Contact Form Scripting

I purchased a template via template monster.
I'm currently trying to get the contact form to work.
I know it's an easy fix, but I'm a little new to Dreamweaver.
Here is the fla and the asp file
the script corresponds to text 53 in fla
http://files.filefront.com/Contact+Helpzip/;13200631;/fileinfo.html
Help would be appreciated.

Template Monster is where you will get the best help. Most
people here who
could suggest a solution are highly unlikely to ever use a
template from TM.
They sold it to you, they should support it.

  • Contact form smtp authentication

    I think Muse should take into account that the contact form script needs changing for those self hosting and require smtp authentication to be applied. It could be a simple addition to the edit form dialogue box where smtp authentication details can be added

    Someone told me that its because my class has a constructor in it. He said its a requirement (no-arg CONSTRUCTOR) if i'll use the code as a java bean.
    This is my constructor which i need to change to a method or something. Can anybody help me do the conversion to a method. I find it very difficult. Sorry. This is the constructor;
    public MyPasswordAuthenticator (String username, String password)
    super();
    this.user = username;
    this.pw = password;
    Thank you very much.

  • Need help with PHP contact form

    Hi guys,
    I've made a PHP contact form for my site and need help with a couple of things:
    The form action links an external PHP script (scripts/contact-form-script.php) but is there a way I can have it so the PHP script for the form is contained within the same PHP file as my contact form (contact.php)?
    I tried just putting the form code at the top of contact.php but the browser automatically reads the anti-spam re-direct, so maybe that needs revising too?
    The second thing is, how can I make the Name, Email and Message fields mandatory? So if a user tries to submit the form and hasn't filled in one of the required fields and clicks submit, contact.php reloads with a message at the top of the form saying something like 'Complete the required fields' and highlights the relevant field with a red border?
    Here's the code for contact.php:
    <form action="http://www.mydomain.com/scripts/contact-form-script.php" method="post" name="contact" id="contact">
    <p><strong>Name:*</strong><br />
    <input name="name" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>E-mail:*</strong><br />
    <input name="email" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>Telephone:</strong><br />
    <input name="telephone" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>Company:</strong><br />
    <input name="company" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>Address:</strong><br />
    <input name="address1" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><input name="address2" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>Town:</strong><br />
    <input name="town" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>County:</strong><br />
    <input name="county" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    p><strong>Postcode:</strong><br />
    <input name="postcode" type="text" class="ctextField" /></p>
    <p><strong>Message:*</strong><br />
    <textarea name="message" cols="55" rows="8" class="ctextField"></textarea></p>
    <p><input name="submit" value="SEND MESSAGE" class="submitButton" type="submit" /><div style="visibility:hidden; width:1px; height:1px"><input name="url" type="text" size="45" id="url" /></div></p>
    </form>
    And this is the PHP I'm using to submit the form data for contact-form-script.php:
    <?php
    $headers .= "Reply-To: " . $_POST["email"] . "\r\n";
    $to = "[email protected]";
    $subject = "Contact from website";
    $message = $headers;
    $message .= "Name: " . $_POST["name"] . "\r\n";
    $message .= "E-mail: " . $_POST["email"] . "\r\n";

  • DW CS5, Sending contact form results to email with page redirection using php script

    I am currently building a site from scratch with Dreamweaver, with the intent of replacing my current website layout that was designed using Intuit's website builder. My dreamweaver site is not online, but i have setup a local test server on my computer, using XAMPP, and i have an apache server with a MySQL database and a mercury mailserver running. I mention that in case it makes a difference in your answers. If necessary, I can include those settings, but that may be asking too much.
    I have an html contact form for users to schedule service appointments. I need the resulting actioned php file to do the following after submit is clicked: verify certain fields have been entered; prevent spammers or verify human visitors; send the form results to a (hidden from public view of any kind) email address; redirect user to a confirmation page, or an error page.
    I found the following code but being less than a newbie im not sure what needs to be changed, or if its even the right script i should be using:
    5 <?php
    6 $email = $_POST['email'];
    7 $mailto = '[email protected]';
    8 $mailsubj = 'You Have a Service Request';
    9 $url = '/MyLandingPage.html';
    10 $req = '0';
    11 $mailbody = "Results from form:\r\n";
    12 $space = ' ';
    13 $line = '
    14 ';
    15 foreach ($_POST as $key => $value)
    16 {
    17 if ($req == '1')
    18 {
    19 if ($value == '')
    20 {echo "$key is empty";die;}
    21 }
    22 $j = strlen($key);
    23 if ($j >= 20)
    24 {echo "Name of form element $key cannot be longer than 20 characters";die;}
    25 $j = 20 - $j;
    26 for ($i = 1; $i <= $j; $i++)
    27 {$space .= ' ';}
    28 $value = str_replace('\r\n', "$line", $value);
    29 $conc = "{$key}:$space{$value}$line";
    30 $text .= $conc;
    31 $space = ' ';
    32 }
    33 mail($emailadd, $subject, $text, 'From: '.$emailadd.'');
    34 echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL='.$url.'">';
    35 ?>
    Can anyone please illuminate me on what I need?
    Thank You in advance

    Take a read here, this might enlighten you a little.

    You are doing this with your local testing server, is it set up to email?

  • Where does the MySQL script go within Muse to allow contact forms to work?

    After having no problem with contact forms they've stopped working with the latest release?
    I use a third party host/email service (not BC) and need to resolve this for myself and a clients website.
    I've used the /scripts/form_check.php and only the MySQL has a cross against it, so I created a database via my hosting company. But nothing improved, I contacted their support department and they suggest adding the MySQL Script to the site - but how and where?

    You can't. That's the short answer.
    Muse and BC don't support php or MySQL. So external databases etc. won't work unless you're clever enough to create a really nifty web app (which requires BC hosting, I understand), and even that, I'm not sure would enable you to integrate 3rd party MySQL databases... I'm not clever enough, so I don't know! :P
    What I do know is all you should need to do is build the contact form in either Muse or BC and either use a BC database (if you opt to host the site with BC and on the Marketing or above plan) or simply tell the form to send the submitted info to your client's e-mail address.
    That's all done either in Muse if you build the form with Muse, or in BC if not.
    So since you say you're hosting with a third party, my suggestion is the simplest option; build the form in Muse and in the options for the form, tell it to e-mail submissions to your client's address. Should be that straight forward really... No need to fiddle.
    (Although, if you're looking to compile a database of form submissions, then that may have to be done manually, or hard coding on the server side might need to be done.... Again, out of my league!)
    If you've already tried the simple Muse form approach then I apologise if I've insulted your intelligence, and I'd put it down to the latest version of Muse being fairly buggy. I'm still waiting for a response to my issues with publishing to BC, which at the moment means I can't commit to delivery timeframes and could lose out on business as a result...
    I think a lot of us are feeling the sting at the moment with some of these bugs, so all I can say on that front is to hang in there and keep hoping someone far cleverer than me will respond! :)

  • Problems with php script in the contact form

    Hello, I am from the Czech Republic and I am not a coder. I have 2 problems with my php sript. I am using a simple php script from Paul Trani, see below.
    Firstly the email adress - when someone inserts an email adress in this form [email protected] it is OK, but when someone writes an address for example [email protected] (this type of adress is very common in our country) the answer is "That is not a valid email address.  Please return to the previous page and try again." I think the problem is the dot before the @.
    Secondly diacritical marks - Since I am from the Czech Republic we use diacritical marks (for example š,č,ř,ž,á,í,é,ě) so instead of this letters a get ? or Å&#153; or Å¡ to my email.
    I really do not know how to fix these problems.
    Thank you for any help. Sorry for my English. Peter

    ereg() has been deprecated, it is recommended that you dont use it.
    You want to look at this
    http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.preg-match.php
    Within this page I found this:
    If you need to check for .com.br and .com.au and .uk and all the other crazy domain endings i found the following expression works well if you want to validate an email address. Its quite generous in what it will allow
    <?php
            $email_address = "phil.taylor@a_domain.tv";
         if (preg_match("/^[^@]*@[^@]*\.[^@]*$/", $email_address)) {
             return "E-mail address";
    ?>

  • Create HTML Contact Form with PHP script

    Hi Everyone
    I have designed a contact form in HTML with PHP script but it doesn't seem to be working. The PHP echo message doesn't appear after I submit the form and the e-mail message is not delivered.  The url address is http://www.dreamaustraliastudytours.com.au/Test/ContactUs.html. Any thoughts would be greatly apprecipated
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Ben and Murray
    Thank you for your input on the php script. You nailed the problem on the head. I have up dated the script  and provided it below. I have one more question.
    After the end user submits the form I would like them to be directed to another html file - for example successful.html. Would the code be
    $insertGoTo = "successful.html";
    delete 'Thank you for contacting us. We will be in touch with you very soon.'?
    Once again thank you for your advice

  • Email Contact Form : Form Script Error PHP

    Hi there,
    Just finished creating my site and it is now live. This is my first time making a website and uploading it to a server. I have a contact form on the site and when I tested it, I got this warning (blue box just blocks website name for safety):
    As well, when I exported the HTML from Muse so I could upload it to the server, I got this warning (blue boxes just blocks email and website for safety):
    I am not sure how to fix this as this contact page is something very important for me to have. I use Gmail for my email that will be receiving the contact form entries.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    I actually got it working! I got in contact with my server and they seem to have fixed the issue!
    I had it uploaded to business catalyst originally and this issue was not happening.
    Thanks for your help though,
    Jonathan

    Making the HTML form is easy but the form processing script which collects data & sends it to your email is not quite so simple.   Start with your web host.  Ask them if they have form-to-email processing scripts you can use.  If they don't, find out which scripts your hosting plan supports (php, asp, asp.net, perl, coldfusion, etc...)

  • Contact Form: How do i create a link from an XML file to another domain to read a PHP File

    So i purchased a template from Template Monster and im having a little trouble with the contact form. The server that im uploading it to is a privite server that the company owns. It supports ASP and not PHP. I cant seem to get the ASP form to work so all i want to do it create a link to another one of there servers that supports PHP and have the contact form link to there and read the PHP file (that i will upload to that server) and send the email from there.
    This is the XML that i have to fill in in order to make it work
    Everything in Red is what i needed to fill out in order for the form to work.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

            This readme file explains in details the meaning of the settings that can be
            done in the fcContactFormConfiguration.xml configuration file.
            It is recommended for you to use an XML editor to make changes to this file
             because it’s less possible to make an error in the markup which can cause to
            a not working contact form.

    You can open both Muse files at once, copy the content of a page on one site, then paste it into a new page on the other site. You might have to redo some of the page styling.

  • Third party contact form widgets no longer working with upgrade - PHP errors

    PHP seems to be even more screwed up with the latest update/upgrade to Muse.  The previous upgrade started producing the following error message when I uploaded my site via FTP:
    "1 Warning - Connection to PHP file failed. Unable to check if this web server supports PHP needed by Muse forms. Be sure the domain name entered in the FTP upload dialog is correct."
    However, everything worked and in participating in some queries here, it seemed to be an oddity versus anything serious (things still worked but an error message popped up for no real discernible reason)
    Since the latest update, however, widgets that I have from two different companies for the purpose of emailing me through the website, sending messages, etc, are no longer working and the following message is displayed upon hitting "submit"
    " Form PHP script is missing from web server, or PHP is not configured correctly on your web hosting provider. Check if the form PHP script has been uploaded correctly, then contact your hosting provider about PHP configuration."
    In checking with my web host provider, I was told
    "the page appears to use the script form-u31652.php which does exist on the
    server.
    Unfortunately that error is not specific enough to point us in the right
    direction. PHP is indeed working on the server. However, looking at the
    apache web server error logs I can see that the contact form appears to be
    looking for a file that does not exist.
    To trouble shoot this issue you will want to work with Muse to determine
    why the sites coding is looking for the file
    /usr/home/NAME/public_html/WEBSITE.com/null."
    Any ideas what this means and how to solve this would be great. I've tried re-uploading the entire website, figuring that maybe something wasn't being uploaded via "Modified Only" but it still is happening
    Thanks!

    That isn't what ended up fixing it, Sanjit. Thanks to this article PHP FAQ for Muse Synchronized Text and help from an online representative from Adobe, was able to troubleshoot with my web provider. Turns out the problem was that a while back Muse deleted the fcgi-bin directory (probably during the previous upgrade, as that is when the PHP errors started to surface with me and others). And it was never put back by Muse even during a clean/full reupload of the website.  Had to have my web provider do it manually.
