Consistant network repair req'd? (Neo4-f)

After flipping through the forums I've noticed a couple of posts that were close to this issue, but not quite exactly what the problem is. In my case, every 5-15 minutes or so my network connection will just drop off, though the computer won't register it. Anything downloading in Azureus just stops dead, browser, e-mail... everything' gone. I go to the network connections window and run a simple repair, it's over in 30 secs and then everything works again for another 15 minutes or so. I've heard some people mention that you turn off the windows ability to shut the card down.. and Ive done that, though it's still just going dead. This sucks because how am I supposed to play an on-line game with a net connection like that?
Secondly... the bios how 2 selectors for network cards. The first two are related to the onboard lan controller, and the 2nd two options are related to the onboard gigabit lan. I leave the boot options off for obvious reasons, but the first one. "Onbioard MAC lan" I have to leave on "auto" or I can't seem to get the onboard network to function. My active devces in windows don't register the gigabit lan, just the nvidia. (My question with this part of it is... is that normal?)
Anyone have any thoughts about either of these two?

Hi Rasgueado,
Welcome to the forum. For the second lan controler to function you have to install the driver that you have on the Drivers CD that came with your board, you must have there the drivers for the Marvell controler that's your Gigabit lan (I ).
For the problem of constant disconnect disable in the driver's properties the checksum verification, or you can use the Marvell controler, that seems to be more stable than the nVidia one.
Be well....

• Constant Wireless Network Repair

Network configuration was a Speedstream DSL Modem, US Robotics Wireless Router, Sony Desktop w/XP, HP DV4000 Laptop, HP Wireless Printer. Network configuration is now the same Speedstream DSL Modem, new Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router, new HP Desktop w/XP, same HP DV4000 Laptop, same HP Wireless Printer. Everything was installed using the Easy Link software. The wireless Laptop connection was installed with Easy Link and an Ethernet cable as directed. The problem: My old configuration recognized the wireless button on my laptop and automatically placed me on the LAN. Now when I press the wireless button, the new configuration requires me to right click on the WLAN Icon and do a repair each time after using the wireless button to log on. Is there a parameter I can change on the LAN, Router or Laptop to avoid this constant Repair request? Everything else seems to work fine. Thanks!

Hi sunnyboy,
As far as your Issue is concerned is quite related to the wireless utility which is already there installed and running in your HP computer.
wireless Utility is Also known as Wireless LAN monitor simplly helps your computer To connect it through any avialable wireless network in its range.
See, if you are required to repair that Wlan again n again ? you are using WIN Xp correct.
Click on strt>run>services.msc
in the services Local window , search for wireless zero configuration
start the service .
once started , Right Click on the small computer icon (right bottom of your computer screen), or simplly right click on wireless network connections icon.
Go to properties.
click on wireless networks tab - chek the use windows to configure the wireless network settings.
and click ok.
again right click on wireless network connections icon , go to view avialable wireless networks ,
Youll find your network there listed ,click and conenct enter the key..you should be able to go online !
let me know the status then ?
NOTE : wireless network connections would be listed under network connections in your control panel.

• Full repair req where its pick the data in RSA7 or RSA3

Hi,
Full repair request where its pick the data in RSA7 or RSA3.
Regards,
Narasa.

Hi :
Full Repair Request :
First time you will do the Set-up in R/3 .It means you are loading entire full load. When do the repair request it will fetch Data from SSet-up tables.
Here there is no concept of Delta.
Some more Info : http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/bw/regarding-repairful-request.htm
RSA7 :
This is a Delta queue Management. So when you extract the Delta Records to BI RSA7 will send the delta Records to BI.
If you lost delta then you will use repeat Delta. Then RSA7 will come into picture.
RSA 3: This is used only for checking the data at the DS Level.

• Purpose of repair req in InfoPackage? Is there anything like that in DTP?

Hi, can anyone explain me the purpose of repair request and is there naything available similarly in DTP?

Hi,
The flow from ODS to cube is delta's, one fine day we found that some of the records are missed in cube and fine data in ODS level.
Not to disturb the delta's we run Full repair request from ODS to cube. Not that Full repair request is only for ODS not ment for cube.
That means simply you are going to load the missing records from ODS to Cube.
I think u can use the same thing in DTP also.
Regards,
Anand Tej.

• G4 12" 133 won't boot consistantly after repairs

I replaced the optical drive on my PB, and while I was at it replaced the case bottom which was bent, so I had the thing pretty well all the way apart.
I put it together and it started up just fine, and ran a week or so like that, but then started refusing to start. If I push the buttom I get a little grunt from the optical drive, followed by the normal gong noise. But then one of three things will happen:
- nothing. The screen will say dark and there will be no noise from the HD.
- a normal desktop with a message over it saying I have to restart the machine, in several languages, bit when I restart it just does the same thing again.
- a gray screen with a message saying something like:
"Floating Point unavailable at ...
Apple PowerBook 6.4.4, 83 F1 BootROM built on ...
Welcome to Open Firmware...
To continue booting type "mac-boot" and press return"
However, if I type "mac-boot" I get another message,
"ALLOC-MEM request too big!
ok"
and there's no option but to shut down.
I tried all the usual stuff - pmu, pram, desktop, Disk Warrior, most didn't do anything.
It will start on the system CD, and reinstalling the system (10.4.6) got it working normally again, but then after a few days it started acting up again.
Any thoughts? I am about to tear it back down and sell the parts on eBay, but would like to figure out a bit more what the problem is, so I know what parts not to sell.

Hmmm...
The plot thickens. After torture testing the machine for two day, putting it to sleep and waking it, and starting and restarting, everything seemed fine so I decided to reinstall the airport card. Still worked fine with it in, but no inet - the PB wasn't seeing the card at all. Removed and reinstalled the card, and notice there was no resistance as the card seated. So it appears that the connection may have been failing earlier, causing the problems - kernel panic? - I had before, but is now so loose now that the PB just ignores the card altogether.
This turns out to have been a common prob on G4 iBooks, with people using paper to shim the cards for a tighter fit, but I cannot find an reference to it as a problem on the PBs. Guess I got to go back in and see if there's something missing or astray.

• Remote Access Management Console - configuration issue with Network Location Server

John Lenz

Hi John,
please follow the steps to reinstall TCP/IP stack.
1.Restart your PC into Safe Mode with Networking.
2.
Edit your registry. Delete the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock2
3.
Open the nettcpip.inf file in your %winroot%/inf folder
(%winroot% is usually c:/windows).
Find the [MS_TCPIP.PrimaryInstall] section. Change the Characteristics value from 0xA0 to 0x80.
Open the properties of the network connection you want to fix. In the General tab, click on the Install button. Click on the Have Disk button, and point the location to %winroot%/inf. After that select TCP/IP (not version 6).
4.
Now you would notice that you can uninstall TCP/IP!
Do that, then restart the PC.
Go back to your network connection, and install TCP/IP again as per the above. After another reboot, you should be up and running.
I also noted that the XP network repair tool may yank out the ISA 2004 firewall client stuff. Just run the firewall clinet repair or install it again to fix that problem after you did your reboot. Before you do this kind of crazy stuff.
5.
This along with a TCP/IP reset using the netsh command:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
wish you have a nice thanksgiving too
Regards,
Mike

• B-Series Network Connections

I know that there are advantages to using the vNIC capabilities of the VIC M81KR along with the 2100 IO Module up to the 6100 series Fiber Interconnect.
But If the customer was not convinced of the management advantages of the 6100 and the UCS Manager and did not like the idea of having to pay a license fee to turn on the 10Gig ports on the 6100, which essentially doubles the price or more of the 6100, Could we instead do it the old fashion way and put a 10Gig adaptor in each blade and then wire them into a 5548?
I know that it is ugly, but what will they loose doing this?
Thanks.

Richard,
Just to add to what Louis mentioned - Though the blades have individual mezz cards, there are no Chassis switches you'd be able to uplink into your 5500's nor the software to manage the IO modules. The Chassis IO modules are specifically built to work with the fabric interconnects.
With each FI purchased you get the first 8 ports included. The sweet spot for most deployments usually involves 2 uplinks per chassis, this will give provide enough included ports for 3 chassis' (24 blades) with two left for uplinks. Pricing the FI's per port beyond the included 8 help offset the overall cost of the system during initial purchase. We actually take a loss overall until roughly around the 1/2 way mark of ports purchased are reached. Compared to competators, when a new Chassis is purchased you'd also need to purchase a pair of Management modules (iLO/DRAC/RAS), two or more SAN switch modules and two or more ethernet modules. This makes scaling additional compute power extremely expensive. With a new UCS Chassis all you need are two very inexpensive IO modules, which provide everything you need to connect your chassis into your already wired infrastructure (Fabric Interconnects). Yes, you'll need to ensure you have enough licensed ports on the FIs to meet your chassis & uplink requirements, but you're still looking at far less scaling investments in the long run.
The management benefits are one of the key value adds UCS offers over it's competators. I'd be a little concerned why your customer does not see the value added in a single management platform for such a wide scope of devices. Also being able to maintain policies for firmware version, QoS levels, consistent network configurations, BIOS, Boot, etc ensure consistency & security across your compute environment. Having a firm understanding in the management advantages requires understanding UCS differentiators.
There's a reason why many vendor are now following Cisco's lead in a "unified" approach to datacenter infrastructure. It's more efficient, easier to manage and scales well beyond traditional designs.

• No network connection after windows 10 install

No internet connection after windows 10 install- laptop wont recognize any wi-fi networks- repair option on MY ATT has no option for windows 10 system

Hi,
Sorry about that. One other thing to try is to try this in the command prompt:
Start - All Programs - Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt. [For Windows 8 or 10: <Windows Logo> + x - Command Prompt(Admin)]
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
Reboot the machine
If still having issues, you may need to uninstall your network adapter and install it again.

• Help evaluate my airport network

Okay, Guys & Gals, here's my issue:
I have a comcast cable modem right next to my Dual Band Airport Extreme. I have 5 different peripherals including three macs, my Dish receiver & a Slingbox that need to connect together at that location.
In addition, I have an additional Dual Band AE upstairs that extends my network and connects another iMac and a HP USB printer.
This is my current layout. Cable comes into modem. Modem connects to WAN port of AE. 5 peripherals connect to a Cisco 7 port Auto-sensing switch which uploads into LAN port on AE. Upstairs, the iMac and printer connect to network via extended network.
Now here's the thing: The network works, but not well. Sometimes it just flies (as I would expect) and other times there are long 1+ minute delays to connect.
I have attempted manual channel selection on the AE, and automatic. I have tried different security settings. I have switched AE's. I have isolated the cable modem and it seems to work fine if directly connected to a computer.
I have changed radio mode from Automatic to a/n-b/g and back. I have toggled wide channels on/off and have selected and deselected interference robustness. I just don't seem to be able to get a solid, consistent network connection.
Any ideas of something I might be doing wrong? Am I getting collisions in my switch? Nothing is registering and I've got green lights continually.
I'm almost at wit's end here.
Thanks!
Chris

I would venture to say that the problem is most likely with the extended network as being the "weak link" in your network configuration ... and you may find that simply slightly relocating either or both base stations may just be all you will need to resolve it.
I suggest downloading a copy of iStumbler. You will be using iStumbler's Inspector feature (select Edit > Inspector from iStumbler's menu) to make the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) calculations at different points around your house. (Note: This would work best if one of your Macs is a laptop.)
Prior to starting any measurements, power-down the upstairs 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) as we will only want to calculate the SNR values of the downstairs AEBSn's wireless network.
Within the Inspector, you will want to note the values for "signal" & "noise" at each location where we want to determine the SNR value. Start with your Mac near the downstairs AEBSn, note the readings, and then, choose the location near where you currently have the upstairs AEBSn.
SNR is the signal level (in dBm) minus the noise level (in dBm). For example, a signal level of -53dBm measured near an access point and typical noise level of -90dBm yields a SNR of 37dB, a healthy value for wireless LANs.
The SNR, as measured from the laptop, decreases as the range to the base station increases because of applicable free space loss. Also an increase in RF interference from microwave ovens and cordless phones, which increases the noise level, also decreases SNR.
SNR Guideline
o 40dB+ SNR = Excellent signal
o 25dB to 40dB SNR = Very good signal
o 15dB to 25dB SNR = Low signal
o 10dB to 15dB SNR = Very low signal
o 5dB to 10dB SNR = No signal
If the SNR is 25dB+ at both of these locations, then you should be getting reasonable performance from your downstairs AEBSn. Anything less would not be ideal for connectivity ... including the upstairs AEBSn attempt to extend the network.
If the SNR value is less at the upstairs location, try moving around until you can get it in the 25+ dB range of the downstairs unit. This is where you will want to place the upstairs AEBSn.

• Why does my iPhone 5 have so much trouble with network connections?

My iPhone 5 cannot hold a consistent network connection. It jumps all over the place. Back and forth from 4G (att 3G) to EVDO to nothing. I am in areas where my old iPhones have had no problems. I drop calls and have failed downloads everyday. Not what i expected...

I live in NJ. I've had every version of the iPhone. iPhone 5 is the worst. Or is it that AT&T is the worst? I'm still trying to decipher if the problem is the phone or the AT&T network. At times I'll have no bars. My iPhone 5 will go from no bars to the Edge network or vice versa. And I'll have to shut the phone off & turn it back on just to get the bars & 4G back. I don't use the LTE because it drains the **** out of the battery. Another thing I've noticed is that I don't get all my text messages & voicemail notices, at times, hours late. This is very frustrating since I haven't had this problem with any other iPhone that I ever owned. Please help! SIM card change before exchanging the iphone out? PLEASE HELP!

• Couldn't find wired network printer - Reset to factory defaults solved the problem

In the hopes of helping others who may have this problem - I got a new E3000 router and set up everything fine but could not see my Brother HL5250DN wired printer on the network. Tried everything including the Brother "network repair tool", nothing worked. Finally I did a reset of the printer to factory defaults and presto, it appeared on the DHCP table! So if you can't find a device like this try resetting it according the the manufacturer instructions. Pulling the plug or turning it off and on may not be sufficient.
For my 5250 the reset involved turning the printer on while holding the GO button down, then after the LED's go off, press GO six times. Pretty arcane procedure but it worked. Problem solved.

How about you try these troubleshooting steps:
Reboot the router (for 30seconds)
Wait for the power light to blink TWICE
Reboot the router again (for 30 seconds)
Wait for 2-5mins for the power light to get solid
Check then if you can ping the router ; try to configure it
Once the router will respond, try to set it up manually. For further instructions to set it up manually, refer to these links: Setting up a Linksys router with Cable Internet service & Setting up a Linksys router for DSL Internet connection.

• T510 - wired ethernet blocks Internet connection

I'm getting really frustrated with the Lenovo network management system. It seems overly complex and way too slow. In addition, on my home network, the wireless connection always seems to be favoured.
When I plug in my ethernet connection, the system sees it as an unknown connection and promptly drops Internet access (although I can still see my local network). Even if I do manage to fiddle it into working, as soon as I reboot the Internet connection fails again. Doing a network repair does not work. Often, the only way to get Internet access is to unplug the ethernet cable.
I've fiddled around with this for hours. I've played with all of the options, as well as 'include ethernet connection in location change' but to no avail. I just can't get the ethernet connection to work consistently.
This should be dead simple (and is on all my other computers). You just plug the cable in and it works. I'm open to suggestions....

• Hp Color Laserjet pro M177fw won't print double sided anymore

Hello. I have a Hp Color Laserjet pro M177fw until about three weeks ago it would print double sided no problems. I have used this printer on my pc and now my mac with no problems previously. I am running a Macbook Pro (less then six months old) which is running 10.10.1 (Yosemite). I attend college and I know at the end of last quarter during finals week (Dec. 15th) I still had the ability to do 2 sided printing. Sometime between then and the new quarter starting last monday I lost the ability to do 2 sided printing. After scouring the internet I have tried everything they suggest:
Uninstalling printer and reinstalling
resetting the printer setting on the mac and then reinstalling printer
resetting the printer settings on mac, rebooting and then reinstalling printer
installing older drivers( hp automatically installs newest drivers even if you use an older driver file)
resetting physical printer to factory default and reconnecting to wireless network.
repairing the disk permissions
The only new software I have installed on the computer in the last three weeks is Adobe Creative Cloud and the printing problem preexisted that installation.

Hi @Arboria9 ,
I see that you are experiencing issues printing two-sided from Yosemite. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
You have pretty much have done all the steps that I would have provided.
Are you still able to print two-sided from the Windows computer?
Are you missing the option to select two-sided printing in the print driver?
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Officejet 6500)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
How was the printer name listed?
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Have a great day!
