Consuming a sap web service via jde 4.5.7 (ecc 6.0)

Hi all,
I have a question here, if u could help me, i have to call a sap webeservice via jde , but before i test a jde example by calling a public web service which is not a sap web service , i used to  give  url  as:
connThread.get("http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx/GetCitiesByCountry?CountryName="Morocco;deviceside=true";
i was not obliged to set the apn parameters and it does work
here as it's mentioned , there is the access point, getcities ...  the method  name and the parameter name and the parameter value
"Morocco", but i m asking how did we precise the methods  of an rfc sap, and the name parmeter and his value.
have u any idea to help me understand how we call sap rfc, method name, parmaeter name, cz i m a newbie to sap and bb.
but now when i try to call an rfc sap , i give the link
  connThread.get("http://hca-ecc.hca.group:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/sdef_Z_WS/wsdl11/ws_policy/document?sap-client=800;deviceside=true;apn=hca-ecc.hca.group;tunnelauthusername=forma02;tunnelauthpassword=hcaforma" );
but it's always giving me transmission failed without any error that may help me when debugger run.
Thakx in advance.

Hello Merry,
Have you tried searching 'blackberry' in SDN. I found following and many more links. It gives me impression that you may have to use MDS and also may be SAP Webdynpro technology for UI rendering.
blackberry integration with Mobile Infraestructure
There seems to be special site from blackberry for SAP integration (free registration).

Re: Steps to show data on actual Blackberry :) Urgent please....
Hope this will give you some headway in resolving your issues.

  • Consuming SAP web services with tables

I'm doing kind of feasibility study on consuming SAP web
    services from CF.
So far so good, but I'm stuck dealing with tables
    (import/export parameters in SAP world).
I know how to receive a table object from SAP functions:
    * With Apache Axis v1.2: pass an empty CF structure as a
    parameter
    * With Apache Axis v1.4: pass an empty CF array as a
    parameter
Then the parameter is filled with data (replaced with Java
object) and we can just parse the object accordingly.
My question here is whether or not we can pass a *table with
    actual records*.
For example, I want to pass a table with multiple records to
    update DB records under SAP.
I tried passing (1) CF array of structure and (2) Java
    ArrayList with no chance.
The web service call itself completes without errors (no
method signature error), but the SAP function seems to see the
    parameter as an empty table.
Anyone has been successful with this case?
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

    Thanks Dan,
Unfortunately CF query object didn't work either.
Now I'm looking at the code generated by Flex Builder to see
how the classes are like ;-)
It's just an ArrayCollection of simple value objects
    (representing a row).
So CF array of structure or Java ArrayList looks a reasonable
approach though they don't at all.

  • Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling External Sharepoint Web Service from ABAP)

    regards,
    SDS

    Hi SDS,
you recieved a http 404 error when trying to access the Sharepoint Web service. Http 404 indicates that the resource is not reachable (cf. HTTP 404 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). There could be different reasons for that. I'd suggest rubble checking the URL of the Web service first. Try to access it from a browser on you desktop. If the URL is correc. Most likely the SAP system is not able to connect to the URL. This could, for example, be due to some firewall restrictions. You should ask a SAP Basis colleague if they are able to access the URL of the Web service from the server on which the SAP system is running.

  • Wrong data when consuming web service via ABAP

    Dear all,
we tried to consume a web service via ABAP and used one of the various existing how-to papers from the internet in order to develop everything.
The development was not that difficult, but when we now execute our ABAP, we noticed that
    - the first 100 returned rows from the webservice are completely correct
    - then we receive 10-15 completely incorrect rows (empty fields, redundant lines, etc.)
    - the rest of the data (60 records) is correct again
As we nearly all objects have been generated automatically via SE80, I do not really know where this problem might come from. We double checked the original data and there everything is correct.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your feedback,
    Andreas

  • Consuming an External Web Service using HTTPS and WS Security

    Hello everyone,
I'm having a problem setting the security information in a SOAP header using a generated ABAP Client Proxy to consume an external web service that requires a User ID and Password in the Header section of the SOAP message.  I need to use HTTPS. I'm on a WAS 7.01 SP08 system so from my readings, SAP is supposed to be able to add the username and password into the header section of the message.  I can't seem to get SAP to add this information added to the header.
Here are the steps that I have taken to set the security values.
    1) Created the client proxy from the WSDL in SE80.  Basic Authentication on the Configuration tab was turned on automatically.
Note, Transport Security is set to None.  I cannot change it.
    2) Created an outbound set user name profile in transaction WSPROFILE with the appropriate username and password.
    3) Added the profile to the default port in transaction LPCONFIG as an outbound under the WS Security section of the screen.
When I called the external Web Service, I got back the following error message:
com.ibm.wsspi.wssecurity.SoapSecurityException: WSEC5509E: A security token whose type is [http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#UsernameToken] is required.
So, after reading through this Forum, I saw that I needed to use the SOAMANAGER.  I set up a Proxy in the SOAMANAGER and manually created the Logical Port.  This was the only way I could figure out how to set the Authentication Settings in the Logical Port to "User ID / Password".  I then entered the User ID and Password.
However, I am still getting the same error message.  I feel I am close but missing some small configuration to tell SAP to use WS Security with a Username token.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Stephen

I had this error again so I thought I would post my solution:
The issue is SAP needs to know the certificates being used by the web site being called.  These certificates are automatically installed in your browser but need to be manually installed in SAP.  This is what I did:
    How to find/install new certificates
Make sure you run Internet Explorer as an Administrator so you can export the certificates
Go to the web site that SAP is trying to call in Internet Explorer
Double click on the lock in the address bar
    View certificates
Find the certificates that are being used
Tools --> Internet Options --> Content --> Certificates
Click on the “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” tab
Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
Click on the “Intermediate Certification Authorities” tab
Find the certificate identified in step iii
    Export as a CER certificate
    Go to STRUST in SAP
Import the Certificates in the “Anonymous” or “Standard” SSL client
    Save
RESTART the ICM via t-code SMICM  <-- Critical!!!

  • Consume an external web service with an ABAP proxy

    Hello,
I'm working on creating an ABAP Proxy to consume my first web service.  In searching SCN I haven't found a comprehensive list of steps to complete the process, but I have found information on generating a proxy from a WSDL and creating a logical port.
My first issue arises when I go to SPROXY to generate a proxy from a WSDL, I see the message 'Local objects only (No Connection to ESR)', and I have no ability to 'create'.  The Enterprise Service Repository seems to be the new name for the Integration Repository, if that helps.  Do I need the ESR installed to create a proxy?
A follow-on question, assuming I do need the ESR, would be what do I do with it?  It appears to serve the purpose of design for interfaces, messages, and mapping, but I thought that happened when I created a proxy in SPROXY.
We're on ECC 6.0, with a 702 / 0007 basis release.  I appreciate and light you can shed on the topic.
    Thanks

ESR is part of the PI system, and it is where all interfaces details are stored. You could create an ABAP Proxy from a pre-defined WDSL yet stored in PI as part of some communication, but you can also import directly a WSDL from a local file or even from a URL.
ABAP proxy generates a proxy class and a set of abap structures , fields and data elements. Simply by filling the data and call a method in the proxy class (depends of syncrhonization a different method name) you can consume your service. No PI is needed if you use the local option.
There is a very good Tutorial from Thomas Jung. I'll try to find it.

  • Help: consuming an external web service with user name token

    Hello Together!
I need to consume an external web service secured with WS-UserNameToken. The way, how did I do it:
    1. I generated a web service consumer (proxy) in SE80 from the wsdl file
    2. I created logical port for the consumer in SOAMANAGER
    3. I created security profile in WSSPROFILE with telpmate SET_USERNAME and assigned it to consumer operation in LPCONFIG  (I use LPCONFIG, because I didn't find any way to do it in SOAMANAGER)
    3. I called the web service and got the error back:  session token is missing or invalid or has inspired
    My questions are:
    1. is this possible to consume an external webservice in SAP, which is secured with WS-Usernametoken?
    2. do I need therefore any settings in java stack? do I need java stack in general?
    3. Is this any way to configure the consumer without writing programs, which set header parameter manually?
    4. if the answer on the third question is no, do you have any examples, how to implement session management in report? (I mean sending session id and checking the validaty of id)
I appriciate any help of you!
    best regards Anna

    Hi,
it should be possible to use WS-UserNameToken for consuming web service. It should be available on AS BAP 7.0 and higher. This profile should be under category Document authentication. You can try to dump a message send from SAP to see what is going out of SAP. This should be supported in ABAP so you don't need a Java stack. What exactly do you want to configure? Do you want to just set user name and password for that service which will be used for any calls of that proxy?
    Cheers

  • Calling web service via SSL

    Hi,
I do not succeed in calling a web service via SSL from within a Web Dynpro application.
Current settings of my logical port:
    Target Address: https://...
    Authentication: HTTP authentication, basic (username/password)
I do call methods _setUser and _setPassword to set userid and password before calling method execute() of my modelclass.
On calling method execute(), I get message "Connection closed by remote host".
    Any suggestions ?
    Many thanks.
    Jorgen

    Can you check the following?
    1) Did you install the SAP Cryptographic toolkit for Java available from service.sap.com?
    2) Did you install the "Java Cryptography Extension (JCE)
Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files 1.4.2". For Sun they are available here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html (last item on page)
    3) How is the SSL server configured? Does it require client authentication? In this case you must send a client certificate.

  • Consuming an external web service with WAS 6.40

    Hi all,
I know this thread isn’t 100% XI forum related, my apologies for that. However, I believe somebody here has experience with this subject.
I’m trying to consume an external web service through WAS 6.40 with se80. When I try to create my proxy object <u>“package Choose Create > Enterprise Service / Web Service > Proxy Object > URL type</u>”, I receive an error message (SPRX084) -> <i>During proxy generation, an interface description in WSDL format is fetched from the integration builder or from another source and interpreted. This WSDL document must describe the whole interface correctly.</i>
I don’t have sure, but it seams something within WSDL object/element. Nevertheless, these external web services are working well with other third party client applications, why SAP WAS can’t take this WSDL?
Anyone has faced an issue like this one?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    Hi,
some tools do not generate WSDLs correcty (not with all the standards
or with obsolete parts) and then in ABAP you cannot generate a proxy from it
you should be able to see the some more details in disgnosis section
sometimes you just have to change one or two things in the WSDL
and it will be ok for WAS but you need to find the exect cause
of the error - it can be done by debugging

  • How to use SAP Router String with SAP Web Services

    Hi All,
I have developed an SAP Web Service and I'm using it from a vb.net dll by using web reference.
I want to use an SAP Router string when I try to call web service but I don't how to do it.Should the url of my proxy contain this router string in itself or is there any other attribute that I should configure for this purpose?
    Please help!!!
    MERAL
My code is as in the followings .
(And my SAP router string is like /H/111.11.111.11/H/)
    Dim srvProxy As New PSUDamacanaProxy4.Z_SDB_RFC_GetList
                srvProxy.Url = s"http://21.11.1.43:8000/sap/bc/soap/rfc"
                srvProxy.Timeout = 10000
                srvProxy.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential(strUserName, strPassword)
srvProxy.Z_SDB_RFC_GetList(p_bayi, durum, True, miktar, telefon, expMusteri, expReturnValue, expSiparis, expTeslimat, expAdSoyad)
                musteriAdSoyad = expAdSoyad
                ReturnValue = expReturnValue
                srvProxy.Dispose()
                srvProxy = Nothing

Since I posted this question, I have abandoned the notion of
auto-generated web services and embraced the good old FDS concept
where the RemoteObject meta-tag does all the conversion work for
me. We are now using the Granite DS package and it is working well
for us. I would love to consume web services, but it just isn't
worth the hassle when all you have to do with Granite (and FDS) is
cast your return objects to the proper object type.
BTW, since this posting, I have investigated competing Flex
app frameworks. After my research, I checked out the PureMVC
framework. Wow!! Cairngorm always left me with an uneasy feeling
and I guess I am not alone. Apparently, Cliff Hall felt the same
way. That is why he started the project. I like his approach alot
more than Cairngorm especially since it includes notifications
which allow me to broadcast my own app level events independent
from the AS Event framework. Check out PureMVC. For what it is
worth, it has my humble endorsement. Cliff was even gracious enough
to acknowledge the other Adobe Consulting guys for their work. Good
for you Cliff, I respect that. Check out a better way at

  • Serialization error in SAP Web Service.

    Hi all,
I have exposed a custom RFC as a Web Service. This is a simple web service that returns Customer Data (from kna1) based on the Customer ID which we provide as input.
In the RFC, I have declared an internal table (G_RET) in the tables section of the RFC.
Now, while testing the web service, I can see a check box with NULL option beside the G_RET. If i check the NULL option for G_RET, I get an error.
XML Serialization Error. Array Property [Item] in class [none] must not have NULL elements. This is restricted by schema description.
This is a high priority task. Please reply to me with any solution that you may have.
    Regards,
    Preksha.

Your problem has nothing to do with SAP web service. When you expose a RFC function as a web service, you are defining a service contract using WSDL technologies and XML message format enforced by the schema definition associated with the data source.
When a system consume a web service it is upto that system to provide a client framework so that it can provide an implementation enforces by the WSDL contract. Contract terms in WSDL is only applicable to data types, message types, access style and ecoding.
It is upto the client framework to provide a mechanism to send and receive the data as per the contract.
In your case, you are using a Microsoft client, so MS implementation of web service technology play a big role here.
C# XML serialization class from the MS client program you are using to call the program, read the WSDL contract and try to understand the definition and terms and conditions of the messages, types, binding.
In your WSDL you may have constraints applied at each field level of the schemas associated with the input and output messages of the web service methods.
Unfortunatly the way C# XML serialization class understand the terms and condition is confusing and it create a rum time error.
Having said this all stories now let us get into practical way.
    1. Test ur web service using a non MS client
    2. Make sure it is working, this isolate your issues to the way client understanding the WSDL contracts.
    3. Then work with some MS guys in your shop to address this issue.
From your post I hope you are a candidate having experience in working with SAP customization project. However when ever you deal with open technologies such as JAVA, Web Services, it is highly recomended to think outside the BUNN.
AS SAP move towards more open technologies such as JAVA, WSDL, SOAP, WS, XML, XSD it is very important to elaborate your knowledge beyond the scope of a customization project.
    Thanks

  • How to consume the Abap web service in Java web-dynpro

    Hi Everyone,
I want to consume ABAP web service in java web dynpro.
so when i tried to create model in java web-dynpro, it gave me an error message saying "Invalid WSDL or WSDL not found".
i think this error message is because, to access the WSDL of abap web-service, we need username and password, but the dialog box in java web-dynpro is not programmed to take username and password from us and send it to the server to get the WSDL.
i came to this conclusion because i was able to successfully test my abap web-service in java portal. the java portal asked me the username and password to open the WSDL.
So, please help me to consume the abap web service in java web-dynpro.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas ,
while creating a model in web-dynpro try to use the "import web service model" option and if you are using local server choose the local server option so that you can get the available web services which are in server, select one among them and continue you process.I think this is the some what easy way .
If you want use the URL for wsdl better to once test the available service in server and copy that WSDL URL and paste over  WSDL textbox.
I think this is pretty help ful to you
