    I need to upload into configurator an app I got when it was free, however I can't PURCHASE the app as it thinks I already have it in my VPP account. I am using TWO MacBooks and TWO configurator profiles - one on each MacBook, BUT one school VPP apple ID in iTunes. I downloaded this app when it was free and put it into ONE configurator account, but I now want to put it into the other account on the other MacBook. I understand I need to pay for the app and get codes, however as it is already downloaded into my VPP iTunes, it comes up as downloaded and I don't know how to redeem codes or pay for it? Please advise. Thank you.

    Change App Store
    1. Tap "Settings"
    2. Tap "iTunes & App Stores"
    3. Tap on your Apple ID
    4.Tap "View Apple ID"
    5. Enter your user name and password.

    This is strange Case!
    We have been authorized to download 40 copies of a VPP app.  The price tier is free.  We download the app through itunes and load it into configurator.  Because the App is free we are not given the option to load the codes which we rightfully own.
    The devices we wish to configure will not have internet connectivity in the future and I need to know that the app on them will not expire!

  • Can't import Excel spreasheet into configurator.

    I just updated to Apple Configurator 1.4  and OS X 10.8.5 and I can't seem to upload my VPP codes.  When I click to add the codes, the spreadsheet is greyed out and I can't click on it to import it into configurator.  I have also tried resaving the .xlsx file to an .xls file (this has worked for me in the past), but it didn't seem to matter.  I have also tried restarting, with the same result.  I am probably missing a simple step, but I am stumped.  Any advice or solutions?

    What a  frustrating experience.  I finally figured it out but it seems very buggy.
    I could not see any of the fields for mapping in MS-Project because the worksheet name in Excel I was using had a space in it (what is this Windows 3.1?).
    I actually ended up using the same format for the name as what is generated from the MS-Project export "Tasks_Table1".
    The next issue I had is I could not get predecessors to work.
    The problem there was the cell number format.  Although it was set to General, which was the same as the format generated by the MS-Project exported excel file, I had to set the format to text for this to work.
    Seems to work OK now...

  • How do I enter codes purchased through the Volume purchase plan into Configurator?, How do I enter codes purchased through the Volume purchase plan into Configurator?, How do I enter codes purchased through the Volume purchase plan into Configurator?

    How do I enter codes purchased through the Volume Purchas site into Configurator so I may load them onto ipads on a cart?

    There is no short answer.
    I've created a 10 page tip sheet. See the link a the bottom
    I have to guess how many steps you've done, so this advice may be starting in the wrong spot.
    =============================
    a) I assume you used appleid of the faciltator who buys VPP apps on the VPP portal and then downloads the XLS file of codes (done)
    b) I assume you have an appleid of another user. That appleid must be setup in itunes on the laptop/desktop with Osx10.8.  You then launch itunes and use itunes redeem link to get one copy of the paid app.  The code for that redeem link comes from your your spreadsheet from step A. Copy and paste from excel or use googlge docs to copy/paste the code.
    ==========================
    itunes now has downloaded on copy of the paid app (stored in your documents folder, deep in your itunes folder of  your laptop/desktop)  Open configurator and hit the plus icon in configurator and that app is added to your list of apps with the licence count set to 1.
    Now comes one more not so obvious step, LOgon to the VPP portal and download the XLS file again with all the codes.
    In configurator click the mouse on the number 1 in your count of licenses.   That will bring up a set of dialogs to import the 2nd version of your XLS codes.  When that is done your count goes from 1 to x, where x might be 50 codes.
    All of what I've posted here is documented by apple in several KB articles and their 80 page guide, or you can just read my 10 page tip sheet below...

  • Build Extension Configuration / Deployment Extension Configuration

    Hello,
    I've been following the tutorial to build a Deployment Plan Modifier here (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn268597%28v=vs.103%29.aspx), and I saw this post (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ssdt/archive/2013/06/24/announcing-sql-server-data-tools-june-2013.aspx)
    that describes the addition of Build Extension Configuration and Deployment Extension Configuration files to  SSDT projects. I get the impression that maybe these files could be used to pass configuration information to a Deployment Plan Modifier, such
    as to define a custom upgrade action on a table.
    I cannot find any documentation that describes the purpose of Deployment Extension Configurations or how to create and use them (I have looked through SSDT documentation, blog posts etc.). Ideally, there should be documentation and a walk through available
    on MSDN for this. Has anybody else used them? Can anybody give an example of how to use them or point me in the direction of some documentation?
    Thanks
    Lipod

    Hi Lipod, your best place to get started with contributors is our
    API tutorial (see Solution 2: Filtering at deployment time) and our
    dacsamples project on Codeplex. These have more samples than the walkthrough and I think will be more useful in helping you get up and running.
    However, having taken a look at those they still don't cover Deployment Extension Configuration files so I'll do my best to explain here. Note: the next paragraph will probably answer your needs, I'm writing more in case others want to know how these can
    be used.
    Configuration with Deployment Contributor Arguments
    Deployment Contributor Arguments are key-value pairs that you would generally use to configure your contributor. A good example is the
    test code here, that shows how to configure whether ONLINE and MAXDOP values should be set when creating indexes. This is generally how you pass in simple configuration information and what we use in the samples.
    It's likely this will solve your requirements.
    Configuration with Deployment Extension Configuration Files
    Deployment Configuration Files define files that you'd like your contributor to process (note: this happens at build time), and possibly include in the dacpac for processing at the time your contributor runs. The best
    example of why you'd use this is if you wanted to include reference data (e.g. data to fill in a ZipCode table) in the dacpac and then add this to the deployment plan.
    To include these at build time you must define these in your .sqlproj file and also specify that your deployment contributor is required (e.g. include the <DeploymentContributors>...</DeploymentContributors> section per the
    walkthrough).
    You must also implement the
    OnEstablishDeploymentConfiguration and
    OnApplyDeploymentConfiguration methods.
    OnEstablish... runs at build time (project build or when building using the public APIs, which you can use for testing). The important thing to note is we don't save everything into the dacpac by default - you need to "opt in" by either
    copying an input file to the output "as is" or
    creating a new output file and saving data there. A good example of why this happens is that our pre/post deployment contributors merge multiple files into one single predeploy.sql/postdeploy.sql file.
    OnApply... runs at the start of the deployment process and gives you a chance to setup your contributor based on the config files in the dacpac. If you copied an input file/opened an output file it'll be in the dacpac, and now is your chance to get it out.
    You can then use it later during the Execute phase.
    If you're wondering "why not let me just read my files during OnExecute", really this comes down to a design decision based on ensuring deployment proceeds reliably and all resources are released correctly, with no conflicts on who has access
    to a resource.
    For the example of reference data, you would:
    - Define the "DeployReferenceData" contributor in your project, and specify the deployment configuration files.
    - The contributor would read reference data files during OnEstablish and state they should be saved in the dacpac.
    - During build the OnEstablish method will be called (since you specified your contributor's name in the project properties) and the files are saved into the dacpac. It's a zip file, so you can verify that a folder containing the files exists inside the
    dacpac.
    - At deploy time, during OnApply it would read all reference data files out into memory / file storage if too large. It would also set up some kind of reference to their location or even a nice mapping table (table name -> Reference data).
    - At deploy time, during OnExecute it would then add in DeploymentSteps that update the data in the tables using TSQL code. Note that this is another limitation of the current system - we don't suport a generic "Execute" method that could programmatically
    be used to deploy a BCP file, for example. If this is something you need, please open a Connect ticket :-)
    - At deploy time, all steps in the plan are executed. Assuming you programmed your TSQL code to use Merge statements or another idempotent process the update should go correctly. If you wrote "Insert" statements there's a good chance it would fail
    on a 2nd deployment.
    Conclusions
    The key takeaways are that contributor arguments should solve most of your problems, but for advanced scenarios involving data that can't be defined in a key-value pair of strings then config files are a good alternative. They have some limitations
    but provide great power to solve problems. Also the samples are a good place to start for all of this work.
    If you have requests for additional samples in this area, or for improvements to the API layer, then open Connect bugs with a good scenario description and we will at least keep this as open issues to be tracked for possible future improvements.

    Kevin

  • Automake: `configure.ac' or `configure.in' is required (???)

    Hi,
      I was trying to compile a package from scratch, but run into a problem.
      The package would be the baobab disk space analyser of Gnome, and the svn version of it.
      It has a Makefile.am, containing:
    ## Process this file with automake to produce Makefile.in
    SUBDIRS = src data pixmaps help
    where all the mentioned subdirectories have their respective Makefile.am properly set up.
      However, when I try to run automake, it stops with the error message:
    automake: `configure.ac' or `configure.in' is required
    Isn't configure.ac or configure.in needed by autoconf and not automake? The dir does not have those, that's for sure, but I think others' still been able to compile this....
    Any suggestions? Tried to reinstall automake (suggested by others for various problems on various other forums) but still the same...
    Cheers!

    Okay, then create a Makefile.cvs in the kerry dir with these contents, and try again:
    all:
    @echo "This Makefile is only for the CVS repository"
    @echo "This will be deleted before making the distribution"
    @echo ""
    @if test ! -d admin; then
    echo "Please recheckout this module!" ;
    echo "for cvs: use checkout once and after that update again" ;
    echo "for cvsup: checkout kde-common from cvsup and" ;
    echo " link kde-common/admin to ./admin" ;
    exit 1 ;
    fi
    $(MAKE) -f admin/Makefile.common cvs

  • Difference between configurable and non configurable finished goods master

    Hi
    Pl explain the difference between configurable and non configurable finished goods master data.
    Thanks
    kamala

    Hi,
    Configurable material are used when you have a large number of combination of parts that go into a product. It means different combinations of the parts for same material. If you maintain a unique material code for each combination , you require a large number of material numbers. KMAT is used in such a case where you maintain just one generic product code. You assign class to this material having all variant characteristics.
    A super BOM is maintained for such a material consisting of all possible alternatives. A super routing is also maintained consisting of all possible operations that could be used.
    Typically configurable material is used in Made To Order (MTO) environment. However frequently ordered configurations may be planned with a material variant which needs to have a material master record. Thus Material variants may have stock and value. Depending upon characteristic values chosen at sales order entry Sales Order BOM is created. Routing operations are also chosen depending upon which BOM components are assigned to them.
    Non configurable materials are like finish, semi finish materials having fixed BOM.  A separate/single BOM exits for every finish material.
    Revert back for more info.
    thanks and regards,
    Man

    Hi,
    I guess I've seen this before even we've repository and incremental backup configured fine on ACS. One reason could be for the above alarms is the configuration on the GUI might not have taken over completely in the database and alarms will trigger due to that. Please restart the services of the ACS or reload the ACS in off production hours.

    http://www.azurecurve.co.uk/2012/02/how-to-configure-sql-server-reporting-services-in-order-to-deploy-reporting-services-reports-in-gp/
    what is the problem
    Plz give suggestion quickly

    Hi tusharshinde,
    Per my understanding that when you log in the report Manager you got the pop-up window ask for credential, you try to enter  the SA account and the window account as the username and password but both not work, right?
    Your issue related to the authentication. As you mentioned you have choose the ”Network Service” as the Service account, generally using this account in RSCM and RSWindowsNegotiate is added to the RSReportServer.config file as the default setting. With this
    setting, the report server can accept requests from client applications requesting Kerberos or NTLM authentication. If Kerberos is requested and the authentication fails, the report server switches to NTLM authentication and prompts the user for credentials
    unless the network is configured to manage authentication transparently.
    The issue can be caused by many factors and please check one by one.
    Did you enter the username and password for three times and got blank page or got some error? If you got some error, please provide the error information.
    you can delete the specific Authorization Types inside rsreportserver.config  file, open path:” \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config”.
    Search the file for the “AuthenticationTypes” section. Remove RSWindowsNegotiate and RSWindoeBasic to ensure only “RSWindowsNTLM” is specified in the file rsreportserver.config file.
    Before do any modification, back up the files and remember to restart the ReportServer instance in the RSCM after the modification.
    If step1 doesn’t work ,please also do the trusted Site Setting in the Browser, article with details steps for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630430.aspx
    Please check the Report Manager's authentication mode.Have a look in the Report Manager's web.config file to check if you can find below information under the <system.web> (Path is “C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting
    Services\ReportManager\Web.config ” ).
    authentication mode="Windows"
    identity impersonate="True"

    Please tried to provide us more details information, if the problem still exists:
    Did you login in the report manager locally or remotely via Browser and which URL you are using to login the Report manager?
    Did you modified some configuration file before and what did you modified?
    Did your windows account have the right permission to access the report manager?
    Any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Difference between component configuration and application configuration in webdynpro

    what is the difference between component configuration and application configuration in webdynpro?

    Hi Rohit,
    With the component configuration, you can control the behavior of each individual component within a Web Dynpro application or the user interface of individual views. For each component, several records of configuration data can be created.
    Using the application configuration, it is now possible to assign the configuration required in the current application to all the components used.
    In short : Component Config belongs to WDP Component and Appl'n Config. belongs to WDP Appl'n.

    Hi Experts,
    With out Controlling module configurations, can we Configure PP module directly?
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Hi,
    Yes you can configure PP with out CO but you will not get Product Costing results for the materials used.
    You will not be able to link Activities, Cost Centers, Over Heads which are production activities.
    Cost Analyisis for the Order will not be possible.
    To say in brief Cost related entries or break up is not possible if CO is not implemented.

  • SOLAR02 Configuration structure versus Configuration tab

    SOLAR02 offers two approaches to implement configuration in solution manager project tools:
    maintain configuration structure (you find this in hierarchy tree on left-handside)
    OR
    configuration TAB on Business Scenario, Business process and Business Process step levels
    configuration TAB on master data and organizational data nodes
    What is the point having so many options?
    Why would I use the Configuration structure option instead of configuration TABs? Examples of using Configuration structure?
    Best practises???
    br: Kim

    Thanks Michael,
    I understand your point, but does projects really do that way? I mean that configuration is scattered partly in configuration structure (for common configurations) and partly within different levels of project structure and Organizational and Master data.
    Has anybody choosen to consolidate all configuration in just configuration structure, where it will be easy to locate rather than finding pieces there and pieces here.
