM) and utilize cFolder colloboration. What are the integration points to be considered in this case?
This you have to study the requirements properly and take a decision ont he same according to the clients requirement.
Let me know if you are looking for more info

  • Pagefile for SAP Erp2005 and Solution Manager 4.0

    Hi all,
I've installed SAP ERP2005 and Solution Manager 4.0 on the same server with Windows 2003 Standard 32bit.
The RAM on this server is 3325MB.
How many paging file I must configure???
At the moment I configured the pagefile size as defined in the installation guide:
    1 RAM + 8GB that is 12285MB.
    Is it correct????
For both instance I set the PHYS_MEM parameter to 2328 (70% of the RAM)...is it correct??
P.S. How to calculate the [BE] parameters??
[BE] = maximum possible number of user calculated from the size of physical main memory
    Thanks in advanced
    Moreno

    I agree with Yaroslav,
you should NOT set those values:
    em/initial_size_MB  |----    [PM]  |----    [PM]   |Mbyte     |
    |---    em/max_size_MB  |---    20000  |---   100000   |Mbyte     |
    |  em/address_space_MB  |-----    512  |-----   4096   |Mbyte     |
    |----  ztta/roll_first  |-------    1  |-------    1   |Byte      |
    |---    ztta/roll_area  |---  2000000  |---  3000000   |Byte      |
    |  ztta/roll_extension  |  2000000000  |  2000000000   |Byte      |
    |    abap/heap_area_dia  |  2000000000  |           2000000000   |Byte     |
    | abap/heap_area_nondia  |  2000000000  |           0  |Byte      |
    |  abap/heap_area_total  |  2000000000  |[PM]*1048576   |Byte      |
    |-    rdisp/ROLL_MAXFS  |  [BE] * 100   |  [BE] * 100   |8KB Block |
    |---    rdisp/ROLL_SHM  |  [BE] * 100   |  [BE] * 100   |8KB Block |
    |---    rdisp/PG_MAXFS  |---    32768  |---    32768   |8KB Block |
    |-----    rdisp/PG_SHM  |
so... that [BE] value is not to be used.

  • Is SSO possible for SAP ERP and xMII

    Hi,
Is it possible to have Single Sign-On between SAP ERP and xMII.
The requirement is that the user wants to login to the SAP ERP and using the same credentials he/she should be able to use xMII (without prompting for login credentials again.)
If it is not possible why is it so, and if it is then how?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
UME is User Management Engine. The UME provides the centralized user management for all Java applications and can be configured to work with user management data from multiple data sources. It is seamlessly integrated in the J2EE engine of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server for Java as its default user store and can be administered using the administration tools of the AS java.
You can configure multiple data source (DB, LDAP or ABAP) to UME for managing user data.
For more information on UME please, refer the below link as well.
