In the web.config add this
<connectionStrings>
<add name="ORAConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=10.XXX.XXX.XXX:1521/SOE;User ID=XXXX;Password=XXXX;" providerName="System.Data.OracleClient"/>
</connectionStrings>
This assumes that you have the client installed -- it also allows you to connect with using the TNSNAMES
I wouldn't suggest using system.data.oracleclient. That was deprecated awhile ago.
You should use one of the .Net providers from Oracle instead.

Oracle 11 g connection with asp dot net in visual studio 2008
Hi to all,
My application is using oracle 11 g as database in an asp dot net project . this was basically a project in asp dot net with sql server as a database . but now this need oracle 11 g as database . I have complete the db work, but i m getting the connection problem in visual studio (2008) with oracle 11 g .
I know for this it need a driver oracle.data.access ,, i do nt know which version it need ?
I have this dll . but version of it may be earlier. thats why it is not working properly
i have 11 g installed on the server computer , and we can only use it only on browser , I have a global.asax as a file in my dot net project in which connection string is written but i m getting error , something like ora10cc .
first i do not know , which odac version i have to download i have a link for this ,
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-101290.html
but which version exactly , this page is so confusing, for oracle 11 g, and visual studio 2008 which version will be perfect
and then where the dll will be there. after getting the setup, Is i need to install that setup?
one more confusion , where i have to install that odac , on my computer system . or on the server side system , I just need that dll file ,,
One more thing , Is there any error in my connection string ,,
my connection is as follows
"Persist Security Info=False; User ID= system; Initial Catalog=LabTrack;Server=Comp-34;Data Source=192.168.1.61\oracle11g;Password=abcd1234; DBA Privilege=normal;"
192.168.1.61 is ip addres of system, where my oracle 11 g is install ,
and comp-32 is my user name
labtrack is my db name
Is there any need of provider name ?
sumbody pls help me
i m getting problem in at from 3 days
If u can then contact me , on [email protected] , otherwise reply me here
thanks in advance
regards Nimish GoelThe file at the top of that link should work fine with Oracle 11g.
I would start trying to get the client to work outside of Visual Studio, first. That way you can localize your issues.
Once you get the Oracle client connected to the Oracle server, then uou can start working on Visual Studio.
As for where to install it, I'd say start with your computer. I'm not sure how you do your development, but that would probably be a good place to start.
You may want a different download for the web server as I assume you wouldn't need the special Visual Studio tools on it. But yes, it will need whichever Oracle provider you choose installed on it as well. -
Help with ASP Connections - New User
I just set up a hosting account with 1 and 1 for a simple
website to catalog a series of yo-yo contest that we coordinate. I
have a simple MS Access database for organizing contest information
that we are trying to get online.
I am new to the application side of this and know very little
about connection strings, DSN, etc. I am experiencing problems with
connecting to the MS Access database that I have uploaded to the
1and 1 servers. If I hardcode the Javascript into the page, I can
connect and pull information but I definitely want to take
advantage of the design interface that Dreamweaver MX 2004 offers.
This is the code from the page that I can get working based
on the FAQ Sheet that 1and 1 offers for database connections:
<html>
<title>Database query using ASP</title>
<body bgcolor="FFFFFF">
<h2>Query table <b>Products</b> with
ASP</h2>
<%
Set dbaseConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
dbaseConn.Open "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver
(*.mdb)};DBQ=" & Server.Mappath("\db\League.mdb") & ";"
SQLQuery = "SELECT * FROM Contest_Information"
Set RS = dbaseConn.Execute(SQLQuery)
%>
<%
Do While Not RS.EOF
%>
<%=RS("cStartDate")%>, <%=RS("cName")%>,
<%=RS("cWebsite")%> List
<p>
<%
RS.MoveNext
Loop
RS.Close
Set RS = Nothing
dbaseConn.Close
Set dbaseConn = Nothing
%>
</body>
</html>
If I put in a "Custom Connection String" using the previous
code:
"DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=" &
Server.Mappath("\db\League.mdb") & ";"
Dreamweaver can connect to the database when the connection
is 'tested' but cannot pull any tables and therefore cannot create
bindings.
Guidance...help...I'm stuck...
Thanks in advance.Hello Lucky.da.boss,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
is asking can I or is there anyway i can transfer my music off that iPod to my touch?
See this article for tips on how to copy music from your 5th generation iPod to your iTunes library. Once you have successfully done that, you can sync them over to your iPod Touch. There is no way to do it directly.
http://macs.about.com/od/backupsarchives/ss/ipodcopy.htm
Also, I have two applications that aren't downloading I want to know how to delete them.
Tap your finger on one of them and hold it there until you see all your Apps start to wiggle. You will also see a small x in the upper right hand corner of the Apps you can delete. Go ahead and tap this to delete the App. When you are finished, hit the Home button to make the Apps stop wiggling. It might also help to have a look at your iPod's *User Guide.
http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_iOS4.1_UserGuide.pdf
Can you have constant internet service or do they run solely off wi-fi?
Only Wi-fi.

SAP company connection with DI only
Hello,
I am developing a asp.net application that uses DI to connect to a SAP Company. Now, I need to get the user password to connect to the company and then post a purchase Order.
thanks
JuliaPerhaps the best way would be, if you are using .NET, to use app.config file, store user names/password in it. The first time your add-on is installed, pop off the dialog asking for SAP user name and password (even DB username and password if don't want to use .UseTrusted = true). Subsequent Add-On startups would not need those pop-ups because Add-on would rather pick it up from app.config file.
Use System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings[] to pull off encrypted values, then decrypt it using any of the .NET libraries e.g. Symmetric.Provider.TripleDES before establishing connection with DI.
For simple ready to go downloadable snippets, I think check :

How to connect with sony bravia.
Hi,
I'm trying to connect my Mac pro with my Sony Bravia LCD TV. I bought a MiniDP to VGA cable and I already had a VGA extension to connect with my TV. I used to use that cable to connect my other laptop and worked ok with frequent "no synchronisation". Once I connected all, nothing happened. I restarted the PC but nothing happened. I tried to play around with all connection, but nothing happened. I do use windows XP in my mac pro as well and it didnt work their either although my other PC working fine with same VGA cable. I'm not very sure my MiniDP to VGA cable is working or not? Is there anyway I can check its working. Also, someone (sorry forgot the name) in the forum said, HDMI works better then VGA. What do I have to do to connect my PC through HDMI. Is there any direct cable to connect MiniDP and HDMI? Thanks for your help.The best way to test if the VGA adapter is bad or not is to try it with another display, preferably a computer monitor instead of a TV. If it doesn't work with a monitor, then that's stronger evidence the adapter is bad.
There are MiniDP to HDMI adapters. Here's an example of one. I believe this company will ship internationally. You might be able to find UK sources for similar adapters.

How can I create a mobile application to connect with my php system
II have few question to ask all expert here :
1. Im using Netbeans IDE, how can I compile the .java file to .jar ?
2. Currently, I have created a point of sales application using php and I hope to create a Mobile application to connect with tis system. So, anyone can let me know what I need to start ?
3. Im using postgresql database, anyone here know how to connect with mobile application?!. When you build java application in NetBeans (standard one) you just click 'Build' or 'Clean and Build' and your jar file is waiting for you inside 'dist' directory of your project
2. Connecting MIDP application to the server running PHP scripts is not a problem, just connect using simple HTTP with GET or POST and you are done, google on it!
3. You can connect to the database using some kind of PHP/JSP/ASP or whatever application you want and then using method from point 2 to send and retrive values, you can do it with web services as well, possibilities are endless
Hope this helps!

I have a ipad mini and i have had it for less then a year, it says that i have perfect wifi up in the left corner where the wifi is always at but when ever i go into the built in safari it says that it is unable to connect with the server. How can i fix this because with out it connecting to the server or internet it is kind of useless to me. I do have ios7 if that helps
The wifi symbol only indicates the presence/signal strength of wifi. Not that you are connected.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Helleo Everyone
I have been given a website to ammend and although i am not new to dreamweaver and using asp within dremweaver i sometimes struggle dealing with stuff that may have not been created with the tools i am used to.
I have a page that displays information relating to different clocks the page gets its info ftom an access table called tblmovements, in that table is column Called KitID and another column called details that has link information that would go to another page.
Back to the main page all that i need to happen is when the user scrolls down to find the clock that they want i need them to be able to click on more details and for that to link to the page that is referenced in the details column in the table.
But i am not sure on how to do this.
The column kitID is a unique column.
Can anyone assist
Thanks
JohnHi Thanks for the response
Below is the page that shows the information, then where it says details that would then link to the appropriate page.
I did do a link using dreamweaver recordset to the column that has the link in it but every details bit went to the same page, so i understand what you are saying about identifying via the ID but thats the bit i am unsure of.

Load image from SQL database with ASP?
Hello,
Does anyone know a tutorial where you can load an image from
a SQL database ?
I would like to show this image in Flash, but i don't know
how to load in from a SQL database using ASP.
Regards,
MichealFlash cannot load images from an SQL database.
Flash can load JPEG, PNG, GIF, SWF, MP3, and FLV files.
An SQL database can be used to store the file names and their
location. ASP can retrieve that data from the SQL and return to
Flash to load the above file formats.
For Flash to do the communication with ASP you need to
determine if you are using URL Encoded or XML data structures.
For URL Encoded data you look at
LoadVars.sendAndLoad
For XML Encoded data you look at
XML.sendAndLoad
Then in their onLoad methods you use
MovieClip.loadMovie
to load JPEG, GIF, PNG and SWF;
Sound.loadSound
for MP3,
NetConnection.connect,
Video.attachVideo and NetStream.play for FLV.
For the ASP side the work with the database has nothing to do
with Flash other than using any search variable sent from Flash
with LoadVars.sendAndLoad or XML.sendAndLoad. In other words it
could be an HTML form sending the same variable and calling the
same ASP script. Same with returning values except with Flash only
URL Encoded or XML data structures are sent back and not
HTML. -
How can I connect with the AspNetUsers table in MVC 5?
I have a model, in which I have used several foreign keys from other tables. The point is that I also need to get the Id of the user, from the AspNetUsers table, though, I don't know how. I have done something like this, but it doesn't seem to be working:
public class Message
public int MessageID { get; set; }
[Required(ErrorMessage="Please type a message to submit")]
[DataType(DataType.MultilineText)]
[Display(Name="Message")]
public string MessageText { get; set; }
public DateTime WrittenOn { get; set; }
[Required(ErrorMessage="Please select a ticket")]
[ForeignKey("Ticket")]
[Display(Name="Ticket")]
public int TicketID { get; set; }
public virtual Ticket Ticket { get; set; }
[Required(ErrorMessage = "Please select a business")]
[ForeignKey("Business")]
[Display(Name = "Business")]
public int BusinessID { get; set; }
public virtual Business Business { get; set; }
[Required(ErrorMessage = "Please select a user")]
[ForeignKey("aspnetusers")]
[Display(Name = "User")]
public int Id { get; set; }
public virtual ApplicationUser ApplicationUser { get; set; }
When I try to create a controller using the Entity Framework with my model, I get an error message saying:
The ForeignKeyAttribute on property 'Id' on type ... is not valid. The navigation property 'aspnetusers' was not found on the dependent type ... The Name value should be a valid navigation property name.
If someone could help me solve the problem, I would be glad.Hi Toni,
I see that this particular query is been answered in the following thread.

Connect with sqlplus to Fresh Install R12 Vision ORA-12154
Summary:
Trying to connect with sqlplus to R12 Vision fresh install gives me ORA-12154.
Context:
Installed R12 12.1.1 Vision instance on Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.4 x86-64 (SElinux disabled / no virtualisation). Followed [761566.1] and http://www.oraclenerd.com/2009/12/ebs-install-guide-part-1.html. I also followed instructions from [761566.1] on networking files to the best of my ability. Stuck as closely as possible to those two documents and also stuck to defaults as much as possible. All goes well with all tiers on the same machine (A). Startup and shutdown OK.
Extended description:
Now trying to connect using (latest) sqlplus on the same machine with the following:
======================================================================
[root@vizz u01]# ./ebs/R12VIS/db/tech_st/11.1.0/bin/sqlplus sys/change_on_install@VIS as sysdba

ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
======================================================================
Also tried this with oravis and applvis, the two accounts managing the instance with identical results
The notoriously generic ORA-12154......
All the tnsnames.ora I can find give me VIS as the SID:

./ebs/R12VIS/db/tech_st/11.1.0/network/admin/samples/tnsnames.ora
Just as those generated scripts (e.g. addbctl.sh) for starting and stopping the instance.
What am I missing here?
